Distinguishable multi-substance detection based on three-channel NIR fluorescent probe in physiology and pathology of living cells and zebrafish

Mitochondria is the main organelle for the production of reactive sulfur species(RSS), such as homocysteine(Hcy), cysteine(Cys), glutathione(GSH) and sulfur dioxide(SO_(2)). These compounds participate in a large number of physiological processes and play an extremely important role in maintaining the balance of life systems. Abnormal concentration and metabolism are closely related to many diseases. Due to their similarities in chemical properties, it is challenging to develop a single fluorescent probe to distinguish them simultaneously. Here, we synthesized the probe PI-CO–NBD with three fluorophores, NBD-Cl and benzopyranate as the reaction sites of GSH/Cys/Hcy and SO_(2), respectively. Three biothiols all could cleavage ether bond to release benzopyrylium and coumarin moiety, which emitted red and blue fluorescence,but Cys/Hcy also could do intramolecular rearrangement after nucleophilic substitution, resulting in yellow fluorescence. Thus the probe can distinguish Cys/Hcy and GSH. Subsequently, only SO_(2)could quench red fluorescence by adding C=C of benzopyrylium. The probe also could localize well in mitochondria by oxonium ion for all kinds of cells. The probe not only could detect above sulfur-containing active substances of intracellular and extracellular but also monitor the level of them under oxidative stress and apoptosis process in living cells and zebrafish. 展开更多

Quantum key distribution provides an unconditional secure key sharing method in theory,but the imperfect factors of practical devices will bring security vulnerabilities.In this paper,we characterize the imperfections of the sender and analyze the possible attack strategies of Eve.Firstly,we present a quantized model for distinguishability of decoy states caused by intensity modulation.Besides,considering that Eve may control the preparation of states through hidden variables,we evaluate the security of preparation in practical quantum key distribution(QKD)scheme based on the weak-randomness model.Finally,we analyze the influence of the distinguishability of decoy state to secure key rate,for Eve may conduct the beam splitting attack and control the channel attenuation of different parts.Through the simulation,it can be seen that the secure key rate is sensitive to the distinguishability of decoy state and weak randomness,especially when Eve can control the channel attenuation. 展开更多

A kinetic moment-closed model(KMCM), derived from the Vlasov–Fokker–Planck(VFP) equation with spherically symmetric velocity space, is introduced as a general relaxation model for homogeneous plasmas. The closed form of this model is presented by introducing a set of new functions called R function and R integration. This nonlinear model, based on the finitely distinguishable independent features(FDIF) hypothesis, enables the capture of the nature of the equilibrium state and non-equilibrium state. From this relaxation model, a general temperature relaxation model is derived when the velocity space exhibits spherical symmetry, and the general characteristic frequency of temperature relaxation is presented. 展开更多

We derive the transport equations from the Vlasov–Fokker–Planck equation when the velocity space is spherically symmetric.The Shkarofsky's form of Fokker–Planck–Rosenbluth collision operator is employed in the Vlasov–Fokker–Planck equation.A closed-form relaxation model for homogeneous plasmas could be presented in terms of Gauss hypergeometric2F1functions.This has been accomplished based on the Maxwellian mixture model.Furthermore,we demonstrate that classic models such as two-temperature thermal equilibrium model and thermodynamic equilibrium model are special cases of our relaxation model and the zeroth-order Braginskii heat transfer model can also be derived.The present relaxation model is a nonequilibrium model based on the hypothesis that the plasmas system possesses finitely distinguishable independent features,without relying on the conventional near-equilibrium assumption. 展开更多

Differential-Linear Attacks on Ballet Block Cipher

Ballet is one of the finalists of the block cipher project in the 2019 National Cryptographic Algorithm Design Competition.This study aims to conduct a comprehensive security evaluation of Ballet from the perspective of differential-linear(DL)cryptanalysis.Specifically,we present an automated search for the DL distinguishers of Ballet based on MILP/MIQCP.For the versions with block sizes of 128 and 256 bits,we obtain 16 and 22 rounds distinguishers with estimated correlations of 2^(-59.89)and 2^(-116.80),both of which are the publicly longest distinguishers.In addition,this study incorporates the complexity information of key-recovery attacks into the automated model,to search for the optimal key-recovery attack structures based on DL distinguishers.As a result,we mount the key-recovery attacks on 16-round Ballet-128/128,17-round Ballet-128/256,and 21-round Ballet-256/256.The data/time complexities for these attacks are 2^(108.36)/2^(120.36),2^(115.90)/2^(192),and 2^(227.62)/2^(240.67),respectively. 展开更多

The overuse of surfactants has made them well-known environmental pollutants.So far,it is still a challenge to simultaneously distinguish cationic,anionic,zwitterionic,nonionic surfactants and surfactants with similar structures based on traditional analytical techniques.We developed a high-throughput method for distinguishing various surfactants based on the adaptive emission profile as fingerprints(AEPF).The fluorescence response of the sensor was based on the interaction between surfactants and 1,3-diacetylpyrene(o-DAP)probe.The interaction affected the reversible conversion of free molecules and two aggregates in the solution,thereby changing the relative abundance and the fluorescence intensity ratio of two aggregates emitting different fluorescence.The o-DAP sensor can distinguish four types of surfactants(16 surfactants),especially surfactants of the same type with similar structures.The o-DAP sensor sensitively determined the critical micelle concentration(CMC)of 16 surfactants based on the interaction between o-DAP and surfactants.Additionally,the o-DAP sensor can detect and distinguish artificial vesicles made from different surfactants. 展开更多

In our recent investigations of diatom diversity,we studied three species,namely,Skeletonema costatum,Skeletonema subsalsum,and Skeletonema potamos.Although they have been found frequently in Changjiang(Yangtze)River Basin,their morphological and molecular identification is difficult in taxonomy.Therefore,to integrate morphological and molecular biological approaches,we compared systematically their morphological characters and performed phylogenetic analysis.Twelve strains of Skeletonema were collected and isolated from Shanghai and Jiangsu,China,and their morphological characteristics were examined by light microscopy(LM)and the scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Based on morphological comparison,we determined that S.potamos is easy to distinguish from the other two species.The heavily silicified areolae,undulated or cleft distal ends of terminal fultoportula processes(TFPPs),absence of basal pores of fultoportula processes(FPPs),the rootlike protrusions of FPPs,and no interlocking connection are the stable characteristics that can be used to identify S.potamos.However,there are only two features that can distinguish S.costatum from S.subsalsum,namely the location of terminal rimoportulae(TRPs)and the distal shape of TFPPs.In addition,we amplified and sequenced nine common genetic markers from the strains,from which 101 sequences were obtained,constructed phylogenetic trees based on the nine genes and evaluated that seven genes can be used to identify S.potamos,and revealed that S.subsalsum is the closest known relative of S.costatum,and only ATP synthetase beta-subunit gene(atp B)is able to distinguish them from each other,which strongly support that it is an effective molecular marker for Skeletonema.This work provided a theoretical basis for the taxonomic study of Skeletonema. 展开更多
