In this study,the evidence-based design(EBD)of naturalized decoration in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT)wards of Peking University First Hospital was explored to improve patients’psychological state and rehabilitation environment by introducing natural elements.Based on questionnaire surveys and literature research,the EBD method was adopted to propose a naturalized decoration scheme for HSCT wards,and a satisfaction evaluation was conducted after construction and use.The research results show that naturalized decoration can effectively enhance the satisfaction and comfort of patients and medical staff,verifying its positive effects in HSCT wards. 展开更多

Na metal batteries(SMBs)have emerged as a fascinating choice for large-scale energy storage.However,dendrite formation on Na metal anode has been acknowledged to cause inferior cycling stability and safety issues.Herein,we report the design of atomic indium-decorated graphene(In/G)to inhibit the growth of Na dendrites and substantially improve the stability of high-energy-density SMBs.Benefiting from the high-valence In-O-C configuration and evenly distributed sodiophilic sites,the In/G promotes uniform nucleation and in-plane growth of Na on the electrode surface,resulting in the intrinsic suppression of Na dendrites.Remarkably,the In/G@Na||Na batteries exhibit excellent long-term cyclability with 160 h at 8 mA cm^(-2)and ultralow overpotential of 110 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2).The Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)||In/G@Na full batteries show exceptionally high reversible discharge capacity of 61 mAh g^(-1)at an ultrahigh rate of 40 C and extremely low capacity decay rate of only 0.021%per cycle over 300 cycles at 1 C.Therefore,this strategy provides a new direction for the development of next-generation high-energydensity SMBs. 展开更多

The haematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT)ward serves as a temporary residence for patients following their surgical procedures,necessitating adherence to rigorous aseptic standards.However,the current atmosphere within these wards frequently contributes to feelings of depression among patients.Research indicates that a restorative environment has the potential to alleviate negative emotional states in individuals.This study utilized the HSCT ward of Peking University First Hospital as a case study to examine the decorative preferences.This investigation was conducted through a questionnaire that was informed by the patients’inherent preferences and insights derived from research on restorative environments.The results indicated that the incorporation of floral decorations,particularly those resembling sunflowers,in ward corridors,communal activity areas,and walls can significantly enhance patients’sense of hope.Additionally,it is essential to improve the environmental visual experience in the nurses’lounge and demonstration rooms for medical staff. 展开更多

Surface modification of graphite anode with electroactive matters has been proven of a more practical strategy in enhancing the performance of Li-ion batteries than exploring alternative novel anode materials.Herein,rutile TiNbO_(4-x) nanoparticles with a tunnel structure are employed as multifunctional decoration substances in combination with a carbon coating layer to improve the rate and cycle properties of mesocarbon microbeads(MCMBs).As compared to pristine MCMB,the Li^(+)diffusion coefficients of the composite anodes are enhanced due to the synergistic effect of TiNbO_(4-x)@C.Meanwhile,the overcharge and voltage polarization of the composite anodes at high rate are obviously minimized due to the current sharing effect of the high-potential TiNbO_(4-x).Moreover,the amorphous Li_(y)TiNbO_(4-x) converted from TiNbO_(4-x) in the initial lithiation process can deliver pseudocapacitive capacity to the composite anodes from the second cycle.All of these functions of TiNbO_(4-x)@Ccoating layer have directly contributed to the improved rate and cycle performance of the MCMB/TiNbO_(4-x)@C composite anodes.The one containing 12.0 wt%TiNbO_(4-x) exhibits a high reversible specific capacity of 118 m Ah·g^(-1)at 10C(1C=372 m A·g^(-1)),together with a high capacity retention of 90.9%after 300 cycles at 3C,which are all much superior to those of pristine MCMB. 展开更多

This study aims to investigate the feasibility of using decoration waste powder(DWP)as a partial replacement for fly ash(FA)in the preparation of geopolymer masonry mortar,and to examine the effect of different DWP replacement rates(0%-40%)on the fresh and mechanical properties of the mortar.The results showed that each group of geopolymer masonry mortar exhibited excellent water retention performance,with a water retention rate of 100%,which was due to the unique geopolymer mortar system and high viscosity of the alkaline activator solution.Compared to the control group,the flowability of the mortar containing lower contents of DWP(10%and 20%)was higher.However,as the DWP replacement rate further increased,the flowability gradually decreased.The DWP could absorb the free water in the reaction system of geopolymer mortar,thereby limiting the occurrence of geopolymerization reaction.The incorporation of DWP in the mortar resulted in a decrease in compressive strength compared to the mortar without DWP.However,even at a replacement rate of 40%,the compressive strength of the mortar still exceeded 15 MPa,which met the requirements of the masonry mortar.It was feasible to use DWP in the geopolymer masonry mortar.Although the addition of DWP caused some performance loss,it did not affect its usability. 展开更多

Nests are important structures for birds to raise their offspring and for signaling.Many birds incorporate feathers into the nest,since feathers were traditionally thought to serve the function of insulation.Hypotheses in recent years have considered that some birds place feathers in conspicuous locations in the nest for decoration to trigger a fear response in the competitors.In this study,we investigated whether decorative feathers could deter nest usurpation by Crested Mynas(Acridotheres cristatellus)by manipulating nest box contents.The results revealed that Crested Mynas preferred black feathers to white feathers as decorations and occupied nest boxes decorated with black feathers significantly less than those decorated with white feathers,suggesting that black decorative feathers in the nest could be more effective in preventing nest usurpation by Crested Mynas and that white decorative feathers may have other functions.The black feathers in the nest are prominently placed at the edge of the nest to convey the message that“this nest is occupied”or“the owner of this nest has been preyed upon”to visitor Crested Mynas,thus effectively preventing them from usurping the nest at a later stage. 展开更多

In electrochemical energy devices,the operating conditions always exert enormous influence on electrocatalysts'performances.Phosphoric acid(PA),acted as the proton carriers,can be adsorbed on Pt surface,block active sites and affect the electronic structure of Pt unfavorably,which severely restricts the performance of high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells(HT-PEMFCs).Herein,simply basic organic compounds,such as dicyandiamide(DCD),melamine(Mel)and cyanuric acid(CA),are decorated on Pt surface(DCD-Pt/C,Mel-Pt/C and CA-Pt/C)to induce the adsorption transfer of proton carriers.The decoration can not only inject electrons to Pt and enhance oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity but also can induce PA to transfer from Pt surface to organic compounds,decontaminating active sites.In addition,the organic compounds with the larger conjugated system and the smaller electronegativity of ligating atoms would have a greater interaction with Pt,causing a larger decoration amount on Pt surface,which leads to more excellent ORR activity and resistance to PA blockage effect.Therefore,MelPt/C shows a peak power density of 629 mW/cm^(2),exceeding commercial Pt/C(437 mW/cm^(2)),DCD-Pt/C(539 m W/cm^(2))and CA-Pt/C(511 mW/cm^(2))with the same loading. 展开更多

Solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs),displaying high current density and energy efficiency,have been proven to be an effective technique to electrochemically reduce CO_(2)into CO.However,the insufficiency of cathode activity and stability is a tricky problem to be addressed for SOECs.Hence,it is urgent to develop suitable cathode materials with excellent catalytic activity and stability for further practical application of SOECs.Herein,a reduced perovskite oxide,Pr_(0.35)Sr_(0.6)Fe_(0.7)Cu_(0.2)Mo_(0.1)O_(3-δ)(PSFCM0.35),is developed as SOECs cathode to electrolyze CO_(2).After reduction in 10%H_(2)/Ar,Cu and Fe nanoparticles are exsolved from the PSFCM0.35 lattice,resulting in a phase transformation from cubic perovskite to Ruddlesden-Popper(RP)perovskite with more oxygen vacancies.The exsolved metal nanoparticles are tightly attached to the perovskite substrate and afford more active sites to accelerate CO_(2)adsorption and dissociation on the cathode surface.The significantly strengthened CO_(2)adsorption capacity obtained after reduction is demonstrated by in situ Fourier transform-infrared(FT-IR)spectra.Symmetric cells with the reduced PSFCM0.35(R-PSFCM0.35)electrode exhibit a low polarization resistance of 0.43Ωcm^(2)at 850℃.Single electrolysis cells with the R-PSFCM0.35 cathode display an outstanding current density of 2947 mA cm^(-2)at 850℃and 1.6 V.In addition,the catalytic stability of the R-PSFCM0.35 cathode is also proved by operating at 800℃with an applied constant current density of 600 mA cm^(-2)for 100 h. 展开更多
