Twenty-three non-smoking students in the study had inhalation exposu...The present report evaluates the effects of formaldehyde (FA) exposure on peripheral lymphocytes by using heth genetic and immunological parameters. Twenty-three non-smoking students in the study had inhalation exposure to 0.508 ±0. 299 mg/m3 of FA for a Period of 8 weeks (3h × 3 times each week) during anatomy classes. As for composition of lymphocyte subsets after FA exposare,significant increase was found in the percentage of CD19(B cells), while sighficant decrease was observed in CD3(total T cells), CD4(T helper-inducer cells), and CD8(T cytotoxic-suppressior cells) with a P<0 .01. Increase in the ratio of T-helper-inducer cells to T-cytotoxic-suppressor cells (T4 / T8) was also observed with statistical sighcance after exposure (P < 0.001). In the meanwhile,no significant difference (P > 0 .05) was reported between lymphocyte prolifendion rate and sisterchromatid exchange (SCE) at the exposure level and duration. It is suggested that the lymphocyte subsets may be most susceptible to the effects of FA, though a single immunological endpoint is rarely related with pathophysiological interpretation.展开更多
A comprehensive understanding of energy and water cycle characteristics in different regions is crucial for studying local land-atmosphere interactions and predicting regional weather and climate change.To explore sim...A comprehensive understanding of energy and water cycle characteristics in different regions is crucial for studying local land-atmosphere interactions and predicting regional weather and climate change.To explore similarities and differences in land-atmosphere energy and water exchanges between two regions-the Tibetan Plateau(TP),characterized by higher elevation and a drier climate,and the Yangtze River Region(YRR),with lower elevation and a wetter climate-this study analyzed and compared the radiation components and the turbulent heat fluxes at eight sites covering various land-cover types,including alpine desert and alpine grassland on the TP,as well as urban and grassland on the YRR.The following results were obtained:(1)Over the TP,the annual mean incoming and outgoing shortwave radiation are 251.3 and 59.6 W m^(-2),which are 1.70 and 2.87 times the values in the YRR,respectively.The incoming and outgoing longwave radiation are 231.5 and 338.0 W m^(-2),which are 0.64 and 0.83 times those in the YRR,respectively.However,the difference in net radiation is relatively small.(2)In grassland over both the TP and YRR,the latent heat fluxes have higher values of 35.0 and 38.8 W m^(-2),respectively,leading to a higher heating efficiency.Alpine desert has the highest sensible heat flux(SH)value of 42.1 W m^(-2),due to sparse vegetation and lower soil moisture,followed closely by urban land cover with an average SH value of 38.2 W m^(-2).These results highlight the different characteristics of land-atmosphere interaction across different land covers in different climatic contexts,laying the groundwork for future investigations of additional land-atmosphere coupling processes.展开更多

Some have claimed that there would be more foreign companies listed on American stock exchanges if foreign companies could use International Financial Reporting Standards （IFRS） instead of American generally accepte...Some have claimed that there would be more foreign companies listed on American stock exchanges if foreign companies could use International Financial Reporting Standards （IFRS） instead of American generally accepted accounting principles （GAAP） and could be exempted from some of the disclosure requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission and of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. In spite of these requirements, as of December 31, 2007, there are approximately 421 non-U.S, companies valued at $11.4 trillion listed on the New York Stock Exchange （NYSE）. Of these 421 companies, 41 companies are from China. This study examines the reasons for Chinese companies choosing to list on the New York Stock Exchange and their experiences with incremental disclosure and listing requirements on the Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, and New York stock exchanges. The lesson for foreign companies everywhere should be that foreign companies should search for those cross listings adding value and not be searching for countries and stock exchanges with weak disclosure and listing requirements.展开更多

As for composition of lymphocyte subsets after FA exposare,significant increase was found in the percentage of CD19(B cells), while sighficant decrease was observed in CD3(total T cells), CD4(T helper-inducer cells), and CD8(T cytotoxic-suppressior cells) with a P<0 .01. Increase in the ratio of T-helper-inducer cells to T-cytotoxic-suppressor cells (T4 / T8) was also observed with statistical sighcance after exposure (P < 0.001). In the meanwhile,no significant difference (P > 0 .05) was reported between lymphocyte prolifendion rate and sisterchromatid exchange (SCE) at the exposure level and duration. It is suggested that the lymphocyte subsets may be most susceptible to the effects of FA, though a single immunological endpoint is rarely related with pathophysiological interpretation.

文摘A comprehensive understanding of energy and water cycle characteristics in different regions is crucial for studying local land-atmosphere interactions and predicting regional weather and climate change.To explore similarities and differences in land-atmosphere energy and water exchanges between two regions-the Tibetan Plateau(TP),characterized by higher elevation and a drier climate,and the Yangtze River Region(YRR),with lower elevation and a wetter climate-this study analyzed and compared the radiation components and the turbulent heat fluxes at eight sites covering various land-cover types,including alpine desert and alpine grassland on the TP,as well as urban and grassland on the YRR.The following results were obtained:(1)Over the TP,the annual mean incoming and outgoing shortwave radiation are 251.3 and 59.6 W m^(-2),which are 1.70 and 2.87 times the values in the YRR,respectively.The incoming and outgoing longwave radiation are 231.5 and 338.0 W m^(-2),which are 0.64 and 0.83 times those in the YRR,respectively.However,the difference in net radiation is relatively small.(2)In grassland over both the TP and YRR,the latent heat fluxes have higher values of 35.0 and 38.8 W m^(-2),respectively,leading to a higher heating efficiency.Alpine desert has the highest sensible heat flux(SH)value of 42.1 W m^(-2),due to sparse vegetation and lower soil moisture,followed closely by urban land cover with an average SH value of 38.2 W m^(-2).These results highlight the different characteristics of land-atmosphere interaction across different land covers in different climatic contexts,laying the groundwork for future investigations of additional land-atmosphere coupling processes.
文摘The proposal of the“One Belt One Road”initiative has brought historic opportunities for media exchanges between China and the Middle East,and has also put forward higher requirements for media cooperation between the two sides.At present,media exchanges between China and the Middle East have made positive progress,but there are still some problems.To do a good job in media exchange and cooperation between China and the Middle East,we should start with the implementation and improvement of existing mechanisms,the transformation of media working methods and concepts,the broadening of communication channels,the concern for interests,and the strengthening of personnel training,so as to continuously improve the effectiveness of media exchange and cooperation between the two sides and promote the healthy development of bilateral relations.
文摘Some have claimed that there would be more foreign companies listed on American stock exchanges if foreign companies could use International Financial Reporting Standards （IFRS） instead of American generally accepted accounting principles （GAAP） and could be exempted from some of the disclosure requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission and of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. In spite of these requirements, as of December 31, 2007, there are approximately 421 non-U.S, companies valued at $11.4 trillion listed on the New York Stock Exchange （NYSE）. Of these 421 companies, 41 companies are from China. This study examines the reasons for Chinese companies choosing to list on the New York Stock Exchange and their experiences with incremental disclosure and listing requirements on the Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, and New York stock exchanges. The lesson for foreign companies everywhere should be that foreign companies should search for those cross listings adding value and not be searching for countries and stock exchanges with weak disclosure and listing requirements.
