Neural correlates of attentional switching dysfunction in major depressive disorder:Evidence from an event-related potential study with a dual-task paradigm 被引量:1

BACKGROUND Research has consistently demonstrated that patients with major depressive disorder(MDD)exhibit attentional switching dysfunction,and the dual-task paradigm has emerged as a valuable tool for probing cognitive deficits.However,the neuroelectrophysiological mechanism underlying this deficit has not been clarified.AIM To investigate the event-related potential(ERP)characteristics of attentional switching dysfunction and further explore the neuroelectrophysiological mechanism of the cognitive processing deficits underlying attentional switching dysfunction in MDD.METHODS The participants included 29 MDD patients and 29 healthy controls(HCs).The ERPs of the participants were measured while they performed the dual-task para digm.The behavioral and ERP N100,P200,P300,and late positive potential(LPP)data were analyzed.RESULTS This study revealed greater accuracy in HCs and slower reaction times(RTs)in MDD patients.Angry facial pictures led to lower accuracy.The results also revealed shorter RTs for happy facial pictures and the longest RTs for the 500-ms stimulus onset asynchrony.With respect to ERP characteristics,happy facial pictures and neutral facial pictures evoked higher amplitudes.The N100,P200,P300,and LPP amplitudes at Pz were the highest.MDD patients had lower P200 mean amplitudes and LPP amplitudes than HCs did.CONCLUSION In conclusion,MDD patients exhibited abnormal ERP characteristics evoked by the dual-task paradigm,which could be the neural correlates of the known abnormalities in attentional switching in patients with MDD.These results provide valuable insights into the understanding of the neural mechanisms of attentional switching function and may guide targeted interventions in patients with MDD. 展开更多

Steady state and small signal analysis was carried out on the converter dynamic equations using the method of Harmonic balance Technique. The steady state variables and their respective ripple quantities obtained were plotted against duty ratio D. In the data encryption standard (DES) algorithm, there exist several bit-switching functions, including permutations, expansion, and permuted choices. They are generally presented in the form of matrixes and realized by using table look-up technique in the implementation of the cryptosystem. This paper presents explicit formulas for the initial permutation IP, its inverse IP-1 , the expansion function E, and the permuted choice PC_1. It also gives the program realizations of these functions in C++ applying these formulas. With the advantage of the omission of the storage space for these matrixes and the tedious inputs of tables in the implementations of DES, our experimental results shows that the explicit formulas are useful in some situations, such as wireless sensor networks where the memory capacity is limited, especially when the size of file for encrypting is not too large, preferably smaller than 256KB. 展开更多

We discussed conditions on suppression on functional system with Markovian switching in our previous work: “Suppression of Functional System with Markovian Switching”. Based on it, by slightly modifying and adding some conditions, we get this paper. In this paper, we will study a functional system whose coefficient satisfies the local Lipschitz condition and the one-sided polynomial growth condition under Markovian switching. Sliding mode control(SMC)is a widely adopted control technology known for its robustness and simplicity.The essence of SMC is to use discontinuous control to drive a system into a pre-defined motion,called the sliding mode,which is designed with desirable dynamical properties.In the sliding mode,the controlled system is insensitive to the matched uncertainties and disturbances.Most SMC theory and methods have been developed based on the dynamical systems in the continuous-time domain,where switching functions play a critical role.Ideal switching is supposed to be instantaneous,activating as soon as the switching condition is met.However,in practice,switching mechanisms are affected by imperfections such as time delays,unmodeled dynamics,defects,digitization effects,and actuation limitations,which can degrade the salient properties of SMC.Understanding these effects and developing mitigation strategies are essential for industrial applications.Furthermore,the advent of networked control environments presents new challenges like limited communication bandwidth,latency and cyberattack,which have seen the emergence of the event-triggered SMC recently.Despite these significant advances,there is a lack of comprehensive studies which examine the commonalities and distinctions of utilizing switching in SMC across the continuous-time and discrete-time domains and beyond.This paper investigates the role of switching in SMC from a spatio-temporal perspective,considering both state-space and time aspects.The aim is to facilitate better understanding of its effects and misbehaviors,and to unlock its full potential for future applications.The interplay between SMC methods in the continuous-time and discrete-time domains is analyzed,and their shared principles and unique challenges are identified.Furthermore,important technical issues relating to switching across these time domains are explored,and several myths and pitfalls in their theory and applications are depicted.The relationships of SMC with other switching-based control systems such as switched control systems,fuzzy control systems,and event-triggered control systems are discussed.The impact of networked control environments on SMC in the continuous-time and discrete-time domains is also examined.Finally,key challenges and opportunities are outlined for future work in SMC and beyond. 展开更多

Cointegration test with time dummy variables results show that there is not only long-run equilibrium relationship between money demand and macroeconomic variables, but also structural breaks in this equilibrium relationships. Least squares, state-space, and Marcov switching methods show that there also has been instability (or regime shifts) of parameters in money demand, especially over 1997 crisis and the early 2000s. This fact implies that monetary policy for stabilization might encounter big problems due to change (instability) of money demand. 展开更多

Then, one deals with power series of time pulses. The impulse switching functions which are orthogonal ones can be derived from these series. The new impulse switching functions are created using Z-transform, inverse Z-transform and numerical series/sequences. The parameter uncertainty is assumed to be norm-bounded. First, by using the switched Lyapunov function approach, some new sufficient conditions ensuring the nominal discrete-time SLS system to be regular, casual and asymptotically stable for arbitrary switching laws are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Then, the robust admissibility condition for the uncertain discrete-time SLS systems is presented. The obtained results can be viewed as an extension of previous works on the switched Lyapunov function approach from the regular switched linear systems to the switched linear singular cases. Numerical examples show the reduced conservatism and effectiveness of the proposed conditions. 展开更多

These results are presented for both continuous-time and discrete-time domains. Controllers are designed by means of linear matrix inequalities. This paper tackles the robust leaderless Time-Varying Formation(TVF)control problem for the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)swarm system with Lipschitz nonlinear dynamics,external disturbances and directed switching topologies.In comparison with the previous achievements on formation control problems,the UAV swarm system with Lipschitz nonlinear dynamics can accomplish the pre-designed TVF while tracking a pre-given trajectory which is produced by a virtual leader UAV in the presence of external disturbances.Firstly,by applying the consensus theory,a TVF controller is developed with the local neighborhood status information,the errors of real time status of all UAVs,the expected formation configuration and the pre-given trajectory under directed switching topologies.Secondly,through a certain matrix variable substitution,the UAV swarm system formation control issue is transformed into a lower dimensional asymptotically stable control issue.Thirdly,by introducing the minimum dwell time,the design steps of formation control algorithm are further acquired.In the meantime,the stability of the UAV swarm system is analyzed through the construction of a piecewise continuous Lyapunov functional and via the Linear Matrix Inequalities(LMIs)method.Finally,the comparison results of a numerical simulation are elaborated to verify the validity of the proposed approach. 展开更多

The robust controller design problem for switched polytopic systems under asynchronous switching is addressed.These systems exist in many aviation applications,such as dynamical systems involving rapid variations.A switched polytopic system is established to describe the highly maneuverable technology vehicle within the full flight envelope and a robust dynamic output feedback control method is designed for the switched polytopic system.Combining the Lyapunov-like function method and the average dwell time method,a sufficient condition is derived for the switched polytopic system with asynchronous switching and data dropout to be globally,uniformly and asymptotically stable in terms of linear matrix inequality.The robust dynamic output feedback controller is then applied to the highly maneuverable technology vehicle to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.The simulation results show that the angle of attack tracking performance is acceptable over the time history and the control surface responses are all satisfying along the full flight trajectory. 展开更多

A model reference adaptive control(MRAC)with smooth switching scheme was proposed for piecewise linear systems,and the method was utilized in turbofan engine control to avoid the discontinuity of control input.In this scheme,each sub-region of the operating envelope had its own MRAC controller,and smooth indicator function based smooth switching scheme was introduced to switch multiple controllers smoothly at the boundary of adjacent sub-regions.The Lyapunov stability analysis indicated that the proposed smooth switching scheme can guarantee the convergence of the closed-loop system during the controllers switching.The tracking error system was converted into a switched system to analyze the global stability of the closed-loop system.The advantage of the method was that the chattering of system output and instability caused by asynchronous switching can be eliminated.The simulation illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme in comparison with the existing MRAC controller with gain scheduling for turbofan engine. 展开更多

This paper addresses the problem of global practical stabilization of discrete-time switched affine systems via statedependent switching rules.Several attempts have been made to solve this problem via different types of a common quadratic Lyapunov function and an ellipsoid.These classical results require either the quadratic Lyapunov function or the employed ellipsoid to be of the centralized type.In some cases,the ellipsoids are defined dependently as the level sets of a decentralized Lyapunov function.In this paper,we extend the existing results by the simultaneous use of a general decentralized Lyapunov function and a decentralized ellipsoid parameterized independently.The proposed conditions provide less conservative results than existing works in the sense of the ultimate invariant set of attraction size.Two different approaches are proposed to extract the ultimate invariant set of attraction with a minimum size,i.e.,a purely numerical method and a numerical-analytical one.In the former,both invariant and attractiveness conditions are imposed to extract the final set of matrix inequalities.The latter is established on a principle that the attractiveness of a set implies its invariance.Thus,the stability conditions are derived based on only the attractiveness property as a set of matrix inequalities with a smaller dimension.Illustrative examples are presented to prove the satisfactory operation of the proposed stabilization methods. 展开更多

The main idea is to design an output feedback bounded controller and a predictive controller for each subsystem using high-order differential state observers and Lyapunov functions, to derive a suitable switched law to stabilize the closed-loop subsystem, and to provide an explicitly characterized set of initial conditions. For the whole switched system, based on the high-order differentiator, a suitable switched law is designed to ensure the whole closed-loop’s stability. The time-varying network topology can significantly affect the stability of multi-agent systems.This paper examines the stability of leader-follower multi-agent systems with general linear dynamics and switching network topologies,which have applications in the platooning of connected vehicles.The switching interaction topology is modeled as a class of directed graphs in order to describe the information exchange between multi-agent systems,where the eigenvalues of every associated matrix are required to be positive real.The Hurwitz criterion and the Riccati inequality are used to design a distributed control law and estimate the convergence speed of the closed-loop system.A sufficient condition is provided for the stability of multi-agent systems under switching topologies.A common Lyapunov function is formulated to prove closed-loop stability for the directed network with switching topologies.The result is applied to a typical cyber-physical system—that is,a connected vehicle platoon—which illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

Torque ripple is an inherent property of switched reluctance motor(SRM),which seriously affects the control performance and application of the motor.This paper proposes two torque ripple suppression control strategies based on torque-sharing function(TSF).According to the symmetry characteristics of the flux linkage and rotor position curve family,a fourth-order Fourier series is used to fit the SRM flux linkage analytical model.The coefficient of each harmonic term of the flux linkage model is a function related to current,expressed by a sixth-order polynomial.The torque analytical formula can be derived from the flux linkage model.The torque error is calculated via the identified torque model and is compensated through TSF controller in order to reduce torque ripple.The torque model can also be used to establish the torque loop to achieve accurate tracking of the TSF reference torque to reduce torque ripple.Digital simulation was conducted,followed by the implementation on a SRM test bench using a 28335DSP as the master control chip.The experimental results are consistent with the simulation results,and indicate the effectiveness of the proposed schemes. 展开更多
