This paper proposes a distributed event-triggered control(ETC)framework to address cooperative target fencing challenges in UAV swarm. The proposed architecture eliminates the reliance on preset formation parameters while achieving multi-objective cooperative control for target fencing, network connectivity preservation, collision avoidance, and communication efficiency optimization.Firstly,a differential state observer is constructed to obtain the target's unmeasurable states.Secondly, leveraging swarm selforganization principles,a geometric-constraint-free distributed fencing controller is designed by integrating potential field methods with consensus theory. The controller dynamically adjusts inter-UAV distances via single potential function, enabling coordinated optimization of persistent network connectivity and collision-free motion during target fencing.Thirdly,a dual-threshold ETC mechanism based on velocity consensus deviation and fencing error is proposed, which can be triggered based on task features to dynamically adjust the communication frequency, significantly reduce the communication burden and exclude Zeno behavior.Theoretical analysis demonstrates the stability of closed-loop systems.Multi-scenario simulations show that the proposed method can achieve robust fencing under target maneuverability, partial UAV failures, and communication disturbances. 展开更多

This paper investigates the time-varying formation problem for general linear multi-agent systems using distributed event-triggered control strategy.Different from the previous works,to achieve the desired time-varying formation,a distributed control scheme is designed in an event-triggered way,in which for each agent the controller is triggered only at its own event times. The interaction topology among agents is assumed to be switching. The common Lyapunov function as well as Riccati inequality is applied to solve the time-varying formation problem. Moreover, the Zeno behavior of triggering time sequences can be excluded for each agent. Finally,a simulation example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results. 展开更多

To address the issue of instability or even imbalance in the orientation and attitude control of quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles(QUAVs)under random disturbances, this paper proposes a distributed antidisturbance data-driven event-triggered fusion control method, which achieves efficient fault diagnosis while suppressing random disturbances and mitigating communication conflicts within the QUAV swarm.First, the impact of random disturbances on the UAV swarm is analyzed, and a model for orientation and attitude control of QUAVs under stochastic perturbations is established, with the disturbance gain threshold determined.Second,a fault diagnosis system based on a high-gain observer is designed, constructing a fault gain criterion by integrating orientation and attitude information from QUAVs.Subsequently,a model-free dynamic linearization-based data modeling(MFDLDM)framework is developed using model-free adaptive control, which efficiently fits the nonlinear control model of the QUAV swarm while reducing temporal constraints on control data.On this basis, this paper constructs a distributed data-driven event-triggered controller based on the staggered communication mechanism, which consists of an equivalent QUAV controller and an event-triggered controller, and is able to reduce the communication conflicts while suppressing the influence of random interference. Finally,by incorporating random disturbances into the controller, comparative experiments and physical validations are conducted on the QUAV platforms, fully demonstrating the strong adaptability and robustness of the proposed distributed event-triggered fault-tolerant control system. 展开更多

In this paper,a distributed Event-Triggered(ET)collision avoidance coordinated control for Quadrotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(QUAVs)is proposed based on Virtual Tubes(VTs)with flexible boundaries in the presence of unknown external disturbances.Firstly,VTs are constructed for each QUAV,and the QUAV is restricted into the corresponding VT by the artificial potential field, which is distributed around the boundary of the VT.Thus, the collisions between QUAVs are avoided.Besides, the boundaries of the VTs are flexible by the modification signals, which are generated by the self-regulating auxiliary systems,to make the repulsive force smaller and give more buffer space for QUAVs without collision. Then,a novel ET mechanism is designed by introducing the concept of prediction to the traditional fixed threshold ET mechanism.Furthermore,a disturbance observer is proposed to deal with the adverse effects of the unknown external disturbance. On this basis,a distributed ET collision avoidance coordinated controller is proposed. Then, the proposed controller is quantized by the hysteresis uniform quantizer and then sent to the actuator only at the ET instants. The boundedness of the closed-loop signals is verified by the Lyapunov method. Finally, simulation and experimental results are performed to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed control method. 展开更多

Dear Editor,This letter concentrates on distributed event-triggered formation control problems with finite-time convergence in an arbitrarily dimensional Euclidean space.A new unified approach of finite-time event-triggered formation control is proposed by steering all agents to a sliding manifold(the affine image)to achieve general formations, like affine, rigid or translational formation. It only requires to design an extra steering law driving at least d+1 leaders from an affine image to a rigid or translational image, where d is the dimension of the space. The event-triggered function is designed in a distributed and discontinuous manner based only on local information to reduce the communication and calculation resources by aperiodic sampling. In the proposed event-triggered formation law,zeno-free behavior is ensured. 展开更多

In this paper, distributed event-triggered performance constraint control is proposed for Heterogeneous Multiagent Systems (HMASs) including quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles and unmanned ground vehicles in the presence of unknown external disturbances. To tackle the problem of different dynamic characteristics and facilitate the controller design, the virtual variable is introduced in the z axis of the nonlinear model of unmanned ground vehicles. By using this approach, a universal model is established for the HMAS. Moreover, a distributed disturbance observer is established to cope with the adverse influence of the external disturbances. Then, an Appointed-Time Prescribed Performance Function (ATPPF) is designed to restrict the tracking error in the predefined regions. On this basis, the distributed performance constraint controller is proposed for the HMAS based on the ATPPF and the distributed disturbance observer. Furthermore, the improved event-triggered mechanism is proposed with a dynamic threshold, which depends on the distance between the tracking error and the boundary of the ATPPF. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified by the comparative experiments on an HMAS. 展开更多

To solve the problem of in-flight actuator faults and parameter uncertainties for multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs),and reduce the communication and computational resource consumption of multiple UAVs,a Fraction-Order(FO)sliding-mode Fault-Tolerant Cooperative Control(FTCC)strategy is proposed for multiple UAVs based on Event-Triggered Communication Mechanism(ET-COM-M)and Event-Triggered Control Mechanism(ET-CON-M).First,by considering the limited communication bandwidth of multiple UAVs in formation,an ET-COM-M is designed to significantly reduce communication times. Then,a distributed observer is skillfully constructed to estimate the reference signals for follower UAVs.Moreover, the adaptive strategy is incorporated into the Radial Basis Function Neural Network(RBFNN)to learn the lumped unknown terms for handling bias actuator faults and parameter uncertainties.Besides, the Nussbaum method is used to deal with the loss-of-effectiveness faults. To further achieve the refined control performance against faults,FO calculus is artfully integrated into the sliding-mode control protocol with ET-CON-M.Finally,Zeno behavior is excluded by rigorous theoretical analysis and Lyapunov stability is proved to show the effectiveness of the designed FTCC strategy.Simulation results show that the designed FTCC strategy with Event-Triggered Mechanism(ETM)can guarantee the safety of multiple UAVs and simultaneously reduce the communication and control frequencies, making the developed control scheme applicable in engineering. 展开更多

Realistic faults and failures often occur probabilistically in the lane-keeping system of autonomous electric vehicles, reducing system reliability and posing significant challenges to driving safety. To enhance the system resilience, this paper proposes a novel robust fuzzy fault-tolerant control strategy that incorporates the adaptive event-trigger(AET)mechanism to realize stable, reliable, and precise lane-keeping control in the presence of multiple system uncertainties and probabilistic faults.First,to capture the uncertain and time-varying nature of tire cornering stiffness,an effective Takagi-Sugeno(T-S)fuzzy tire model is developed. Then,by employing the distribution-based probabilistic approach, two sets of unrelated random variables, random sensor and actuator faults in the control system, are modeled.Next,to improve communication efficiency and address ineluctable network-induced delays,an AET control framework with a well-designed triggering condition is established.Subsequently,a robust fuzzy output feedback fault-tolerant lane-keeping controller that satisfies the H∞per-formance is designed by using the Lyapunov-Krasovski functional method.Furthermore, the mean-square ex-ponential stability of the closed-loop system is rigorously guaranteed.Finally,real-time simulations based on Carsim/Simulink co-simulation platform under dynamic driving conditions demonstrate the feasibility and ef-fectiveness of the proposed control strategy. 展开更多

The hybrid series-parallel microgrid attracts more attention by combining the advantages of both the series-stacked voltage and parallel-expanded capacity.Low-voltage distributed generations(DGs)are connected in series to form the intra-string,and then multiple strings are interconnected in parallel. For the existing control strategies, both intra-string and inter-string depend on the centralized or distributed control with high communication reliance. It has limited scalability and redundancy under abnormal conditions.Alternatively,in this study,an intra-string distributed and inter-string decentralized control framework is proposed.Within the string,a few DGs close to the AC bus are the leaders to get the string power information and the rest DGs are the followers to acquire the synchronization information through the droop-based distributed consistency.Specifically, the output of the entire string has the active power−angular frequency(ω-P)droop characteristic, and the decentralized control among strings can be autonomously guaranteed. Moreover, the secondary control is designed to realize multi-mode objectives, including on/off-grid mode switching,grid-connected power interactive management, and off-grid voltage quality regulation. As a result, the proposed method has the ability of plug-and-play capabilities,single-point failure redundancy, and seamless mode-switching.Experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed practical solution. 展开更多

In this paper,a security defense issue is investigated for networked control systems susceptible to stochastic denial of service(DoS) attacks by using the sliding mode control method. To utilize network communication resources more effectively,a novel adaptive event-triggered(AET) mechanism is introduced, whose triggering coefficient can be adaptively adjusted according to the evolution trend of system states.Differing from existing event-triggered(ET) mechanisms, the proposed one demonstrates exceptional relevance and flexibility. It is closely related to attack probability, and its triggering coefficient dynamically adjusts depending on the presence or absence of an attack. To leverage attacker information more effectively,a switching-like sliding mode security controller is designed, which can autonomously select different controller gains based on the sliding function representing the attack situation.Sufficient conditions for the existence of the switching-like sliding mode secure controller are presented to ensure the stochastic stability of the system and the reachability of the sliding surface.Compared with existing time-invariant control strategies within the triggered interval, more resilient defense performance can be expected since the correlation with attack information is established in both the proposed AET scheme and the control strategy. Finally,a simulation example is conducted to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed security control method. 展开更多

This article presents a distributed periodic eventtriggered(PET)optimal control scheme to achieve generation cost minimization and average bus voltage regulation in DC microgrids. In order to accommodate the generation constraints of the distributed generators(DGs),a virtual incremental cost is firstly designed, based on which an optimality condition is derived to facilitate the control design. To meet the discrete-time(DT)nature of modern control systems, the optimal controller is directly developed in the DT domain.Afterward,to reduce the communication requirement among the controllers,a distributed event-triggered mechanism is introduced for the DT optimal controller. The event-triggered condition is detected periodically and therefore naturally avoids the Zeno phenomenon. The closed-loop system stability is proved by the Lyapunov synthesis for switched systems. The generation cost minimization and average bus voltage regulation are obtained at the equilibrium point.Finally,switch-level microgrid simulations validate the performance of the proposed optimal controller. 展开更多

The present paper deals with data-driven event-triggered control of a class of unknown discrete-time interconnected systems(a.k.a.network systems). To this end,we start by putting forth a novel distributed event-triggering transmission strategy based on periodic sampling, under which a model-based stability criterion for the closed-loop network system is derived,by leveraging a discrete-time looped-functional approach.Marrying the model-based criterion with a data-driven system representation recently developed in the literature,a purely data-driven stability criterion expressed in the form of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)is established.Meanwhile, the data-driven stability criterion suggests a means for co-designing the event-triggering coefficient matrix and the feedback control gain matrix using only some offline collected state-input data. Finally, numerical results corroborate the efficacy of the proposed distributed data-driven event-triggered network system(ETS)in cutting off data transmissions and the co-design procedure. 展开更多

In this paper, the event-triggered consensus control problem for nonlinear uncertain multi-agent systems subject to unknown parameters and external disturbances is considered. The dynamics of subsystems are second-order with similar structures, and the nodes are connected by undirected graphs. The event-triggered mechanisms are not only utilized in the transmission of information from the controllers to the actuators, and from the sensors to the controllers within each agent, but also in the communication between agents.Based on the adaptive backstepping method, extra estimators are introduced to handle the unknown parameters, and the measurement errors that occur during the event-triggered communication are well handled by designing compensating terms for the control signals. The presented distributed event-triggered adaptive control laws can guarantee the boundness of the consensus tracking errors and the Zeno behavior is avoided.Meanwhile, the update frequency of the controllers and the load of communication burden are vastly reduced. The obtained control protocol is further applied to a multi-input multi-output second-order nonlinear multi-agent system, and the simulation results show the effectiveness and advantages of our proposed method. 展开更多

For islanded microgrids(MGs),distributed control is regarded as a preferred alternative to centralized control for the frequency restoration of MGs.However, distributed control with successive communication restricts the efficiency and resilience of the control system. To address this issue, this paper proposes a distributed event-triggered control strategy for the frequency secondary control in islanded MGs.The proposed event-triggered control is Zeno behavior free and enables each DG to update and propagate its state to neighboring DGs only when a specific“event”occurs, which significantly reduces the communication burden.Compared with the existing event-triggered control,a trigger condition checking period of the proposed event-triggered control is provided to reduce the computation burden when checking the trigger condition.Furthermore, using the aperiodicity and intermittent properties of the communication,a simple detection principle is proposed to detect and isolate the compromised communication links in a timely and economic fashion, which improves the resilience of the system against FDI attacks. Finally, the control effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is validated by the simulation results of the tests on an MG with 4 DGs. 展开更多
