We introduce a phase-only hologram generation method based on an integral imaging, and propose an enhancement method in representable depth interval. The computational integral imaging reconstruction method is modified based on optical flow to obtain depth-slice images for the focused objects only. A phaseonly hologram for' multiple plane images is generated using the iterative Fresnel transform algorithm. In addition, a division method in hologram plane is proposed for enhancement in the representable minimum depth interval. 展开更多

Besides the main measuring laser beam, the second beam is used to decrease the error of time synchronization. The third beam has n+0.5 pixels' difference compared to the main measuring beam on a CCD, and it is used to correct the error caused by CCD discrete sampling. A three-dimensional(3D) imaging experiment using this scheme is carried out with time bin size of 0.066 ns(i.e., corresponding to a distance of 9.9 mm). An image of a 3D model is obtained with the depth resolution of 〈2 mm, which corresponds to ~0.2 pixel. 展开更多

One of the major innovations awaiting in electron microscopy is full three-dimensional imaging at atomic resolution.Despite the success of aberration correction to deep sub-angstrom lateral resolution, spatial resolution in depth is still far from atomic resolution. In scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM),this poor depth resolution is due to the limitation of the illumination angle. To overcome this physical limitation,it is essential to implement a next-generation aberration corrector in STEM that can significantly improve the depth resolution. This review discusses the capability of depth sectioning for three-dimensional imaging combined with large-angle illumination STEM.Furthermore, the statistical analysis approach remarkably improves the depth resolution, making it possible to achieve three-dimensional atomic resolution imaging at oxide surfaces. We will also discuss the future prospects of three-dimensional imaging at atomic resolution by STEM depth sectioning. 展开更多

A spatial resolution effect of remote sensing bathymetry is an important scientific problem. The in situ measured water depth data and images of Dongdao Island are used to study the effect of water depth inversion from different spatial resolution remote sensing images. The research experiments are divided into five groups including Quick Bird and World View-2 remote sensing images with their original spatial resolution(2.4/2.0 m)and four kinds of reducing spatial resolution(4, 8, 16 and 32 m), and the water depth control and checking points are set up to carry out remote sensing water depth inversion. The experiment results indicate that the accuracy of the water depth remote sensing inversion increases first as the spatial resolution decreases from 2.4/2.0 to 4, 8 and16 m. And then the accuracy decreases along with the decreasing spatial resolution. When the spatial resolution of the image is 16 m, the inversion error is minimum. In this case, when the spatial resolution of the remote sensing image is 16 m, the mean relative errors(MRE) of Quick Bird and World View-2 bathymetry are 21.2% and 13.1%,compared with the maximum error are decreased by 14.7% and 2.9% respectively; the mean absolute errors(MAE) are 2.0 and 1.4 m, compared with the maximum are decreased by 1.0 and 0.5 m respectively. The results provide an important reference for the selection of remote sensing data in the study and application of the remote sensing bathymetry. 展开更多

This Letter proposes a high bit-depth coding method to improve depth map resolution and render it suitable to human-eye observation in 3D range-intensity correlation laser imaging. In this method, a high bit-depth CCD camera with a nanosecond-sealed gated intensifier is used as an image sensor; subsequently two high bit-depth gate images with specific range-intensity profiles are obtained to establish the gray depth map and finally the gray depth map is encoded by an equidensity pseudocolor. With this method, a color depth map is generated with higher range resolution. In our experimental work, the range resolution of the depth map is improved by a factor of 1.67. 展开更多
