Nuclear Fusion Within Extremely Dense Plasma Enhanced by Quantum Particle Waves

Such an enhancement is quantified by a wave penetration factor that is proportional to the density of the participating fuel particles. This leads to an innovative theory for dense plasma, and its result shows good agreement with independent data derived from the solar energy output. An analysis of the first Z-pinch machine in mankind's history exhibiting neutron emission leads to a derived deuterium plasma beam density greater than that of water, with plasma velocities exceeding 10000 km/s. Fusion power could be achieved by the intersection of four such pinched plasma beams with powerful head-on collisions in their common focal region due to the beam and target enhanced reaction. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Intracranial blister-like microaneurysms are an extremely rare disease.Rupture of intracranial aneurysms can lead to subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH).Patients with SAH may experience severe neurological symptoms,including severe headache,nausea,vomiting,transient or persistent loss of consciousness,limb weakness,and blurred vision.Ruptured aneurysms should be surgically treated as soon as possible.Intravascular electrocoagulation is becoming a promising treatment method for intracranial blister-like microaneurysms.The short-term follow-up results demonstrated that this method is safe and effective.This article presents a case of endovascular electrocoagulation for the treatment of a blisterlike microaneurysm.CASE SUMMARY This article reports the case of 71-year-old female patient with an intracranial aneurysm.The patient experienced a sudden headache with vomiting for 3 hours.Brain computed tomography(CT)scan showed a subarachnoid hemorrhage.She was diagnosed with rupture of an aneurysm and subarachnoid hemorrhage.The aneurysm was located in the choroidal segment of the right internal carotid artery.The size of the aneurysm was 2.00 mm×1.80 mm×1.97 mm,and the neck of the aneurysm was less than 0.5 mm wide.We successfully treated this aneurysm with endovascular electrocoagulation,and the patient was safely returned to the ward and discharged after subsequent supportive treatment.CT angiography reexamination 3 months after surgery revealed no contrast agent extravasation in the original lesion,with a good prognosis.CONCLUSION Endovascular electrocoagulation is an effective and safe method for the treatment of intracranial blister-like microaneurysms. 展开更多

The Sichuan Basin(SCB),China has a high incidence of extremely persistent heavy rainfall(EPHR)events.The EPHR events from 2009 to 2019 in the SCB were mainly concentrated over the northern and northwestern windward slopes and the central basin.They occurred from June to September,but especially in July,and peaked at 0300 LST.ERA5 reanalysis data and objective classification were used to investigate the synoptic patterns and their effects.There were three synoptic patterns during EPHR events,all accompanied by a Southwest Vortex.The location and intensity of the Southwest Vortex,thermal forcing of the Tibetan Plateau(TP),and low-level winds can greatly affect the intensity and spatial distribution of EPHR.When the Southwest Vortex was located in the western SCB and there were southerly low-level jets(LLJs),convergence and upslope wind would lead to EPHR over the northwestern or northern windward slopes.If there was no LLJ and the whole SCB was under the center of the Southwest Vortex,nocturnal EPHR was controlled by the internal circulation of the Southwest Vortex and the updraft generated by the thermal forcing of the TP,and the rainfall was weaker.The southeastern entrance of the SCB was a key area where the low-level wind dominated the nocturnal peak of EPHR.The nocturnal strengthened southeasterly wind in the key area is attributable to inertial oscillation,and the topographic friction plays an essential role in transporting momentum and moisture into the basin by generating easterly and northeasterly ageostrophic winds. 展开更多

Optimized positioning and cross-layer control for roadways beneath residual coal pillars in extremely close-distance coal seams

In extremely close-distance coal seam(ECDCS)mining,section coal pillars remain after upper coal seam(UCS)extraction.Thus,for layout and support design of lower coal seam(LCS)mining roadways,it is critical to account for UCS goaf deterioration and residual coal pillar(RCP)-induced stress disturbance.Taking the 6.4 m layer spacing of ECDCS mining in Nanyangpo Coal Mine as a case study,this research aimed to determine the optimal layout and surrounding rock control method for the 24202-ventilation roadway in the RCP area.First,the challenges of roadway layout and support under RCP were clarified:three layout methods face distinct RCPinduced stress disturbances and goaf-related roof damage.A finite element model was established;the second invariant of deviatoric stress(J_(2))and horizontal stress index were introduced to analyze plastic zone and stress evolution after UCS mining.Results show that J_(2)distributes symmetrically,with its peak diffusing downward and attenuating in a“/”-shaped pattern.Six schemes were simulated to compare plastic zone distributions at different positions,revealing that the optimal layout consists of a roadway alignment with the RCP center.Based on roadway layout and roof conditions,a cooperative control scheme was proposed:deep,strong anchorage with long cables across the RCP,and shallow stable support with short bolts in the ECDCS.This scheme secures roof cables anchored to the UCS RCP roof to achieve cross-seam anchorage.On-site borehole peeping and loose circle tests confirm smooth surrounding rock hole walls and limited failure range.Specifically,surrounding rock deformation and roof separation were controlled within 200 mm and 80 mm,respectively,with stable bolt/cable support resistance.These results offer an innovative solution for roadway layout design and support strategies under RCP in ECDCS,with significant engineering application value. 展开更多

Extremely large-scale array(XL-array)communications can significantly improve the transmission rate,spectral efficiency,and spatial resolution,and has great potential in next-generation mobile communication networks.A crucial problem in XLarray communications is to determine the boundary of applicable regions of the plane wave model(PWM)and spherical wave model(SWM).In this paper,we propose new PWM/SWM demarcations for XL-arrays from the viewpoint of channel gain and rank.Four sets of results are derived for four different array setups.First,an equi-power line is derived for a point-touniform linear array(ULA)scenario,where an inflection point is found at±π6 central incident angles.Second,an equi-power surface is derived for a point-touniform planar array(UPA)scenario,and it is proved that cos2(ϕ)cos2(φ)=12 is a dividing curve,where ϕ andφdenote the elevation and azimuth angles,respectively.Third,an accurate and explicit expression of the equi-rank surface is obtained for a ULA-to-ULA scenario.Finally,an approximated expression of the equirank surface is obtained for a ULA-to-UPA scenario.With the obtained closed-form expressions,the equirank surface for any antenna structure and any angle can be well estimated.Furthermore,the effect of scatterers is also investigated,from which some insights are drawn. 展开更多

Under the influence of the upper coal pillars and dynamic pressure of coal mining,the roadway of the lower coal seam is prone to large deformation failure.In this paper,a novel control method and key technologies of automatically formed roadway(AFR)by roof cutting and confined concrete column in extremely close-distance coal seam are proposed.Furthermore,a numerical model is established to analyze the structure characteristics of overlying roof strata.Based on numerical results,the roof structure model of“voussoir beam of upper layer+short cantilever beam of lower layer”of this method is proposed.What’s more,the calculation equation of the roof bending moment and evaluation indexes is established,and the influence of different factors on roof stability control of AFR is studied.Finally,a field test is conducted to verify the effectiveness of this novel method.Field results were as follows:1)The maximum and average support stress of working face obviously decreased;2)The confined concrete column can provide high-strength support in dynamic influence zone;3)The maximum deformation of AFR safety requirement can be met.This study can provide effective guidance for the application of this method in extremely close-distance coal seam. 展开更多

Included in the list of differential diagnoses for these tumors are Schwannomas, which are benign tumors within the peripheral nervous system [1]. Schwannomas are uncommon within the upper extremity, and they are exceedingly rare within the hand and wrist [1]. We describe a case of an 80-year-old female presented with a soft tissue mass within her right thumb. She underwent excisional biopsy of the mass, and pathology showed features consistent with schwannoma. She had resolution of her symptoms thereafter. We discuss the differential diagnosis for soft-tissue tumors in this location. When assessing patients with soft tissue tumors of the hand and wrist, it is important for the treating provider to maintain a broad differential diagnosis in order to facilitate appropriate management of these lesions. 展开更多

This study focuses on steeply inclined and extremely thick coal seams(SIETCS)characterized by immense thickness,a steep inclination of coal seams(87°),and high horizontal stress.The geological conditions and mining technology associated with SIETCS differ significantly from those of generally inclined coal seams,resulting in notable variations in roadway stress distributions.On SIETCS have predominantly examined the impact of rock layers flanking coal seams on rock bursts,with limited emphasis on SIETCS roadways.This study employs comprehensive methods,integrating numerical simulations,theoretical analyses,and field detections to investigate the stress distribution of SIETCS and the mechanisms of rock burst-induced vertical damage,subsequently validated in situ.The vertical stress in SIETCS is minimal,while horizontal stress is concentrated,leading to the formation of layered crack structures(LCS)that distribute above and below the roadways.Additionally,elastic energy significantly concentrates within the LCS.Axial dynamic compressive stress and vertical dynamic tensile stress along the LCS diminish its stability,readily triggering failure.During the LCS failure process,the stored energy is released,converting into kinetic energy required for coal body ejection after reaching the minimum energy for failure and dissipative energy,ultimately leading to rock burst-induced vertical damage in roadways.On-site detection and analysis within SIETCS,along with historical rock burst data,confirm the existence of LCS and its role in inducing vertical rock burst damage.This research establishes essential foundations for preventing rock bursts within SIETCS. 展开更多

Magnetoresistance(MR)is a pivotal transport phenomenon within the realm of condensed matter physics.In recent years,materials exhibiting extremely large unsaturated magnetoresistance(XMR),which are often potential topological materials,have garnered significant attention.In this study,we synthesized single crystals of ZrBi_(2) and performed electrical and specific heat measurements on them.The resistivity of ZrBi_(2) displays metallic behavior with a high residual resistance ratio.Notably,the MR of ZrBi_(2) reaches approximately 2.0×10^(3)%at 2 K and 16 T without saturation.Weak Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations with two frequencies were observed above 13.5 T,which correspond to 237 T and 663 T.Hall effect fitting yields nearly equal concentrations of electron and hole carriers with concentrations of approximately 10^(21)cm^(-3)and mobilities of approximately 5000 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1)at 2 K.The XMR could be attributed to the electron-hole compensation with high mobility. 展开更多

Extreme environments challenge the structural health monitoring of advanced equipment.In-situ dynamic tracking temperature is of particular value due to its enormous impact on material properties.However,the realization of such integrated temperature sensors typically requires complicated layer-by-layer molding and sintering processes including additional thermal barrier coatings.Herein,we report a laser-induced in-situ conductive passivation strategy for the fabrication of a thin-film based wide-range temperature sensor.The instantaneous thermal effect of laser irradiation creates crystalline conductive traces in response to temperature variations.Synchronously,it also allows the formation of an amorphous antioxidative layer without necessitating extra protective coatings.Such configuration enables precise real-time sensing across-50℃to 950℃following the Steinhart-Hart equation.It also exhibits durable performance with only 1.2%drift over 20 hours during long-term high-temperature,instant thermal shock,frequent wearing,and severe vibration.This in-situ,facile laser manufacturing strategy holds great promise in structural health monitoring and fault diagnosis for advanced equipment working in extreme environments. 展开更多

A numerical simulation was performed using the Thompson microphysics scheme to preliminarily investigate the features of the microphysical processes involved in the record-breaking rainfall event that occurred in Henan Province,China,on 20 July 2021.The simulation results showed that a strong meso-𝛾-scale vortical updraft was concurrent with the torrential rainfall.The main finding is that this event was characterized by typical midlatitude warm-rain processes.The simulation with the Thompson microphysics scheme further indicated that highly efficient collision-coalescence of cloud water to rainwater resulted in a considerably active rain droplet growth,leading to this record-breaking rainfall event. 展开更多

Temperature-Dependent Infrared Engineering for Extreme Environments:All-Dielectric Thermal Photonic Metamaterials Stable at 1873 K in Air

The development of infrared engineering technologies for extreme environments remains a formidable challenge due to the inherent trade-offs among optical performance,thermal stability,and mechanical integrity in thermal photonic metamaterials(TPMs).This work introduces a novel multi-obj ective design framework and demonstrates the design,fabrication,and validation of a TPM operating under extreme temperatures up to 1873 K.We have established a holistic design framework integrating temperaturedependent neural network and Pareto multi-obj ective optimization to co-optimize spectral response,component light-weighting,and structural efficiency.The framework achieves 100 times faster computation than genetic algorithms.The performance of the designed TPM was evaluated under various atmospheric models and detection distances.The TPM achieved a peak radiance suppression efficiency of 82%and a maximum attenuation of-7.4 dB at 1200-1500 K.Experimentally,we fabricated an all-dielectric TPM using a refractory TiO_(2)/BeO multilayer stack with only 5 layers and 2um total thickness.The optimized structure shows high reflectivity(0.62 at 3-5 um;0.48 at 8-14μm)for radiative suppression and high emissivity(0.87 at 5-8μm)for radiative cooling.The TPM withstands 1873 K for 12 h in air with less than 3%spectral drift,retaining excellent mechanical properties.On high-temperature components,it achieves 40-50%radiative suppression and 40-60 K(~10.1 kW m^(-2))radiative cooling at 1100 K,endures over 20 times thermal shock cycles(>150 K s^(-1),700-1500 K),and maintains stable performance over 5 cycles,with 78%visible and 98%microwave transmittance.This work establishes a new paradigm in the design and application of photonic materials for extreme environments. 展开更多

Focusing on civil aircraft flap skew detection design,this paper proposes a high-robustness monitoring design methodology to address insufficient monitor robustness that may trigger false alarms and disrupt airline operations.Based on flap skew detection principles and threshold design criteria,the threshold range is defined with upper limit of maximum deformation under aerodynamic load and lower limit of sensor error margin and nominal flight deformation.Since the complex loading conditions of maximum flap differential deformation(max Δλ)during normal flight cannot be theoretically determined,probabilistic methods are employed:Flight test data from hundreds of sorties are analyzed using generalized extreme value distribution.Confidence levels are verified via Kolmogorov-Smirnov(K-S)hypothesis testing.Then probability density function of max Δλis established.The false alarm rate is calculated through cumulative probability values of max Δλat varying thresholds.Boundary conditions for false alarm rate are determined by safety assessment and dispatch reliability analysis.The derived monitoring threshold is verified against finite element analysis predictions and iron bird rig test.The results confirm the methodology’s validity,meeting all design objectives. 展开更多

In this study,the effects of laser fields that can be achieved in the near future on cluster penetration probability and half-life are quantitatively investigated.The calculation results show that extreme laser fields can slightly change the cluster-decay half-life by affecting the penetration probability within a narrow range.Subsequently,we discuss the correlation between the change rate of the penetration probability and the tunneling path.The results indicate that for different parent nuclei emitting the same cluster,nuclei with longer tunneling paths are more easily affected by the laser fields.The shell effect on this correlation is also observed.In addition,the impact of laser fields on the penetration probability in any direction is investigated. 展开更多

This study investigated the characteristics and mechanisms of summer regional persistent extreme precipitation events(RPEPEs)over South China(SC)modulated by distinct intensity regimes of 10-30-day intraseasonal oscillation(ISO).Diagnostic analyses revealed that the spatiotemporal evolution of RPEPEs exhibits robust phase-locking with the 10-30-day intraseasonal precipitation.By classifying RPEPEs into strong-ISO(SRPEPE)and weak-ISO(WRPEPE)composites based on the amplitude of 10-30-day filtered precipitation,we demonstrate a 14.6%enhancement in peak precipitation intensity during SRPEPEs compared to WRPEPEs.These distinct precipitation regimes are governed by fundamentally different Rossby wave teleconnection patterns over Eurasia.During SRPEPEs,a robust southeastward-propagating 10-30-day Rossby wave train originating from the Barents Sea traverses midlatitude Eurasia,effectively perturbing the northwestern Pacific upper-level circulation and establishing a favorable dynamic environment over SC.In contrast,WRPEPEs are associated with weaker eastward-propagating wave trains constrained along the subtropical jet stream.The horizontal convergence of background moisture driven by 10-30-day winds significantly amplifies lower-tropospheric humidity during SRPEPEs.The thermal advection of background temperature by 10-30-day geostrophic winds enhances baroclinic instability and vertical motion,intensifying precipitation under these moisture conditions. 展开更多

Global Teleconnections of Extreme Rainfall Events in the Yellow River Basin

Extreme rainfall events(EREs)frequently hit the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River basin(YRB)during boreal summer.Recent observations have indicated that EREs exhibit teleconnection patterns across long spatial distances.This study investigated ERE teleconnections in the YRB using the Event Synchronization(ES)method in combination with Complex Network(CN)theory.EREs in the YRB are significantly synchronized with other regions from regional to global scales.Additionally,high-resolution CMIP6 models in general show better skill in capturing these characteristics compared to low-resolution models.A further examination shows that the spatial synchronization patterns exhibit pronounced timescale dependence.Significant ERE synchronizations between the YRB and Europe were uncovered,where the YRB lags Eastern Europe by 3-5 days and Western Europe by 5-7 days,with Rossby wave propagation playing a key role.Wave trains from Europe propagate downstream along the Eurasian jet,inducing anomalous circulations over the YRB that enhance vertical upward motion and moisture transport,ultimately triggering EREs.Two distinct wave trains are observed:one is associated with Eastern Europe-YRB synchronization,occurring in the midlatitude region;the other is linked to Western Europe-YRB synchronization,positioned at higher latitudes.Notably,17.5%of Eastern Europe-YRB synchronization cases and 17.0%of Western Europe-YRB cases overlap.Quantitative analysis indicates that the synchronized events between Eastern(Western)Europe and the YRB account for roughly 28%(30%)of EREs in the YRB.These findings are critical for better understanding ERE mechanisms,offering guidance for forecasting and early warning capabilities for EREs in the YRB. 展开更多

Objective:To analyze the clinical application value of autologous periosteum graft combined with platelet-rich plasma(PRP)in the treatment of long bone fractures in the extremities.Methods:A total of 40 patients with long bone fractures in the extremities admitted to Santai Hospital Affiliated to North Sichuan Medical College from January 2023 to January 2025 were included,including cases of upper extremity forearm fractures and lower extremity femoral and tibial fractures.The patients were evenly divided using a random number table,with the control group undergoing open reduction and internal fixation(ORIF)combined with autologous periosteum graft,and the observation group undergoing ORIF,autologous periosteum graft,and PRP injection.Surgical indicators,complication rates,excellent fracture healing rates,functional satisfaction,and joint range of motion were compared between the two groups.Results:The surgical indicators in the observation group were similar to those in the control group(p>0.05).The complication rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,while the excellent fracture healing rate and functional satisfaction were higher in the observation group(p<0.05).Conclusion:Autologous periosteum graft combined with PRP technology is safe and reliable for the treatment of long bone fractures in the extremities,with satisfactory clinical outcomes. 展开更多
