In this paper, we use the polynomial function and Chaum's RSA (Rivest, Shamir, Adleman) blind signature scheme to construct a secure anonymous internet electronic voting scheme. In our scheme, each vote does not need to be revealed in the tallying phase. The ballot number of each candidate gets is counted by computing the degrees of two polynomials' greatest common divisor. Our scheme does not require a special voting channel and communication can occur entirely over the current internet. 展开更多

We make use of Paillier cryptosystem which exhibits additive homomorphic properties. The other homomorphic cryptosystems RSA and Elgamal are not considered, since they exhibit only multiplicative homomorphic property. Our proposed method increases the level of security when compared to Elgamal method. It is more flexible when compared to previous schemes. We also propose data packing for efficient storage of election data. Finally, we demonstrate the advantages of the homomorphic encryption in voting schemes by comparing with other electronic voting scheme. 展开更多

A pathway to local legitimacy:the impact of corporate governance on corporate social responsibility in chaebol‑affiliated firms

Drawing on local legitimacy theory,which posits that firms seek acceptance and approval from their local community and stakeholders,we examine the effect of corporate governance(CG)quality on corporate social responsibility(CSR)activities in Korea.Enhancing CG quality and engaging in CSR activities are increasingly important for firms’long-term sustainability.Using the KEJI-CSR index and the KCGS CG score,we find that CG quality positively influences CSR activities.Specifically,if the CG quality score increases by one standard deviation,CSR improves by approximately 1.6–2.3%of the mean CSR score.Furthermore,the relationship between CG and CSR is stronger for business conglomerates(chaebol-affiliated firms),suggesting that sound CG practices can promote CSR activities more effectively when the interests of management and stakeholders are better aligned.This finding supports local legitimacy theory.Our findings are robust under various tests,including difference-in-differences analysis and propensity score matching.An interesting policy implication is that multinational enterprises or foreign investors should prioritize the CG quality of their local subsidiaries or investee firms.Better CG practices can enhance CSR activities,which are essential for long-term survival in local markets.This study,however,is limited to Korea and may not be generalizable to other emerging markets with different governance structures. 展开更多

The concept of 'full privacy' in electronic voting was firstly proposed, not only the privacy of voters is concerned, but also the candidates'. Privacy preserving electronic election architecture without any trusted third party is presented and a general technique for k-out-of-m election based on distributed E1Gamal encryption and mix-match is also provided. The voters can compute the result by themselves without disclosing their will and the vote of the losing candidates. Moreover, whether the vote of winner candidate is more than a half can be verified directly. This scheme satisfies 'vote and go' pattern and achieves full privacy. Voting plays a vital role in democratic societies.Adopting electronic voting can efectively increase voter participation and signifcantly reduce the fnancial burden on the organizers.In recent years,with the prevalence of blockchain technology,numerous blockchain-based electronic voting schemes have emerged.Compared with traditional electronic voting schemes,they have more favorable security features.However,existing schemes generally sufer from inefcient voting procedures,limited functionality,and dependence on specifc blockchain platforms,making them challenging to deploy in diverse voting scenarios.This paper proposes an efcient and versatile electronic voting scheme on blockchain that addresses these problems using our proposed smart contract-based aggregated blind signature,zero-knowledge proofs,and threshold encryption scheme.In the paper,the scheme’s various features,including security,are analyzed in detail,and the scheme is deployed and tested on the Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum blockchain platform.The experiment results demonstrate that the voting scheme satisfes the security requirement,and it has outstanding advantages in performance. 展开更多
