This paper presents the neural exploration with feature-based visual odometry and tracking-failure-reduction policy(Ne OR), a framework for embodied visual exploration that possesses the efficient exploration capabilities of deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based exploration policies and leverages feature-based visual odometry(VO) for more accurate mapping and positioning results. An improved local policy is also proposed to reduce tracking failures of feature-based VO in weakly textured scenes through a refined multi-discrete action space, keyframe fusion, and an auxiliary task. The experimental results demonstrate that Ne OR has better mapping and positioning accuracy compared to other entirely learning-based exploration frameworks and improves the robustness of feature-based VO by significantly reducing tracking failures in weakly textured scenes.展开更多

The emergence of embodied cognition theory has altered our traditional understanding of children’s language learning,emphasizing the close connection between the body,environment,and movement.This paper discusses the...The emergence of embodied cognition theory has altered our traditional understanding of children’s language learning,emphasizing the close connection between the body,environment,and movement.This paper discusses the opportunities,challenges,and future directions of research on children’s language learning from the perspective of embodied cognition.It concludes that multisensory engagement can greatly improve children’s comprehension and memorization of language knowledge and that language acquisition is intimately tied to bodily perception,movement,and emotional experience.In addition,children’s language acquisition can also be effectively aided by embodied cognition techniques as multimedia aids,gesture and enactment,and imagery.Based on previous evidence,we propose an integrated language learning framework and a new relevance-integration taxonomy for children’s language learning from the perspectives of embodied cognition and cognitive load theories.In order to support the long-term growth of children’s language education,future research should focus more on the requirement of embodied language learning in the preschool-primary transition and optimize the teaching objectives and contents.展开更多

Structures constructed on collapsible soil are prone to failure under flooding.Agro-waste like rice husk ash(RHA)and its geopolymer(LGR),consisting of lime(L),RHA,water glass(Na2SiO3),and caustic soda(NaOH),present a ...Structures constructed on collapsible soil are prone to failure under flooding.Agro-waste like rice husk ash(RHA)and its geopolymer(LGR),consisting of lime(L),RHA,water glass(Na2SiO3),and caustic soda(NaOH),present a potential solution to address this issue.RHA and LGR were mixed up to 16%to improve the collapsible soil.Samples were remolded at optimal water content and maximum dry density for strength and collapsible potential tests.Unconfined compressive strength,deformation modulus,and soaked California bearing ratio exhibit exponential improvement with the inclusion of LGR.Additionally,for comparison of microstructural characteristics,analyses involving energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDAX)and scanning electron microscope(SEM)were conducted on both virgin and treated specimens.LGR resulted in the emergence of new peaks of sodium silicates and calcium silicates,as indicated by EDAX.The formation of H-C-A-S gel and H-N-A-S gel observed in SEM suggests the development of bonds among soil particles attributed to geopolymerization.SEM reveals the transformation of the inherent collapsible soil from a dispersed and silt-dominated structure to a reticulated structure devoid of micro-pores following the incorporation of LGR.A numerical model was constructed to forecast the performance of both virgin and stabilized collapsible soils under pre-and post-flooding conditions.The outcomes indicate an enhancement in the soil's bearing capacity upon stabilization with 12%LGR.The implementation of 12%LGR significantly resulted in a lower embodied energy-tostrength ratio,emissions-to-strength ratio,and relatively lower cost-to-strength ratio compared to the soil treated with 16%cement kiln dust(CKD).展开更多

Synergistic reduction of carbon emissions and air pollution is the core means to address the two major strategic tasks of fundamentally improving the ecological environment and the‘Dual-carbon target’.The issue of s...Synergistic reduction of carbon emissions and air pollution is the core means to address the two major strategic tasks of fundamentally improving the ecological environment and the‘Dual-carbon target’.The issue of synergistic reduction at the provincial level needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency.Taking Henan Province,the largest economy in central China,as an example,this study uses environmentally extended input-output analysis and structural path analysis to identify the key sectors that contribute to CO_(2),SO_(2),and total particulate matter(TPM)emissions,and to sort out key emission pathways(e.g.,Final Demand→Sector…).The results indicate that S2(Mining of Fossil Energy),S10(Nonmetal Mineral Products),S11(Metal Smelting),S13(Power and Heat)and S17(Transportation)are mainly responsible for CO_(2),SO_(2),and TPM direct emissions on the production side,while S16(Construction),S12(Equipment)and S18(Services)account for more than 45%of CO_(2),SO_(2),and TPM embodied emissions on the consumption side.32 shared emission pathways are extracted from the top 100 pathways for CO_(2),SO_(2),and TPM emissions,which account for 27%-51%of total emissions in Henan Province.P9(Export→Nonmetal Mineral Products),P10(Export→Metal Smelting)and P21(Gross Capital Formation→Construction→Nonmetal Mineral Products)are the leading paths responsible for embodied emissions.The research results provide the foundation and guidance for well-designed mitigation policies,as well as a reference for better synergistic control in provinces facing similar situations.展开更多

文摘Large language models(LLMs)have undergone significant expansion and have been increasingly integrated across various domains.Notably,in the realm of robot task planning,LLMs harness their advanced reasoning and language comprehension capabilities to formulate precise and efficient action plans based on natural language instructions.However,for embodied tasks,where robots interact with complex environments,textonly LLMs often face challenges due to a lack of compatibility with robotic visual perception.This study provides a comprehensive overview of the emerging integration of LLMs and multimodal LLMs into various robotic tasks.Additionally,we propose a framework that utilizes multimodal GPT-4V to enhance embodied task planning through the combination of natural language instructions and robot visual perceptions.Our results,based on diverse datasets,indicate that GPT-4V effectively enhances robot performance in embodied tasks.This extensive survey and evaluation of LLMs and multimodal LLMs across a variety of robotic tasks enriches the understanding of LLM-centric embodied intelligence and provides forward-looking insights towards bridging the gap in Human-Robot-Environment interaction.

文摘With the emergence of general foundational models,such as Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer(ChatGPT),researchers have shown considerable interest in the potential applications of foundation models in the process industry.This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities presented by the use of foundation models in the process industry,including the frameworks,core applications,and future prospects.First,this paper proposes a framework for foundation models for the process industry.Second,it summarizes the key capabilities of industrial foundation models and their practical applications.Finally,it highlights future research directions and identifies unresolved open issues related to the use of foundation models in the process industry.

文摘Embodied visual exploration is critical for building intelligent visual agents. This paper presents the neural exploration with feature-based visual odometry and tracking-failure-reduction policy(Ne OR), a framework for embodied visual exploration that possesses the efficient exploration capabilities of deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based exploration policies and leverages feature-based visual odometry(VO) for more accurate mapping and positioning results. An improved local policy is also proposed to reduce tracking failures of feature-based VO in weakly textured scenes through a refined multi-discrete action space, keyframe fusion, and an auxiliary task. The experimental results demonstrate that Ne OR has better mapping and positioning accuracy compared to other entirely learning-based exploration frameworks and improves the robustness of feature-based VO by significantly reducing tracking failures in weakly textured scenes.

文摘The emergence of embodied cognition theory has altered our traditional understanding of children’s language learning,emphasizing the close connection between the body,environment,and movement.This paper discusses the opportunities,challenges,and future directions of research on children’s language learning from the perspective of embodied cognition.It concludes that multisensory engagement can greatly improve children’s comprehension and memorization of language knowledge and that language acquisition is intimately tied to bodily perception,movement,and emotional experience.In addition,children’s language acquisition can also be effectively aided by embodied cognition techniques as multimedia aids,gesture and enactment,and imagery.Based on previous evidence,we propose an integrated language learning framework and a new relevance-integration taxonomy for children’s language learning from the perspectives of embodied cognition and cognitive load theories.In order to support the long-term growth of children’s language education,future research should focus more on the requirement of embodied language learning in the preschool-primary transition and optimize the teaching objectives and contents.

文摘Structures constructed on collapsible soil are prone to failure under flooding.Agro-waste like rice husk ash(RHA)and its geopolymer(LGR),consisting of lime(L),RHA,water glass(Na2SiO3),and caustic soda(NaOH),present a potential solution to address this issue.RHA and LGR were mixed up to 16%to improve the collapsible soil.Samples were remolded at optimal water content and maximum dry density for strength and collapsible potential tests.Unconfined compressive strength,deformation modulus,and soaked California bearing ratio exhibit exponential improvement with the inclusion of LGR.Additionally,for comparison of microstructural characteristics,analyses involving energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDAX)and scanning electron microscope(SEM)were conducted on both virgin and treated specimens.LGR resulted in the emergence of new peaks of sodium silicates and calcium silicates,as indicated by EDAX.The formation of H-C-A-S gel and H-N-A-S gel observed in SEM suggests the development of bonds among soil particles attributed to geopolymerization.SEM reveals the transformation of the inherent collapsible soil from a dispersed and silt-dominated structure to a reticulated structure devoid of micro-pores following the incorporation of LGR.A numerical model was constructed to forecast the performance of both virgin and stabilized collapsible soils under pre-and post-flooding conditions.The outcomes indicate an enhancement in the soil's bearing capacity upon stabilization with 12%LGR.The implementation of 12%LGR significantly resulted in a lower embodied energy-tostrength ratio,emissions-to-strength ratio,and relatively lower cost-to-strength ratio compared to the soil treated with 16%cement kiln dust(CKD).

文摘Embodied intelligence represents a new paradigm for the cross-integration development of artificial intelli⁃gence.By endowing AI with a"physical body",it enables interaction with the real world,allowing AI to move beyond digital environments into the physical realm and demonstrate intelligence that simulates or even surpasses human capa⁃bilities.Although embodied artificial intelligence demonstrates substantial potential in the realm of invention and cre⁃ation,there remain challenges in obtaining patent authorization for its generated technical solutions,specifically con⁃cerning subject,object,and market aspects.To address these issues,the feasibility of the subject should be demon⁃strated from the perspective of embodied cognition theory,while the object should be justified from a techno-centric standpoint.Subsequently,a regulatory framework for the patentability of technical solutions generated by embodied in⁃telligence should be proposed.First,a more inclusive subject framework should be established,recognizing embodied artificial intelligence as an inventor alongside humans,thereby affirming a coexistent"inventor"identity.Second,pat⁃ent rights should be assigned to developers of embodied artificial intelligence,referencing the rights distribution para⁃digm under employment relationships.Third,the criteria for patent eligibility and the"three-aspect"examination stan⁃dards should be refined.Finally,mechanisms for optimizing the implementation of rights and risk prevention should be developed.

文摘Multi-agent systems(MASs)have demonstrated significant achievements in a wide range of tasks,leveraging their capacity for coordination and adaptation within complex environments.Moreover,the enhancement of their intelligent functionalities is crucial for tackling increasingly challenging tasks.This goal resonates with a paradigm shift within the artificial intelligence(AI)community,from“internet AI”to“embodied AI”,and the MASs with embodied AI are referred to as embodied multi-agent systems(EMASs).An EMAS has the potential to acquire generalized competencies through interactions with environments,enabling it to effectively address a variety of tasks and thereby make a substantial contribution to the quest for artificial general intelligence.Despite the burgeoning interest in this domain,a comprehensive review of EMAS has been lacking.This paper offers analysis and synthesis for EMASs from a control perspective,conceptualizing each embodied agent as an entity equipped with a“brain”for decision and a“body”for environmental interaction.System designs are classified into open-loop,closed-loop,and double-loop categories,and EMAS implementations are discussed.Additionally,the current applications and challenges faced by EMASs are summarized and potential avenues for future research in this field are provided.

文摘Synergistic reduction of carbon emissions and air pollution is the core means to address the two major strategic tasks of fundamentally improving the ecological environment and the‘Dual-carbon target’.The issue of synergistic reduction at the provincial level needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency.Taking Henan Province,the largest economy in central China,as an example,this study uses environmentally extended input-output analysis and structural path analysis to identify the key sectors that contribute to CO_(2),SO_(2),and total particulate matter(TPM)emissions,and to sort out key emission pathways(e.g.,Final Demand→Sector…).The results indicate that S2(Mining of Fossil Energy),S10(Nonmetal Mineral Products),S11(Metal Smelting),S13(Power and Heat)and S17(Transportation)are mainly responsible for CO_(2),SO_(2),and TPM direct emissions on the production side,while S16(Construction),S12(Equipment)and S18(Services)account for more than 45%of CO_(2),SO_(2),and TPM embodied emissions on the consumption side.32 shared emission pathways are extracted from the top 100 pathways for CO_(2),SO_(2),and TPM emissions,which account for 27%-51%of total emissions in Henan Province.P9(Export→Nonmetal Mineral Products),P10(Export→Metal Smelting)and P21(Gross Capital Formation→Construction→Nonmetal Mineral Products)are the leading paths responsible for embodied emissions.The research results provide the foundation and guidance for well-designed mitigation policies,as well as a reference for better synergistic control in provinces facing similar situations.
