Spatial-temporal Characteristics and Factors Influencing Commuting Activities of Middle-class Residents in Guangzhou City, China 被引量:8

The middle class in metropolitan Chinese cities has become an important social group. With the rapid development of urbanization and constant advancement of suburbanization, the middle class has increasingly come to influence city traffic. Research into middle-class commuting activities thus has practical significance for improving traffic congestion and reducing the commuting burden in metropolitan cities. Based on a dataset formed by 816 completed surveys, this paper analyzes the commuting mode, time and distance of middle-class residents in Guangzhou City using the descriptive statistical method. The results indicate that private cars are the main commuting mode, followed by public transport. Meanwhile, middle-class residents mainly undertake medium-short time and medium-short distance commuting. The study subsequently uses multilevel logistic regression and multiple linear regression models to analyze the factors that influence commuting mode choice, time and distance. The gender, age, number of family cars, housing source and jobs-housing balance are the most important factors influencing commuting mode choice; housing, population density, jobs-housing balance and commuting mode significantly affect commuting time; and transport accessibility, jobs-housing balance and commuting mode are the notable factors affecting commuting distance. Finally, this paper analyzes what is affecting the commuting activities of middle-class residents and determines the differences in commuting activity characteristics and influence factors between middle-class and ordinary residents. Policy suggestions to improve urban planning and urban management are also proposed. 展开更多

DEF-based energy consumption balancing optimization for LEO satellite networks

In low Earth orbit(LEO)satellite networks,on-board energy resources of each satellite are extremely limited.And with the increase of the node number and the traffic transmis-sion pressure,the energy consumption in the networks presents uneven distribution.To achieve energy balance in networks,an energy consumption balancing optimization algorithm of LEO networks based on distance energy factor(DEF)is proposed.The DEF is defined as the function of the inter-satellite link dis-tance and the cumulative network energy consumption ratio.According to the minimum sum of DEF on inter-satellite links,an energy consumption balancing algorithm based on DEF is pro-posed,which can realize dynamic traffic transmission optimiza-tion of multiple traffic services.It can effectively reduce the energy consumption pressure of core nodes with high energy consumption in the network,make full use of idle nodes with low energy consumption,and optimize the energy consumption dis-tribution of the whole network according to the continuous itera-tions of each traffic service flow.Simulation results show that,compared with the traditional shortest path algorithm,the pro-posed method can improve the balancing performance of nodes by 75%under certain traffic pressure,and realize the optimiza-tion of energy consumption balancing of the whole network. 展开更多

Silicone material extrusion(MEX)is widely used for processing liquids and pastes.Owing to the uneven linewidth and elastic extrusion deformation caused by material accumulation,products may exhibit geometric errors and performance defects,leading to a decline in product quality and affecting its service life.This study proposes a process parameter optimization method that considers the mechanical properties of printed specimens and production costs.To improve the quality of silicone printing samples and reduce production costs,three machine learning models,kernel extreme learning machine(KELM),support vector regression(SVR),and random forest(RF),were developed to predict these three factors.Training data were obtained through a complete factorial experiment.A new dataset is obtained using the Euclidean distance method,which assigns the elimination factor.It is trained with Bayesian optimization algorithms for parameter optimization,the new dataset is input into the improved double Gaussian extreme learning machine,and finally obtains the improved KELM model.The results showed improved prediction accuracy over SVR and RF.Furthermore,a multi-objective optimization framework was proposed by combining genetic algorithm technology with the improved KELM model.The effectiveness and reasonableness of the model algorithm were verified by comparing the optimized results with the experimental results. 展开更多

We use the directional slacks-based measure of efficiency and inverse distance weighting method to analyze the spatial pattern evolution of the industrial green total factor productivity of 108 cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt in 2003–2013.Results show that both the subprime mortgage crisis and ‘the new normal' had significant negative effects on productivity growth,leading to the different spatial patterns between 2003–2008 and 2009–2013.Before 2008,green poles had gathered around some capital cities and formed a tripartite pattern,which was a typical core-periphery pattern.Due to a combination of the polarization and the diffusion effects,capital cities became the growth poles and ‘core' regions,while surrounding areas became the ‘periphery'.This was mainly caused by the innate advantage of capital cities and ‘the rise of central China' strategy.After 2008,the tripartite pattern changed to a multi-poles pattern where green poles continuously and densely spread in the midstream and downstream areas.This is due to the regional difference in the leading effect of green poles.The leading effect of green poles in midstream and downstream areas has changed from polarization to diffusion,while the polarization effect still leads in the upstream area. 展开更多
