Convergent journalism constitutes a systematic investigation into emergent journalistic forms, conceptual frameworks, and practices emerging within media convergence context, characterized by its inherent attributes of convergence, datacentricity, and interactivity.Grounded in the theoretical discourse of digital narratology, this monograph crystallizes its analytical focus on the triadic conceptual constellation of"convergence""mediaticity"and"narrativity",By positioning""convergence"as the central problematique,it systematically constructs an epistemological framework for convergent journalistic narrative through three dimensions:narrative theory, narrative language, and narrative praxis, thereby elucidates the ontological foundations and operational logics intrinsic to contemporary journalism studies. 展开更多

Jātaka story paintings are common narrative subjects in Dunhuang murals.Based on corresponding scriptures, they present all kinds of good deeds that Sakyamuni sacrificed his life to save sentient beings in his previous life.Dunhuang Jātaka story paintings are highly consistent with the scriptures in content, but their intuitiveness and expressiveness are more prominent.By comparing the narrative relationship between Jātaka story paintings in the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang and their corresponding scriptures, this study finds that the two have unity in reproducing artistic images and restoring key plots of classic Buddhist scripture stories, but there are great differences in the narrative effect.Dunhuang Jātaka story paintings have three prominent features in narrative, including visualization of key elements, concretization of expressions and movements, and contextualization of cause and effect. This study aims to reveal the intertextual narrative relationship between Dunhuang Jātaka story paintings and their corresponding scriptures. 展开更多

This study examines the integration of narrative medicine(NM)into primary healthcare(PHC)settings, evaluating its role in enhancing medical humanities education within grassroots healthcare institutions.Through a comprehensive literature review and case analysis, the research investigates the current state, challenges, and practical barriers to embedding NM into PHC systems, while proposing targeted strategies for improvement. The findings suggest that NM fosters stronger doctor-patient trust, enhances healthcare quality, and promotes humanistic care. However, primary hospitals face numerous challenges in advancing medical humanities, including a lack of trust between doctors and patients, tensions arising from the commercialization of healthcare, institutional limitations, unequal distribution of resources, and issues related to physicians'professional competencies and stress management. These interrelated obstacles detract from the quality of PHC services and the overall patient experience.Drawing on successful case studies from primary hospitals, the paper outlines effective strategies for overcoming these challenges. The study provides both theoretical and practical insights for advancing medical humanities in PHC,contributing to improvements in healthcare service quality and supporting the development of high standards in the healthcare sector.Ultimately, the findings aim to promote the broader adoption and ongoing refinement of NM within PHC institutions. 展开更多

This study examines the narrative interplay between Chinese and Australian cinemas, focusing on how Chinese cinematic forms-such as cyclical storytelling, mythological motifs, and magical realism-are influencing and reshaping contemporary Australian storytelling traditions.Through a comparative qualitative methodology, the research analyzes selected films, screenwriting practices, critical essays, and industry reports to identify key narrative structures, thematic patterns, and cultural dynamics across the two national cinemas.Findings reveal significant contrasts between the cyclical, mythologically rooted, and symbolically layered narratives characteristic of Chinese cinema and the traditionally linear, realist frameworks dominant in Australian filmmaking. However, increasing cultural exchange,co-productions,and multicultural influences have prompted Australian filmmakers to experiment with non-linear structures, mythic elements, and more complex representations of identity. The study contributes to cross-cultural film scholarship by proposing integrated analytical frameworks that highlight hybrid narrative forms and by offering practical implications for future Sino-Australian collaboration. These findings underscore the evolving global landscape of film narratives and the growing relevance of culturally adaptive storytelling strategies. 展开更多

Narrative nursing(NN)is emerging as a critical approach in modern healthcare, addressing the complex interplay between psychological well-being and physical recovery. This manuscript discusses a study on NN and its role in alleviating psychological distress in patients with acute pancreatitis, published in the World Journal of Psychiatry.Their research demonstrates that NN,through structured storytelling, significantly reduces anxiety and depression, thereby enhancing patient satisfaction and fostering emotional resilience. This therapeutic approach extends beyond symptom management, offering a comprehensive strategy that supports the mental and emotional recovery of patients facing severe health challenges.NN provides a unique framework for engaging patients in their care journey, promoting a sense of agency, and strengthening the patient-provider relationship. In this manuscript,we explore the broader implications of NN by synthesizing findings from various studies, showing that NN is effective not only in acute settings but also in oncology, chronic illness management, and palliative care. The evidence indicates that integrating NN into standard clinical practice could enhance healthcare outcomes by addressing the holistic needs of patients, supporting psychological resilience, and fostering a compassionate healthcare environment. 展开更多

This study examines the bidirectional shaping mechanism between short-video algorithms and film narratives within the attention economy. It investigates how algorithmic logic influences cinematic storytelling and how films,in turn, contribute to the aesthetic enhancement of short-video content.Drawing on Communication Accommodation Theory and Berry’s Acculturation Theory, along with case analyses and industry data, this research demonstrates that algorithms push films toward high-stimulus,fast-paced narrative patterns—characterized by increased shot density and structural fragmentation—to capture and retain viewer attention.Conversely, films counter this influence by supplying narratively deep and artistically refined content that elevates short-video aesthetics and encourages critical audience engagement. This dynamic reflects a process of mutual adaptation rather than one-sided dominance. The study concludes that such interaction signifies a broader restructuring of cultural production logic, facilitating cross-media convergence while simultaneously posing risks to cultural diversity due to the prioritization of high-traffic content.Balancing this relationship will require policy support, algorithmic transparency, and strengthened industry self-regulation to preserve artistic integrity and cultural ecosystem diversity. 展开更多

Anci... In the realm of Chinese narrative medicine, narrative thinking holds equal significance to evidence-based thinking within clinical practice, making substantial contributions to patient safety and medical quality. Ancient Chinese medical theories advocate forging a narrative bond with patients, urging healthcare practitioners to utilize Dao Shu Jie He(道术结合 integration of Dao and techniques) and Yi Dao Yu Shu(以道驭术 guiding techniques with Dao) during diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. In this context, Dao(道) in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) corresponds to narrative thinking(叙事思维) while Shu(术) aligns with scientific thinking(科学思维) in evidence-based medicine. This study adopts “narrative Chinese medicine” within the “discourse system of Chinese narrative medicine” as its framework, centering on medical stories that exemplify the application of narrative thinking in ancient Chinese diagnosis and treatment. It delves into the narrative thinking encapsulated in Chinese medicine, such as Guan Wu Qu Xiang(观物取象 observing things and extracting information), Can He Er Xing(参合而行 final examination and decision by integrating the four diagnoses), Xing Shen Bing Zhi(形神并治 body-spirit treatment), Xin Shen Jian Li(心身兼理 mind-body balance) and Bian Zheng Lun Zhi(辨证论治 treatment based on pattern differentiation). The study endeavors to inspire contemporary medical educators and clinicians to acknowledge the value of narrative thinking in TCM and fully incorporate it into daily medical practice. 展开更多
