Based on the helix rotating screen and the digital micro-mirror device (DMD), the former proto of volumetric-swept display system is improved. The 3-D display system adopting a helix rotating screen to construct an imaging space meliorate the defects, such as the smaller image space, the fewer voxels and the severer voxel overlap dead zone caused by planar rotating screen. DMD with spatial light modular (SLM) technology increases the transmission bandwidth of 3-D data in the voxel activation subsystem and activate multi-voxel once time. The volumetric-swept system based on helix rotating screen and DMD is developed. The experimental results show that the image space, the vision dead zone, the voxels on slice, and the voxel activation capacity of the designed proto are superior to the plane rotating screen system. 展开更多

This paper presents the development of numerical prediction products(NPP) correction and display system(NPPCDS) for rapid and effective post-processing and displaying of the T213 NPP(numerical prediction products of the medium range numerical weather prediction spectral model T213L31) through instant correction method. The NPPCDS consists of two modules: an automatic correction module and a graphical display module. The automatic correction module automatically corrects the T213 NPP at regularly scheduled time intervals, while the graphical display module interacts with users to display the T213 NPP and its correction results. The system helps forecasters extract the most relevant information at a quick glance without extensive post-processing. It is simple, easy to use, and computationally efficient, and has been running stably at Huludao Meteorological Bureau in Liaoning Province of China for the past three years. Because of its low computational costs, it is particularly useful for meteorological departments that lack advanced computing capacity and still need to make short-range weather forecasting. 展开更多

To model a true three-dimensional(3D)display system,we introduced the method of voxel molding to obtain the stereoscopic imaging space of the system.For the distribution of each voxel,we proposed a four-dimensional(4D)Givone–Roessor(GR)model for state-space representation—that is,we established a local state-space model with the 3D position and one-dimensional time coordi-nates to describe the system.First,we extended the original elementary operation approach to a 4D condition and proposed the implementation steps of the realiza-tion matrix of the 4D GR model.Then,we described the working process of a true 3D display system,analyzed its real-time performance,introduced the fixed-point quantization model to simplify the system matrix,and derived the conditions for the global asymptotic stability of the system after quantization.Finally,we provided an example to prove the true 3D display system’s feasibility by simulation.The GR-model-representation method and its implementation steps proposed in this paper simplified the system’s mathematical expression and facilitated the microcon-troller software implementation.Real-time and stability analyses can be used widely to analyze and design true 3D display systems. 展开更多

Construction of a Multipurpose M13KE Phage Display System

In this study, a multipurpose M13KE phage display vector was constructed from wild-type M13KE phage for long peptide or protein display libraries without helper phage to expand the scope of targeted high-throughput screening. Based on the relationship between the structure and function of minor coat protein of wild-type MI3KE (wt-plII), a truncated gene III (tglll) encoding minor coat protein from M13KE phage was cloned. A fusion gene fragment harboring a hw/tac promoter, signal peptide and C-terminal region sequence of gill was assembled with SOEing-PCR (splice-overlapping-extension polymerase chain reaction) method and inserted into M13KE vector. SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis with anti-M13 pIII moneclonal antibody were employed to detect the expression of re- combinant protein, c-Myc and HA tag sequences were fused into the recombinant protein. The results showed that tglll was inserted into an unessential region of M13KE. According to the results of SDS-PAGE and Western blot with anti-M13 pIII antibody, pIII was expressed by wt-gIII and tgIII, glII harboring two tags ex- pressed both c-Myc and HA peptides using SDS-PAGE and Western blot with the corresponding monoclonal antibodies. In this study, a multipurpose M13KE phage display system was successfully constructed, which could express both short and long peptide libraries without helper phage. In future, the obtained M13KE phage display system may be used for targeted high-throughput screening of long peptide libraries without helper phage. 展开更多

However, it is hard to specially purify the viral receptors... Rotavirus(RV) is a major foodborne pathogen. For RV prevention and control, it is a key to uncover the interaction mechanism between virus and its receptors. However, it is hard to specially purify the viral receptors, including histo-blood group antigens(HBGAs). Previously, the protruding domain protein(P protein) of human norovirus(genotype Ⅱ.4) was displayed on the surface of Escherichia coli, and it specifically recognized and captured the viral ligands. In order to further verify the feasibility of the system, P protein was replaced by VP8* of RV(G9 P[8]) in this study. In the system, VP8*could be correctly released by thrombin treatment with antigenicity retaining, which was confirmed by Western blot and Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays. Type A HBGAs from porcine gastric mucin(PGM) were recognized and captured by this system. From saliva mixture, the captured viral receptor bound with displayed VP8* was confirmed positive with monoclonal antibody against type A HBGAs. It indicated that the target ligands could be easily separated from the complex matrix. These results demonstrate that the bacterial surface display system will be an effective platform to explore viral receptors/ligands from cell lines or food matrix. 展开更多

In this paper, a scalable hardware and software architecture for tiled display systems (a.k.a. videowalls), which can be implemented by using low-cost devices, together with a dynamic web-based management and configuration service are proposed. It has been designed to support both stored and live broadcast/broadband content, in mosaic or warp distributions. The displays and devices can be dynamically configured via web in different ways: the displays can create a single display of a larger size;or they can be configured in a customized way in order to playout different media contents in different display combinations. As display renderers, low-cost devices are proposed as the main hardware element to obtain affordable videowall systems. As a proof of concept, two prototypes have been implemented, including an accurate synchronization mechanism based on a Master/Slave control scheme and aggressive and smooth playout adjustment techniques. To evidence the good performance of the prototypes and configuration service, both objective and subjective evaluations have been conducted regarding synchronization accuracy and usability. On the one hand, the mean values of the asynchronies between the video playout processes in each display are kept below 25ms (i.e., frame accuracy). On the other hand, the obtained usability score in the System Usability Scale (SUS) test has been 88.65, which is considered as excellent. 展开更多

Since this application is dependent on the performance and the simplicity of the available display technology, it becomes very useful to improve the display technique in order to become fast, simple, and attractive by being combined with computer graphical effects. In order to achieve a clear and steady swept-volume display,the method of swept-volume display based on cylindrical space projection was presented. One projector generated the image volume in π× 70 mm × 70 mm × 150 mm space. Experimentally,the resolution of images was 800 pixel × 600 pixel × 360 pixel,which resulted in almost 345 million voxels. In order to achieve space voxels with uniform brightness, curved reflectors were also designed. In addition,the match conditions between triangles and the scanning planes in the volume space were classified and a sweptvolume graphics engine based on embedded platform was designed.The image rendering the hardware foundation for three-dimensional( 3D) dynamic images generation was achieved. Demonstrated in the experiments,light source utilization of the second-generation system based on curved mirror is about three times brighter than the firstgeneration 3D minitor based on flat mirror,and this system is able to display color,clear and well-proportioned 3D images in brighter room light. 展开更多

The advent of artificial intelligence(AI)has propelled augmented reality(AR)display technology to a pivotal juncture,positioning it as a contender for the next generation of mobile intelligent terminals.However,the pursuit of advanced AR displays,particularly those capable of delivering immersive 3D experiences,is significantly hindered by the performance limitations of current hardware and the complexity of system integration.In this study,we present an innovative multi-focal plane AR display system that integrates a non-orthogonal polarization-multiplexing metasurface,freeform optical elements,and an OLED display screen.All optical elements are integrated into a single solid-state architecture,based on a joint optimization design approach of ray tracing and diffraction theory.The multi-focal plane AR visual effect is realized by the compact and multiplexing metasurface,which performs distinct phase functions across diverse polarization channels.Meanwhile,freeform surfaces offer ample design flexibility for the collaborative optimization of multi-focal plane imaging and the see-through systems.Followed by a mechanical design and prototype assembly,we demonstrate the system's capabilities in real-time and multi-focal plane display.The digital images at all virtual image distances seamlessly integrate with the real environment,fully exhibiting the system's high parallelism and real-time interactivity.With the innovative design concept and joint design method,we believe that our work will spur more innovative and compact intelligent solutions for AR displays and inject new vitality into hybrid optical systems. 展开更多

Neutralizing antibodies are essential tools in antiviral therapy and epidemic preparedness,capable of directlyinhibiting viral entry and limiting disease progression.However,traditional antibody discovery strategies—suchas animal immunization or B cell isolation from infected individuals—are often hindered by biosafety concerns,lengthy development timelines,and limited adaptability during outbreaks.In the present study,we aimed toestablish a robust and rapid in vitro platform for the efficient isolation of neutralizing antibodies targetingconserved viral epitopes.We developed an epitope-guided negative screening strategy that integrates phagedisplay technology with rational antigen mutagenesis to exclude antibodies against variable regions whileenriching for those that recognize functionally constrained epitopes.When applied to the receptor-binding domainof severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2,this method enabled the identification of six neutralizingantibodies(one IgG and five nanobodies)exhibiting broad-spectrum neutralizing activity across multiple viralvariants.Notably,antibodies recognizing distinct epitopes demonstrated significant synergistic neutralizationwhen used in combination(P<0.05).This screening approach facilitates the rapid discovery of potent andmutation-resistant antibodies and holds promise for application to other emerging pathogens.Our findingsunderscore the potential of epitope-guided,in vitro platforms in expediting therapeutic antibody developmentunder conditions of high biosafety requirements. 展开更多

Holographic 3D display technology,widely considered the ultimate solution for real 3D display,has broad applications in fields including advertisement,industrial manufacturing and military.However,it is difficult to simultaneously realize color holographic 3D display with wide viewing angle and high brightness required for an immersive visual experience.Here,a novel holographic 3D display system based on a customized achromatic liquid crystal grating and a phase-only spatial light modulator is proposed.Thanks to the secondary diffraction performed by the achromatic liquid crystal grating,nine secondary diffraction images of red,green and blue channels overlap in space in time sequence.Additionally,a high brightness hologram encoding method is developed,which introduces a frequency loss function with dynamic weights to ensure that differences of all frequency components in the frequency domain can be learned.The proposed method dramatically enhances light energy utilization by a factor of five,resulting in significantly brighter reconstructed images while substantially attenuating background noise in non-target regions.This groundbreaking system,achieving a remarkable~65°wide viewing angle with good image quality and high brightness,represents a significant advancement in holographic technology,offering a comprehensive solution for wide-viewing-angle,high-brightness,color 3D displays with potential applications across diverse technological domains. 展开更多

Lightweight holographic near-eye display system with self-charging capability using solar energy

The near-eye display feature in emerging spatial computing systems produces a distinctive visual effect of mixing virtual and real worlds.However,its application for all-day wear is greatly limited by the bulky structure,energy expenditure,and continuous battery heating.Here,we propose a lightweight holographic near-eye display system that takes advantage of solar energy for self-charging.To guarantee the collection of solar energy and near-eye display without crosstalk,we implement holographic optical elements(HOEs)to diffract sunlight and signal light into a common waveguide.Then,small-area solar cells convert the collected solar energy and power the system.Compact power supply components replace heavy batteries,thus contributing to the lightweight design.The simple acquisition and management of solar energy provide the system with sustainable self-charging capability.We believe that the lightweight design and continuous energy input solution will significantly promote the popularity of near-eye display in our daily lives. 展开更多

Head-up displays(HUDs)are emerging as key components of intelligent vehicles,requiring wide-depth,large-area,and high-efficiency dynamic imaging,which remains difficult to realize with traditional refractive optics.Computer-generated holography(CGH)with diffraction optics offers a promising solution to these technical demands.However,CGH optimization based on the fast Fourier transform(FFT)faces limitations such as zero-padding redundancy,coupled sampling intervals,and incompatible near-and farfield propagation models.Here,we report a holography-based multiplane HUD using a matrix multiplication(MM)-assisted diffraction algorithm that restructures the Fresnel integral into two sequential matrix operations,thus eliminating zero-padding and enabling fully decoupled sampling between object and image planes.Compared with FFT-based angular spectrum methods,the MM approach significantly improves computational speed and memory efficiency for hologram design,which is validated by demonstrating dual-plane holography with a size ratio exceeding 100:1 and unified reconstruction across Fresnel and Fraunhofer regimes within a single computation.A prototype HUD system is demonstrated successfully to exhibit multiple-plane holographic virtual images that can be mixed with real-world objects at three independent planes.The technique might be one of the potential candidates for next-generation intelligent vehicle displays. 展开更多

White Cyphochilus insulanus beetles,exhibiting both environmental camouflage display and radiative cooling functions,serve as a good prototype for biomimetic fabrication.As inspired,this work presents a femtosecond(fs)laser-based biomimetic fabrication strategy that takes full use of the synthesized radiative cooling nanomaterials for a groundbreaking stimuli-responsive infrared(IR)impressionistic camouflage display.The proposed technique is capable of readily transforming various substrates(quartz glass and metals including Ti,Al,Zr,and W)into self-assembled porous networks(aerogels)consisting of oxygen-vacancy-rich oxide nanoparticles.Surprisingly,the emissions of all as-prepared porous particle-networks in the radiative-cooling long-wavelength infrared(LWIR)band are above 95%,with the SiO_(2) aerogels reaching a maximum of 99.6%.Benefiting from the far-from-equilibrium thermodynamic kinetics,metastable phases of anatase TiO_(2),tetragonal zirconia(t-ZrO_(2)),and monoclinic WO_(3)(Pc)are synthesizable,opening up opportunities for exploring their optical applications.Taking the low-temperature metastable phase WO_(3)(Pc)as representative for systematic studies,it is found that(1)the ratio WO_(3)(Pc)phase to that of room-temperature phase of WO_(3)(P2_(1)/n)can be tailored by modulation of processing parameters;(2)laser synthesized aerogels with hybrid phases of WO_(3)(Pc)and WO_(3)(P2_(1)/n)have a brighter visible whiteness,higher visible/nearinfrared(NIR)spectral selectivity than the natural prototype of white Cyphochilus insulanus beetles but with comparable LWIR emittance.White WO_(3) aerogel in situ deposited during flexibly fs laser artistic patterning can blur the painting features due to its radiative cooling effect,allowing a colorful impressionistic IR display in the heating mode.What's more,invisible painting features concealed by the white deposited WO_(3) aerogel are clearly/faintly distinguishable by introducing external stimuli of a human hand and sample heating,respectively,catalyzing progress in optical encryption and selectively stimuli-responsive decryption display in the infrared band. 展开更多

This paper describes a virtual environment, which can present dynamic force transformation during the control of objects. A 5-DOF haptic interface with the capability to generate kinesthetic effect is combined. In this system, the operator manipulates an object in a virtual environment by using the 5-DOF master arm. When contacting with the virtual object, the contact force can be calculated and shown in the graphic interface. The contact response and deformation of the virtual object, which are usually called haptic rendering, also can be performed. The study supplies an approach to improve the operator’s immersion and can be used in many tele-robot control fields. 展开更多
