In this paper a method is developed to model the design process gene based on the extensible basic-element with the purpose of design process optimization and reuse. First, the principle of genetic engineering based design process optimization and reuse is put forward and analyzed. Second, the extensible basic-element model of the design process gene is established based on the models of the design process base and the base pair through analyzing the concept and structure of the design process gene and the extensible basic-element as well as its extensibility. Third, the features of divergence and scalability of the extensible basic-element model of the design process gene are discussed for carrying out the extension translation to the design process gene by way of inserting, deleting and updating design process bases. Finally, an example of building extensible basic-element models for the design process base, base pair and design process gene in mechanical product design and the mutation process of the design process gene in airplane design is presented which demonstrates the application of the method proposed in this paper. 展开更多

The architecture consists of extensible service router, active extensible components server and key distribution center (KDC). Users can write extensible service components with programming interface. In this paper, the authors present new software architecture to be applied to extensible services router. The novel feature of the architecture is the ability to dynamically load and configure extensible components at run time. Each component implements one function such as packets classification, packets scheduling and routing protocol. We design a simple configuration language (ESRCL) to configure and manage the router. The architecture can be configured according to the packet flows. At present, a prototype system based on highly efficient router operating system (HEROS) has been finished. 展开更多

Exploring the Usefulness of Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) for Reporting Intellectual Capital (IC): Evidence From Italian Preparers

Intellectual capital disclosure (ICD) has experienced a substantial increase in recent decades and many frameworks and guidelines have been issued to provide directions with regard to what constitutes "good" ICD. Companies can use Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) to "build" their own intellectual capital (IC) reports. This digital format has both technical and operating characteristics suitable for reporting non-financial information. This paper reports the findings of a survey of the views of 37 Italian preparers on the scope, the taxonomy, and the assurance of IC reporting via XBRL. It was found that respondents favor the adoption of an IC reporting framework and the standardization of IC indicators. Preferences reveal uncertainty about the level of flexibility for tagging IC information, while supporting the main benefits of XBRL and indicating a marked inclination for tagged information certified by an independent audit. Overall, despite a low awareness of XBRL, the importance placed on standardization of IC information and on the usefulness of the comparability and the speed attribute of XBRL supports the appealing features of this language for developing IC reporting. 展开更多

This paper introduces a novel tool—the Framework for Extensible Application Testing (FEAT), implemented by the author and applicable for automatic generation and execution of test cases. The paper discusses system requirements, design, architecture and modes of operation. It also contains a detailed comparison of the FEAT framework with existing test environments, focusing in particular on the STAF/STAX framework. The final section is devoted to experimental research into the applicability and efficiency of the presented tools in various projects and configurations, as reflected by quality metrics. 展开更多

The martensite start temperature is a critical parameter for steels with metastable austenite.Although numerous models have been developed to predict the martensite start(Ms)temperature,the complexity of the martensitic transformation greatly limits their performance and extensibility.In this work,we apply deep data mining of thermodynamic calculations and deep learning to develop a generic model for Msprediction.Deep data mining was used to establish a hierarchical database with three levels of information.Then,a convolutional neural network model,which can accurately treat the hierarchical data structure,was used to obtain the final model.By integrating thermodynamic calculations,traditional machine learning and deep learning modeling,the final predictor model shows excellent generalizability and extensibility,i.e.model performance both within and beyond the composition range of the original database.The effects of 15 alloying elements were considered successfully using the proposed methodology.The work suggests that,with the help of deep data mining considering the physical mechanisms,deep learning methods can partially mitigate the challenge with limited data in materials science and provide a means for solving complex problems with small databases. 展开更多

Constructing an Extensible Building Damage Dataset via Semi-supervised Fine-Tuning across 12 Natural Disasters

Post-disaster building damage assessment(BDA)is vital for emergency response.Deep learning(DL)models are increasingly being applied to achieve quick and automatic BDA on disaster remote sensing imagery,and their performance largely relies on the knowledge base offered by the dataset.However,constructing a BDA dataset requires intensive expert labeling work and a massive time,leading to a substantial lag in dataset enrichment and model development in the current research field.To address this,this paper introduces a new multidisaster BDA benchmark,the extensible building damage(EBD)dataset,which includes over 18,000 pre-and post-disaster image pairs from 12 recent disaster events,covering over 175,000 building annotations with 4-level damage labels.Unlike previous BDA datasets,EBD follows a semiautomatic labeling workflow and has reduced construction time by 80% compared to full manual labeling.In this process,the DL model served as the machine expert to perform automatic labeling.It was pretrained on the xView2 building damage dataset and then transferred to each new disaster scenario via semi-supervised fine-tuning(SS-FT).SS-FT not only leverages a few labeled samples for supervised fine-tuning but also incorporates both labeled and unlabeled samples into pixel-level contrastive learning.Results demonstrate that the DL model has considerably improved annotation performance under SS-FT.A series of analyses have proven EBD’s building damage feature diversity,practical value in emergency mapping,and knowledge enrichment to the existing benchmark.EBD advances data renewal for natural disaster scenarios and supports the application of artificial intelligence in emergency response efforts. 展开更多

Rateless Polar Codes with Unequal Error Protection Property

Mobile communications are reaching out to every aspect of our daily life,necessitating highefficiency data transmission and support for diverse data types and communication scenarios.Polar codes have emerged as a promising solution due to their outstanding error-correction performance and low complexity.Unequal error protection(UEP)involves nonuniform error safeguarding for distinct data segments,achieving a fine balance between error resilience and resource allocation,which ultimately enhancing system performance and efficiency.In this paper,we propose a novel class of UEP rateless polar codes.The codes are designed based on matrix extension of polar codes,and elegant mapping and duplication operations are designed to achieve UEP property while preserving the overall performance of conventional polar codes.Superior UEP performance is attained without significant modifications to conventional polar codes,making it straightforward for compatibility with existing polar codes.A theoretical analysis is conducted on the block error rate and throughput efficiency performance.To the best of our knowledge,this work provides the first theoretical performance analysis of UEP rateless polar codes.Simulation results show that the proposed codes significantly outperform existing polar coding schemes in both block error rate and throughput efficiency. 展开更多

Accurately recognizing driver distraction is critical for preventing traffic accidents,yet current detection models face two persistent challenges.First,distractions are often fine-grained,involving subtle cues such as brief eye closures or partial yawns,which are easily missed by conventional detectors.Second,in real-world scenarios,drivers frequently exhibit overlapping behaviors,such as simultaneously holding a cup,closing their eyes,and yawning,leading tomultiple detection boxes and degradedmodel performance.Existing approaches fail to robustly address these complexities,resulting in limited reliability in safety critical applications.To overcome these pain points,we propose YOLO-Drive,a novel framework that enhances YOLO-based driver monitoring with EfficientViM and Polarized Spectral–Spatial Attention(PSSA)modules.Efficient ViMprovides lightweight yet powerful global–local feature extraction,enabling accurate recognition of subtle driver states.PSSA further amplifies discriminative features across spatial and spectral domains,ensuring robust separation of concurrent distraction cues.By explicitly modeling fine-grained and overlapping behaviors,our approach delivers significant improvements in both precision and robustness.Extensive experiments on benchmark driver distraction datasets demonstrate that YOLO-Drive consistently out-performs stateof-the-art models,achieving higher detection accuracy while maintaining real-time efficiency.These results validate YOLO-Drive as a practical and reliable solution for advanced driver monitoring systems,addressing long-standing challenges of subtle cue recognition and multi-cue distraction detection. 展开更多
