A FS-MPC (finite set-model predictive control) strategy for a three-phase VSI for RES (renewable energy systems) applications is implemented. The renewable energy systems model is used in this paper to investigate the system performance when power is supplied to resistive-inductive load. With three different cases, the evaluation of the system is done. Firstly, the robustness of control strategy under variable DC-Link is done in terms of the THD (total harmonic distortion). Secondly, with one prediction step, the system performance is tested using different sampling time, and lastly, the dynamic response of the system with step change in the amplitude of the reference is investigated. The simulations and result analyses are carried out using Matlab/Simulink to test the effectiveness and robustness of FS-MPC for two-level VSI with AC filter for resistive-inductive load supplied by a renewable energy system.展开更多

These systems use power electronic components such as inverters that produce harmonics which adversely affect the power quality of the distribution network. Instead of using a conventional PI current controller with a fixed proportional and integral gain, development of new control method is considered to overcome the total harmonic emissions in PV inverters. It considers a modification to the controller where a random integral gain is used in the system. Experimental hardware is developed and result shows a reduced total harmonic distortion (THD) of the output current when tested with a resistive load.展开更多

A control strategy of sine-sine pulse width modulation (PWM) is studied. Compared with the traditional current-source inverter, the power frequency inductors and power frequency transformer are replaced with high frequency inductors and a high frequency transformer. Thus, the proposed inverter has advantages of small volume, low cost, low total harmonic distortion (THD), low power losses, high power factor (PF) and simple control. Furthermore, grid voltage cannot influence output current of the grid-connected inverter and the current-source inverter with a high PF that approaches one has been realized. Finally, validity of the theory analysis and feasibility of the control scheme are shown by simulation and experimental results.展开更多

Volatile changes in the gird parameters rising by its variable demands and other related issues may humiliate the efficiency with which power can be injected into the grid. The system becomes a higher order one with the filters used at the terminal of the Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) along with the parameters of the grid which change from time to time. Single time tuned mathematical controllers like the PID variants are not suitable for such applications. Considering the increased order of the system and the associated non-linearity we have to look out for intelligent controllers. An ANFIS based control is found to be promising;the development and implementation of one such are demonstrated in this paper using the MATLAB SIMULINK platform and through experimental verification using the Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) Microcontroller Advanced RISC Machine (ARM) processor as the central controller for the VSI.展开更多

In this paper we discuss a new control system based on space vector modulation (SVM) without any voltage line sensors. Using direct power control (DPC) SVM and a new double synchronous reference frame phase-locked loop (DSRF-PLL) approach, the control system is resistant to the majority of line voltage disturbances. Also, the system response has accelerated by using a feed forward power decoupled loop. The operation of this control strategy was verified in a SIMULINK/MATLAB simulation environment. To validate this control system, a 5 kV.A prototype system was constructed. Compared to the original controllers, the current total harmonic distortion (THD), the active and reactive deviations and the DC voltage overshoot were lowered by 2.5%, 6.2% and 8%, respectively. The rectifier power factor in the worst condition was 0.93 and the DC voltage settling time was 0.2 s.展开更多

Multilevel inverters are most familiar with power converter’s applications due to reduced dv/dt, di/dt stress, and very efficient for reducing harmonic distortion in the output voltage and output current. The proposed nine-level current source inverter has been tested under symmetrical and asymmetrical modes of operation, and their activities are compared using PI and Fuzzy PI (Proportional Integral) controllers with multicarrier PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) strategy. MATLAB/Simulink simulation has been made for the proposed converter to obtain its performance measures. Some experimental results are given to verify the presented Current Source Multilevel Inverter.
文摘In this manuscript it is proposed and demonstrated that how an ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System) can be used in the control of a Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) connected to the grid. An ANFIS based control is found to be promising;the development and implementation of one such are demonstrated in this paper using the MATLAB SIMULINK platform and through experimental verification using the Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) Microcontroller Advanced RISC Machine (ARM) processor as the central controller for the VSI.
文摘In this paper, a new predictive control strategy for current source matrix converter (CSMC) is presented. Proposed predictive control strategy allows for creating output voltages with boost type voltage transfer ratio and desired frequency. The description of predictive control circuit of the CSMC is presented. Furthermore the simulation test results to confirm functionality of the proposed control strategy and converter properties under this strategy are shown.
文摘Voltage source converter high-voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) is a new power transmission technology pref- erable in small or medium power transmission. The rectifier power factor in the worst condition was 0.93 and the DC voltage settling time was 0.2 s.
