This paper introduces a computational cognitive architecture that serves as a comprehensive computational theory of the human mind,from cognitive science and computational psychology.The cognitive architecture(named Clarion)has been justified by,and validated against,psychological data,findings,and theoretical constructs.One important theoretical background for it is the dual-process theories,which led to its overall two-level structuring in a hybrid neuro-symbolic way.Furthermore,given the recent advances in AI and computing technology,LLMs are being incorporated into the model to better capture human intuition and instinct(and implicit processes in general),in order to further enhance Clarion.Integrating Clarion and LLMs can also help to develop AI systems that are more capable,more reliable,and more human-like.Overall,the paper advocates a multidisciplinary approach towards developing better models for cognitive science and for AI. 展开更多

An Analytical Review of Large Language Models Leveraging KDGI Fine-Tuning,Quantum Embedding’s,and Multimodal Architectures

A complete examination of Large Language Models’strengths,problems,and applications is needed due to their rising use across disciplines.Current studies frequently focus on single-use situations and lack a comprehensive understanding of LLM architectural performance,strengths,and weaknesses.This gap precludes finding the appropriate models for task-specific applications and limits awareness of emerging LLM optimization and deployment strategies.In this research,50 studies on 25+LLMs,including GPT-3,GPT-4,Claude 3.5,DeepKet,and hybrid multimodal frameworks like ContextDET and GeoRSCLIP,are thoroughly reviewed.We propose LLM application taxonomy by grouping techniques by task focus—healthcare,chemistry,sentiment analysis,agent-based simulations,and multimodal integration.Advanced methods like parameter-efficient tuning(LoRA),quantumenhanced embeddings(DeepKet),retrieval-augmented generation(RAG),and safety-focused models(GalaxyGPT)are evaluated for dataset requirements,computational efficiency,and performance measures.Frameworks for ethical issues,data limited hallucinations,and KDGI-enhanced fine-tuning like Woodpecker’s post-remedy corrections are highlighted.The investigation’s scope,mad,and methods are described,but the primary results are not.The work reveals that domain-specialized fine-tuned LLMs employing RAG and quantum-enhanced embeddings performbetter for context-heavy applications.In medical text normalization,ChatGPT-4 outperforms previous models,while two multimodal frameworks,GeoRSCLIP,increase remote sensing.Parameter-efficient tuning technologies like LoRA have minimal computing cost and similar performance,demonstrating the necessity for adaptive models in multiple domains.To discover the optimum domain-specific models,explain domain-specific fine-tuning,and present quantum andmultimodal LLMs to address scalability and cross-domain issues.The framework helps academics and practitioners identify,adapt,and innovate LLMs for different purposes.This work advances the field of efficient,interpretable,and ethical LLM application research. 展开更多

The distinctive landscape of Zhujiayu Ancient Village in Zhangqiu District,Ji’nan,together with its long-established cultural traditions,has shaped a unique vernacular settlement character,within which traditional dwellings serve as a primary medium of regional culture.This study examines the residence of Zhu Fengyin,a jinshi degree holder,and adopts field investigation and measured drawing-based analysis.Discussion is organized around three dimensions:an overview of the dwelling,architectural form,and cultural expression.Particular attention is given to the multi-stage,multi-bay compound configuration developed in a mountainous setting,terrain-adaptive courtyard forms,and construction techniques.The analysis further interprets the concepts of ritual order and auspicious symbolism embedded in architectural decoration.By using this representative case,the study aims to deepen understanding of the architectural culture of gentry dwellings in the Ji’nan region and to provide an academic basis for the conservation and inheritance of traditional dwellings in the Ji’nan area. 展开更多

Chain architecture-engineered artesunate nanoassemblies target LONP1 to induce oxidative damage for enhanced anti-tumor therapy

Despite demonstrating significant anti-tumor potential as an artemisinin derivative,artesunate faces delivery efficiency challenges due to low water solubility and insufficient targeting specificity.To improve the delivery efficiency,we engineered three artesunate(ART) derivatives,AC_(15)-L(linear),AC_(15)-B(branched),and AC_(15)-C(cyclic) with distinct aliphatic chain architectures.Unexpectedly,we observed that AC_(15)-C exhibited superior cytotoxicity against 4T1 breast cancer cells,and had the highest binding affinity for Lon protease 1(LONP1)(-72.6 kcal/mol).Subsequently,disulfide bond-containing lipid-PEG(DSPESS-PEG2K) modified chain architecture-engineered ART derivatives nanoassemblies(NAs) were developed to mitigate solubility-related limitations while enhancing targeting precision.Molecular docking and experimental validation demonstrated that ART derivatives inhibited LONP1 through hydrophobic interactions while preserved Fe^(2+)-mediated Fenton-like reaction activity.In vitro and in vivo evaluations demonstrated that AC_(15)-C NAs outperformed free ART and other NAs,suppressing 4T1 tumor growth via dual action:LONP1-directed mitochondrial proteostasis collapse and reactive oxygen species(ROS) amplification through Fe^(2+)-ART interactions.This study elucidated a novel anti-tumor mechanism of ART through the rational design of derivatives with spatially configured aliphatic chains,and developed reductionresponsive NAs to provide an advanced delivery strategy. 展开更多

Deep learning has become integral to robotics,particularly in tasks such as robotic grasping,where objects often exhibit diverse shapes,textures,and physical properties.In robotic grasping tasks,due to the diverse characteristics of the targets,frequent adjustments to the network architecture and parameters are required to avoid a decrease in model accuracy,which presents a significant challenge for non-experts.Neural Architecture Search(NAS)provides a compelling method through the automated generation of network architectures,enabling the discovery of models that achieve high accuracy through efficient search algorithms.Compared to manually designed networks,NAS methods can significantly reduce design costs,time expenditure,and improve model performance.However,such methods often involve complex topological connections,and these redundant structures can severely reduce computational efficiency.To overcome this challenge,this work puts forward a robotic grasp detection framework founded on NAS.The method automatically designs a lightweight network with high accuracy and low topological complexity,effectively adapting to the target object to generate the optimal grasp pose,thereby significantly improving the success rate of robotic grasping.Additionally,we use Class Activation Mapping(CAM)as an interpretability tool,which captures sensitive information during the perception process through visualized results.The searched model achieved competitive,and in some cases superior,performance on the Cornell and Jacquard public datasets,achieving accuracies of 98.3%and 96.8%,respectively,while sustaining a detection speed of 89 frames per second with only 0.41 million parameters.To further validate its effectiveness beyond benchmark evaluations,we conducted real-world grasping experiments on a UR5 robotic arm,where the model demonstrated reliable performance across diverse objects and high grasp success rates,thereby confirming its practical applicability in robotic manipulation tasks. 展开更多

Fault-tolerant systems are crucial for ensuring the reliability and availability of missioncritical applications in modern computing environments.The dynamic heterogeneous redundancy(DHR)architecture is a key component in constructing fault-tolerant systems,particularly in areas such as national security,power networks,and banking private networks.DHR is transforming the cyberspace security industry chain by accommodating a broader range of applications and increasingly capturing the market.However,the development of applications for DHR architecture encounters challenges due to the complexities of handling heterogeneity,managing dynamism,and maintaining usability.To address these issues,we introduce MimicStudio,a comprehensive development framework with a standardized workflow.To our knowledge,MimicStudio is the first effective solution for DHR software development.We present a detailed implementation of MimicStudio with a heterogeneous microcontroller unit project,encompassing three CPUs with different instruction set architectures.The paper evaluates MimicStudio’s support for essential features,including zero-copy synchronization,parallelized build,multi-core collaborative debugging,and dynamic adjustment of the software system’s structure.Our results show that MimicStudio provides a flexible and efficient solution for supporting the dynamic,heterogeneous,and redundant features of fault-tolerant systems. 展开更多

An ancient super allele of the Vrs1 gene driving the recent success in modern barley improvement through optimising spike architecture

Improved yield potential is the goal of barley domestication and cultivation.During this process,two-and six-rowed barley types emerged and have been utilised in breeding and production.The six-rowed type could produce three times as many grains as its ancestral two-rowed forms,thus dominating barley cultivation for thousands of years.The deficiens form of the two-rowed type,characterised by extremely suppressed lateral spikelets,has gained dominance over the past few decades in barley-growing regions worldwide.We hypothesised that the absence of lateral spikelets in deficiens barley affects spike architecture and spike-related traits,contributing to its superior yield potential of deficiens barley cultivation.Currently,a deficiens barley variety,RGT Planet,is the most popular barley variety in the world.In this study,we used two F_(2) populations derived from crossing RGT Planet with two canonical two-rowed barley and identified the functional allele Vrs1.t1 associated with deficiens morphology.We observed that the Vrs1.t1 allele may contribute to high yield potential by optimising spike architecture through increased spikelet length,grain number,and grain size.Phylogenetic analysis suggests that the deficiens mutation was likely present from the early stages of barley cultivation in the Fertile Crescent and spread to Ethiopia and beyond with agricultural expansion.We conclude that the ancient deficiens allele Vrs1.t1 has been a critical driver for the recent success of modern barley improvement by optimising spike architecture. 展开更多

In this paper we discuss policy iteration methods for approximate solution of a finite-state discounted Markov decision problem, with a focus on feature-based aggregation methods and their connection with deep reinforcement learning schemes. We introduce features of the states of the original problem, and we formulate a smaller "aggregate" Markov decision problem, whose states relate to the features. We discuss properties and possible implementations of this type of aggregation, including a new approach to approximate policy iteration. In this approach the policy improvement operation combines feature-based aggregation with feature construction using deep neural networks or other calculations. We argue that the cost function of a policy may be approximated much more accurately by the nonlinear function of the features provided by aggregation, than by the linear function of the features provided by neural networkbased reinforcement learning, thereby potentially leading to more effective policy improvement. 展开更多

The rapid consumption of fossil fuel and increased environmental damage caused by it have given a strong impetus to the growth and development of fuelefficient vehicles. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) have evolved from their inchoate state and are proving to be a promising solution to the serious existential problem posed to the planet earth. Not only do HEVs provide better fuel economy and lower emissions satisfying environmental legislations, but also they dampen the effect of rising fuel prices on consumers. HEVs combine the drive powers of an internal combustion engine and an electrical machine. The main components of HEVs are energy storage system, motor, bidirectional converter and maximum power point trackers (MPPT, in case of solar-powered HEVs). The performance of HEVs greatly depends on these components and its architecture. This paper presents an extensive review on essential components used in HEVs such as their architectures with advantages and disadvantages, choice of bidirectional converter to obtain high efficiency, combining ultracapacitor with battery to extend the battery life, traction motors’ role and their suitability for a particular application. Inclusion of photovoltaic cell in HEVs is a fairly new concept and has been discussed in detail. Dynamic Change of Genetic Diversity in Conserved Populations with Different Initial Genetic Architectures 被引量:2

Maintenance and management of genetic diversity of farm animal genetic resources (AnGR) is very important for biological, socioeconomical and cultural significance. The core concern of conservation for farm AnGR is the retention of genetic diversity of conserved populations in a long-term perspective. However, numerous factors may affect evolution of genetic diversity of a conserved population. Among those factors, the genetic architecture of conserved populations is little considered in current conservation strategies. In this study, we investigated the dynamic changes of genetic diversity of conserved populations with two scenarios on initial genetic architectures by computer simulation in which thirty polymorphic microsatellite loci were chosen to represent genetic architecture of the populations with observed heterozygosity (Ho) and expected heterozygosity (He), observed and mean effective number of alleles (Ao and Ae), number of polymorphic loci (NP) and the percentage of polymorphic loci (PP), number of rare alleles (RA) and number of non-rich polymorphic loci (NRP) as the estimates of genetic diversity. The two scenarios on genetic architecture were taken into account, namely, one conserved population with same allele frequency (AS) and another one with actual allele frequency (AA). The results showed that the magnitude of loss of genetic diversity is associated with genetic architecture of initial conserved population, the amplitude of genetic diversity decline in the context AS was more narrow extent than those in context AA, the ranges of decline of Ho and Ao were about 4 and 2 times in AA compared with that in AS, respectively, the occurrence of first monomorphic locus and the time of change of measure NP in scenario AA is 20 generations and 23 generations earlier than that in scenario AS, respectively. Additionally, we found that NRP, a novel measure proposed by our research group, was a proper estimate for monitoring the evolution of genetic diversity in a closed conserved population. Our study suggested that current managements of conserved populations should emphasize on initial genetic architecture in order to make an effective and feasible conservation scheme. 展开更多

Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)are one of the most promising energy storage devices because of their high theoretical energy density;however,inherent issues including poor electrical conductivity and severe dissolution of S and its discharged products hinder their practical applications.MXenes have metallic conductivity,ultra-thin two-dimensional(2D)structures,rich surface functional groups,and macrostructural adjustability and have been widely used to design advanced sulfur hosts.3D network structures assembled by 2D MXene nanosheets have shown superior performance for improving reaction kinetics,accommodating and dispersing sulfur at the micro-/nanoscale,and capturing polysulfides due to their porous interconnected structure.Herein,the applications of MXene architectures related to 2D layered structures,3D multilayered structures,and 3D spherical structures as sulfur hosts are reviewed.The structure-performance relationship,challenges for current designs,and opportunities for future 3D architectures for LSBs are also analyzed. 展开更多

Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA) is an efficient reconfigurable integrated circuit platform and has become a core signal processing microchip device of digital systems over the last decade. With the rapid development of semiconductor technology, the performance and system integration of FPGA devices have been significantly progressed, and at the same time new challenges arise. The design of FPGA architecture is required to evolve to meet these challenges, while also taking advantage of ever increased microchip density. This survey reviews the recent development of advanced FPGA architectures, including improvement of the programming technologies, logic blocks, interconnects, and embedded resources. Moreover, some important emerging design issues of FPGA architectures, such as novel memory based FPGAs and 3D FPGAs, are also presented to provide an outlook for future FPGA development. 展开更多

Recently,due to the availability of big data and the rapid growth of computing power,artificial intelligence(AI)has regained tremendous attention and investment.Machine learning(ML)approaches have been successfully applied to solve many problems in academia and in industry.Although the explosion of big data applications is driving the development of ML,it also imposes severe challenges of data processing speed and scalability on conventional computer systems.Computing platforms that are dedicatedly designed for AI applications have been considered,ranging from a complement to von Neumann platforms to a“must-have”and stand-alone technical solution.These platforms,which belong to a larger category named“domain-specific computing,”focus on specific customization for AI.In this article,we focus on summarizing the recent advances in accelerator designs for deep neural networks(DNNs)-that is,DNN accelerators.We discuss various architectures that support DNN executions in terms of computing units,dataflow optimization,targeted network topologies,architectures on emerging technologies,and accelerators for emerging applications.We also provide our visions on the future trend of AI chip designs. 展开更多

Self-assembly of Zn(NO3)2·6H2O and 2,3,5,6-tetrabromoterephthalic acid(H2TBTA) gave rise to two new zinc metal-organic frameworks,Zn(HTBTA)2(phen)2·H2O(1) and Zn(TBTA)1/2(μ2-OH)(H2O)·0.25EtOH(2).Complex 1 is a mononuclear molecule.The hydrogen bonding interactions further connect the mononuclear molecules to generate a 2D supramolecular architecture.Complex 2 is a 2D organic-inorganic hybrid layer framework constructed from 1D rod-shaped secondary building units. 展开更多
