In order to improve the use efficiency of curb parking, a reasonable curb parking pricing is evaluated by considering individual parking choice behavior. The parking choice behavior is analyzed from micro-aspects, and...In order to improve the use efficiency of curb parking, a reasonable curb parking pricing is evaluated by considering individual parking choice behavior. The parking choice behavior is analyzed from micro-aspects, and the choice behavior utility function is established combining trip time, search time, waiting time, access time and parking fee. By the utility function, a probit-based parking choice behavior model is constructed. On the basis of these, the curb parking pricing model is deduced by considering the constrained conditions, and an incremental assignment algorithm of the model is also designed. Finally, the model is applied to the parking planning of Tongling city. It is pointed out that the average parking time of curb parking decreases 34%, and the average turnover rate increases 67% under the computed parking price system. The results show that the model can optimize the utilization of static traffic facilities.展开更多

We therefore proposed ...Background: Despiteits recommendation in management guide lines for community acquired pneumonia (CAP), the CURB65 score is frequently not followed for disposition decisions in clinical routine. We therefore proposed an improved CURB65 A score, supplemented by proadre nome dull in (ProADM) levels for patients with CAP and other lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs). In this study, we vali dated this risk based biomarker enhanced disposition in patients with LRTIs presenting to the emergency department of the University Hospital of Basel. Methods: In this prospective observational cohort study of 85 patients presenting with LRTIs, site of care was decided by the physicians in charge according to their judgement. Retro spectively the CURB65 A score was calculated and a virtual disposition assigned. This was compared with the existing disposition in order to identify efficacy of the novel risk based biomarker enhanced disposition. Results: The novel disposition criteria considered 14 patients suitable for outpatient treatment compared to 11 in the current disposition (p = 0.5). It detected 7 patients to be best treated outside the hospital for nursing reasons, while the current disposition detected only 1 patient requiring geriatric care (p = 0.09). Further, it decreased regular hospitalizations considerably (32 vs. 64, p 0.001). Conclusions: The novel risk based biomarker enhanced disposition is an objective, safe and probably more efficient disposition system to identify outpatient treatment options than the current practice at the University Hospital of Basel.展开更多
Curb detection provides road boundary information and is important to road detection.However,curb detection is challenging due to the problems such as various curb shapes,colour,discontinuity.In this work,a novel lear...Curb detection provides road boundary information and is important to road detection.However,curb detection is challenging due to the problems such as various curb shapes,colour,discontinuity.In this work,a novel learning-based method for curb detection is proposed using Lidar point clouds,considering that Lidars are not sensitive to illumination and are relatively stable to weather conditions.A deep neural network,named EdgeNet,is constructed and trained,which handles point clouds in an end-to-end way.After EdgeNet is properly trained,curb points are then segmented in the neural network output.In order to train,a curb point annotation algorithm is also designed to generate training dataset.The curb detection method works well with different road scenarios including intersections.The experimental results validate the effectiveness and robustness of this curb detection method.展开更多

In the proposed method, firstly, 2D sequential laser range finder data were aligned using a Dead-Reckoning (DR) and GPS loeaHzation method based on extended Kalman filter. Secondly, curb points were extracted from multi.frame laser data based on spatial-temporal correlation analysis. Finally. the straight and curved curbs were detected by coordinate axis conversion least square linear fitting method and piecewise weighted least square fitting model respectively. The proposed method can detect both raised and sunken curbs robustly in campus environment. The proposed method has been verified in a real robot platform.展开更多

Under an often-used square voltage pulse, in which the voltage rises from zero to a certain value abruptly, the charging current in the circuit is very large at the rising and falling edges. This large charging current makes measurement of the actual emissive current from the cathode difficult, constitutes a threat to the components in the circuit and causes attenuation of the emissive current within the pulse. To alleviate these drawbacks, trapezoid voltage pulses, whose rising edges are extended dramatically in comparison with square voltage pulses, are employed to extract the field emission. Under a trapezoid voltage pulse, the charging current is clearly lowered as expected. Furthermore, the heat generated by the charging current under the trapezoid voltage pulse is much smaller than that under the square voltage pulse. Hence the emissive current does not show any attenuation within the pulse. Finally, the average emissive currents are found to decrease with the repetition frequency of the pulses.展开更多
