Evolution of the Design of Cold Mass Support for the ITER Magnet Feeder System

This paper presents the evolution of the design of cold mass support for the ITER magnet feeder system. The glass fibers in the cylinder and the flanges of the normal G10 support are discontinuous in the preliminary design. The heat load of this support from the analysis is only 4.86 W. However, the mechanical test of the prototype showed that it can only endure 9 kN lateral force, which is significantly less than the required 20 kN. So, the configuration of the glass fibers in the cylinders and flanges of this G10 support are modified by changing it to a continuous and knitted type to reinforce the support, and then a new improved prototype is manufactured and tested. It could endure 15'kN lateral forces this time, but still not meet the required 20 kN. Finally, the SS316LN material is chosen for the cold mass supports. The analysis results show that it is safe under 20 kN lateral forces with the heat load increased to 14.8 W. Considering the practical application, the requirements of strength is of primary importance. So, this SS316LN cold mass support is acceptable for the ITER magnet feeder system. On the other hand, the design idea of using continuous and knitted glass fibers to reinforce the strength of a G10 support is a good reference for the case with a lower heat load and not too high Lorentz force. 展开更多

The purpose of this study is to analyze the galloping characteristics of the catenary positive feeder in fluctuating wind areas considering dynamic-wind angle of attack and aerodynamic damping.Firstly,the flow field model of the catenary positive feeder was established,the fluctuating wind field was simulated by Davenport wind power spectrum and linear filtering method,and the wind speed at inlet in calculation domain was controlled by editing the profile file to simulate and calculate the aerodynamic characteristics of the positive feeder in the fluctuating wind area.Then,taking the positive feeder as the research object,the mathematical model of actual structure and the corresponding finite element model were established.By applying the wind load to the finite element model,the influence of aerodynamic damping caused by the self-movement of the positive feeder on the galloping response was analyzed,and the frequency domain characteristics of galloping displacement of the positive feeder considering aerodynamic damping were studied.Finally,the calculation method of aerodynamic damping by the Guidelines for Electrical Transmission Line Structural Loading(ASCE No.74)was used for the galloping response of the positive feeder and compared with the proposed method.The results show that when considering aerodynamic damping,the galloping amplitude of the positive feeder decreases significantly,and the first-order resonance effect on the vertical displacement and horizontal displacement decreases significantly.The galloping trajectories calculated by the two methods are consistent.Therefore,this study is of great significance to further clarify the ice-free galloping mechanism of the catenary positive feeder in violent wind areas. 展开更多

The performance of complementary feeders, running in parallel, can be significantly improved by installing static transfer switches (STSs) at critical locations. We develop the STS control logic, which transfers the critical load from the preferred feeder to the alternate feeder when a voltage sag or a fault occurs on the preferred feeder. A forced commutation technique is proposed and implemented to turn off the preferred feeders' thyristor, thus avoiding cross current to flow and minimizing the transfer time. Simulation results show that the forced commutation technique is more effective as compared to the recently proposed time delay technique for STS operation. Two different feeders, namely New Exchange, the preferred feeder, and Sector 1-10/2, the alternate feeder of Islamabad Electric Supply COmpany (IESCO), Pakistan, have been selected for case studies. In the present study, the dynamic response of a coupled SPM-feeder-cage system under irregular waves and shear currents is analyzed. A numerical model is developed by using the commercial software Orca Flex. Hydrodynamics coefficients of the vessel are calculated by using a 3D diffraction/radiation panel program. First- and second-order wave forces are included in the calculations. Morison equation is used to compute the drag force on line elements representing the net. Drag coefficients are determined at every time step in the simulation considering the relative normal velocity between the structural elements and the fluid flow. The dynamic response of the coupled system is analyzed for various environments and net materials. The results of the study show the effects of solidity ratio of the net and vertical positions of the cage on the overall dynamic response of the system, confirming the viability of this type of configuration for future development of offshore aquaculture in deep waters. 展开更多

This paper discusses a design method for the control system of a weigh feeder that supplies powder and granular material at a constant rate. Most weigh feeders employed in industry are controlled by proportional and integral (PI) compensation, and the control performance is decided by the selection of parameters. To attain advanced control performance by PI control, the PI parameters are designed on the basis of generalized minimum variance control (GMVC). In this study, to achieve user-specified control performance by GMVC-based PI control, the design parameters of GMVC are automatically adjusted using a performance-adaptive method. The control performance discussed in this study consists of the variance of the control error and that of the difference in the control input. In a conventional performance-adaptive method, the variance of the control error is reduced. In this study, to reduce energy consumption and to achieve user-specified control performance, the variance of the difference in the control input is specified and the design parameter is determined. To demonstrate its effectiveness, the proposed method is applied to an actual weigh feeder. 展开更多

冰粒相互黏结以及配送器表面凹槽参数选取不合理,会导致冰粒气射流清洗装备冰粒输出效果不稳定、系统易发生堵塞等问题,为此,对航空发动机零件冰粒气射流清洗装备的输冰系统结构进行了优化设计与仿真研究。首先,利用计算流体力学(CFD)... 冰粒相互黏结以及配送器表面凹槽参数选取不合理,会导致冰粒气射流清洗装备冰粒输出效果不稳定、系统易发生堵塞等问题,为此,对航空发动机零件冰粒气射流清洗装备的输冰系统结构进行了优化设计与仿真研究。首先,利用计算流体力学(CFD)仿真软件Fluent模拟了高压气体进入配送器凹槽的过程,探究了不同形状、不同尺寸凹槽的内部流场特性;然后,在输冰系统中引入了搅拌系统,选取了适用于该技术工况的搅拌结构类型并建立了模型;最后,计算流体力学-离散单元法耦合(CFD-DEM)建立了仿真模型,模拟了冰粒进入料仓底部后被搅拌的过程,探究了特定工况下不同结构搅拌器的搅拌性能。研究结果表明:与方形槽相比,圆形槽内流场的速度分布更加均匀,配送器表面凹槽的最优选择为直径18 mm、深度15 mm的圆形凹槽,其底部气流最大速度可达228 m/s;搅拌器最优结构为扁状叶片“日”字形锚框式搅拌器,可使料仓底部冰粒平均速度达到0.7296 m/s。合理选择配送器表面凹槽形状及尺寸可以增大其底部气流的最大速度,同时引入优选搅拌结构能够促进系统易堵塞区域的冰粒运动,可以解决冰粒输出不均及系统堵塞问题。 展开更多

针对轨道交通馈线系统中继电保护装置动作故障诊断耗时长且依赖专家经验的现状,提出1种基于生成对抗网络增强的合成少数类过采样技术(SMOTE-GAN)和组合麻雀搜索算法(CSSA)优化的一维卷积神经网络(1D-CNN)故障诊断模型SG-CSSA-1D-CNN。首... 针对轨道交通馈线系统中继电保护装置动作故障诊断耗时长且依赖专家经验的现状,提出1种基于生成对抗网络增强的合成少数类过采样技术(SMOTE-GAN)和组合麻雀搜索算法(CSSA)优化的一维卷积神经网络(1D-CNN)故障诊断模型SG-CSSA-1D-CNN。首先,通过SMOTE生成局部理想的少数类样本作为生成对抗网络(GAN)生成器的输入,融合SMOTE的局部插值优势与GAN的全局分布学习能力,解决原始样本不足及生成样本质量不高的问题;其次,采用引入Tent混沌序列和高斯变异机制的CSSA算法提升全局寻优效率,实现1D-CNN最优超参数的自动搜索,优化模型分类性能;最后,基于包含18个电气特征的9类故障实际数据集,构建故障诊断模型。结果表明:与原始1D-CNN模型相比,优化后的模型损失降低12.5%,其诊断准确率提升至98.46%,9类故障分类精度达到均衡。该方法可有效解决类别不平衡数据下的故障识别难题,并显著提升继电保护装置动作故障的识别可靠性。 展开更多

柔性互联是构建新型电力系统的重要途径之一。针对多端低压柔性互联系统馈线故障情况下柔性多状态开关(flexible multi-state switch,FMSS)工作状态的平滑转换问题,提出一种FMSS不同运行模式切换的预状态跟踪控制策略。该策略是在进行... 柔性互联是构建新型电力系统的重要途径之一。针对多端低压柔性互联系统馈线故障情况下柔性多状态开关(flexible multi-state switch,FMSS)工作状态的平滑转换问题,提出一种FMSS不同运行模式切换的预状态跟踪控制策略。该策略是在进行模式切换控制之前,通过预先跟踪输出电压,使得控制前后的输出电压匹配,从而在模式切换瞬间能实现平稳过渡,减小模式切换过程带来的电压、电流冲击和功率波动,在提升新能源消纳率的同时,实现了对负荷的持续可靠供电。针对馈线故障后定直流母线电压(Udc-Q)控制端口的再选取问题,提出一种潮流调控策略下该控制端口的选取方法。最后,基于MATLAB/Simulink仿真平台和RT-LAB半实物仿真平台搭建多端低压柔性互联系统模型,仿真和实验结果验证了所提出控制策略的有效性。 展开更多
