Theoretical and exploratory research on sustainability mental model of the public in China:based on a typical survey in Guangdong province

This article aims to investigate the public's sustainability mental model(SMM), which can reveal the sustainability dilemma from the public respective, other than enterprise or government. In this article, SMM is defined as one's cognitive structure, thinking mode, and behavior tendency when someone deals with sustainability issues. After theoretical analysis, the authors developed reliable and valid measures systematically and conducted a typical survey with 581 participants from college students' families in Guangdong province in China. Based on those samples, the author used the exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to construct a measurement model of SMM, which includes three dimensions, i.e. sustainable cognition, sustainable thinking, and sustainable behavior intention. According to SMM survey and clustering analysis, the results indicate that SMM of those participants is inactive. Even though those samples do not represent the whole country comprehensively, but this survey was sampled typically and they came from around China. So, the authors consider the SMM scores can reflect Chinese people to some extent, leading to the assumption that SMM of Chinese people is not active presently. 展开更多

Risk Factors for Imported Severe Malaria Cases—China,2019–2023 被引量:1

Objective:To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of imported malaria in China from 2019 to 2023 and to explore risk factors for severe malaria cases,thereby providing a theoretical basis for early clinical identification and intervention of severe malaria.Methods:National malaria case data were retrospectively collected from 2019 to 2023 through the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention Parasitic Disease Prevention and Control Information System.Study subjects were divided into severe and non-severe malaria cases,and the characteristics of both groups were analyzed.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to explore risk factors for developing severe malaria.Results:From 2019 to 2023,a total of 7,892 imported malaria cases were reported nationwide,including 673 severe cases and 7,219 non-severe cases.There were 7,353(93.2%)male and 539(6.8%)female patients.Compared to non-severe malaria patients,severe malaria patients were older(43.9±10.4 years),predominantly originated from Africa(643,95.5%),had a higher frequency of recent overseas residence within the past month(609,90.5%),were typically infected with P.falciparum(527,78.3%),and had a higher mortality rate(47,7.0%).Severe cases had longer median time intervals from symptom onset to medical visit(4 days),from visit to diagnosis(2 days),and from diagnosis to treatment(2 days),and a longer median medication time(7 days),all P<0.05.Conclusions:This study identified risk factors for severe malaria and recommends focusing on monitoring patients’age,infection source,Plasmodium species,time from onset to hospital visit,and recent history of foreign residence.These findings provide a valuable reference for effectively managing malaria cases and reducing the incidence of severe malaria in the future. 展开更多

Analysis of risk factors and establishment of prediction model for immune checkpoint inhibitor related myocarditis and major adverse cardiovascular events

Objective To explore the risk factors of major adverse cardiovascular events(MACEs)in immune checkpoint inhibitor(ICI)related myocarditissand establish a predictive model.Methods This was a retrospective case-control study.Tumor patients diagnosed with ICI related myocarditis in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from May 2019 to August 2023 were selected and divided into non-MACE group and MACE group based on whether MACE occurred.Clinical and imaging data of the two groups were collected.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were used to analyze the risk factors for MACE in patients with ICI related myocarditis.According to the results of multivariate logistic regression analysis,R 4.1.0O software was used to construct the MACE risk prediction model for these patients and draw a nomogram.The receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the prediction ability of the prediction model.Results A total of 35 patients with ICI related myocarditis,aged(63.9±8.2)years,were included,including 28 males(80%).There were 18 patients in the non-MACE group and 17 patients in the MACE group.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that elevated neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(OR=1.115,95%CI 1.007-1.235,P=0.036)and ST-T segment changes(0R=24.942,95%CI 1.239-502.194,P=0.036)were risk factors for MACE in patients with ICI related myocarditis.The receiver operating characteristic curve indicated that the area under the curve of the prediction model was 0.967(95%CI 0.916-1.000,P<0.001),with a sensitivity of 88.2%and specificity of 100%,demonstrating good predictive ability.Conclusion Elevated neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio and ST-T segment change are independent risk factors for MACE in patients with ICI related myocarditis.Risk prediction model based on the above two indicators can assist in the early identification and individualized intervention of ICI related myocarditis patients. 展开更多

The identification of latent risk factors that can induce to health risks or an abnormal status is an important task in healthcare data analyses.In recent years,health analyses based on neural network models have been applied widely.However,such analysis processes are blackbox and the results lack explainability.Some approaches by constructing a domain model may tackle these issues.However,domain knowledge from an expert is required.In this study,we propose an exploratory and interpretable approach to estimating latent health risk factors without relying on domain knowledge,in which feature selection and causal discovery are used to construct a domain model for uncovering complex relationships in health and medical data.An evaluation experiment conducted on two datasets by comparing the proposed approach with four baselines demonstrated that the proposed approach outperformed the baselines in terms of model fitness.Furthermore,the number of model parameters in our method was smaller than that in the baselines,which reduced model complexity.Moreover,the analysis process of the proposed approach was visible and explainable,which improved the interpretability of the analysis processes. 展开更多
