Neighbour Peer Selection Scheme Based on Effective Capacity for Mobile Peer-to-Peer Streaming

For Peer-to-Peer (P2P) streaming services in mobile networks, the selection of appropriate neighbour peers from candidate peers with demanding data is an important approach to improve Quality-of-Service (QoS). This paper proposes a novel Effective Capacity Peer Selection (ECPS) scheme based on effective capacity. In the ECPS scheme, the neighbour peer selection problem was modeled using the Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM) theory, which considered multiple factors of candidate peers, including Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio (SINR), residency time, power level, security, moving speed, and effective capacity. This model could increase the suitability of ECPS for wireless mobile environments. Then, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) was used to solve the MADM problem and identify the preferred neighbour peers. Simulation results show that the ECPS scheme can improve the network throughput, reduce packet delay by about 82%, and almost double the packet delivery ratio of the mobile P2P streaming service. 展开更多

The structure information of the active layer is analyzed by using the grazing incidence wide angle scattering diffraction combined with the optical microscope, light absorption, pho- toluminescence and the external quantum efficiency spectra. Development of high elongation steels by quenching and partitioning process

Based upon the composition of C-Si-Mn,four types of transformation induced plasticity( TRIP) steels with different contents of Si and M n were designed,which are subjected to quenching and partitioning( Q&P)processes with variable austenitizing temperatures. The as-treated steels exhibits good combination of high strength and substantial elongation. In particular,with austenitizing at 820 ℃,0. 18C-1. 8Si-2. 2M n( %) steel and0. 18C-1. 8Si-2. 5M n( %) steel possessed high elongation( more than 20%) with the tensile strength over 1000 M Pa. The microstructures of the as-treated steels were obtained by scanning electron microscope,the volume fraction and carbon content of retained austenite has been quantified by X-ray diffraction. The designed Q&P processed steels contained a multiphase microstructure including ferrite,lath martensite,and retained austenite. The volume fraction and carbon content of those steels were higher,which was treated by Q&P processes with austenitizing at 820 ℃. Due to the TRIP effect during the deformation process,retained austenite gives better stability as well as effectively improves the formability of steels with slightly decreasing the strength,contributing to overall better performance. 展开更多

The transformation and availability of various forms of Zn applied into a cinnamon soil and a carbonate meadow soil as well as the effects of fertilizer-P on them were studied by using the field experiment method and chemically sequential extraction procedure. Zn added into the soils was found to be rapidly transformed into the various forms. In the cinnamon soil, the amount of Zn transformed into the carbonate bound form was the highest, and the carbonate bound form was proven by the analyses of intensity factor and capacity factor to be the primary available Zn pool.But in the carbonate meadow soil, the Zn transformed was relatively homogeneously distributed in the various forms though the amount of Zn transformed into the Mn-oxide bound form was relatively high, and the organically bound, Mn-oxide bound and amorphous Fe-oxide.bound forms were found to be the main available Zn pool. Fertilizer-P took part in the regulation and control of available Zn in the soils to a certain degree. In the carbonate meadow soil, application of P fertilizer probably aggravated Zn deficiency at low Zn rate, while it was favorable to the storage of available Zn in the case of high Zn rate. 展开更多

The past decade has witnessed a surge of interest in exploring emergent particles in condensed matter systems.Novel particles,emerged as excitations around exotic band degeneracy points,continue to be reported in real materials and artificially engineered systems,but so far,we do not have a complete picture on all possible types of particles that can be achieved.Here,via systematic symmetry analysis and modeling,we accomplish a complete list of all possible particles in time-reversal-invariant systems.This includes both spinful particles such as electron quasiparticles in solids,and spinless particles such as phonons or even excitations in electric-circuit and mechanical networks.We establish detailed correspondence between the particle,the symmetry condition,the effective model,and the topological character.This obtained encyclopedia concludes the search for novel emergent particles and provides concrete guidance to achieve them in physical systems. 展开更多

Objective: To evaluate the cytotoxic effects of ampelopsin sodium(Amp-Na) and carboplatin(CBP) used alone or in combination on human non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) cells SPC-A1 in vitro and its related mechanism. Methods: Cytotoxic effects were assessed by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) assays. The synergistic effects of the drugs were calculated with coefficient of drug interaction(CDI). Cell cycle was determined by flow cytometry(FCM). The levels of p53, p21, cyclin E, cyclin D1, and phosphorylated cyclin-dependent kinase-2(p-CDK2) were evaluated by Western blot. Results: Amp-Na(6.25–200 μg/m L) and CBP(3.13–100 μg/m L) alone exhibited prominent cytotoxic activity in a concentration-dependent manner on SPC-A1 cells with 50% inhibitive concentration values of 57.07±14.46 and 34.97±6.30 μg/m L, respectively. Drug combinations were associated with significantly higher cytotoxic effects than each drug alone(P〈0.05 or 0.01). The CDI analysis confirmed the synergy of Amp-Na and CBP on inhibiting cancer cell viability across a wide concentration range(CDI 〈1). FCM and Western blot showed that synergistic cytotoxic effects of Amp-Na and CBP were related to G1 arrested which mainly mediated by p21 through the inhibition of CDK2 activity independent of the p53 tumor suppressor pathway. Conclusions: AmpNa exhibits anticancer activities and enhances the antitumor activities of CBP through up-regulation of p21 and inhibition of CDK2 activity in human NSCLC cells SPC-A1. These results suggest that Amp-Na may be applied to enhance the anticancer action of CBP. 展开更多

Using a previous model, which was developed to describe the light-induced creation of the defect density in the a-Si:H gap states, we present in this work a numerical modelling of the photodegradation effect in the a-Si:H p–i–n solar cell under continuous illumination. We first considered the simple case of a monochromatic light beam with a wavelength λ between 530–540 nm non uniformly absorbed, then the global standard solar spectrum(AM1.5) illumination is taken into account. The photodegradation is analysed on the basis of the resulting changes in the free carrier's densities, recombination rate, band structure, electrical potential and field, space charge, and current densities. Changes in the cell's external parameters: the open circuit voltage Voc, the short circuit current density Jsc, the fill factor FF and the maximum power density Pmaxare also presented. 展开更多
