Based on the Regional Ocean Modeling System-Carbon–Silicate–Nitrate Ecosystem coupled model, the influence of Typhoon Bolaven(2012) on physical and ecological variables in the East China Sea and the underlying mechanisms were investigated. The results showed that the typhoon induced intense vertical mixing in the upper ocean, leading to sea surface cooling, increased salinity, nutrient concentrations, and phytoplankton blooms. Conversely, warming, reduced salinity, and decreased nutrient concentrations occurred in the subsurface layer. In the Yangtze River Estuary, the passage of typhoons effectively affected wind and current directions, shaping the dipole distribution patterns of the environmental elements. Diagnostic analysis indicated that tropical cyclone-induced horizontal advection is key in driving changes in both the physical and ecological variables within the estuary region. This study provides novel insights into the physical-ecological coupling processes and driving mechanisms governing oceanic environmental changes during typhoon events, particularly in the waters adjacent to the Yangtze River Estuary.展开更多

It is defined as the minimum water amount to be consumed by the natural water bodies to conserve its environmental and ecological functions. Based on the definition, the methods on calculating the amount of environmental and ecological water requirement are determined. In the case study on Haihe-Luanhe river system, the water requirement is divided into three parts, i.e., the basic in-stream flow, water requirement for sediment transfer and water consumption by evaporation of the lakes or everglades. The results of the calculation show that the environmental and ecological water requirement in the river system is about 124×108 m3, including 57×108 m3 for basic in-stream flow, 63×108 m3 for sediment transfer and 4×108 m3 for net evaporation loss of lakes. The total amount of environmental and ecological water requirement accounts for 54% of the amount of runoff (228×108 m3). However, it should be realized that the amount of environmental and ecological water requirement must be more than that we have calculated. According to this result, we consider that the rational utilization rate of the runoff in the river systems must not be more than 40%. Since the current utilization rate of the river system, which is over 80%, has been far beyond the limitation, the problems of environment and ecology are quite serious. It is imperative to control and adjust water development and utilization to eliminate the existing problems and to avoid the potential ecological or environmental crisis.展开更多

This paper selects the Landsat series remote sensing images of the northern Aksu region in 2013, 2016, and 2019, and uses the tools such as ENVI5.3 and ArcGIS 10.8.1 to process the image data accordingly. The principal component analysis method is used to calculate the Remote Sensing Ecological Index (RSEI) of the northern Aksu region. The data show that: 1) The ecological environment quality index in the northern Aksu region in 2013, 2016, and 2019 was 0.706087, 0.25243 and 0.362991 respectively;2) The areas where the ecological environment quality declined significantly in the northern Aksu region were the human settlements and the Gobi, fan-shaped land and other special terrain areas;3) The humidity index and the heat index are the two factors that have the greatest impact on the ecological environment quality in the northern Aksu area. The data as a whole show that the ecological environment in the northern part of the Aksu region has deteriorated seriously, and the severely deteriorated area is close to the human living area.展开更多

The specific growth rate tended to invert "U" change with temperature increase. The ecological conversion efficiency showed the same trend as temperature and feeding level rise. Only the specific growth rate tended to decelerate the increment with the rise of feeding level. From the above quantitative relationships, the maximum and optimal growth temper- atures could be obtained as 17.5 and 16.2 ℃, and the maintenance feeding rate and optimum feeding rate as 0.8% and 4. 1% of the body mass. The specific growth rate and ecological conversion coefficient showed a decelerating decrease trend with body mass increment. The small-sized fish food was more advantageous to the feeding level increase in comparison with the small-sized shrimp food, which led to the increase of growth, metabolism and excretion, but had no significant influence on the ecological conversion coefficient. All of temperature, feeding level, body mass and food species can obviously change the energy budget models. The assigning rate of growth energy tended to change along the invert "U" curve with the increase of temperature and feeding level, and decrease with the body mass increase, but the assigning rates of metabolism energy and excretion energy were quite reverse. These relationships could be quantitatively described as quadratic or power function curve. If the above relationships proved true to other marine fish, the establishment of energy budget model of the same fish under different conditions can be largely simplified.展开更多

However, in the whole process, the impact on the natural ecological environment and peoples home on which to live cannot be ignored. In the last century, China was in an important period of economic restructuring and strengthening the countrys strength. Industrial development was used to promote the countrys economic construction. Under the extensive industrial development model, the environmental pollution problem became more and more serious, and various air pollution, soil pollution and water pollution problems emerged one after another. With the transformation of Chinas economic system, a sustainable development strategic plan was put forward. The 14th Five-Year Plan even took "double carbon" as an important goal for Chinas future development. Therefore, it is also necessary to strengthen the exploration of the use of ecological environment monitoring technology and environmental protection technology, master the correct way of using the technology, and lay a solid foundation for Chinas ecological environment protection work.展开更多

文摘This study examines the relationship between ecological awareness, satisfaction, and the intention to participate in environmental protection in Vietnam, focusing on the mediating role of satisfaction and the moderating effects of social responsibility and ecological knowledge. While ecological awareness is a key driver of pro-environmental behavior, prior research shows that awareness alone does not always translate into concrete actions. To address this issue,we explore how satisfaction with environmental conditions strengthens the awareness-intention link and how personal responsibility and knowledge further enhance this process.Survey data were collected from 4,615 participants across six provinces, representing diverse ecological and socio-economic contexts.Structural equation modeling(SEM)results indicate that ecological awareness positively influences pro-environmental intention, but this effect is significantly stronger when individuals report higher levels of satisfaction.Satisfaction serves as a central mediator, showing that awareness must be complemented by confidence and trust in environmental outcomes to stimulate behavioral commitment. In addition, social responsibility and ecological knowledge moderate these relationships:individuals with greater responsibility and knowledge demonstrate stronger connections between awareness, satisfaction, and intention. The findings contribute to environmental psychology by emphasizing the interaction of cognitive, affective, and normative factors in shaping ecological behavior. For policymakers, the results highlight the need to design interventions that go beyond awareness-raising.Building satisfaction with environmental policies, fostering a sense of responsibility, and strengthening ecological knowledge are crucial for promoting sustainable behaviors and encouraging active citizen participation in environmental protection in Vietnam.

文摘In order to reduce the environmental and ecological problems induced by water resources development and utilization, this paper proposes a concept of environmental and ecological water requirement. It is imperative to control and adjust water development and utilization to eliminate the existing problems and to avoid the potential ecological or environmental crisis.

文摘Starting from the historical evolution of China s regional coordinated development policy and practice, three stages of"enlightenment stage","development stage"and"maturity stage",as well as the connotation, characteristics and content of implementing regional coordinated development strategy were analyzed. On this basis, from different aspects of industrial distribution, pollutant characteristics and regional environmental protection policy, the existing ecological and environmental protection problems in China s regional coordinated development in the new era were analyzed, and some suggestions for the next step were put forward. It is necessary to follow the"four ones"concept from the overall point of view, implement"three lines and one list"from the perspective of the width of the access red line, strengthen"joint prevention and control"from the perspective of the depth of regional regulation, deepen the"planning environmental impact assessment"from the perspective of the breadth of industrial distribution, and promote the"green-way model"from the perspective of ecological low carbon.
文摘In order to understand the development status of ecological environment quality in the Aksu region of China, to effectively adjust the ecological environment quality, so as to promote the sustainable development of its social economy and ecological environment protection. The data as a whole show that the ecological environment in the northern part of the Aksu region has deteriorated seriously, and the severely deteriorated area is close to the human living area.

文摘In the Maidao Ecological Laboratory of the Huanghai Sea Fisheries Research Institute in 1998 ~ 2000, the continuous flow-through method was adopted to determine the energy budget components and models of Schlegel' s black rockfish under different ecological and environmental factors, such as temperature, food species, body mass and feeding level, etc. The body mass of test fish ranged from 21.2 to 224.5 g. If the above relationships proved true to other marine fish, the establishment of energy budget model of the same fish under different conditions can be largely simplified.

文摘Integrated agronomic practice management(IAPM)is an effective strategy for increasing nitrogen(N)use efficiency(NUE)and yield during crop production.Although various studies have evaluated the mechanism of a single agronomic management practice to increase yield and production efficiency and decrease environmental costs, few have investigated the effects of IAPM systems.A field experiment was conducted using four IAPM systems,a local smallholder farmers’practice system(T1),an improved management system(T2),a high-yield production system(T3),and an optimized management system(OMS),to study the annual yield, greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions, carbon(C)footprint(CF),and net environmental ecological benefit(NEEB)of summer maize. The results revealed that OMS was the most advantageous choice of IAPM,which increased yield and NUE and reduced GHG emissions and CF.Under OMS,yield and NUE were 42.6%and 88.1%higher,and N_(2)O,CO_(2),and CH4 emissions were on average 35.4%,5.8%,and 156.5%lower,respectively,than those under T1.Of the four IAPM systems,OMS resulted in the best soil quality, the lowest soil bulk density, the highest soil C/N ratio, and the highest soil total organic C content, which contributed to reduced GHG emissions.Carbon footprint and cost were the lowest under OMS,which decreased fertilizer input and GHG emissions.Optimized management system reduced CF and C cost by 5.9%and 33.9%,respectively,and increased NEEB by 111.4%compared to T1.Although T3 had the highest yield,it also had the highest GHG emissions and CF.In conclusion,OMS delivered a high yield and NUE while mitigating negative environmental impacts and increasing NEEB.Therefore,OMS is a suitable management system to increase the productivity and sustainability of summer maize.
文摘Seeking water and earning their livelihoods is the natural selection of human beings.Like other rivers on the earth, the Yangtze River is the birthplace of human civilization and survival. As an ecosystem, the Yangtze River Basin is evolving under the influences of natural factors and human activities.Because of soil erosion, pollution and human activities, the imbalance of secondary environment is exacerbated and the ecological environment has become more vulnerable,so it is urgent to mitigate and prevent the ecological crisis. The practice has proved that implementation of engineering measures is an effective way to improve the ecological environment. The Three Gorges Project (TGP) has a flood control storage capacity of 22.15 billion m 3,effectively storing the flood water upstream of Yichang, and protects 15 million people and 1.5 million hm 2 farmland.Furthermore, the project can prevent or slow down the sedimentation and shrinkage of the lakes in the middle Yangtze River such as Dongting Lake;with an average annual power generation of about 90 billion kW· h,it can significantly reduce the emissions of harmful gas like CO 2.In general, the construction of TGP is conducive to the ecological and environmental protection in the Yangtze River Basin and China, even the world.

文摘The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with its high altitude and cold climate,is one of the most fragile ecological environments in China and is distinguished by its naturally elevated arsenic(As)levels in the soil, largely due to its rich mineral and geothermal resources. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of As content, focusing on its distribution, environmental migration, and transformation behavior across the plateau. The review further evaluates the distribution of As in different functional areas, revealing that geothermal fields(107.2 mg/kg),mining areas(53.8 mg/kg),and croplands(39.3 mg/kg)have the highest As concentrations, followed by river and lake sediments and adjacent areas(33.1 mg/kg).These elevated levels are primarily attributed to the presence of As-rich minerals, such as arsenopyrite and pyrite.Additionally, human activities, including mining and geothermal energy production, exacerbate the release of As into the environment. The review also highlights the role of localmicroorganisms, particularly those fromthe phyla Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria, which possess As metabolic genes that facilitate As translocation.Given the unique climatic conditions of the plateau, conventionalmethods for As controlmay not be fully effective. However, the review identifies promising remediation strategies that are environmentally adaptable, such as the use of local microorganisms, specific adsorbents, and integrated technologies, which offer potential solutions for managing and utilizing Ascontaminated soils on the plateau.

文摘Regular quantitative assessments of regional ecological environment quality(EEQ)and driving force analyses are highly important for environmental protection and sustainable development.Northern China is a typical climate-sensitive and ecologically vulnerable area, however, the changes in EEQ in this region and their underlying causes remain unclear.Traditional evaluations of EEQ rely primarily on the remote sensing ecological index(RSEI),which lacks assessments of indicators such as greenness(NDVI),humidity(WET),heat(LST),and dryness(NDBSI).To address these issues, this study employs the principal component analysis method and the Google Earth Engine to construct an RSEI suitable for long-term and large-scale applications and analyzes the spatio-temporal variations in the RSEI,NDVI,WET,NDBSI,and LST.Additionally, geographical detectors are utilized to analyze the driving factors affecting EEQ.The results indicate the following.(1)The RSEI shows a fluctuating upward trend, with an average value of 0.4566,indicating a gradual improvement in EEQ.The EEQ exhibited significant spatial heterogeneity, with a pattern of lower values in the west and higher values in the east.(2)The NDVI and WET exhibit fluctuating increasing trends, indicating improvements in both indices. The NDBSI shows a fluctuating decreasing trend, whereas the LST presents a fluctuating increasing trend, suggesting an improvement in the NDBSI and a slight deterioration in the LST.NDVI and WET demonstrate a spatial pattern characterized by low values in the west and high values in the east.NDBSI and LST demonstrate a spatial pattern characterized by low values in the east and high values in the west.(3)Land use types and precipitation are the primary driving factors influencing the spatial differentiation of the EEQ.The explanatory power of these driving factors significantly increases under their interactions, particularly the interaction between land use types and other driving factors. This study fills the gap in existing EEQ evaluations that analyze only the RSEI without considering the NDVI,WET,NDBSI,and LST.The findings provide new insights for EEQ assessments and serve as a scientific reference for environmental protection and sustainable development.

文摘With the continuous advancement of economic globalization, Chinas economic development level has been continuously improved. Therefore, it is also necessary to strengthen the exploration of the use of ecological environment monitoring technology and environmental protection technology, master the correct way of using the technology, and lay a solid foundation for Chinas ecological environment protection work.
