Interior design market in China has put forward higher requirements on development of design denotation and enrichment of design connotation.Traditional interior design means and methods have been unable to meet the c...Interior design market in China has put forward higher requirements on development of design denotation and enrichment of design connotation.Traditional interior design means and methods have been unable to meet the colorful and diversified needs of contemporary people.Therefore,current interior modern design should actively innovate and reform,and change the traditional thinking mode of modern interior design.The rapid development of the market forces the design circle to constantly deepen the reform,make bold innovations,and comprehensively improve the level of design,so as to adapt to the development of the market.In view of this,this paper analyzes application methods,techniques and means of fair-faced concrete decorative elements in modern interior design,and fully understands the basic attribute characteristics of fair-faced concrete decorative elements;moreover,the design characteristics are analyzed to find out the rule of relevant decorative elements in modern interior design,so as to better carry out the design effort,improve the overall design level,and lay a solid foundation for subsequent development.展开更多

Sacrificial protection is a kind of active preventive intervention to conserve authentic fabric of architectural heritage,especially surfaces.This paper investigates the term of sacrificial protection and technical op...Sacrificial protection is a kind of active preventive intervention to conserve authentic fabric of architectural heritage,especially surfaces.This paper investigates the term of sacrificial protection and technical options,summarising that sacrificial plasters,shelter coating and plastic repair or re-pointing are three proven sacrificial protection measurements to conserve architectural surfaces.Two case studies show the preliminary approaches with help of sacrificial protection concept to restore historic fair-faced brick façades in China.Sacrificial protection concept did not originate from Chinese conservation practices,but it provides new prospects for sustainable conservation and revitalisation of architectural heritage.The implementation of sacrificial protection is still limited and more scientific studies are needed although most of approaches are traditional.展开更多
