The pulse-width-modulated(PWM)current-source converters(CSCs)fed electric machine systems can be considered as a type of high reliability energy conversion systems,since they work with the long-life DC-link inductor and offer high fault-tolerant capability for short-circuit faults.Besides,they provide motor friendly waveforms and four-quadrant operation ability.Therefore,they are suitable for high-power applications of fans,pumps,compressors and wind power generation.The purpose of this paper is to comprehensively review recent developments of key technologies on modulation and control of high-power(HP)PWM-CSC fed electric machines systems,including reduction of low-order current harmonics,suppression of inductor–capacitor(LC)resonance,mitigation of common-mode voltage(CMV)and control of modular PWM-CSC fed systems.In particular,recent work on the overlapping effects during commutation,LC resonance suppression under fault-tolerant operation and collaboration of modular PMW-CSCs are described.Both theoretical analysis and some results in simulations and experiments are presented.Finally,a brief discussion regarding the future trend of the HP CSC fed electric machines systems is presented. 展开更多

In medium voltage high power applications,multi-level current source converters(CSCs)are good candidate to increase system power region,reliability,and the quality of output waveforms.Compared with widely researched voltage source multi-level converters(MLCs),the current source MLCs have the advantages of inherent short-circuit protection,high power capability and high quality of output current waveforms.The main features of MLCs include reduced harmonics,lower switching frequency and reduced current stress on each device which is a particularly important for high power application with low voltage and high current requirements.This paper conducts a general review of the current research about MLCs in higher power medium voltage application.The different types of parallel structure based MLCs and the modulation methodologies will be introduced and compared.Specifically,the circuit analysis of the common-mode(CM)loop for parallel structures will be conducted,the common-mode voltage(CMV)and circulating current suppression methods developed on the base of multilevel modulations will be addressed. 展开更多

Compared with the traditi... A novel topology of the current-source grid-connected inverter is proposed based on the immittance converter theory. A control strategy of sine-sine pulse width modulation (PWM) is studied. Compared with the traditional current-source inverter, the power frequency inductors and power frequency transformer are replaced with high frequency inductors and a high frequency transformer. Thus, the proposed inverter has advantages of small volume, low cost, low total harmonic distortion (THD), low power losses, high power factor (PF) and simple control. Furthermore, grid voltage cannot influence output current of the grid-connected inverter and the current-source inverter with a high PF that approaches one has been realized. Finally, validity of the theory analysis and feasibility of the control scheme are shown by simulation and experimental results. 展开更多

Three Phase Dual Input Direct Matrix Converter for Integration of Two AC Sources from Wind Turbines

This project proposes a novel dual-input matrix converter (DIMC) which is used to integrate the output of the wind energy to a power grid. The proposed matrix converter is developed based on the traditional indirect matrix converter under reverse power flow operation mode, but with its six-switch voltage source converter replaced by a nine-switch configuration followed by the current source inverter (CSI). Matrix electric power conversion topologies and their switch functions are flexible and are used for specific applications. With the additional three switches, the proposed DIMC can provide six input terminals, which make it possible to integrate two independent AC sources from two independent wind turbines into a single grid tied power electronics interface. Commanded currents can be extracted from the two input sources to the grid. The proposed PI control and modulation schemes guaranteed sinusoidal input and output waveforms as well as reduced THD. The simulation results are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control and modulation schemes for the proposed converter. 展开更多

电流源换流器(CSC)海上风电送出系统具有功率密度高和能够给无源网络供电等优势,具有良好的应用前景。但现有方案存在三大问题:需要大量通信、黑启动不经济和风电机组无功功率易过载。为此,文中提出了一种改进型孤岛运行与黑启动策略。... 电流源换流器(CSC)海上风电送出系统具有功率密度高和能够给无源网络供电等优势,具有良好的应用前景。但现有方案存在三大问题:需要大量通信、黑启动不经济和风电机组无功功率易过载。为此,文中提出了一种改进型孤岛运行与黑启动策略。首先,基于灵敏度分析,提出了无需通信的CSC与风电机组协同控制海上交流电压幅值和频率的方法;接着,提出利用LC滤波器作为无功负载,送端CSC与受端CSC协同建立海上交流电压的方法;之后,分析了系统启动时直流电压对风电机组无功功率过载的影响,提出了无功功率优化策略;然后,基于PSCAD对上述策略进行仿真验证;最后,从复杂度、可行性和成本3个方面对CSC方案和二极管整流单元方案展开讨论。分析结果表明了改进型孤岛运行与黑启动策略的有效性。 展开更多

在基于电流源型变换器的永磁同步风力发电系统(CSC-PMSG-WGS)控制中,比例积分(PI)控制依然是广泛采用的基本控制方法。传统PI参数设计方法由于采用诸多近似计算而使得设计结果不准确,或是由于采用智能优化算法进行参数自动寻优导致PI参... 在基于电流源型变换器的永磁同步风力发电系统(CSC-PMSG-WGS)控制中,比例积分(PI)控制依然是广泛采用的基本控制方法。传统PI参数设计方法由于采用诸多近似计算而使得设计结果不准确,或是由于采用智能优化算法进行参数自动寻优导致PI参数的设计方法不通用。为了综合考虑系统中控制器PI参数设计的准确性和简便性,提出一种基于解析计算的设计方法。该方法首先在分析考虑工程实际情况的控制系统传递函数基础上,推导出控制器PI参数解析计算表达式;然后按照系统性能要求及系统参数确定计算式中的关键待定参数进而得到PI参数的值;最后,针对10k W CSC-PMSG-WGS系统实例,分析采用该方法的PI参数详细设计过程。仿真和实验结果证明了采用所提控制器参数设计方法能够有效减少控制器参数设计工作量,并且取得良好的动态和稳态控制性能。 展开更多

Pulse width modulated current-source converter(PWM-CSC)has great prospects in high voltage direct current transmission system(HVDC)due to its attractive features,such as flexible control characteristics,ability to avoid commutation failure,and lower cost.However,valve voltage of the PWM-CSC is the jump value between filter capacitors line-voltage and zero voltage due to its bypass operation,resulting in high peak voltage withstand by the converter for a rated HVDC system and high voltage ripper ratio.In order to solve these issues,an improved modulation method called specific carrier frequency of SPWM is proposed.After adopting the improved modulation method,the number of the reverse blocking integrated gate commutated thyristor(RB-IGCT)in series can reduce by 31.5%under unity power factor operation and the value of the dc choke can reduce by about 78.6%compared to traditional modulation methods,improving practicability of engineering application.Moreover,active power and reactive power operating range are derived under different modulation methods and the relationship of the power factor,modulation in q-axis and DC current are studied.Finally,effectiveness of the improved modulation method and comparisons of power operating range are verified in PSCAD/EMTDC. 展开更多

改进基频调制电流源换流器(EFFM-CSC)作为基于全控型集成门极换流晶闸管(IGCT)器件的电流源换流器,具有拓扑结构简单、体积重量小、谐波特性好和有功/无功功率灵活可调的优点,受到了广泛关注。然而,基于EFFM-CSC的高压直流(HVDC)系统同... 改进基频调制电流源换流器(EFFM-CSC)作为基于全控型集成门极换流晶闸管(IGCT)器件的电流源换流器,具有拓扑结构简单、体积重量小、谐波特性好和有功/无功功率灵活可调的优点,受到了广泛关注。然而,基于EFFM-CSC的高压直流(HVDC)系统同样面临直流线路短路这一严重故障,目前尚缺乏系统性的定量分析和研究。因此,针对EFFM-CSC换流站拓扑以及短路瞬间开关状态,建立了复频域下的运算电路模型。然后,根据储能等效原则得到等效RLC参数,构建直流短路时EFFM-CSC的故障等值模型,推导出直流故障电流解析计算公式,并讨论了系统参数和故障时刻对故障电流的影响。根据EFFM-CSC直流短路故障特性,提出了一种故障识别判据和故障电流抑制策略,并对抑制策略的控制参数进行整定。最后,基于仿真分析验证了所提故障电流计算方法和故障抑制策略的正确性。 展开更多

基于高低阀移相的电流源换流器海上风电送出系统

基频调制电流源换流器(FFM-CSC)是实现海上风电直流送出的新型拓扑。但FFM-CSC的特征谐波含量大,依赖LC滤波器进行补偿,增加了海上平台的体积和重量。同时,其单一控制自由度无法独立控制海上交流母线的电压和频率。改进基频调制CSC(EFFM... 基频调制电流源换流器(FFM-CSC)是实现海上风电直流送出的新型拓扑。但FFM-CSC的特征谐波含量大,依赖LC滤波器进行补偿,增加了海上平台的体积和重量。同时,其单一控制自由度无法独立控制海上交流母线的电压和频率。改进基频调制CSC(EFFM-CSC)在FFM-CSC基础上,引入补偿角,具备两个控制自由度,其控制海上交流电压的能力亟待发掘。针对CSC送出系统的谐波含量大、LC参数优化和海上电压控制的问题,该文提出一种高低阀移相控制策略的EFFM-CSC用于远海风电直流送出系统。首先,分析普通双12脉动CSC的谐波传递特性,根据移相多重化的思路,提出高低阀触发角移相15°的方法。其次,通过数学推导和谐波传递规律,分析移相EFFM-CSC谐波特性,其不依赖移相15°变压器,即可大幅降低11、13次谐波含量。在此基础上,综合考虑滤波效果、电容电压及体积和重量,提出LC参数优化设计方法,实现LC滤波器轻型化。同时,通过探究海上电压幅值频率与控制量之间的单调规律,设计出海上交流电压控制策略。最后搭建PSCAD仿真模型和物理实验平台,验证了移相EFFM-CSC的工作原理和控制策略的正确性。 展开更多

With the load growth and the power grid expansion,the problem of short-circuit current(SCC)exceeding the secure limit in large-scale power grids has become more serious,which poses great challenge to the optimal secure operation.Aiming at the SCC limitations,we use multiple back-toback voltage source converter based(B2B VSC)systems to separate a large-scale AC power grid into two asynchronous power grids.A multi-objective robust optimal secure operation model of large-scale power grid with multiple B2B VSC systems considering the SCC limitation is established based on the AC power flow equations.The decision variables include the on/off states of synchronous generators,power output,terminal voltage,transmission switching,bus sectionalization,and modulation ratios of B2B VSC systems.The influence of inner current sources of renewable energy generators on the system SCC is also considered.To improve the computational efficiency,a mixedinteger convex programming(MICP)framework based on convex relaxation methods including the inscribed N-sided approximation for the nonlinear SCC limitation constraints is proposed.Moreover,combined with the column-and-constraint generation(C&CG)algorithm,a method to directly solve the compromise optimal solution(COS)of the multi-objective robust optimal secure operation model is proposed.Finally,the effectiveness and computational efficiency of the proposed solution method is demonstrated by an actual 4407-bus provincial power grid and the modified IEEE 39-bus power grid,which can reduce the consumed CPU time of solving the COS by more than 90%and obtain a better COS. 展开更多

在能源互联网建设中,DC/DC换流器是实现不同直流电压等级的可再生能源并网的必要环节,引起了广泛的研究。DC/DC换流器的体积、成本、动稳态性能和故障性能是其广泛应用的限制因素。为此,提出了一种并网端采用有源电流源换流器、分布式... 在能源互联网建设中,DC/DC换流器是实现不同直流电压等级的可再生能源并网的必要环节,引起了广泛的研究。DC/DC换流器的体积、成本、动稳态性能和故障性能是其广泛应用的限制因素。为此,提出了一种并网端采用有源电流源换流器、分布式能源端采用电压源换流器的front-to-front混合DC/DC换流器,其中CSC和VSC交流侧采用高频率正弦波调制。所提出的基于CSC-VSC的混合DC/DC换流器具有体积小、成本低、可穿越直流短路故障等优点。通过对混合DC/DC换流器数学模型的分析,提出了换流器参数设计方法,给出了换流器运行范围约束。再提出了一种适用于混合DC/DC换流器的综合控制策略,其中CSC采用有功无功闭环控制、VSC采用交流电压幅值闭环控制。利用RTLAB半实物仿真平台分别对混合DC/DC换流器额定运行工况和直流短路工况进行了实验研究,结果验证了所提混合DC/DC换流器拓扑和控制策略的合理性和有效性。 展开更多
