Discourse markers(DMs)in many languages have been investigated from various theoretical perspectives and within diverse methodological paradigms for decades.Studies within the field of DMs are accelerating rapidly;how...Discourse markers(DMs)in many languages have been investigated from various theoretical perspectives and within diverse methodological paradigms for decades.Studies within the field of DMs are accelerating rapidly;however,few state-of-the-art reviews have been conducted to systematically inform scholars of the current landscape of DM research.This investigation conducted a comprehensive review of 2,183 studies from 2009 to 2022,leveraging CiteSpace for bibliometric analysis.The study aims to illuminate emerging trends and focal areas within DM research and lay the groundwork for further interdisciplinary exploration and collaboration in this area.The analysis reveals a growing interest in DM studies,identifies leading contributors,including countries,universities,and scholars,highlights the most cited journals and references shaping the field,and delineates prevalent research themes and topics,as well as methodological approaches employed.These findings indicate that DM research has evolved from a linguistic inquiry into an interdisciplinary domain employing varied methodologies such as qualitative and/or quantitative,experimental,and synchronic and/or diachronic.This study can provide important implications for future research in terms of the pragmatic turn,interdisciplinary nature,expansion of data from English to various other languages,and diversified methodologies.展开更多
Nominalization,as the main means of reaching grammatical metaphor,is one of the distinctive features of written corpora and plays an important role in the discourse construction of news discourse.Based on the theory o...Nominalization,as the main means of reaching grammatical metaphor,is one of the distinctive features of written corpora and plays an important role in the discourse construction of news discourse.Based on the theory of grammatical metaphor,this article discusses the phenomenon of nominalization and its translation strategies in news discourse by analyzing translation examples.It is found that nominalization structure can effectively enhance the informativeness and objectivity of news discourse.When translating from Chinese to English,the translator should take into full consideration of the different characteristics of the two languages,and convert the predicates,subject-predicate structures,verb-object structures and clauses into nominalization structures.Through this translation strategy,the translation will be more in line with the English language characteristics and usage habits,and can accurately convey the information of the original text,finally realizing the effective translation of the language.展开更多

The current international dissemination of China’s human rights discourse predominantly adopts a“sender-oriented”model,emphasizing the output of human rights discourse by transmitters while overlooking strategy adj...The current international dissemination of China’s human rights discourse predominantly adopts a“sender-oriented”model,emphasizing the output of human rights discourse by transmitters while overlooking strategy adjustments based on audience feedback.To some extent,the current approach has resulted in characteristics such as strong practical implementation but weak discourse,limited theoretical foundation,and insufficient recognition in China’s international human rights communication.Consequently,while China has achieved remarkable progress in its human rights endeavors,human rights issues remain a critical area of stigmatization by some Western countries.An“effect-oriented”mechanism for the international dissemination of China’s human rights discourse,therefore,aims to address this challenge by re-centering the audience as active participants in the communication process.By emphasizing the dual nature of human rights’international communication,this approach leverages the reflexive monitoring of initial transmitters throughout the dissemination process to finally construct a dynamic human rights discourse framework responsive to different time and space contexts.This mechanism directly confronts the diverse backgrounds of global audiences and the resulting varied interpretations of China’s human rights discourse.It advocates for dynamic evaluation of global dissemination outcomes based on audience feedback and the timely adaptation of communication strategies according to context.By doing so,it seeks to effectively advance China’s human rights communication efforts and enhance dissemination efficiency on the global scale.展开更多
