In directed diffusion, flooding is used for dissemination of interest and exploratory data, which will bring broadcast storm resulting in substantial energy consumption of networks. A grid-based directed diffusion is presented to improve the energy efficiency of directed diffusion. Virtual geographic grid clusters are constructed by self-organization of nodes using geographic location information. The flooding of interest and exploratory data of original directed diffusion is limited in cluster head nodes. The simulation results and testbed experiments show that the method effectively reduces the network energy consumption. This gain is not achieved at the cost of either delivery ratio or the delay. Importantly, the decreased load also leads to a better delivery ratio and lower delay.展开更多

In this paper, a complex network approach is adopted to construct a directed weighted hazard network(DWHN) to analyze topological features and evolution of accidents in the subway construction. The nodes are hazards and accidents, the edges are multiple relationships of these nodes and the weight of edges are occurrence times of repetitive relationships. The results indicate that the DWHN possesses the property of small-world with small average path length and large clustering coefficient, indicating that hazards have better connectivity and will spread widely and quickly in the network. Moreover, the DWHN has the property of scale-free network for the cumulative degree distribution follows a power-law distribution. It makes DWHN more vulnerable to target attacks. Controlling key nodes with higher degree, strength and betweenness centrality will destroy the connectivity of DWHN and mitigate the spreading of accidents in the network. This study is helpful for discovering inner relationships and evolutionary features of hazards and accidents in the subway construction.展开更多

Issues such as learning speed, stability, and weight convergence remain as areas of research and comparison of many training algorithms. The application of neural networks to control interior permanent magnet synchronous motor using direct torque control (DTC) is discussed. A neural network is used to emulate the state selector of the DTC. The neural networks used are the back-propagation and radial basis function. To reduce the training patterns and increase the execution speed of the training process, the inputs of switching table are converted to digital signals, i.e., one bit represent the flux error, one bit the torque error, and three bits the region of stator flux. Computer simulations of the motor and neural-network system using the two approaches are presented and compared. Discussions about the back-propagation and radial basis function as the most promising training techniques are presented, giving its advantages and disadvantages. The system using back-propagation and radial basis function networks controller has quick parallel speed and high torque response.展开更多
