A lot of highly educated personnel in order to better adapt to social development and changes, constantly to learn knowledge, also has the characteristics of vocational college students. Purpose:This study analyzes the Programme for International Student Assessment(PISA)data,revealing that the test itself reflects China’s educational problems as well as the resultant effect of digital governance.Exam...Purpose:This study analyzes the Programme for International Student Assessment(PISA)data,revealing that the test itself reflects China’s educational problems as well as the resultant effect of digital governance.Examining the root cause of these problems,this study demonstrates that the education reforms implemented in response to the PISA have gone beyond digital governance.Design/Approach/Methods:This study conducts a text analysis of materials related to China’s education system,including PISA data and analytical reports published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development since 2009.Findings:Reflected by PISA data,the main problems facing China’s educational sector include the overburdening of students at school,emphasis on knowledge acquisition during the teaching process,and the prevalence of extracurricular tuition.The digital governance effect triggered by PISA is highly consistent with China’s constant and excessive pursuit of efficiency,emphasis on scores,and the rate of students entering higher level schools.In the new era,China actively reflected on the disadvantages of digital governance before implementing a series of education reforms that go beyond it.Originality/Value:This study is based on China’s cultural background and the latest contexts.It examines the impact of the large-scale international assessment on China’s education governance and discusses the impact of digital governance on the education reforms in other countries.The implementation of China’s post-PISA education reforms demonstrates that different countries can implement rational education reforms based on their own cultural traditions and social realities as well as by referencing and using PISA data with care and prudence.展开更多

Using China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS) data between 1989 and 2011, this paper measures the returns to education in China based on the Mincer earnings function and reaches the following findings through an analy...Using China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS) data between 1989 and 2011, this paper measures the returns to education in China based on the Mincer earnings function and reaches the following findings through an analysis of the tendency of continuous variations over a long timeframe: returns to education are on the rise within the range of samples both under relative and absolute scenarios; returns to different levels of education are characterized by increasing marginal return; no significant difference exists between the returns to junior middle school and the returns to primary school education. Further discussions consider that the requirements of job positions for the overall competence of personnel, differentiated decline of corporate demand for recruitment, lack of an evaluation system in the labor market, information asymmetry in the job market, the development strategy adopted in a particular stage of history and the current slow progress of economic transition have jointly led to the underemployment of college graduates and the great enthusiasm of parents investing in higher education for their children. Conclusions of this paper not only have important practical relevance to the ongoing implementation of China's innovation-driven development strategy, but offer inspirations for the new round of educational reform as well.展开更多

With the continuous development of China, Chinese educational system is also facing a new stage of development. Starting with analyzing the case of New Oriental School, a very popular training institution in China, this paper finds its sponsoring characteristics and the current situation of education in China by surveying and comparing some data. It is found that New Oriental School's success is the integration of Chinese and western culture. On the one hand, New Oriental School pays attention to training teachers and learning advanced teaching ideas and methods of western countries, on the other hand, its education is directed towards Chinese examination-oriented education, which results from the current situation that China has a large population and sharp competitions and the examination-oriented education can not be replaced in this moment. Chinese education can get a lot of inspirations from New Oriental School's successful experience. It has been about one decade since China takes effect the basic education reform, and this study chooses 14 news reports about Chinese basic education reform in the recent years from both America and China as the rese...It has been about one decade since China takes effect the basic education reform, and this study chooses 14 news reports about Chinese basic education reform in the recent years from both America and China as the research samples, and analyzes the samples from the perspective of critical discourse analysis (CDA) to show whether there are differences in the two countries' news reports. The samples in this study are selected from the official websites of the two countries. Among the American news reports, some reports from New York Times and others from CNN; while among the Chinese reports, some are from China Daily and others are from CCTV. Under the theoretical framework of CDA, this paper is based on Fairclough's three-dimensional modes, and chooses Halliday's systemic-functional grammar as the analytical tool. It aims to reveal the hidden relationship between news reports language and ideology as well as power through the contrastive analysis. Through the analysis it finds out that the power relations and ideologies tend to exist in news reports on the issue of Chinese basic education reform. The purposes of news reports are not only to provide the latest information to readers, but also to influence the readers ideologies and at last even to control the readers' ideologies through reading of the very issue展开更多

文摘With the continuous development of China’s economy and the continuous upgrading of market demand,the demand for talent in enterprises and industries is increasingly diversified and complex,especially innovation ability has become one of the important standards to measure the quality of talent.At the same time,the difficult employment of college students is still serious,the state has issued a series of policies to encourage college students to actively start their own businesses.In this context,local universities,as an important part of higher education,are facing the critical task of innovation and entrepreneurship education reform.This paper aims to explore the current situation,problems,and reform paths of innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in local universities under the background of the integration of industry and education,in order to improve the training quality of innovative and entrepreneurial talents.

文摘This editorial comments on the article by Alzerwi.We focus on the development course,present challenges,and future perspectives of medical education.Modern medical education is gradually undergoing significant and profound changes worldwide.The emergence of new ideas,methodologies,and techniques has created opportunities for medical education developments and brought new concerns and challenges,ultimately promoting virtuous progress in medical education reform.The sustainable development of medical education needs joint efforts and support from governments,medical colleges,hospitals,researchers,administrators,and educators.
文摘The food major is an application-oriented major that involves a wide range of professional knowledge and disciplines,and provides applied talents with food production,inspection,and sales skills to the society.With the rapid development of society,the demand of social employers for talents also shows a diversified trend.For the cultivation of food professionals in the new era,it is necessary to improve their innovative spirit and practical ability,in order to adapt to the diverse development needs of society.Under the background of education reform,this paper briefly analyzed the teaching strategies of food major,and put forward specific reform suggestions,hoping to promote education reform to effectively promote the sustainable development of food major,and effectively improve the quality of education.
文摘This paper analyzes the requirement of professional computer talents in Chinese universities,and introduces the practice in innovative educational methods taken by Shandong University in an open and research environment.In order to improve educational quality,we have carried out a serial of reforms,including "Four Experiences" aiming at diversifying study environments and fostering their adaptability and extending their vision.Students are encouraged to join "Research Assistant" program and participate in scientific projects to improve their ability in research and innovation.They also conduct "Engineering Practice" to learn latest modeling and programming skills.Compound talents characterized of solid foundation,high quality and strong practical ability are shaped through these initiatives.
文摘In modern society, the essence of social competition is the competition of talents who are in need of education, and the education's quality can decide a nation's future and destiny. With the continuous development of China, Chinese educational system is also facing a new stage of development. Starting with analyzing the case of New Oriental School, a very popular training institution in China, this paper finds its sponsoring characteristics and the current situation of education in China by surveying and comparing some data. It is found that New Oriental School's success is the integration of Chinese and western culture. On the one hand, New Oriental School pays attention to training teachers and learning advanced teaching ideas and methods of western countries, on the other hand, its education is directed towards Chinese examination-oriented education, which results from the current situation that China has a large population and sharp competitions and the examination-oriented education can not be replaced in this moment. Chinese education can get a lot of inspirations from New Oriental School's successful experience. This paper makes a suggestion that China can benefit from the mode of New Oriental School, learning the advanced concepts and teaching methods of western countries, and doing some improvements to explore a suitable way for Chinese educational development.
文摘It has been about one decade since China takes effect the basic education reform, and this study chooses 14 news reports about Chinese basic education reform in the recent years from both America and China as the research samples, and analyzes the samples from the perspective of critical discourse analysis (CDA) to show whether there are differences in the two countries' news reports. The samples in this study are selected from the official websites of the two countries. Among the American news reports, some reports from New York Times and others from CNN; while among the Chinese reports, some are from China Daily and others are from CCTV. Under the theoretical framework of CDA, this paper is based on Fairclough's three-dimensional modes, and chooses Halliday's systemic-functional grammar as the analytical tool. It aims to reveal the hidden relationship between news reports language and ideology as well as power through the contrastive analysis. Through the analysis it finds out that the power relations and ideologies tend to exist in news reports on the issue of Chinese basic education reform. The purposes of news reports are not only to provide the latest information to readers, but also to influence the readers ideologies and at last even to control the readers' ideologies through reading of the very issue
