The WDO(Wind Driven Optimization) algorithm is used to optimize and tune the input/output membership function parameters of the fuzzy controller. The WDO algorithm is working based on the atmospheric motion of infinitesimal small air parcels navigates over an N-dimensional search domain. The performance of this proposed technique has compared through many computer simulations and real-time experiments by using Khepera-Ⅲ mobile robot. As compared to the T1-SFLS controller the Fuzzy-WDO algorithm is found good agreement for mobile robot navigation.展开更多

The former is the Duck site in North Carolina, on the east coast of the USA, which is exposed to Atlantic Ocean swells and storm waves, and the latter is the Milford-on-Sea site at Christchurch Bay, on the south coast of England, which is partially sheltered from Atlantic swells but has a directionally bimodal wave exposure. The data sets comprise detailed bathymetric surveys of beach profiles covering a period of more than 25 years for the Duck site and over 18 years for the Milford-on-Sea site. The structure of the data sets and the data-driven methods are described. Canonical correlation analysis (CCA) was used to find linkages between the wave characteristics and beach profiles. The sensitivity of the linkages was investigated by deploying a wave height threshold to filter out the smaller waves incrementally. The results of the analysis indicate that, for the gently sloping sandy beach, waves of all heights are important to the morphological response. For the mixed sand and gravel beach, filtering the smaller waves improves the statistical fit and it suggests that low-height waves do not play a primary role in the medium-term morohological resoonse, which is primarily driven by the intermittent larger storm waves.展开更多

An ultrafast-quenched plastic scintillation detector was used to measure the time of flight for the neutron at a low-imploded DT neutron yield (5×107-1×108) in the experiment performed on the Shenguang Ⅱ laser facility. The typical temperatures of ablating targets for indirect drive were around 2.8 keV and the uncertainties were ±30 % - ±40%. The detection efficiency of the detector for DT neutrons was calibrated at a K-400 accelerator. The time response function of the detection system was calibrated by imploded neutrons from a DT-filled capsule, which can be regarded as a S function pulsed neutron source due to its much narrower pulse width than that of the measured neutron time-of-flight spectrum.展开更多

First we prepare key sample examples and corresponding key target examples. Next we segment the whole face into two regions, for each region we reduce dimensionality of source examples using PAC into abstract space which is defined by truncated PCA eigen- vectors. Then for each example we fix the cardinal base function, which can determine the weight of the target example. Finally, in the animation stage we compute the weight of each example for each frame and add the weighted displacement vectors of each re- gion on the general face model.展开更多

It was used a new set of point kinetics equations for subcritical systems based on the model proposed by Gandini & Salvatores. In this work it was employed the integrating factor method. The analytical solution for the case of interest was obtained by using only an approximation which consists of disregarding the term of the second derivative for neutron density in relation to time when compared with the other terms of the equation. And also, it is proposed an approximation for the upper incomplete gamma function found in the solution in order to make the computational processing faster. In addition, for purposes of validation and comparison a numerical solution was obtained by the finite differences method. Finally, it can be concluded that the obtained solution is accurate and has fast numerical processing time, especially when compared with the results of numerical solution by finite difference. One can also observe that the gamma approximation used achieve a high accuracy for the usual parameters. Thus we got satisfactory results when the solution is applied to practical situations, such as a reactor startup.展开更多

However, these MIQ parameters are difficult to be directly measured online, and large-time delay exists in off-line analysis through laboratory sampling. Focusing on the practical challenge, a data-driven modeling method was presented for the prediction of MIQ using the improved muhivariable incremental random vector functional-link net- works (M-I-RVFLNs). Compared with the conventional random vector functional-link networks (RVFLNs) and the online sequential RVFLNs, the M-I-RVFLNs have solved the problem of deciding the optimal number of hidden nodes and overcome the overfitting problems. Moreover, the proposed M I RVFLNs model has exhibited the potential for multivariable prediction of the MIQ and improved the terminal condition for the multiple-input multiple-out- put (MIMO) dynamic system, which is suitable for the BF ironmaking process in practice. Ultimately, industrial experiments and contrastive researches have been conducted on the BF No. 2 in Liuzhou Iron and Steel Group Co. Ltd. of China using the proposed method, and the results demonstrate that the established model produces better estima ting accuracy than other MIQ modeling methods.展开更多
