To gain an insight into the mechanism of this remarkable regioselective behavior, two corresponding permethylated β-CDs with an alcohol function at either 2- or 3-position were synthesized in our previous study. As a step further to this work, the two compounds were subjected to deoxygenation reaction with tributyltin hydride in the present of 2,2'- azobisisobutyronitrile affording the corresponding 2- and 3-deoxy permethylated β-CD derivatives (19 and 16). The structures of these two compounds were characterized by 1D and 2D NMR and HRMS. Compounds 16 and 19 were unable to react with DIBAL- H which suggests that O-2A and O-3B are necessary for DIBAL-H promoted bis-de-O-methylation reaction of permethylated β-CD.展开更多

The evolution of cryptography and cryptographic analysis are regarded domains of current research. deoxyribo nucleic acid (DNA) cryptography makes use of DNA as a sensing platform, which is then manipulated usinga variety of molecular methods. Many security mechanisms including knowledgebased authentication, two-factor authentication, adaptive authentication, multifactorauthentication and single password authentication have been deployed. These cryptographic techniques have been developed to ensure confidentiality, but most ofthem are based on complex mathematical calculations and equations. In the proposed approach, a novel and unique Hybrid helix scuttle-deoxy ribo nucleic acids(HHS-DNA) encryption algorithm has been proposed which is inspired by DNAcryptography and Helix scuttle. The proposed HHS-DNA is a type of multifold binary version of DNA (MF-BDNA). The major role of this paper is to present a multifold HHS-DNA algorithm to encrypt the cloud data assuring more security with lesscomplexity. The experimentation is carried out and it reduces the encryption time,cipher text size, and improves throughput. When compared with previous techniques, there is a 45% improvement in throughput, 37% fast in encryption time,54.67% cipher text size. The relevant experimental results and foregoing analysisshow that this method is of good robustness, stability, and security.展开更多
Reports on large-scale syntheses of rare deoxy sugars are notably limited,which poses a significant obstacle to the identification of glycans containing these rare sugars as potential therapeutic agents in the treatme...Reports on large-scale syntheses of rare deoxy sugars are notably limited,which poses a significant obstacle to the identification of glycans containing these rare sugars as potential therapeutic agents in the treatment of infectious diseases.In this manuscript,we present a hectogram-scale synthesis of the rare 3-amino sugar,saccharosamine,which is an essential component of the heptadecasaccharide saccharomicins,demonstrating considerable potential for the development of a novel class of antibiotics.The synthesis was initiated from the naturally abundant mannose and involved three batch processes in conjunction with five continuous flow processes,representing the most efficient synthetic pathway established to date.A total of five purification steps were conducted,and the process was meticulously designed to obviate the necessity for column chromatography.The effectiveness of these streamlined procedures,along with straightforward manipulation and purification protocols,effectively addresses the challenges associated with scaling up and provides a viable and environmentally sustainable solution for the rapid synthesis of related rare deoxy sugars.展开更多
Background:Vascular thrombus is a common complication in cancer patients and can be classified as benign or neoplastic based on tumor cell presence.Conventional imaging modalities provide anatomical information but ex...Background:Vascular thrombus is a common complication in cancer patients and can be classified as benign or neoplastic based on tumor cell presence.Conventional imaging modalities provide anatomical information but exhibit limited specificity in distinguishing neoplastic from benign thrombi,prompting the evaluation of 2‐deoxy‐2‐[^(18)F]fluoro‐D‐glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography([^(18)F]FDG PET/CT),which leverages metabolic differences for improved differentiation.In this study,the efficacy of[^(18)F]FDG PET/CT for differentiating neoplastic thrombus from benign thrombus was evaluated in patients with malignant tumors.Methods:Sixty‐five patients with histologically or clinically confirmed neoplastic or benign thrombus who underwent[^(18)F]FDG PET/CT were retrospectively enrolled.Both visual and semi‐quantitative analyses of the PET/CT scans were conducted.The difference in maximum standardized uptake value(SUVmax)between neoplastic and benign thrombus was assessed using a t‐test.Furthermore,receiver operating characteristics(ROC)analysis was performed to determine the optimal SUVmax threshold for differentiating neoplastic from benign thrombus.Results:Within the cohort,55 patients were diagnosed with neoplastic thrombus and 10 patients with benign thrombus.In the visual analysis,the sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,negative predictive value,and diagnostic accuracy of[^(18)F]FDG PET/CT for diagnosing neoplastic thrombus were 96.4%,90.0%,98.1%,81.8%,and 95.4%,respectively.In the semiquantitative analysis,the sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,negative predictive value,and diagnostic accuracy for diagnosing neoplastic thrombus were 96.4%,100%,100%,83.3%,and 96.9%,respectively.The normalized SUVmax of neoplastic thrombus was significantly higher than that of benign thrombus(10.11�5.32 vs.2.21�0.51,p<0.001).The area under the ROC curves for visual assessment and semi‐quantitative analysis were 0.932 and 0.993,respectively.There was no statistically significant difference observed between these two assessment methods(p=0.317).Conclusions:[^(18)F]FDG PET/CT is capable of differentiating neoplastic thrombus from benign thrombus.Both visual and semiquantitative analyses demonstrated high diagnostic sensitivity,specificity,and accuracy.展开更多
