文摘Objectives:In recent years, mental health has emerged as a pressing public health concern in China, driven by mounting societal pressures and fast-paced urban lifestyles.Physical activity,a well-established means of enhancing psychological well-being,has received growing scholarly and policy attention. This study uses panel data from the 2020 and 2022 waves of the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)to examine the impact of exercise frequency on mental health(with indicators such as CESD-8 depression scores)among college students and young employees, thereby providing empirical support for targeted mental health interventions. Methods:This study examines the relationship between individual exercise frequency and mental health among college students and young employees, using panel data from the 2020 and 2022 waves of the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS),with the Chinese version of the 8-item Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale(CESD-8)depression scores,self-rated health, and life satisfaction as outcome variables.Specifically, this study tests three hypotheses:(H1)increased exercise frequency significantly reduces depression symptoms and enhances well-being;(H2)the effects of exercise vary by social roles, with stronger mental health benefits among employed individuals and those with lower education;and(H3)lifestyle factors such as smoking amount, sleep duration, and Body Mass Index(BMI)partially mediate the relationship between exercise and mental health.Employing a two-way fixed effects model, baseline results indicate that a one-unit increase in exercise frequency significantly reduces the CESD-8 score by 0.183 points. To address potential endogeneity and spurious regression concerns,an instrumental variable(IV)approach is further applied. The heterogeneity analysis differentiates between students and employed individuals. Results:Among students, the effects of exercise on mental health are not statistically significant, regardless of education level. In contrast, for the employed, exercise demonstrates a significant positive impact on mental health, with particularly pronounced effects among those with lower educational attainment. These findings underscore the importance of promoting exercise as part of comprehensive mental health strategies.Mediation analysis indicates that the beneficial effect of exercise on mental health is partially transmitted through reductions in adverse health behaviors, especially smoking. Conclusions:Policymakers should integrate physical activity promotion into health interventions, prioritizing vulnerable groups to enhance psychological resilience and foster inclusive,health-oriented development.
文摘The rapidly evolving cybersecurity threat landscape exposes a critical flaw in traditional educational programs where static curricula cannot adapt swiftly to novel attack vectors. This creates a significant gap between theoretical knowledge and the practical defensive capabilities needed in the field. To address this,we propose TeachSecure-CTI,a novel framework for adaptive cybersecurity curriculumgeneration that integrates real-time Cyber Threat Intelligence(CTI)with AI-driven personalization. Our framework employs a layered architecture featuring a CTI ingestion and clusteringmodule, natural language processing for semantic concept extraction, and a reinforcement learning agent for adaptive content sequencing.Bydynamically aligning learningmaterialswithboththe evolving threat environment and individual learner profiles,TeachSecure-CTI ensures content remains current, relevant, and tailored.A 12-week study with 150 students across three institutions demonstrated that the framework improves learning gains by 34%,significantly exceeding the 12%–21%reported in recent literature. The system achieved 84.8%personalization accuracy,85.9%recognition accuracy for MITRE ATT&CK tactics, and a 31%faster competency development rate compared to static curricula. These findings have implications beyond academia, extending to workforce development, cyber range training, and certification programs.By bridging the gap between dynamic threats and static educational materials,TeachSecure-CTI offers an empirically validated, scalable solution for cultivating cybersecurity professionals capable of responding to modern threats.
文摘BACKGROUND Orthopaedic surgical education has traditionally depended on the apprenticeship model of“see one,do one, teach one”.However, reduced operative exposure, stricter work-hour regulations, medicolegal constraints, and patient safety concerns have constrained its practicality.Simulation-based training has become a reliable, safe, and cost-efficient alternative.Dry lab techniques, especially virtual and augmented reality, make up 78%of current dry lab research, whereas wet labs still set the standard for anatomical realism.AIM To evaluate the effectiveness, limitations, and future directions of wet and dry lab simulation in orthopaedic training.METHODS A scoping review was carried out across four databases-PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science, and EBSCOhost-up to 2025.Medical Subject Headings included:"Orthopaedic Education","Wet Lab","Dry Lab","Simulation Training","Virtual Reality",and"Surgical Procedure".Eligible studies focused on orthopaedic or spinal surgical education, employed wet or dry lab techniques, and assessed training effectiveness.Exclusion criteria consisted of non-English publications, abstracts only,non-orthopaedic research, and studies unrelated to simulation. Two reviewers independently screened titles, abstracts, and full texts, resolving discrepancies with a third reviewer.RESULTS From 1851 records,101 studies met inclusion:78 on dry labs,7 on wet labs,4 on both.Virtual reality(VR)simulations were most common, with AI increasingly used for feedback and assessment.Cadaveric training remains the gold standard for accuracy and tactile feedback, while dry labs-especially VR-offer scalability, lower cost(40%-60%savings in five studies),and accessibility for novices.Senior residents prefer wet labs for complex tasks;juniors favour dry labs for basics.Challenges include limited transferability data, lack of standard outcome metrics, and ethical concerns about cadaver use and AI assessment.CONCLUSION Wet and dry labs each have unique strengths in orthopaedic training.A hybrid approach combining both, supported by standardised assessments and outcome studies,is most effective.Future efforts should aim for uniform reporting, integrating new technologies, and policy support for hybrid curricula to enhance skills and patient care.
文摘This scoping review aimed to explore the nature and structure of Student Counselling and Development Units(SCDUs)in Africa towards a better understanding of the role they play in African Higher Education Institutions(HEIs).A comprehensive literature search of ten years(2015-2025)on five electronic databases was conducted.Titles and abstracts were screened, and full articles examined, resulting in 23 studies meeting the inclusion criteria.Using thematic analysis, five main overarching themes were identified:(i)the scope and focus of services in SCDUs,(ii)multidisciplinary teams,(iii)approaches to service provision,(iv)challenges in providing effective support, and(v)adaptability of SCDUs.These themes highlighted that SCDUs offer a multidimensional range of support services and adopt systems-based frameworks. Moreover, they face significant challenges, including limited resources, poor service utilization, and the need for culturally sensitive practices.Conversely,a major strength is their adaptability of implementing online and blended service delivery models.
基金Funding Source:2024 Heilongjiang Province Higher Education Teaching Reform Key Research Project.Project Name:Practice and Exploration of Curriculum-Based Political Education in the Intercultural Communication Course Under the New Liberal Arts Framework(Grant No.SJGZB2024063).
文摘This study investigates how to pedagogically integrate ideological education with competency development in the Intercultural Communication course,a challenge arising from China’s dual reform contexts of the New Liberal Arts initiative and the national curriculum ideology policy. As global interactions intensify, cultivating foreign language professionals who possess both firm cultural confidence and sophisticated intercultural competence have become a critical educational imperative. This exploratory study investigates how a three-dimensional“Value-Knowledge-Competency”framework can guide the redesign of course content, task design, and assessment to achieve organic fusion.Drawing on qualitative data from a case study,it analyzes specific implementation pathways, synthesizes teacher and student feedback, and discusses the resultant challenges and broader implications for foreign language curriculum reform. The findings suggest that such an integrated approach can effectively synergize value guidance with skill cultivation, though its success hinges on overcoming issues related to pedagogical naturalness, resource allocation, and standardized evaluation.
