The present paper seeks to investigate the extent to which digital activism plays a role in political activism in Morocco through the intersection between women and young activists movement and the social media. By doing so the author argues that while facebook and the Moroccan political arena are Male dominated public areas, young female activists have emerged as prominent leaders in both spaces. The author will more particularly explain why female and youth activists are important in the current state of Moroccan politics. Next, the author provides a discussion of the February 20th Movement, and the movement's utilization of Facebook. It will show that young female activists involved in the February 20th Movement have used Facebook in unique and creative ways to further the Movement. 展开更多

Mediatic sporting events are increasingly used in the geopolitical arena to gain consensus, at the same time emerging as platforms for the discussion of social issues, such as human rights and sustainability. This article presents an investigation into the role of mediatic sporting events and digital platforms in sparking political debate and social engagement to bring about change, including discussions on global and local interests and the performances of activist fans to promote debate on specific issues. The investigation employs a quantitative methodology. The initial inductive analysis uses a matrix of cultural key-frames of the empowerment and protest that accompany media sporting events, verifying their presence and effectiveness in different communication milieus. An analysis of the representation of protests on social media was performed through content analysis. The results of the investigation show that mediatic sporting events are to be understood as a diverse range of generators of multiple political effects: from the exercise of power to mass mobilization and media criticism. 展开更多

A digital model is presented for the purpose of design, manufacture and measurement of hypoid gear, based on the non-uniform rational B-spline surface (NURBS) method. The digital model and the function-oriented active design technique are combined to form a new design method for hypoid gears. The method is well adaptable to CNC bevel gear cutting machines and CNC-controlled gear inspection machines, and can be used to create the initial machine tool cutting location data or program measurement path. The presented example verifies the method is correct. 展开更多

Single-cell analysis is crucial for deciphering cellular heterogeneity and understanding complex biological systems. However, most existing single-cell sample manipulation(SCSM)systems suffer from various drawbacks such as high cost, low throughput, and heavy reliance on human interventions.Currently, large language models(LLMs)have been used in robotic platforms, but a limited number of studies have reported the application of LLMs in the field of lab-ona-chip automation.Consequently,we have developed an active-matrix digital microfluidic(AM-DMF)platform that realizes fully automated biological procedures for intelligent SCSM.By combining this with a fully programmable labon-a-chip system,we present a breakthrough for SCSM by combining LLMs and object detection technologies. With the proposed platform, the single-cell sample generation rate and identification precision reach up to 25%and 98%,respectively,which are much higher than the existing platforms in terms of SCSM efficiency and performance.Furthermore,a three-class detection method considering droplet edges is implemented to realize the automatic identification of cells and oil bubbles. This method achieves a 1.0%improvement in cell recognition accuracy according to the AP_(75)^(test)metric,while efficiently distinguishing obscured cells at droplet edges, where approximately 20%of all droplets contain cells at their edges.More importantly,as the first attempt,a ubiquitous tool for automatic SCSM workflow generation is developed based on the LLMs,thus advancing the development and progression of the field of single-cell analysis in the life sciences. 展开更多

There is a long oral tradition and written record for the legend of the White Snake. As a woman, her“original sin”is being a snake. She is a snake who has cultivated herself for hundreds,if not thousands,of years to attain the form of a beautiful woman.Living as a resident“alien”(yilei)in the“Human Realm”(renjian),the White Snake has always been treated with suspicion, fear, exclusion, and violent suppression/exorcism.The White Snake is an immigrant to the human world, whose serpentine identity made her a“resident alien,”the legal category given to immigrants in the United States before they receive their“Green Card”and become a“permanent resident.”The implication of being a snake woman in the human world took on new meanings when the COVID-19 pandemic worsened the existing xenophobia, fcar, and suspicion toward minority populations in the contemporary United States and throughout the world.Inspired by the Chinese White Snake legend, the three Anglophone opera, film, and stage projects from Cerise Lim Jacobs,Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri,and Mary Zimmerman, energetically engage with issues relevant to minority activism in the United States and more broadly, through digital media and digital platforms. 展开更多

Social media communication and shifting attitudes toward social change across generations:a comparative study of Gen Z and older cohorts

Based on media influence theory and generational difference theory, this study reveals behavioral differences between Generation Z and older groups in their participation in digital protests through a combination of questionnaire surveys and text sentiment analysis.Data analysis shows that Generation Z displays a stronger emotional resonance with content disseminated on social media,is more inclined to trust content generated by users of the same age,and is accustomed to participating in public affairs via visual platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.In contrast, the older group has a cautious attitude towards digital resistance, prefers traditional media channels, and has a lower level of emotional investment.Emotional analysis of over 8,000 social media posts confirms this generational difference:Generation Z frequently uses emotional terms such as“rupture”and“empathy”in their tweets, while the older generation tends to use more rational, argumentative language. The research confirmed that intergenerational media usage habits, shaped by differences in growing-up environments, have a profound impact on the construction of citizenship in the internet age. These findings provide empirical evidence for formulating intergenerational communication strategies and suggest that public issue communication must design differentiated plans based on the characteristics of different generations. 展开更多
