The paper presents a two-layer,disturbance-resistant,and fault-tolerant affine formation maneuver control scheme that accomplishes the surrounding of a dynamic target with multiple underactuated Quadrotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(QUAVs).This scheme mainly consists of predefinedtime estimators and fixed-time tracking controllers,with a hybrid Laplacian matrix describing the communication among these QUAVs.At the first layer,we devise predefined time estimators for leading and following QUAVs,enabling accurate estimation of desired information.In the second layer,we initially devise a fixed-time hybrid observer to estimate unknown disturbances and actuator faults.Fixedtime translational tracking controllers are then proposed,and the intermediary control input from these controllers is used to extract the desired attitude and angular velocities for the fixed-time rotational tracking controllers.We employ an exact tracking differentiator to handle variables that are challenging to differentiate directly.The paper includes a demonstration of the control system stability through mathematical proof,as well as the presentation of simulation results and comparative simulations. 展开更多

This paper investigates the modeling and the practical predefined-time(PdT)tracking control problems for a fully actuated disk-shaped autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV)with six degrees of freedom.To overcome the gimbal lock problem inherent in Euler angle representation,unit quaternions are adopted to model the AUV,accounting for internal uncertainties and external disturbances.Then,an improved time-varying function is introduced,which serves as the basis for designing a nonsingular sliding surface and sliding mode controller with PdT stability.This approach ensures that the tracking errors converge within a predefined time,independent of initial conditions and design parameters.Compared with traditional PdT controllers,the proposed method eliminates singularities,enhances the precision of convergence time estimation,and typically yields smaller,smoother initial control inputs,thus improving its potential for engineering applications.Numerical simulations validate the effectiveness and performance of the proposed controller. 展开更多

This paper presents a predefined-time controller for Multiple Space transportation Robots System (MSRS), which can be applied in on-orbit assembly tasks to transport modules to pre-assembly configuration quickly. Firstly, to simplify the analysis and design of predefined-time controller, a Predefined-time Stability Criterion is proposed in the form of Composite Lyapunov Function (CLF-PSC). Besides simplicity, the CLF-PSC also has the advantage of less conservativeness due to utilization of initial state information. Secondly, a concept of Lp-Norm-Normalized Sign Function (LPNNSF) is proposed based on the CLF-PSC. Different from traditional norm-normalized sign function, the Lp-norm of LPNNSF can be selected arbitrarily according to practical control task requirements, which means that the proposed LPNNSF is more generalized and more convenient for calculation. Thirdly, a predefined-time disturbance observer and predefined-time controller are designed based on the LPNNSF. The observer has the property of predefined-time convergence to achieve quicker and more accurate estimation of the lumped disturbance. The controller has less control input and chattering phenomenon than traditional predefined-time controller. In addition, by introducing the observer into the controller, the closed-loop system enjoys high precision and strong robustness. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified by numerical simulations. By employing the controller, the MSRS can carry assembly modules to the desired pre-assembly configuration accurately within predefined time. 展开更多

Firstly, a novel Lyapunov criterion of practical predefined-time stability is established. Following the proposed criterion, a tangent function based nonsingular predefined-time sliding manifold and the control strategy are developed. Secondly, the radial basis function NN with a low-complexity adaptation mechanism is incorporated into the controller to tackle the actuator faults and uncertainties. Thirdly, rigorous theoretical proof reveals that the attitude tracking errors can converge to a small region around the origin within a predefined time, while all signals in the closed-loop system remain bounded. Finally, numerical simulation results are presented to verify the effectiveness and improved performance of the proposed control scheme. 展开更多

We present a robust quantum optimal control framework for implementing fast entangling gates on ion-trap quantum processors.The framework leverages tailored laser pulses to drive the multiple vibrational sidebands of the ions to create phonon-mediated entangling gates and,unlike the state of the art,requires neither weakcoupling Lamb-Dicke approximation nor perturbation treatment.With the application of gradient-based optimal control,it enables finding amplitude-and phase-modulated laser control protocols that work without the Lamb-Dicke approximation,promising gate speeds on the order of microseconds comparable to the characteristic trap frequencies.Also,robustness requirements on the temperature of the ions and initial optical phase can be conveniently included to pursue high-quality fast gates against experimental imperfections.Our approach represents a step in speeding up quantum gates to achieve larger quantum circuits for quantum computation and simulation,and thus can find applications in near-future experiments. 展开更多

With the development of More Electric Aircraft(MEA),the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM)is widely used in the MEA field.The PMSM control system of MEA needs to consider the system reliability,and the inverter switching frequency of the inverter is one of the impacting factors.At the same time,the control accuracy of the system also needs to be considered,and the torque ripple and flux ripple are usually considered to be its important indexes.This paper proposes a three-stage series Model Predictive Torque and Flux Control system(three-stage series MPTFC)based on fast optimal voltage vector selection to reduce switching frequency and suppress torque ripple and flux ripple.Firstly,the analytical model of the PMSM is established and the multi-stage series control method is used to reduce the switching frequency.Secondly,selectable voltage vectors are extended from 8 to 26 and a fast selection method for optimal voltage vector sectors is designed based on the hysteresis comparator,which can suppress the torque ripple and flux ripple to improve the control accuracy.Thirdly,a three-stage series control is obtained by expanding the two-stage series control using the P-Q torque decomposition theory.Finally,a model predictive torque and flux control experimental platform is built,and the feasibility and effectiveness of this method are verified through comparison experiments. 展开更多

The system performance of grid-connected photovoltaic(PV)has a serious impact on the grid stability.To improve the control performance and shorten the convergence time,a predefined-time controller based on backstepping technology and dynamic surface control is formulated for the inverter in the grid-connected photovoltaic.The time-varying tuning functions are introduced into state-tracking errors to realize the predefined-time control effect.To address the“computational explosion problem”in the design process of backstepping control,dynamic surface control is adopted to avoid the analytical calculations of virtual control.The disturbances of the PV system are estimated and compensated by adaptive laws.The control parameters are chosen and the global stability of the closed-loop is ensured by Lyapunov conditions.Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed controller and ensure the predefined time control in the photovoltaic inverter. 展开更多

This paper proposes an adaptive predefined-time terminal sliding mode control(APTSMC)scheme for attitude tracking control of a quadrotor.To create this,an adaptive predefined-time stability controller based on a terminal sliding mode is constructed.The upper bound of convergence time in the proposed scheme can be adjusted by the explicit parameters during the design process of the controller.In addition,it is proved that the attitude tracking error will converge within two periods of the preset time.These two periods are set between two ranges:From the initial values to the sliding mode surface and from the sliding mode surface to the region near the origin.Furthermore,an adaptive law is adopted to eliminate unknown external disturbances and the effects of the uncertainties in the quadrotor model,so it is unnecessary to require the prior knowledge of the upper bound of the perturbations.Simulation results are produced and comparative case studies are carried out to demonstrate that the proposed scheme has faster convergence speed and smaller tracking errors. 展开更多

The acceleration autopilot design for skid-to-turn (STT) missile faces a great challenge owing to coupling effect among planes, variation of missile velocity and its parameters, inexistence of a complete state vector, and nonlinear aerodynamics. Moreover, the autopilot should be designed for the entire flight envelope where fast variations exist. In this paper, a design of integrated roll-pitch-yaw autopilot based on global fast terminal sliding mode control (GFTSMC) with a partial state nonlinear observer (PSNLO) for STT nonlinear time-varying missile model, is employed to address these issues. GFTSMC with a novel sliding surface is proposed to nullify the integral error and the singularity problem without application of the sign function. The proposed autopilot consisting of two-loop structure, controls STT maneuver and stabilizes the rolling with a PSNLO in order to estimate the immeasurable states as an output while its inputs are missile measurable states and control signals. The missile model considers the velocity variation, gravity effect and parameters' variation. Furthermore, the environmental conditions' dynamics are mod- eled. PSNLO stability and the closed loop system stability are studied. Finally, numerical simulation is established to evaluate the proposed autopilot performance and to compare it with existing approaches in the literature. 展开更多

The effectiveness of the magnetic confinement of plasma can be improved by elongat- ing the plasma cross-section in tokamak devices. But elongated plasma has vertical displacement instability, so a feedback control system is needed to restrain the plasma's vertical displacement. A fast control power supply is needed to excite the active feedback coils, which produces a magnetic field to control the plasma's displacement. With the development of EAST, the fast control power supply needs to keep on enhancing the fast response and output current. The structure of a new power supply is introduced in this paper. The method of multiple inverters paralleled with the current sharing reactor is presented to meet the need for large current and fast control. According to the design demands of the EAST fast control power supply, the adjuster of the current close loop is applied to the inverter, which can advance its ability to restrain the loop current in low frequency and DC output. Two recently predicted features are validated: the first states that it is sometimes better to use less efficient (per iteration) optimizer if the lack of efficiency is overmcompensated by an increase in the updating control frequency. Both techniques utilize quadratures for singular integrals using graded points. One has a polynomial order of accuracy if the integrand has a polynomial order of smoothness except at the singular point and the other has exponential order of accuracy if the integrand has an infinite order of smoothness except at the singular point. We estimate the order of convergence and computational complexity of the corresponding approximate solutions of the equation. We prove that the second technique preserves the order of convergence and computational complexity of the original collocation method. EAST (experimental advanced superconducting tokamak) fast control power supply is a high-capacity single-phase AC/DC/AC inverter power supply, which traces the displacement signal of plasma, and excites coils in a vacuum vessel to produce a magnetic field that realizes plasma stabilization. To meet the requirements of a large current and fast response, the multi- ple structure of the carrier phase-shift three-level inverter is presented, which realizes parallelled multi-inverters, raises the equivalent switching frequency of the inverters and improves the per- formance of output waves. In this work the design scheme is analyzed, and the output harmonic characteristic of parallel inverters is studied. The simulation and experimental results confirm that the scheme and control strategy is valid. The power supply system can supply a large current, and has a perfect performance on harmonic features as well as the ability of a fast response. 展开更多

In this paper, we propose a novel fractional-order fast terminal sliding mode control method, based on an integer-order scheme, to stabilize the chaotic motion of two typical microcomponents. We apply the fractional Lyapunov stability theorem to analytically guarantee the asymptotic stability of a system characterized by uncertainties and external disturbances. To reduce chattering, we design a fuzzy logic algorithm to replace the traditional signum function in the switching law. Lastly, we perform numerical simulations with both the fractional-order and integer-order control laws. A bio-inspired suction cup actuated by shape memory alloy(SMA)for miniature wall climbing robots is developed based on studying characteristics of biological suction apparatus.Some fast control strategies are introduced to improve negative pressure response.Theoretic model of the suction cup is built,and simulation and experiments results indicate the effectiveness of the fast control strategies.The largest negative pressure of the suction cup can reach 14 000 Pa,and its generating and cancelling just need 5 s.Research results indicate the suction cup can be used as an adhesion mechanism for miniature wall climbing robots. 展开更多
