Looking back on the development process of high school geography education, there are some problems in high school geography teaching, which need to be reformed. According to the development direction of senior high school and the specific requirements of geography, the training of senior high school geography reading ability has become an important teaching content of senior high school geography. Geography course is a course based on reading maps. It can effectively improve the ability of reading maps, and can help high school students to better master the knowledge of geography. It plays an important role in forming the comprehensive ability of geography. This paper takes the teaching method of geography reading in senior high school as the research object, and tries to improve students' ability of reading maps through effective teaching methods.
