In order to establish grading standards of evaluation indices for sour flavor of apples, 10 indices of samples from 106 apple cultivars were tested, including: malic acid(Mal), oxalic acid(Oxa), citric acid(Cit), lactic acid(Lac), succinic acid(Suc), fumaric acid(Fum), total organic acids(To A, the sum of the six organic acids tested), titratable acid(TiA), acidity value(AcV), and pH value. For most of the cultivars studied(85.8%), the order of the organic acid contents in apples was Mal〉Oxa〉Cit〉Lac〉Suc〉Fum. Mal was the dominant organic acid, on average, accounting for 94.5% of To A. Among the 10 indices, the dispersion of pH value was the smallest with a coefficient of variation of only 8.2%, while the coefficients of variation of the other nine indices were larger, ranging between 31 and 66%. There were significant linear relationships between Mal and two indices(ToA and AcV) as well as between ToA and AcV. There were significant logarithmic relationships between pH value and four indices: Mal, TiA, ToA, and AcV. All the equations had very high fitting accuracy and can be used to accurately predict related indices. According to this study, Mal, ToA, and AcV of apple were normally distributed, TiA was close to normally distributed, whereas pH value had a skewed distribution. Using the fitted normal distribution curves, the grading standards of Mal, TiA, ToA, and AcV were established. The grading node values of pH value were obtained using the logarithmic relationship between pH value and Mal. The grading standards of these five indices can be used to evaluate the sour flavor of apple. This study provides a scientific basis for evaluating apple flavor and selecting apple cultivars. 展开更多

Stratified air distribution(STRAD)systems have been intensively investigated in recent decades for their energy-saving potential and good indoor air quality performance.However,the evaluation indices used to optimize STRAD systems and the normalization methods for weight calculation vary from one research to another.This study aims to investigate the impacts of evaluation indices on the optimal return vent height of a room cooled by an impinging jet ventilation system(one type of STRAD system).The effects of several widely used normalization methods(i.e.,vector normalization,sum normalization,min-max normalization,and no normalization)on indices weights are investigated.The evaluation indices are cooling coil load(Q_(coil)),energy-saving potential(ΔQ_(coil)),mean age of air(MAA),CO_(2) mass fraction,temperature difference between the head and ankles(ΔT_(0.1-1.1)),predicted mean vote(PMV),predicted percentage of dissatisfied(PPD),and draft rate(DR).The multi-criteria optimization method is the entropy-based technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution(E-TOPSIS).As a result,the min-max normalization method evens the weight of each index and results in unreasonable relative weights.Consequently,the raw matrix(i.e.,the normalization is omitted)is suggested for weight calculation.Among these indices,ΔT_(0.1-1.1) and PPD play critical roles.WithoutΔT_(0.1-1.1),the optimal return vent height changes from mid-level to near-floor,while without PPD,it changes to near-ceiling.Another important result is that the Q_(coil) plays the most trivial role,followed by MAA and DR.Therefore,the optimal return vent height is not determined by energy-saving performance but by performances of thermal comfort. 展开更多

China’s urbanization has entered a mid-to-late phase,and is characterized by high-density urban engineering projects that form systems coupled to geotechnical environments.These systems exhibit significant vulnerability due to strong spatiotemporal coupling,which hampers sustainable urban development.Traditional approaches to urban engineering design,construction,and maintenance tend to focus on individual projects and lack the ability to comprehensively evaluate system-level sustainability.Thus,with current methods,it is difficult to optimize the renewal and operation of high-density urban engineering systems.In this study,the constituent elements and key features of high-density urban engineering systems are discussed,and urban engineering system sustainability evaluation indicators are comprehensively reviewed.Viewed from perspectives of resilience,low-carbon development,and ecological impact,66 performance indicators describing urban engineering systems are selected.The decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory(DEMATEL)-based analytic network process(DANP)method and the entropy weight method(EWM)are utilized to calculate these indicators’subjective and objective weights,respectively.Furthermore,the coupling relationships between evaluation indicators are explored,aiding the construction of an urban engineering sustainability evaluation index system.Finally,empirical analysis is conducted across six megacities in China(Tianjin,Hangzhou,Shanghai,Wuhan,Chongqing,and Shenzhen)to validate the effectiveness of the evaluation indicators.The findings reveal significant imbalances in the sustainability of urban engineering systems in China.Accordingly,potential strategies and indicators for targeted enhancement of these systems are discussed. 展开更多

Reducing raw materials consumption(RMC)in electric arc furnace(EAF)steelmaking process is beneficial to the reduction in resource and energy consumption.The conventional indicator of evaluating RMC only focuses on EAF inputs and outputs,neglecting the associations between smelting operations and RMC.Traditional methods of reducing RMC rely on manual experience and lack a standard operation guidance.A method based on association rules mining and metallurgical mechanism(ARM-MM)was proposed.ARM-MM proposed an improved evaluation indicator of RMC and the indicator independently showed the associations between smelting operations and RMC.On the basis,1265 heats of real EAF data were used to obtain the operation guidance for RMC reduction.According to the ratio of hot metal(HM)in charge metals,data were divided into all dataset,low HM ratio dataset,medium HM ratio dataset,and high HM ratio dataset.ARM algorithm was used in each dataset to obtain specific operation guidance.The real average RMC under all dataset,medium HM ratio dataset,and high HM ratio dataset was reduced by 279,486,and 252 kg/heat,respectively,when obtained operation guidance was applied. 展开更多

Considering the difficulty of fuzzy synthetic evaluation method in calculation of the multiple factors and ignorance of the relationship among evaluating objects, a new weight evaluation process using entropy method was introduced. This improved method for determination of weight of the evaluating indicators was applied in water quality assessment of the Three Gorges reservoir area. The results showed that this method was favorable for fuzzy synthetic evaluation when there were more than one evaluating objects. One calculation was enough for calculating every monitoring point. Compared with the original evaluation method, the method predigested the fuzzy synthetic evaluation process greatly and the evaluation results are more reasonable. 展开更多

To scientifically evaluate the equipment system of systems(SoS)contribution rate,a contribution rate calculation method based on a structural equation model(SEM)is proposed in this paper.The connotation and evaluation process of the equipment SoS contribution rate were redefined and standardized.To solve the existing problems in the application of the original contribution rate formula,a modified contribution rate calculation formula is proposed.Finally,the contribution rate evaluation index was divided into latent and explicit variables.The measurement and structural equations in the SEM were used to calculate and analyze the latent variables.The simulation results show that the number of defense lines of air defense weapon equipment has a greater impact on the linear configuration than the group configuration.When the number of K-type air defense weapons is sufficient,the two-layer linear configuration should be adopted with 20 air defense weapon systems.When the number of K-type air defense weapons is insufficient,the single-layer group configuration should be adopted with 12 air defense weapon systems. 展开更多

With the intensi fed impact of human activities,most lakes have been severely disturbed and the lake ecosystem has been seriously damaged,which exerted a great impact on the living envi-ronment of human beings in the lake basins.The health of the lake ecosystem has gradually become one of the hot issues in recent years.In this study,the water resources carrying capacity(WRCC)was used to reveal the chain rel ationship between human activities and water environ-ment in the economic dewelopment of the Dianchi Lake Basin in Kunming City of China during 2005-2015.Specifically,we chose 25 ewaluation indicators related to the water environment and socialeconomic activities,classified them into six subsystems,Le,the driwing force subsystem(D),the water resources si tuation and consumption subsystem(S),the water resources pressure subsystem(P),the water environmental situation subsystem(E),the response subsystem(R),and the management subsystem(M),and built a comprehensive assessment system-DSPERM frame-work model.Si mulated annealing-projection pursuit model which reflects the structure or feature of high-dimensional data was adopted to calculate the WRCC of the Dianchi Lake Basin during 2005-2015 by weighting each evaluation indicator and each subsystem of the DSPERM frame work model.The resuls show that the WRCC of the Dlanchi Lake Basin was in level II(medium carying capacity)from 2005 to 2012.Since 2013,the WRCC has been at level II(strong carying capacity),and from 2005 to 2015,it showed a gradual upward trend.The evaluation indicators of each subsystem varied greatly and exhibited different development trends.The indicators of the water resources pressure subsystem had the greatest impact on the WRCC,followed by the in-dicators of the water environmental si tuation subsystem and the water resources situation and consumption subsystem.We recommend that the DSPERM framework model and the simulated anneal ing-projection pursuit model constructed in this work can be used to analyze the dynamic changes of the WRCC over the years.They have the advantages of practicability and feasibilty,and can provide the basis for the scienti fic decision-making and comprehensive management of regional water environment planning. 展开更多

Therefore, it is necessary to develop an evaluation system for information openness of local governments. In order to select evaluation indicators, we conducted a content analysis on current evaluation systems constructed by researchers and local governments and the materials of a case study on a local government. This evaluation system is composed of 5 first-tier indicators, 30 secondtier indicators and 69 third-tier indicators. Then Delphi Method and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) Method are adopted to determine the weight of each indicator. At last, the practicability of the system is tested by an evaluation of the local government of Tianjin Binhai New Area, which has been undergoing administrative reform and attempting to reinvent itself in the past 5 years. 展开更多

In the process of evaluating,the weights of indicators are firstly determined by AHP and Delphi methods;and the values of indicators are normalized by grey correlative coefficient method.A suit of means were put forward,by which a qualitative and quantitative evaluation indicator system suitable for the situation of China and uncertainties can be established.Both idiographic and operable methods and process were presented.Following the principle of elasticity,hiberarchy and maneuverability,a three-layer evaluation indicator system was established by AHP in Jiuyi ecological residential community,which includes 5 subsystems and 24 indicatiors.The weights of indicators are measured by AHP and expert estimate and their best indicators values up to par were determined by fuzzy mathematics and optimization.The whole evaluation indicator system not only has an active and practical effect on estimating ecological residential community,but also guides ecological residential community planning. 展开更多

To improve the mixing efficiency in water purification or wastewater treatment process and understand the mechanism of mass transfer,and a suitable evaluation factor is introduced to evaluate the efficiency of mixing process.The diffusion mass transfer under turbulent condition is investigated based on dynamic and mathematical analysis.The results indicate that submicroscopic diffusion is the rate-limiting step in mass transfer,and the inertia effect of micro vortex causes the phase mixing.An excellent efficiency can be obtained by controlling the scale of micro vortex within millimeter.Furthermore,a new indicator named mixing factor(IH)is proposed to evaluate the efficiency of mixing processes,which is more feasible than conventional evaluation methods,because of its connection of mixing extent with energy consumption. 展开更多

Result shows that ecological culture development in Yangshan Port is below moderate level, and Yangshan Port needs to strengthen ecological culture construction to improve whole average level. The aim of this study was to establish a scientific evaluation system for fruit radish quality. 8 quality indicators were measured for23 varieties,such as Meinong,Qiaotouqing and Chunbulao. The indicators included root weight,root shape index,water content,crispness,soluble solids,crude fiber,isothiocyanate and vitamin C. These data were analyzed by variation correlation analysis,principal component analysis and system cluster analysis. 23 varieties of fruit radish were analyzed by variation correlation; 8 indicators were compressed into 6 integrated variables using principal component analysis. Finally,the main evaluation indicators of fruit radish were determined by using cluster analysis and correlation analysis. The results indicated that the range of variation coefficient was from 1. 64%-89. 99%. Water content,crispness,soluble solids,crude fiber,isothiocyanate were the important components of fruit radish quality,playing a major role in the quality. These 8indicators were closely related and relatively independent. Water content was significantly and positively correlated with crispness; soluble solids and crude fiber were significantly and negatively related to vitamin C; crispness was significantly and positively correlated with crude fiber and vitamin C. Based on the above results,4 representative indicators were used for evaluating fruit radish quality,that is water content,crispness,soluble solids,crude fiber,which could reflect the most information of fruit radish quality. 展开更多

To effectively quantify the impact of distributed photovoltaic(PV)access on the distribution network,this paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation method of distributed PV grid connection combining subjective and objective combination of assignment and technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution(TOPSIS)—rank sum ratio(RSR)(TOPSIS-RSR)method.Based on the traditional distribution network evaluation system,a comprehensive evaluation system has been constructed.It fully considers the new development requirements of distributed PV access on the environmental friendliness and absorptive capacity of the distribution grid and comprehensively reflects the impact of distributed PV grid connection.The analytic hierarchy process(AHP)was used to determine the subjective weights of the primary indicators,and the Spearman consistency test was combined to determine the weights of the secondary indicators based on three objective assignment methods.The subjective and objective combination weights of each assessment indicator were calculated through the principle of minimum entropy.Calculate the distance between the indicators to be evaluated and the positive and negative ideal solutions,the relative closeness ranking,and qualitative binning by TOPSIS-RSR method to obtain the comprehensive evaluation results of different scenarios.By setting up different PV grid-connected scenarios and utilizing the IEEE33 node simulation algorithm,the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed subject-object combination assignment and integrated assessment method are verified. 展开更多
