A multi-objective optimization method for the tradeoff between manufacturing cost and weight of composite wing structure is de- veloped by integrating the manufacturing cost model into the traditional wing structural optimization. A two-level optimization method is proposed to carry out the tradeoff between manufacturing cost and weight, in which the design variables include both structural layout and dimensions and a cost model is incorporated into structural optimization. The manufacturing cost model for a composite wing and the detail procedure for solving this tradeoff problem are presented. The application of the method to the composite wing structural design of an unmanned aerial vehicle is illustrated to verify the method. The traditional design of PWWF is complicated, highly iterative and cost uncontrolable, because PWWF is a variable stiffness multi-agent structure, with non-linear loading and deformation coordination. In this paper, cost optimization method of large-scale PWWF by multiple-island genetic algorithm (MIGA) is presented. Optimization design flow and optimization model are proposed based on variable-tension wire winding theory. An example of the PWWF cost optimization of isostatic equipment with axial load 6 000 kN is given. The optimization cost is reduced by 21.6% compared with traditional design. To formulate this model, we first define and analyze a green supply chain in a multi-dimensional and quantitative manner. The green investment alternatives considering in our model are as follows: 1) purchasing eco-friendly raw materials that cost more than conventional raw materials but whose use in production results in lower CO2 emissions;2) replacing current facilities with new eco-friendly facilities that have the capability to reduce CO2 emissions;and 3) changing modes of transport from less eco-friendly to more eco-friendly modes. We propose a green investment cost optimization (GICO) model that enables us to determine the optimal investment points. The study also showed that the actual savings potential depends on the timing of power outage, duration and the specific load characteristics.
文摘This paper introduces a new study on cost optimization of surface grinding. In the study, the effects of grinding parameters including the dressing regime parameters, the wheel life and the initial grinding wheel diameter on the exchanged grinding wheel diameter which were investigated. In addition, the influence of cost parameters including the machine tool hourly rate and the grinding wheel cost were taken into account. In order to find the optimum exchanged grinding wheel diameter, a cost optimization problem was built. From the results of the optimization problem, a model for determination of the optimum exchanged grinding wheel diameter was found. By using the optimum diameter, both the grinding cost and grinding time can be reduced significantly.

文摘Accurately predicting the powder factor during blasting is essential for sustainable production planning in low-grade mines. This research presents a method for predicting powder factor based on the heterogeneity of rock mass rating(RMR).Considering a low-grade metal mine as an example, this study exploited geostatistical methods to obtain independent RMR for each block unit.A three-dimensional spatial distribution model for the powder factor was developed on the basis of the relationships between the RMR and the powder factor.Subsequently, models for blasting cost and mining value were built and employed to optimize the open-pit limit. The multi-variable model based on the RMR performed well in predicting the powder factor, achieving a correlation coefficient of 0.88(root mean square error of 4.3)and considerably outperforming the uniaxial compressive strength model. After model optimization, the mean size and standard deviation of the fragments in the blast pile decreased by 8.5%and 35.1%,respectively,whereas the boulder yield and its standard deviation decreased by 33.3%and 58.8%,respectively.Additionally,optimizing the open-pit limit using this method reduced the amount of rock, increased the amount of ore,and lowered blasting costs, thereby enhancing the economic efficiency of the mine. This study provides valuable insights for blasting design and mining decisions, demonstrating the advantages and potential applications of powder factor prediction based on the heterogeneity of rock mass quality.

文摘To further enhance the recovery rate of low-temperature waste heat, the low-temperature flue gas in the sinter annular cooler was chosen as the heat source of an organic Rankine cycle(ORC)system, and the comprehensive evaluation of energy, exergy and economic performance of the ORC system was conducted deeply. The energy, exergy and economic performance models of the ORC system were established, and proper candidate organic working fluids(OWFs)were selected based on the thermo-physical properties of OWF and operating characteristics of ORC system. Then, the effects of ORC crucial parameters on the system energy, exergy and economic performances were evaluated in detail. Finally, the bi-objective optimization based on the genetic algorithm was conducted to analyze the optimal performance of the ORC system under the designed ORC crucial parameters, and the exergy efficiency and electricity production cost were set as the evaluation indexes of parametric optimization. The results indicate that the ORC system with the higher evaporation temperature and lower condensation temperature can obtain the larger system exergy efficiency and smaller electricity production cost. The smaller the superheat degree of OWF and pinch-point temperature difference in the evaporator are,the better the energy and exergy performances of the ORC system are.Under the optimization results,R245fa has the best comprehensive performance with the exergy efficiency of 46.34%and electricity production cost of 0.12123$/kWh among the selected candidate OWFs,which should be preferentially chosen as the OWF of the ORC system.

文摘Adequacy of structural fire design in uncommon structures is conceptually ensured through cost-benefit analysis where the future costs are balanced against the benefits of safety investment.Cost-benefit analyses, however, are complicated and computationally challenging, and hence impractical for application to individual projects. To address this issue, design guidance proposes target reliability indices for normal design conditions, but no target reliability indices are defined for structural fire design. We revisit the background of the cost-optimization based approach underlying normal design target reliability indices then we extend this approach for the case of fire design of structures. We also propose a modified objective function for cost-optimization which simplifies the evaluation of target reliability indices and reduces the number of assumptions. The optimum safety level is expressed as a function of a new dimensionless variable named“Damage-to-investment indicator”(DII).The cost optimization approach is validated for the target reliability indices for normal design condition. The method is then applied for evaluating DII and the associated optimum reliability indices for fire-exposed structures. Two case studies are presented:(i)a one-way loaded reinforced concrete slab and(ii)a steel column under axial loading. This study thus provides a framework for deriving optimum(target)reliability index for structural fire design which can support the development of rational provisions in codes and standards.
文摘The primary goal of this study is to fully grasp the production flow of the new processing technologies for manufacturing composite stiffened panels incorporating cost as one of the design variables early in the design process. An approach is presented to determine the optimum process for cost as objective function. A cost estimation model is established based on the integrally molding process. In the model, the cost drivers which are related to the manufacture processes in terms of material, labor, tool and equipment costs are taken into account. At the same time, estimation software combined computer is developed to aid optimization design. A case of manufacturing composite stiffened panels with T-shaped stiffeners is examined. Excellent agreement shows the optimum process for cost is obtained for the composite stiffened panel with cocuring. It is also revealed that the estimation software combined computer is efficient. The estimation methodology is valid to guide design of the manufacturing process for the composite-stiffened panel.
