Smelting with oxygen bottom blowing is one of the main methods used in the frame of copper pyrometallurgy.With this approach,feed materials and oxygen-enriched air are introduced in reversed order to enhance multiphas...Smelting with oxygen bottom blowing is one of the main methods used in the frame of copper pyrometallurgy.With this approach,feed materials and oxygen-enriched air are introduced in reversed order to enhance multiphaseflow within the furnace.Understanding the flow structure and temperature distribution in this setup is crucial foroptimizing production.In this study,gas-liquid interactions,and temperature profiles under varying air-injectionconditions are examined by means of numerical simulation for a 3.2 m×20 m furnace.The results indicate that thehigh-velocity regions are essentially distributed near the lance within the reaction region and the flue gas outlet,while low-velocity regions are located close to the furnace walls on both side of the reaction region.Dead regionsappear in the sedimentation region,with gas velocities surpassing those of the molten phase.As the injection rateincreases from 0.50 to 0.80 Nm3/s,the stabilization time of the average liquid surface velocity decreases from 2.6 sto 1.9 s,exhibiting a similar trend to the gas holdup.During stabilization,the average liquid surface velocity risesfrom 0.505 to 0.702 m/s.The average turbulent kinetic energy(TKE)of the fluid in the molten bath increases from0.095 to 0.162 m^(2)/s^(2).The proportion of the area distribution with TKE greater than 0.10 m^(2)/s^(2) and the gas holdupat steady state both rise with an increase in the injection quantity.The maximum splashing height of the melt growsfrom approximately 0.756 to 1.154 m,with the affected area expanding from 14.239 to 20.498 m^(2).Under differentworking conditions with varying injection quantities,the average temperature changes in melt zone and flue gaszone of the furnace are small.The temperature in the melt and in the flue-gas zone spans the interval 1200℃–1257℃,and 1073℃–1121℃,respectively.The temperature distribution of the melt and flue gas reveals a patterncharacterized by elevated temperatures in the reaction zone,gradually transitioning to lower temperatures in thesedimentation region.展开更多
Effective isolation between the cement sheath and the sandstone is crucial for the development and production of oil and gas wells in sandstone formations.In this study,a cement-sandstone composite(CSC)was prepared,an...Effective isolation between the cement sheath and the sandstone is crucial for the development and production of oil and gas wells in sandstone formations.In this study,a cement-sandstone composite(CSC)was prepared,and based onμ-CT three-dimensional reconstruction imaging and finite element analysis(FEA)techniques,the stress distribution and potential failure mechanism at the cement-sandstone bonding interface under axial loading were analyzed.The key findings are as follows:(1)stress concentrations are highly likely to form at the gap between the cement and sandstone interface and around interfacial voids,with Von Mises stress reaching critical levels of 18.0-20.0 MPa at these locations,significantly exceeding the stress magnitudes in well-bonded regions;(2)the phenomenon of local stress concentration driven by interfacial defects can be identified as the main basis for predicting damage location in interfacial debonding and continuous shear under axial load;(3)ensuring tight cementation at the cement-sandstone interface and minimizing interfacial voids are paramount for preventing stress-induced failure;(4)the critical Von Mises stress value of 20 MPa at the interface defect can be used as a benchmark for material selection and designed to ensure long-term integrity in oil and gas well applications subjected to similar axial loads.These findings contribute to a more accurate understanding of the failure mechanism of the cement-sandstone interface and to the precise design of material properties,thereby ensuring the long-term integrity of oil and gas well applications subjected to similar axial loads.展开更多
Local control parameters such as instantaneous delay and instantaneous amplitude play an essential role in evaluating the performance and maintaining the stability of real-time hybrid simulation(RTHS).However,existing...Local control parameters such as instantaneous delay and instantaneous amplitude play an essential role in evaluating the performance and maintaining the stability of real-time hybrid simulation(RTHS).However,existing methods have limitations in obtaining this local assessment in either the time domain or frequency domain.In this study,the instantaneous frequency is introduced to determine local control parameters for actuator tracking assessment in a real-time hybrid simulation.Instantaneous properties,including amplitude,delay,frequency and phase,are then calculated based on analytic signals translated from actuator tracking signals through the Hilbert transform.Potential issues are discussed and solutions are proposed for calculation of local control parameters.Numerical simulations are first conducted for sinusoidal and chirp signals with time varying amplitude error and delay to demonstrate the potential of the proposed method.Laboratory tests also are conducted for a predefined random signal as well as the RTHS of a single degree of freedom structure with a self-centering viscous damper to experimentally verify the effectiveness of the proposed use of the instantaneous frequency.Results from the ensuing analysis clearly demonstrate that the instantaneous frequency provides great potential for local control assessment,and the proposed method enables local tracking parameters with good accuracy.展开更多
Due to the restricted satellite payloads in LEO mega-constellation networks(LMCNs),remote sensing image analysis,online learning and other big data services desirably need onboard distributed processing(OBDP).In exist...Due to the restricted satellite payloads in LEO mega-constellation networks(LMCNs),remote sensing image analysis,online learning and other big data services desirably need onboard distributed processing(OBDP).In existing technologies,the efficiency of big data applications(BDAs)in distributed systems hinges on the stable-state and low-latency links between worker nodes.However,LMCNs with high-dynamic nodes and long-distance links can not provide the above conditions,which makes the performance of OBDP hard to be intuitively measured.To bridge this gap,a multidimensional simulation platform is indispensable that can simulate the network environment of LMCNs and put BDAs in it for performance testing.Using STK's APIs and parallel computing framework,we achieve real-time simulation for thousands of satellite nodes,which are mapped as application nodes through software defined network(SDN)and container technologies.We elaborate the architecture and mechanism of the simulation platform,and take the Starlink and Hadoop as realistic examples for simulations.The results indicate that LMCNs have dynamic end-to-end latency which fluctuates periodically with the constellation movement.Compared to ground data center networks(GDCNs),LMCNs deteriorate the computing and storage job throughput,which can be alleviated by the utilization of erasure codes and data flow scheduling of worker nodes.展开更多
Rooftop distributed photovoltaic(DPV)systems show promise for alleviating the energy crisis resulting from summer urban cooling demands and mitigating secondary hazards associated with urban heat islands.In this study...Rooftop distributed photovoltaic(DPV)systems show promise for alleviating the energy crisis resulting from summer urban cooling demands and mitigating secondary hazards associated with urban heat islands.In this study,a parametric scheme for rooftop DPVs was incorporated into the Weather,Research and Forecasting model.The period from August 12–16,2022,during a heatwave in Jiangsu Province,China,was selected as the weather background to simulate the impact of rooftop DPVs with varying power generation efficiencies on urban thermal environments and energy supply.The results indicate that(1)rooftop DPVs reduce urban air temperatures at 2 m by weakening the solar radiation reaching the surface.As solar panel efficiency improves,the cooling effects become more significant,particularly at night.Day and night air temperatures at 2 m can decrease by approximately 0.1°C–0.4°C and 0.2°C–0.7°C,respectively;(2)Installing rooftop DPVs can lower boundary layer temperatures,with pronounced cooling effects during the day(up to 0.7°C at 08:00)and night(up to 0.6°C at 20:00);(3)If all buildings are equipped with rooftop DPVs,the electricity generated could meet Jiangsu Province’s total electricity demand during heatwaves.With 30%generation efficiency and rooftop DPVs installed at 40%of buildings,the electricity produced can meet the entire electricity demand.展开更多

The Carter model is used to characterize the dynamic behaviors of fracture growth and fracturing fluid leakoff.A thermo-fluid coupling temperature response forward model is built considering the fluid flow and heat tr...The Carter model is used to characterize the dynamic behaviors of fracture growth and fracturing fluid leakoff.A thermo-fluid coupling temperature response forward model is built considering the fluid flow and heat transfer in wellbore,fracture and reservoir.The influences of fracturing parameters and fracture parameters on the responses of distributed temperature sensing(DTS)are analyzed,and a diagnosis method of fracture parameters is presented based on the simulated annealing algorithm.A field case study is introduced to verify the model’s reliability.Typical V-shaped characteristics can be observed from the DTS responses in the multi-cluster fracturing process,with locations corresponding to the hydraulic fractures.The V-shape depth is shallower for a higher injection rate and longer fracturing and shut-in time.Also,the V-shape is wider for a higher fracture-surface leakoff coefficient,longer fracturing time and smaller fracture width.Additionally,the cooling effect near the wellbore continues to spread into the reservoir during the shut-in period,causing the DTS temperature to decrease instead of rise.Real-time monitoring and interpretation of DTS temperature data can help understand the fracture propagation during fracturing operation,so that immediate measures can be taken to improve the fracturing performance.展开更多

To address the challenges in studying the pore formation and evolution processes,and unclear preservation mechanisms of deep to ultra-deep carbonate rocks,a high-temperature and high-pressure visualization simulation ...To address the challenges in studying the pore formation and evolution processes,and unclear preservation mechanisms of deep to ultra-deep carbonate rocks,a high-temperature and high-pressure visualization simulation experimental device was developed for ultra-deep carbonate reservoirs.Carbonate rock samples from the Sichuan Basin and Tarim Basin were used to simulate the dissolution-precipitation process of deep to ultra-deep carbonate reservoirs in an analogous geological setting.This unit comprises four core modules:an ultra-high temperature,high pressure triaxial stress core holder module(temperature higher than 300°C,pressure higher than 150 MPa),a multi-stage continuous flow module with temperature-pressure regulation,an ultra-high temperature-pressure sapphire window cell and an in-situ high-temperature-pressure fluid property measurement module and real-time ultra-high temperature-pressure permeability detection module.The new experimental device was used for simulation experiment,the geological insights were obtained in three aspects.First,the pore-throat structure of carbonate is controlled by lithology and initial pore-throat structure,and fluid type,concentration and dissolution duration determine the degree of dissolution.The dissolution process exhibits two evolution patterns.The dissolution scale is positively correlated to the temperature and pressure,and the pore-forming peak period aligns well with the hydrocarbon generation peak period.Second,the dissolution potential of dolomite in an open flow system is greater than that of limestone,and secondary dissolved pores formed continuously are controlled by the type and concentration of acidic fluids and the initial physical properties.These pores predominantly distribute along pre-existing pore/fracture zones.Third,in a nearly closed diagenetic system,after the chemical reaction between acidic fluids and carbonate rock reaches saturation and dynamic equilibrium,the pore structure no longer changes,keeping pre-existing pores well-preserved.These findings have important guiding significance for the evaluation of pore-throat structure and development potential of deep to ultra-deep carbonate reservoirs,and the prediction of main controlling factors and distribution of high-quality carbonate reservoirs.展开更多

Newly developeddistributed acoustic sensing (DAS) technology enables estimation of the shear-wave distribution as ahigh-density seismic observation system. This technology is characterized by low maintenance costs,high-resolution outputs, and real-time data transmission capabilities, albeit with the challenge ofmanaging massive data generation. Rapid and efficient interpretation of data is the key to advancingapplication of the DAS technology. In this study, field tests were carried out to record ambient noise overa short period using DAS technology, from which the surface-wave dispersion curves were extracted. Inorder to reduce the influence of directional effects on the results, an unsupervised clustering method isused to select appropriate clusters to extract the Green's function. A combination of a genetic algorithmand Monte Carlo (GA-MC) simulation is proposed to invert the subsurface velocity structure. Thestratigraphic profiles obtained by the GA-MC method are in agreement with the borehole profiles.Compared to other methods, the proposed optimization method not only improves the solution qualitybut also reduces the solution time.展开更多
In recent years,frequent fire disasters have led to enormous damage in China.Effective firefighting rescues can minimize the losses caused by fires.During the rescue processes,the travel time of fire trucks can be sev...In recent years,frequent fire disasters have led to enormous damage in China.Effective firefighting rescues can minimize the losses caused by fires.During the rescue processes,the travel time of fire trucks can be severely affected by traffic conditions,changing the effective coverage of fire stations.However,it is still challenging to determine the effective coverage of fire stations considering dynamic traffic conditions.This paper addresses this issue by combining the traveling time calculationmodelwith the effective coverage simulationmodel.In addition,it proposes a new index of total effective coverage area(TECA)based on the time-weighted average of the effective coverage area(ECA)to evaluate the urban fire services.It also selects China as the case study to validate the feasibility of the models,a fire station(FS-JX)in Changsha.FS-JX station and its surrounding 9,117 fire risk points are selected as the fire service supply and demand points,respectively.A total of 196 simulation scenarios throughout a consecutiveweek are analyzed.Eventually,1,933,815 sets of valid sample data are obtained.The results showed that the TECA of FS-JX is 3.27 km^(2),which is far below the standard requirement of 7.00 km^(2) due to the traffic conditions.The visualization results showed that three rivers around FS-JX interrupt the continuity of its effective coverage.The proposed method can provide data support to optimize the locations of fire stations by accurately and dynamically determining the effective coverage of fire stations.展开更多

This study presents a pioneering effort in achieving a comprehensive numerical si...The spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of the regression rate are crucial aspects of the research on Hybrid Rocket Motor(HRM). This study presents a pioneering effort in achieving a comprehensive numerical simulation of fluid dynamics and heat transfer in both the fluid and solid regions throughout the entire operation of an HRM. To accomplish this, a dynamic grid technique that incorporates fluid–solid coupling is utilized. To validate the precision of the numerical simulations, a firing test is conducted, with embedded thermocouple probes being used to measure the inner temperature of the fuel grain. The temperature variations in the solid fuel obtained from both experiment and simulations show good agreement. The maximum combustion temperature and average thrust obtained from the simulations are found to deviate from the experimental results by only 3.3% and 2.4%, respectively. Thus, it can be demonstrated that transient numerical simulations accurately capture the fluid–solid coupling characteristics and transient regression rate. The dynamic simulation results of inner flow field and solid region throughout the entire working stage reveal that the presence of vortices enhances the blending of combustion gases and improves the regression rate at both the front and rear ends of the fuel grain. In addition, oscillations of the regression rate obtained in the simulation can also be well corresponded with the corrugated surface observed in the experiment. Furthermore, the zero-dimension regression rate formula and the formula describing the axial location dependence of the regression rate are fitted from the simulation results, with the corresponding coefficients of determination(R^(2)) of 0.9765 and 0.9298, respectively.This research serves as a reference for predicting the performance of HRM with gas oxygen and polyethylene, and presents a credible way for investigating the spatiotemporal distribution of the regression rate.展开更多
The objective of this study is to quantitatively evaluate Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) data with rain gauge data and further to use this TRMM data to drive a Dis- tributed Time-Variant Gain Model (DT...The objective of this study is to quantitatively evaluate Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) data with rain gauge data and further to use this TRMM data to drive a Dis- tributed Time-Variant Gain Model (DTVGM) to perform hydrological simulations in the semi-humid Weihe River catchment in China. Before the simulations, a comparison with a 10-year (2001-2010) daily rain gauge data set reveals that, at daily time step, TRMM rainfall data are better at capturing rain occurrence and mean values than rainfall extremes. On a monthly time scale, good linear relationships between TRMM and rain gauge rainfall data are found, with determination coefficients R2 varying between 0.78 and 0.89 for the individual stations. Subsequent simulation results of seven years (2001-2007) of data on daily hydro- logical processes confirm that the DTVGM when calibrated by rain gauge data performs better than when calibrated by TRMM data, but the performance of the simulation driven by TRMM data is better than that driven by gauge data on a monthly time scale. The results thus suggest that TRMM rainfall data are more suitable for monthly streamfiow simulation in the study area, and that, when the effects of recalibration and the results for water balance components are also taken into account, the TRMM 3B42-V7 product has the potential to perform well in similar basins.展开更多

The main objective of this simulation is to p...A model suitable for describing the mechanical response of thin elastic objects is proposed to simulate the deformation of guide wires in minimally invasive interventions. The main objective of this simulation is to provide doctors an opportunity to rehearse the surgery and select an optimal operation plan before the real surgery. In this model the guide wire is discretized with the multi-body representation and its elastic energy derivate from elastic theory is a polynomial function of the nodal displacements. The vascular structure is represented by a tetrahedron mesh extended from the triangular mesh of the artery, which can be extracted from the patient's CT image data. The model applies the energy decline process of the conjugate gradient method to the deformation simulation of the guide wire. Experimental results show that the polynomial relationship between elastic energy and nodal displacements tremendously simplifies the evaluation of the conjugate gradient method and significantly improves the model's efficiency. Compared with models depending on an explicit scheme for evaluation, the new model is not only non-conditionally stable but also more efficient. The model can be applied to the real-time simulation of guide wire in a vascular structure.展开更多

A loading assembl...Real-time hybrid simulation is an efficient and cost-effective dynamic testing technique for performance evaluation of structural systems subjected to earthquake loading with rate-dependent behavior. A loading assembly with multiple actuators is required to impose realistic boundary conditions on physical specimens. However, such a testing system is expected to exhibit significant dynamic coupling of the actuators and suffer from time lags that are associated with the dynamics of the servo-hydraulic system, as well as control-structure interaction (CSI). One approach to reducing experimental errors considers a multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) controller design, yielding accurate reference tracking and noise rejection. In this paper, a framework for multi-axial real-time hybrid simulation (maRTHS) testing is presented. The methodology employs a real-time feedback-feedforward controller for multiple actuators commanded in Cartesian coordinates. Kinematic transformations between actuator space and Cartesian space are derived for all six-degrees-of- freedom of the moving platform. Then, a frequency domain identification technique is used to develop an accurate MIMO transfer function of the system. Further, a Cartesian-domain model-based feedforward-feedback controller is implemented for time lag compensation and to increase the robustness of the reference tracking for given model uncertainty. The framework is implemented using the 1/5th-scale Load and Boundary Condition Box (LBCB) located at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. To demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed methodology, a single-story frame subjected to earthquake loading is tested. One of the columns in the fraane is represented physically in the laboratory as a cantilevered steel column. For real- time execution, the numerical substructure, kinematic transformations, and controllers are implemented on a digital signal processor. Results show excellent performance of the maRTHS framework when six-degrees-of-freedom are controUed at the interface between substructures.展开更多

The analysis of the FE numerical substructure is split into response analysis and signal generation tasks, and executed in two different target computers in real-time. One target computer implements the response analysis task, wherein a large time-step is used to solve the FE substructure, and another target computer implements the signal generation task, wherein an interpolation program is used to generate control signals in a small time-step to meet the input demand of the controller. By using this strategy, the scale of the FE numerical substructure simulation may be increased significantly. The proposed scheme is initially verified by two FE numerical substructure models with 98 and 1240 degrees of freedom (DOFs). Thereafter, RTDHTs of a single frame-foundation structure are implemented where the foundation, considered as the numerical substructure, is simulated by the FE model with 1240 DOFs. Good agreements between the results of the RTDHT and those from the FE analysis in ABAQUS are obtained.展开更多

The mathematical logic model of high arch dam construction process was established. By combining dynamic construction simulation with schedule analysis, the process of construction schedule forecasting and analysis based on dynamic simulation was studied. The process of real-time schedule control was constructed and some measures for dynamic adjustment and control of construction schedule were provided. A system developed with the method is utilized in a being constructed hydroelectric project located at the Yellow River in northwest China, which can make the pouring plan of the dam in the next stage (a month, quarter or year) to guide the practical construction. The application result shows that the system provides an effective technical support for the construction and management of the dam.展开更多

文摘Smelting with oxygen bottom blowing is one of the main methods used in the frame of copper pyrometallurgy.With this approach,feed materials and oxygen-enriched air are introduced in reversed order to enhance multiphaseflow within the furnace.Understanding the flow structure and temperature distribution in this setup is crucial foroptimizing production.In this study,gas-liquid interactions,and temperature profiles under varying air-injectionconditions are examined by means of numerical simulation for a 3.2 m×20 m furnace.The results indicate that thehigh-velocity regions are essentially distributed near the lance within the reaction region and the flue gas outlet,while low-velocity regions are located close to the furnace walls on both side of the reaction region.Dead regionsappear in the sedimentation region,with gas velocities surpassing those of the molten phase.As the injection rateincreases from 0.50 to 0.80 Nm3/s,the stabilization time of the average liquid surface velocity decreases from 2.6 sto 1.9 s,exhibiting a similar trend to the gas holdup.During stabilization,the average liquid surface velocity risesfrom 0.505 to 0.702 m/s.The average turbulent kinetic energy(TKE)of the fluid in the molten bath increases from0.095 to 0.162 m^(2)/s^(2).The proportion of the area distribution with TKE greater than 0.10 m^(2)/s^(2) and the gas holdupat steady state both rise with an increase in the injection quantity.The maximum splashing height of the melt growsfrom approximately 0.756 to 1.154 m,with the affected area expanding from 14.239 to 20.498 m^(2).Under differentworking conditions with varying injection quantities,the average temperature changes in melt zone and flue gaszone of the furnace are small.The temperature in the melt and in the flue-gas zone spans the interval 1200℃–1257℃,and 1073℃–1121℃,respectively.The temperature distribution of the melt and flue gas reveals a patterncharacterized by elevated temperatures in the reaction zone,gradually transitioning to lower temperatures in thesedimentation region.

文摘Effective isolation between the cement sheath and the sandstone is crucial for the development and production of oil and gas wells in sandstone formations.In this study,a cement-sandstone composite(CSC)was prepared,and based onμ-CT three-dimensional reconstruction imaging and finite element analysis(FEA)techniques,the stress distribution and potential failure mechanism at the cement-sandstone bonding interface under axial loading were analyzed.The key findings are as follows:(1)stress concentrations are highly likely to form at the gap between the cement and sandstone interface and around interfacial voids,with Von Mises stress reaching critical levels of 18.0-20.0 MPa at these locations,significantly exceeding the stress magnitudes in well-bonded regions;(2)the phenomenon of local stress concentration driven by interfacial defects can be identified as the main basis for predicting damage location in interfacial debonding and continuous shear under axial load;(3)ensuring tight cementation at the cement-sandstone interface and minimizing interfacial voids are paramount for preventing stress-induced failure;(4)the critical Von Mises stress value of 20 MPa at the interface defect can be used as a benchmark for material selection and designed to ensure long-term integrity in oil and gas well applications subjected to similar axial loads.These findings contribute to a more accurate understanding of the failure mechanism of the cement-sandstone interface and to the precise design of material properties,thereby ensuring the long-term integrity of oil and gas well applications subjected to similar axial loads.

文摘Local control parameters such as instantaneous delay and instantaneous amplitude play an essential role in evaluating the performance and maintaining the stability of real-time hybrid simulation(RTHS).However,existing methods have limitations in obtaining this local assessment in either the time domain or frequency domain.In this study,the instantaneous frequency is introduced to determine local control parameters for actuator tracking assessment in a real-time hybrid simulation.Instantaneous properties,including amplitude,delay,frequency and phase,are then calculated based on analytic signals translated from actuator tracking signals through the Hilbert transform.Potential issues are discussed and solutions are proposed for calculation of local control parameters.Numerical simulations are first conducted for sinusoidal and chirp signals with time varying amplitude error and delay to demonstrate the potential of the proposed method.Laboratory tests also are conducted for a predefined random signal as well as the RTHS of a single degree of freedom structure with a self-centering viscous damper to experimentally verify the effectiveness of the proposed use of the instantaneous frequency.Results from the ensuing analysis clearly demonstrate that the instantaneous frequency provides great potential for local control assessment,and the proposed method enables local tracking parameters with good accuracy.

文摘Due to the restricted satellite payloads in LEO mega-constellation networks(LMCNs),remote sensing image analysis,online learning and other big data services desirably need onboard distributed processing(OBDP).In existing technologies,the efficiency of big data applications(BDAs)in distributed systems hinges on the stable-state and low-latency links between worker nodes.However,LMCNs with high-dynamic nodes and long-distance links can not provide the above conditions,which makes the performance of OBDP hard to be intuitively measured.To bridge this gap,a multidimensional simulation platform is indispensable that can simulate the network environment of LMCNs and put BDAs in it for performance testing.Using STK's APIs and parallel computing framework,we achieve real-time simulation for thousands of satellite nodes,which are mapped as application nodes through software defined network(SDN)and container technologies.We elaborate the architecture and mechanism of the simulation platform,and take the Starlink and Hadoop as realistic examples for simulations.The results indicate that LMCNs have dynamic end-to-end latency which fluctuates periodically with the constellation movement.Compared to ground data center networks(GDCNs),LMCNs deteriorate the computing and storage job throughput,which can be alleviated by the utilization of erasure codes and data flow scheduling of worker nodes.

文摘Rooftop distributed photovoltaic(DPV)systems show promise for alleviating the energy crisis resulting from summer urban cooling demands and mitigating secondary hazards associated with urban heat islands.In this study,a parametric scheme for rooftop DPVs was incorporated into the Weather,Research and Forecasting model.The period from August 12–16,2022,during a heatwave in Jiangsu Province,China,was selected as the weather background to simulate the impact of rooftop DPVs with varying power generation efficiencies on urban thermal environments and energy supply.The results indicate that(1)rooftop DPVs reduce urban air temperatures at 2 m by weakening the solar radiation reaching the surface.As solar panel efficiency improves,the cooling effects become more significant,particularly at night.Day and night air temperatures at 2 m can decrease by approximately 0.1°C–0.4°C and 0.2°C–0.7°C,respectively;(2)Installing rooftop DPVs can lower boundary layer temperatures,with pronounced cooling effects during the day(up to 0.7°C at 08:00)and night(up to 0.6°C at 20:00);(3)If all buildings are equipped with rooftop DPVs,the electricity generated could meet Jiangsu Province’s total electricity demand during heatwaves.With 30%generation efficiency and rooftop DPVs installed at 40%of buildings,the electricity produced can meet the entire electricity demand.
文摘An attempt has been made to develop a distributed software infrastructure model for onboard data fusion system simulation, which is also applied to netted radar systems, onboard distributed detection systems and advanced C3I systems. Two architectures are provided and verified: one is based on pure TCP/IP protocol and C/S model, and implemented with Winsock, the other is based on CORBA (common object request broker architecture). The performance of data fusion simulation system, i.e. reliability, flexibility and scalability, is improved and enhanced by two models. The study of them makes valuable explore on incorporating the distributed computation concepts into radar system simulation techniques.
文摘Based on MATRIXx, a universal real-time visual distributed simulation system is developed. The system can receive different input data from network or local terminal. Application models in the simulation modules can automatically get such data to be analyzed and calculated, and then produce real-time simulation control information. Meanwhile, this paper designs relevant simulation components to implement the input and output data, which can guarantee the real-time and universal of the data transmission. Result of the experimental system shows that the real-time performance of the simulation is perfect.

文摘The Carter model is used to characterize the dynamic behaviors of fracture growth and fracturing fluid leakoff.A thermo-fluid coupling temperature response forward model is built considering the fluid flow and heat transfer in wellbore,fracture and reservoir.The influences of fracturing parameters and fracture parameters on the responses of distributed temperature sensing(DTS)are analyzed,and a diagnosis method of fracture parameters is presented based on the simulated annealing algorithm.A field case study is introduced to verify the model’s reliability.Typical V-shaped characteristics can be observed from the DTS responses in the multi-cluster fracturing process,with locations corresponding to the hydraulic fractures.The V-shape depth is shallower for a higher injection rate and longer fracturing and shut-in time.Also,the V-shape is wider for a higher fracture-surface leakoff coefficient,longer fracturing time and smaller fracture width.Additionally,the cooling effect near the wellbore continues to spread into the reservoir during the shut-in period,causing the DTS temperature to decrease instead of rise.Real-time monitoring and interpretation of DTS temperature data can help understand the fracture propagation during fracturing operation,so that immediate measures can be taken to improve the fracturing performance.
文摘To investigate the reason for Mn segregation in TC2 titanium alloy bars,a multiphysics-coupled mathematical model was established using the BMPS-VAR numerical simulation software,incorporating electro-magnetic,thermal,and flow fields.Numerical simulation was performed to analyze the dynamic evolution of varying-mass electrode fragments during the vacuum arc remelting(VAR)of a∅508-mm TC2 titanium alloy in-got.The results indicate that Mn segregation caused by 15-kg electrode fragmentation during the VAR process of a TC2 titanium alloy ingot corresponds to the segregation observed in the TC2 titanium alloy bar.The numerical simulation of the VAR process provides effective result prediction and technical support for solving practical problems in smelting.

文摘To address the challenges in studying the pore formation and evolution processes,and unclear preservation mechanisms of deep to ultra-deep carbonate rocks,a high-temperature and high-pressure visualization simulation experimental device was developed for ultra-deep carbonate reservoirs.Carbonate rock samples from the Sichuan Basin and Tarim Basin were used to simulate the dissolution-precipitation process of deep to ultra-deep carbonate reservoirs in an analogous geological setting.This unit comprises four core modules:an ultra-high temperature,high pressure triaxial stress core holder module(temperature higher than 300°C,pressure higher than 150 MPa),a multi-stage continuous flow module with temperature-pressure regulation,an ultra-high temperature-pressure sapphire window cell and an in-situ high-temperature-pressure fluid property measurement module and real-time ultra-high temperature-pressure permeability detection module.The new experimental device was used for simulation experiment,the geological insights were obtained in three aspects.First,the pore-throat structure of carbonate is controlled by lithology and initial pore-throat structure,and fluid type,concentration and dissolution duration determine the degree of dissolution.The dissolution process exhibits two evolution patterns.The dissolution scale is positively correlated to the temperature and pressure,and the pore-forming peak period aligns well with the hydrocarbon generation peak period.Second,the dissolution potential of dolomite in an open flow system is greater than that of limestone,and secondary dissolved pores formed continuously are controlled by the type and concentration of acidic fluids and the initial physical properties.These pores predominantly distribute along pre-existing pore/fracture zones.Third,in a nearly closed diagenetic system,after the chemical reaction between acidic fluids and carbonate rock reaches saturation and dynamic equilibrium,the pore structure no longer changes,keeping pre-existing pores well-preserved.These findings have important guiding significance for the evaluation of pore-throat structure and development potential of deep to ultra-deep carbonate reservoirs,and the prediction of main controlling factors and distribution of high-quality carbonate reservoirs.

文摘The distribution of shear-wave velocities in the subsurface is generally used to assess the potential forseismic liquefaction and soil amplification effects and to classify seismic sites. Newly developeddistributed acoustic sensing (DAS) technology enables estimation of the shear-wave distribution as ahigh-density seismic observation system. This technology is characterized by low maintenance costs,high-resolution outputs, and real-time data transmission capabilities, albeit with the challenge ofmanaging massive data generation. Rapid and efficient interpretation of data is the key to advancingapplication of the DAS technology. In this study, field tests were carried out to record ambient noise overa short period using DAS technology, from which the surface-wave dispersion curves were extracted. Inorder to reduce the influence of directional effects on the results, an unsupervised clustering method isused to select appropriate clusters to extract the Green's function. A combination of a genetic algorithmand Monte Carlo (GA-MC) simulation is proposed to invert the subsurface velocity structure. Thestratigraphic profiles obtained by the GA-MC method are in agreement with the borehole profiles.Compared to other methods, the proposed optimization method not only improves the solution qualitybut also reduces the solution time.

文摘In recent years,frequent fire disasters have led to enormous damage in China.Effective firefighting rescues can minimize the losses caused by fires.During the rescue processes,the travel time of fire trucks can be severely affected by traffic conditions,changing the effective coverage of fire stations.However,it is still challenging to determine the effective coverage of fire stations considering dynamic traffic conditions.This paper addresses this issue by combining the traveling time calculationmodelwith the effective coverage simulationmodel.In addition,it proposes a new index of total effective coverage area(TECA)based on the time-weighted average of the effective coverage area(ECA)to evaluate the urban fire services.It also selects China as the case study to validate the feasibility of the models,a fire station(FS-JX)in Changsha.FS-JX station and its surrounding 9,117 fire risk points are selected as the fire service supply and demand points,respectively.A total of 196 simulation scenarios throughout a consecutiveweek are analyzed.Eventually,1,933,815 sets of valid sample data are obtained.The results showed that the TECA of FS-JX is 3.27 km^(2),which is far below the standard requirement of 7.00 km^(2) due to the traffic conditions.The visualization results showed that three rivers around FS-JX interrupt the continuity of its effective coverage.The proposed method can provide data support to optimize the locations of fire stations by accurately and dynamically determining the effective coverage of fire stations.

文摘The spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of the regression rate are crucial aspects of the research on Hybrid Rocket Motor(HRM). This study presents a pioneering effort in achieving a comprehensive numerical simulation of fluid dynamics and heat transfer in both the fluid and solid regions throughout the entire operation of an HRM. To accomplish this, a dynamic grid technique that incorporates fluid–solid coupling is utilized. To validate the precision of the numerical simulations, a firing test is conducted, with embedded thermocouple probes being used to measure the inner temperature of the fuel grain. The temperature variations in the solid fuel obtained from both experiment and simulations show good agreement. The maximum combustion temperature and average thrust obtained from the simulations are found to deviate from the experimental results by only 3.3% and 2.4%, respectively. Thus, it can be demonstrated that transient numerical simulations accurately capture the fluid–solid coupling characteristics and transient regression rate. The dynamic simulation results of inner flow field and solid region throughout the entire working stage reveal that the presence of vortices enhances the blending of combustion gases and improves the regression rate at both the front and rear ends of the fuel grain. In addition, oscillations of the regression rate obtained in the simulation can also be well corresponded with the corrugated surface observed in the experiment. Furthermore, the zero-dimension regression rate formula and the formula describing the axial location dependence of the regression rate are fitted from the simulation results, with the corresponding coefficients of determination(R^(2)) of 0.9765 and 0.9298, respectively.This research serves as a reference for predicting the performance of HRM with gas oxygen and polyethylene, and presents a credible way for investigating the spatiotemporal distribution of the regression rate.

文摘The objective of this study is to quantitatively evaluate Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) data with rain gauge data and further to use this TRMM data to drive a Dis- tributed Time-Variant Gain Model (DTVGM) to perform hydrological simulations in the semi-humid Weihe River catchment in China. Before the simulations, a comparison with a 10-year (2001-2010) daily rain gauge data set reveals that, at daily time step, TRMM rainfall data are better at capturing rain occurrence and mean values than rainfall extremes. On a monthly time scale, good linear relationships between TRMM and rain gauge rainfall data are found, with determination coefficients R2 varying between 0.78 and 0.89 for the individual stations. Subsequent simulation results of seven years (2001-2007) of data on daily hydro- logical processes confirm that the DTVGM when calibrated by rain gauge data performs better than when calibrated by TRMM data, but the performance of the simulation driven by TRMM data is better than that driven by gauge data on a monthly time scale. The results thus suggest that TRMM rainfall data are more suitable for monthly streamfiow simulation in the study area, and that, when the effects of recalibration and the results for water balance components are also taken into account, the TRMM 3B42-V7 product has the potential to perform well in similar basins.
文摘A model suitable for describing the mechanical response of thin elastic objects is proposed to simulate the deformation of guide wires in minimally invasive interventions. The main objective of this simulation is to provide doctors an opportunity to rehearse the surgery and select an optimal operation plan before the real surgery. In this model the guide wire is discretized with the multi-body representation and its elastic energy derivate from elastic theory is a polynomial function of the nodal displacements. The vascular structure is represented by a tetrahedron mesh extended from the triangular mesh of the artery, which can be extracted from the patient's CT image data. The model applies the energy decline process of the conjugate gradient method to the deformation simulation of the guide wire. Experimental results show that the polynomial relationship between elastic energy and nodal displacements tremendously simplifies the evaluation of the conjugate gradient method and significantly improves the model's efficiency. Compared with models depending on an explicit scheme for evaluation, the new model is not only non-conditionally stable but also more efficient. The model can be applied to the real-time simulation of guide wire in a vascular structure.

Based on combination of simulation modeling technology and embedded real-time software testing method, the process of simulation testing modeling is studied first. And then, the supporting environment of simulation testing modeling is put forward. Furthermore, an approach of embedded real-time software simulation testing modeling including modeling of cross-linked equipments of system under testing (SUT), test case, testing scheduling, and testing system service is brought forward. Finally, the formalized description and execution system of testing models are given, with which we can realize real-time, closed loop, mad automated system testing for embedded real-time software.

文摘Real-time hybrid simulation is an efficient and cost-effective dynamic testing technique for performance evaluation of structural systems subjected to earthquake loading with rate-dependent behavior. A loading assembly with multiple actuators is required to impose realistic boundary conditions on physical specimens. However, such a testing system is expected to exhibit significant dynamic coupling of the actuators and suffer from time lags that are associated with the dynamics of the servo-hydraulic system, as well as control-structure interaction (CSI). One approach to reducing experimental errors considers a multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) controller design, yielding accurate reference tracking and noise rejection. In this paper, a framework for multi-axial real-time hybrid simulation (maRTHS) testing is presented. The methodology employs a real-time feedback-feedforward controller for multiple actuators commanded in Cartesian coordinates. Kinematic transformations between actuator space and Cartesian space are derived for all six-degrees-of- freedom of the moving platform. Then, a frequency domain identification technique is used to develop an accurate MIMO transfer function of the system. Further, a Cartesian-domain model-based feedforward-feedback controller is implemented for time lag compensation and to increase the robustness of the reference tracking for given model uncertainty. The framework is implemented using the 1/5th-scale Load and Boundary Condition Box (LBCB) located at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. To demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed methodology, a single-story frame subjected to earthquake loading is tested. One of the columns in the fraane is represented physically in the laboratory as a cantilevered steel column. For real- time execution, the numerical substructure, kinematic transformations, and controllers are implemented on a digital signal processor. Results show excellent performance of the maRTHS framework when six-degrees-of-freedom are controUed at the interface between substructures.

文摘A solution scheme is proposed in this paper for an existing RTDHT system to simulate large-scale finite element (FE) numerical substructures. The analysis of the FE numerical substructure is split into response analysis and signal generation tasks, and executed in two different target computers in real-time. One target computer implements the response analysis task, wherein a large time-step is used to solve the FE substructure, and another target computer implements the signal generation task, wherein an interpolation program is used to generate control signals in a small time-step to meet the input demand of the controller. By using this strategy, the scale of the FE numerical substructure simulation may be increased significantly. The proposed scheme is initially verified by two FE numerical substructure models with 98 and 1240 degrees of freedom (DOFs). Thereafter, RTDHTs of a single frame-foundation structure are implemented where the foundation, considered as the numerical substructure, is simulated by the FE model with 1240 DOFs. Good agreements between the results of the RTDHT and those from the FE analysis in ABAQUS are obtained.

文摘A method of combining dynamic simulation with real-time control was proposed to fit the randomness and uncertainty in the high arch dam construction process. The mathematical logic model of high arch dam construction process was established. By combining dynamic construction simulation with schedule analysis, the process of construction schedule forecasting and analysis based on dynamic simulation was studied. The process of real-time schedule control was constructed and some measures for dynamic adjustment and control of construction schedule were provided. A system developed with the method is utilized in a being constructed hydroelectric project located at the Yellow River in northwest China, which can make the pouring plan of the dam in the next stage (a month, quarter or year) to guide the practical construction. The application result shows that the system provides an effective technical support for the construction and management of the dam.
