The use of alternative fuels to generate mechanical and thermal energy in engines is a promising and sought-after technological area with its own unique advantages and characteristics.Consequently,enhancing the techni...The use of alternative fuels to generate mechanical and thermal energy in engines is a promising and sought-after technological area with its own unique advantages and characteristics.Consequently,enhancing the technical,economic,and environmental efficiency of gas engines fueled by propane-butane mixture and syngas through optimized operating cycle parameters(including valve timing,ignition timing angle,fuel mixture composition,and compression ratio)is a pressing imperative for scientific and energy sectors.The aim of the study was to investigate and compare the performance of an engine with different compression ratios running on a propane-butane mixture and laboratory syngas.The research’s primary originality lies in its joint study of syngas production technology and the evaluation of the efficiency of a mini power plant fueled by the resulting gas and conventional gas.This article presents a description of the experimental setup,data on measuring instruments,technical characteristics of the mini-power plant,the process for obtaining laboratory syngas,the properties of the gaseous fuels used,and experimental methods.Data on air and fuel consumption,as well as engine efficiency at different compression ratios when running on a propane-butane mixture and syngas,were obtained and analyzed.Converting an engine from a propane-butane mixture to syngas results in a reduction in power of almost 30% and efficiency by 13%–33%.Increasing the compression ratio by 0.9 units causes a rise in maximum efficiency from 0.177 to 0.235 for an engine running on a propane-butane mixture and an increase in maximum efficiency from 0.136 to 0.161 for a syngas engine.It has been confirmed that the compression ratio significantly impacts the technical and economic performance of an engine running on gaseous fuel.The obtained results can be used to modernize existing engines for operation on alternative fuels(syngas)and to design new mini-power plants with promising technical,economic,and environmental characteristics.展开更多
Powder-Fueled Water Ramjet Engine(PFWRE)is the most promising powerplant in underwater high-speed propulsion.However,the effect of powder injection mode on its performance and the mechanism of this effect are not well...Powder-Fueled Water Ramjet Engine(PFWRE)is the most promising powerplant in underwater high-speed propulsion.However,the effect of powder injection mode on its performance and the mechanism of this effect are not well understood.In this paper,a computational framework for multiphase combustion flow is developed and validated.Further,the effects of different injection schemes on flow combustion characteristics and engine performance are evaluated via simulation.Our findings indicate that the dominant recirculation zone in front of the primary water inlet delivers water vapor to the combustor head,providing the necessary oxidant for the ignition and combustion of Al particles.Changing the injection parameters directly affects the flame zone distribution and the ability of the recirculation zone to deliver water vapor,leading to variations in particle ignition delay.The engine combustion efficiency and specific impulse efficiency exhibit a negative correlation with injection height,peaking before declining with increased injection angle.It is shown that particle mixing degree and particle dispersion degree are closely related to engine performance.Enhanced particle mixing in front of the primary water inlet and particle dispersion behind the secondary water inlet are considered favorable approaches to improve engine performance,which promotes the particle combustion process and improves the heat-work conversion efficiency.展开更多

Electrocatalytic nitric oxide(NO)reduction reaction(NORR)is a promising and sustainable process that can simultaneously realize green ammonia(NH3)synthesis and hazardous NO removal.However,current NORR performances ar...Electrocatalytic nitric oxide(NO)reduction reaction(NORR)is a promising and sustainable process that can simultaneously realize green ammonia(NH3)synthesis and hazardous NO removal.However,current NORR performances are far from practical needs due to the lack of efficient electrocatalysts.Engineering the lattice of metal-based nanomaterials via phase control has emerged as an effective strategy to modulate their intrinsic electrocatalytic properties.Herein,we realize boron(B)-insertion-induced phase regulation of rhodium(Rh)nanocrystals to obtain amorphous Rh_(4)B nanoparticles(NPs)and hexagonal close-packed(hcp)RhB NPs through a facile wet-chemical method.A high Faradaic efficiency(92.1±1.2%)and NH_(3) yield rate(629.5±11.0μmol h^(−1) cm^(−2))are achieved over hcp RhB NPs,far superior to those of most reported NORR nanocatalysts.In situ spectro-electrochemical analysis and density functional theory simulations reveal that the excellent electrocatalytic performances of hcp RhB NPs are attributed to the upshift of d-band center,enhanced NO adsorption/activation profile,and greatly reduced energy barrier of the rate-determining step.A demonstrative Zn-NO battery is assembled using hcp RhB NPs as the cathode and delivers a peak power density of 4.33 mW cm−2,realizing simultaneous NO removal,NH3 synthesis,and electricity output.展开更多
Software engineering has been embraced by almost all industries to promote work efficiency,improve user experience or cut cost.In line with this,the education on software engineering should be made more adaptable to m...Software engineering has been embraced by almost all industries to promote work efficiency,improve user experience or cut cost.In line with this,the education on software engineering should be made more adaptable to meet the needs of industries.Industry-university-research(IUR)collaboration project,which was initially designed to reinforce the association between universities and enterprises,brought added value to this end.In this paper,an IUR collaboration project on tele-rehabilitation is presented as an example for education practice,where emphasis is laid on the ways of analyzing users’needs,converting users’needs to infrastructure design,decomposing a project into tasks,etc.The project had been used as both student assignments and case studies in software engineering courses,where students were motivated to deal with real medical problems from an engineering perspective.It was shown that by introducing the IUR collaboration project,it helped the students to build up engineering-oriented mindset besides improving their R&D ability on software engineering.展开更多

This paper investigates the reliability of internal marine combustion engines using an integrated approach that combines Fault Tree Analysis(FTA)and Bayesian Networks(BN).FTA provides a structured,top-down method for ...This paper investigates the reliability of internal marine combustion engines using an integrated approach that combines Fault Tree Analysis(FTA)and Bayesian Networks(BN).FTA provides a structured,top-down method for identifying critical failure modes and their root causes,while BN introduces flexibility in probabilistic reasoning,enabling dynamic updates based on new evidence.This dual methodology overcomes the limitations of static FTA models,offering a comprehensive framework for system reliability analysis.Critical failures,including External Leakage(ELU),Failure to Start(FTS),and Overheating(OHE),were identified as key risks.By incorporating redundancy into high-risk components such as pumps and batteries,the likelihood of these failures was significantly reduced.For instance,redundant pumps reduced the probability of ELU by 31.88%,while additional batteries decreased the occurrence of FTS by 36.45%.The results underscore the practical benefits of combining FTA and BN for enhancing system reliability,particularly in maritime applications where operational safety and efficiency are critical.This research provides valuable insights for maintenance planning and highlights the importance of redundancy in critical systems,especially as the industry transitions toward more autonomous vessels.展开更多
Quantum dot systems emerge as promising platforms for studying nanoscale thermoelectric effects and quantum fluctuation phenomena.In this work,we investigate the thermodynamic performance of a Coulomb-blockaded quantu...Quantum dot systems emerge as promising platforms for studying nanoscale thermoelectric effects and quantum fluctuation phenomena.In this work,we investigate the thermodynamic performance of a Coulomb-blockaded quantum dot operating as a quantum heat engine using the quantum master equation approach.By incorporating full counting statistics,we analyze both average transport properties and current fluctuations in this nanoscale system.We demonstrate that electron-electron interactions significantly enhance thermoelectric performance by increasing both the output power and energy conversion efficiency.Furthermore,we show that Coulomb interactions suppress current fluctuations while preserving the validity of the thermodynamic uncertainty relation.Our results provide important insights into the interplay between quantum effects and thermodynamic principles in nanoscale heat engines.展开更多
Underwater gas-liquid two-phase propulsion technology is an emerging propulsion method that offers high efficiency and unrestricted navigation speed.The integration of this technology into water ramjet engines can sig...Underwater gas-liquid two-phase propulsion technology is an emerging propulsion method that offers high efficiency and unrestricted navigation speed.The integration of this technology into water ramjet engines can significantly enhance propulsion efficiency and holds substantial potential for broad applications.However,forming a gas-liquid two-phase flow within the nozzle requires introducing a large amount of rammed seawater.At this time,there is a complex phase transition problem of combustion products in the combustion chamber,which makes the thermodynamic calculation for gas-liquid two-phase water ramjet engines particularly challenging.This paper proposes a thermodynamic calculation method for gas-liquid two-phase water ramjet engines,based on the energy equation for gas-liquid two-phase flow and traditional thermodynamic principles,enabling thermodynamic calculations under conditions of ultra-high water-fuel ratios.Additionally,ground ignition tests of the gas-liquid two-phase engine were conducted,yielding critical engine test parameters.The results demonstrate that the gas-liquid two-phase water ramjet engine achieves a high specific impulse,with a theoretical maximum specific impulse of up to 7000(N s)/kg.The multiphase flow effects significantly impact engine performance,with specific impulse losses reaching up to 25.86%.The error between the thrust and specific impulse in the ground test and the theoretical values is within 10%,validating the proposed thermodynamic calculation method as a reliable reference for further research on gas-liquid two-phase water ramjet engines.展开更多
This paper presents the results of free-jet experiments conducted on an internal injection oblique detonation engine in a large-scale hypersonic shock tunnel.To overcome the challenges of non-uniform mixing and the fa...This paper presents the results of free-jet experiments conducted on an internal injection oblique detonation engine in a large-scale hypersonic shock tunnel.To overcome the challenges of non-uniform mixing and the failure of oblique detonation wave initiation when using liquid fuel,a combined strut-wall injection configuration was employed.Initiation was achieved by introducing a bump structure on the wedge.The results demonstrate that this strategy for mixing and initiation effectively establishes the oblique detonation wave combustion flow field.To further investigate the fuel mixing and initiation processes in the oblique detonation engine,three-dimensional numerical simulations consistent with the experimental conditions were carried out using the ReynoldsAveraged Navier-Stokes(RANS)method.The simulation results reveal that the high-speed gas flow generates shock waves as it passes through the central strut and transverse fuel jets.These shock waves are reflected by the wall,forming a series of shocks in the mixing section.The kerosene injected from the strut injectors does not react during the mixing phase.However,due to the influence of the high-temperature boundary layer,the kerosene injected through the wall undergoes precombustion.The separation zone upstream of the bump generates separation shock waves,allowing the multi-wave point to stabilize at a short distance from the leading edge of the wedge.展开更多
We developed a model of a quantum Otto engine using two coupled two-level atoms.Based on the platform,we show that frequency detuning and the coupling strength induced by dipoledipole interactions can lead to decohere...We developed a model of a quantum Otto engine using two coupled two-level atoms.Based on the platform,we show that frequency detuning and the coupling strength induced by dipoledipole interactions can lead to decoherence by disrupting coherent energy exchange.We focus on fundamental thermodynamic quantities,including heat absorption,release to heat baths,work done and efficiency.It is noteworthy that the interatomic coupling strength and frequency detuning do not merely affect the shape of the work and the efficiency but ultimately govern its quantitative magnitude.In the field of quantum thermodynamics,we have established an upper bound efficiency that is stricter than the Carnot limit.Moreover,our analysis confirms that quantum coherence enables the system to exceed the efficiency threshold of a classical Otto heat engine.The second law of thermodynamics holds all the while.Our results constitute a step forward in the design of conceptually new quantum thermodynamic devices which take advantage of uniquely quantum resources of quantum coherence.展开更多
Pre-chamber ignition technology can address the issue of uneven in-cylinder mixture combustion in large-bore marine engines.The impact of various pre-chamber structures on the formation of the mixture and jet flames w...Pre-chamber ignition technology can address the issue of uneven in-cylinder mixture combustion in large-bore marine engines.The impact of various pre-chamber structures on the formation of the mixture and jet flames within the pre-chamber is explored.This study performed numerical simulations on a large-bore marine ammonia/hydrogen pre-chamber engine prototype,considering pre-chamber volume,throat diameter,the distance between the hydrogen injector and the spark plug,and the hydrogen injector angle.Compared with the original engine,when the pre-chamber volume is 73.4 ml,the throat diameter is 14 mm,the distance ratio is 0.92,and the hydrogen injector angle is 80°.Moreover,the peak pressure in the pre-chamber increased by 23.1%,and that in the main chamber increased by 46.3%.The results indicate that the performance of the original engine is greatly enhanced by altering its fuel and pre-chamber structure.展开更多
Accurate extraction of surface water extent is a fundamental prerequisite for monitoring its dynamic changes.Although machine learning algorithms have been widely applied to surface water mapping,most studies focus pr...Accurate extraction of surface water extent is a fundamental prerequisite for monitoring its dynamic changes.Although machine learning algorithms have been widely applied to surface water mapping,most studies focus primarily on algorithmic outputs,with limited systematic evaluation of their applicability and constrained classification accuracy.In this study,we focused on the Songnen Plain in Northeast China and employed Sentinel-2 imagery acquired during 2020-2021 via the Google Earth Engine(GEE)platform to evaluate the performance of Classification and Regression Trees(CART),Random Forest(RF),and Support Vector Machine(SVM)for surface water classification.The classification process was optimized by incorporating automated training sample selection and integration of time series features.Validation with independent samples demonstrated the feasibility of automatic sample selection,yielding mean overall accuracies of 91.16%,90.99%,and 90.76%for RF,SVM,and CART,respectively.After integrating time series features,the mean overall accuracies of the three algorithms improved by 4.51%,5.45%,and 6.36%,respectively.In addition,spectral features such as MNDWI(Modified Normalized Difference Water Index),SWIR(Short Wave Infrared),and NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index)were identified as more important for surface water classification.This study establishes a more consistent framework for surface water mapping,offering new perspectives for improving and automating classification processes in the era of big and open data.展开更多
Lacto-N-neotetraose(LNn T)is a crucial neutral core human milk oligosaccharide(HMO).In this study,we established a LNn T-producing Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell factory through comprehensive metabolic engineering.Spec...Lacto-N-neotetraose(LNn T)is a crucial neutral core human milk oligosaccharide(HMO).In this study,we established a LNn T-producing Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell factory through comprehensive metabolic engineering.Specifically,the de novo biosynthetic pathway of LNn T was assembled by heterologously expressing the lactose permease(lac12)from Kluyveromyces lactis and the glycosyltransferase from Neisseria meningitidis in S.cerevisiae.Subsequently,carbon source regulation based on the glucose-sensitive GAL regulatory system was employed to optimize the expression time of heterologous genes,achieving a production of 15.61 mg/L of LNn T in shake-flask fermentation.In addition,the key rate-limiting steps involved in LNn T synthesis pathway were identified and the corresponding genes were overexpressed to enhance LNn T production,resulting in an 8-fold increase in LNn T titer compared to that of parental strain.To our knowledge,this is the first report on LNn T biosynthesis in S.cerevisiae,opening up the possibility of green production of LNn T using food-safe microorganisms.展开更多
Photocatalytic transfer hydrogenation using water as the proton source has emerged as an attractive and green approach for the catalytic reduction of unsaturated bonds.Herein,we report an oxygen-defective TiO_(2)-supp...Photocatalytic transfer hydrogenation using water as the proton source has emerged as an attractive and green approach for the catalytic reduction of unsaturated bonds.Herein,we report an oxygen-defective TiO_(2)-supported palladium catalyst(Pd-TiO_(2)-Ov)for efficient photocatalytic water-donating transfer hydrogenation of anethole towards 4-n-propylanisole in a high yield of 99.9%,which is significantly higher compared to the pristine TiO_(2)-supported palladium catalyst(Pd-TiO_(2),74%).The enhanced performance is ascribed to the presence of oxygen vacancies,which facilitate light absorption and suppress the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs.Furthermore,the Pd-TiO_(2)-Ov is versatile in hydrogenating various alkene substrates including those with hydroxyl,ether,fluoride,and chloride functional groups in full conversion,thus offering a green method for transfer hydrogenation of alkenes.This study provides new insights and advances in current hydrogenation technology with water as the proton source.展开更多

文摘A growing global population and the increasing prevalence of diet-related health issues such as“hidden hunger”,obesity,hypertension,and diabetes necessitate a fundamental rethinking of crop design and breeding.Synthetic metabolic engineering offers a method to modify and redesign metabolic pathways to increase the nutritional value of crops.We summarize recent advances in the biofortification of key nutrients including provitamin A,vitamin C,vitamin B9,iron,zinc,anthocyanins,flavonoids,and unsaturated fatty acids.We discuss the potential of multi-gene stacking,gene editing,enzyme engineering,and artificial intelligence in synthetic metabolic engineering.We propose future research directions and potential solutions centered on leveraging AI-driven systems biology,precision gene editing,enzyme engineering,agrobacterium-mediated genotype-independent transformation,and modular metabolic engineering strategies to develop next-generation nutritionally enhanced super crops and transform global food systems.

文摘This paper investigates the reliability of internal marine combustion engines using an integrated approach that combines Fault Tree Analysis(FTA)and Bayesian Networks(BN).FTA provides a structured,top-down method for identifying critical failure modes and their root causes,while BN introduces flexibility in probabilistic reasoning,enabling dynamic updates based on new evidence.This dual methodology overcomes the limitations of static FTA models,offering a comprehensive framework for system reliability analysis.Critical failures,including External Leakage(ELU),Failure to Start(FTS),and Overheating(OHE),were identified as key risks.By incorporating redundancy into high-risk components such as pumps and batteries,the likelihood of these failures was significantly reduced.For instance,redundant pumps reduced the probability of ELU by 31.88%,while additional batteries decreased the occurrence of FTS by 36.45%.The results underscore the practical benefits of combining FTA and BN for enhancing system reliability,particularly in maritime applications where operational safety and efficiency are critical.This research provides valuable insights for maintenance planning and highlights the importance of redundancy in critical systems,especially as the industry transitions toward more autonomous vessels.

文摘Quantum dot systems emerge as promising platforms for studying nanoscale thermoelectric effects and quantum fluctuation phenomena.In this work,we investigate the thermodynamic performance of a Coulomb-blockaded quantum dot operating as a quantum heat engine using the quantum master equation approach.By incorporating full counting statistics,we analyze both average transport properties and current fluctuations in this nanoscale system.We demonstrate that electron-electron interactions significantly enhance thermoelectric performance by increasing both the output power and energy conversion efficiency.Furthermore,we show that Coulomb interactions suppress current fluctuations while preserving the validity of the thermodynamic uncertainty relation.Our results provide important insights into the interplay between quantum effects and thermodynamic principles in nanoscale heat engines.

文摘Underwater gas-liquid two-phase propulsion technology is an emerging propulsion method that offers high efficiency and unrestricted navigation speed.The integration of this technology into water ramjet engines can significantly enhance propulsion efficiency and holds substantial potential for broad applications.However,forming a gas-liquid two-phase flow within the nozzle requires introducing a large amount of rammed seawater.At this time,there is a complex phase transition problem of combustion products in the combustion chamber,which makes the thermodynamic calculation for gas-liquid two-phase water ramjet engines particularly challenging.This paper proposes a thermodynamic calculation method for gas-liquid two-phase water ramjet engines,based on the energy equation for gas-liquid two-phase flow and traditional thermodynamic principles,enabling thermodynamic calculations under conditions of ultra-high water-fuel ratios.Additionally,ground ignition tests of the gas-liquid two-phase engine were conducted,yielding critical engine test parameters.The results demonstrate that the gas-liquid two-phase water ramjet engine achieves a high specific impulse,with a theoretical maximum specific impulse of up to 7000(N s)/kg.The multiphase flow effects significantly impact engine performance,with specific impulse losses reaching up to 25.86%.The error between the thrust and specific impulse in the ground test and the theoretical values is within 10%,validating the proposed thermodynamic calculation method as a reliable reference for further research on gas-liquid two-phase water ramjet engines.

文摘This paper presents the results of free-jet experiments conducted on an internal injection oblique detonation engine in a large-scale hypersonic shock tunnel.To overcome the challenges of non-uniform mixing and the failure of oblique detonation wave initiation when using liquid fuel,a combined strut-wall injection configuration was employed.Initiation was achieved by introducing a bump structure on the wedge.The results demonstrate that this strategy for mixing and initiation effectively establishes the oblique detonation wave combustion flow field.To further investigate the fuel mixing and initiation processes in the oblique detonation engine,three-dimensional numerical simulations consistent with the experimental conditions were carried out using the ReynoldsAveraged Navier-Stokes(RANS)method.The simulation results reveal that the high-speed gas flow generates shock waves as it passes through the central strut and transverse fuel jets.These shock waves are reflected by the wall,forming a series of shocks in the mixing section.The kerosene injected from the strut injectors does not react during the mixing phase.However,due to the influence of the high-temperature boundary layer,the kerosene injected through the wall undergoes precombustion.The separation zone upstream of the bump generates separation shock waves,allowing the multi-wave point to stabilize at a short distance from the leading edge of the wedge.

文摘We developed a model of a quantum Otto engine using two coupled two-level atoms.Based on the platform,we show that frequency detuning and the coupling strength induced by dipoledipole interactions can lead to decoherence by disrupting coherent energy exchange.We focus on fundamental thermodynamic quantities,including heat absorption,release to heat baths,work done and efficiency.It is noteworthy that the interatomic coupling strength and frequency detuning do not merely affect the shape of the work and the efficiency but ultimately govern its quantitative magnitude.In the field of quantum thermodynamics,we have established an upper bound efficiency that is stricter than the Carnot limit.Moreover,our analysis confirms that quantum coherence enables the system to exceed the efficiency threshold of a classical Otto heat engine.The second law of thermodynamics holds all the while.Our results constitute a step forward in the design of conceptually new quantum thermodynamic devices which take advantage of uniquely quantum resources of quantum coherence.

文摘Pre-chamber ignition technology can address the issue of uneven in-cylinder mixture combustion in large-bore marine engines.The impact of various pre-chamber structures on the formation of the mixture and jet flames within the pre-chamber is explored.This study performed numerical simulations on a large-bore marine ammonia/hydrogen pre-chamber engine prototype,considering pre-chamber volume,throat diameter,the distance between the hydrogen injector and the spark plug,and the hydrogen injector angle.Compared with the original engine,when the pre-chamber volume is 73.4 ml,the throat diameter is 14 mm,the distance ratio is 0.92,and the hydrogen injector angle is 80°.Moreover,the peak pressure in the pre-chamber increased by 23.1%,and that in the main chamber increased by 46.3%.The results indicate that the performance of the original engine is greatly enhanced by altering its fuel and pre-chamber structure.

文摘Accurate extraction of surface water extent is a fundamental prerequisite for monitoring its dynamic changes.Although machine learning algorithms have been widely applied to surface water mapping,most studies focus primarily on algorithmic outputs,with limited systematic evaluation of their applicability and constrained classification accuracy.In this study,we focused on the Songnen Plain in Northeast China and employed Sentinel-2 imagery acquired during 2020-2021 via the Google Earth Engine(GEE)platform to evaluate the performance of Classification and Regression Trees(CART),Random Forest(RF),and Support Vector Machine(SVM)for surface water classification.The classification process was optimized by incorporating automated training sample selection and integration of time series features.Validation with independent samples demonstrated the feasibility of automatic sample selection,yielding mean overall accuracies of 91.16%,90.99%,and 90.76%for RF,SVM,and CART,respectively.After integrating time series features,the mean overall accuracies of the three algorithms improved by 4.51%,5.45%,and 6.36%,respectively.In addition,spectral features such as MNDWI(Modified Normalized Difference Water Index),SWIR(Short Wave Infrared),and NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index)were identified as more important for surface water classification.This study establishes a more consistent framework for surface water mapping,offering new perspectives for improving and automating classification processes in the era of big and open data.

文摘Lacto-N-neotetraose(LNn T)is a crucial neutral core human milk oligosaccharide(HMO).In this study,we established a LNn T-producing Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell factory through comprehensive metabolic engineering.Specifically,the de novo biosynthetic pathway of LNn T was assembled by heterologously expressing the lactose permease(lac12)from Kluyveromyces lactis and the glycosyltransferase from Neisseria meningitidis in S.cerevisiae.Subsequently,carbon source regulation based on the glucose-sensitive GAL regulatory system was employed to optimize the expression time of heterologous genes,achieving a production of 15.61 mg/L of LNn T in shake-flask fermentation.In addition,the key rate-limiting steps involved in LNn T synthesis pathway were identified and the corresponding genes were overexpressed to enhance LNn T production,resulting in an 8-fold increase in LNn T titer compared to that of parental strain.To our knowledge,this is the first report on LNn T biosynthesis in S.cerevisiae,opening up the possibility of green production of LNn T using food-safe microorganisms.

文摘Photocatalytic transfer hydrogenation using water as the proton source has emerged as an attractive and green approach for the catalytic reduction of unsaturated bonds.Herein,we report an oxygen-defective TiO_(2)-supported palladium catalyst(Pd-TiO_(2)-Ov)for efficient photocatalytic water-donating transfer hydrogenation of anethole towards 4-n-propylanisole in a high yield of 99.9%,which is significantly higher compared to the pristine TiO_(2)-supported palladium catalyst(Pd-TiO_(2),74%).The enhanced performance is ascribed to the presence of oxygen vacancies,which facilitate light absorption and suppress the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs.Furthermore,the Pd-TiO_(2)-Ov is versatile in hydrogenating various alkene substrates including those with hydroxyl,ether,fluoride,and chloride functional groups in full conversion,thus offering a green method for transfer hydrogenation of alkenes.This study provides new insights and advances in current hydrogenation technology with water as the proton source.
