It is the key to carry out scale model test to establish a distortion model similar to the real ship structure under combined load. A similarity criterion for ship distortion model under the combined action of bending moment and surface pressure was proposed, and the scale effect for the criterion was verified by a se ries of numerical analysis and model tests. The results show that the similarity criterion for ship distor tion model under combined loads has a certain scale effect. For the model tests of ship cabin struc tures, it is suggested that the scale range between the plate thickness scale and the main dimension scale should be controlled within 2:1, which can be used as a reference for distortion model design and ultimate strength test of large-scale ship structures.展开更多

Although R-factor analysis of data based on a population model comprising R- and Q-factors is possible, this may lead to model error. Accordingly, loading estimates resulting from R-factor analysis of sample data drawn from a population based on a combination of R- and Q-factors will be biased. It was shown in a simulation study that a large amount of Q-factor variance induces an increase in the variation of R-factor loading estimates beyond the chance level. Tests of the multivariate kurtosis of observed variables are proposed as an indicator of possible Q-factor variance in observed variables as a prerequisite for R-factor analysis.展开更多

文摘In the realm of engineering practice, various factors such as limited availability of measurement data and complex working conditions pose significant challenges to obtaining accurate load spectra. Thus, accurately predicting the fatigue life of structures becomes notably arduous. This paper proposed an approach to predict the fatigue life of structure based on the optimized load spectra, which is accurately estimated by an efficient hinging hyperplane neural network(EHH-NN)model.The construction of the EHH-NN model includes initial network generation and parameter optimization.Through the combination of working conditions design,multi-body dynamics analysis and structural static mechanics analysis, the simulated load spectra of the structure are obtained. The simulated load spectra are taken as the input variables for the optimized EHH-NN model, while the measurement load spectra are used as the output variables. The prediction results of case structure indicate that the optimized EHH-NN model can achieve the high-accuracy load spectra,in comparison with support vector machine(SVM),random forest(RF)model and back propagation(BP)neural network. The error rate between the prediction values and the measurement values of the optimized EHH-NN model is 4.61%.In the Cauchy-Lorentz distribution, the absolute error data of 92%with EHH-NN model appear in the intermediate range of±1.65%.Also,the fatigue life analysis is performed for the case structure, based on the accurately predicted load spectra. The fatigue life of the case structure is calculated based on the comparison between the measured and predicted load spectra, with an accuracy of 93.56%.This research proposes the optimized EHH-NN model can more accurately reflect the measurement load spectra, enabling precise calculation of fatigue life.Additionally, the optimized EHH-NN model provides reliability assessment for industrial engineering equipment.

文摘This work presents a novel approach to the dynamic response analysis of a Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a Winkler soil model and subjected to an impact loading. The approach considers that damping has much less importance in controlling the maximum response to impulsive loadings because the maximum response is reached in a very short time, before the damping forces can dissipate a significant portion of the energy input into the system. The development of two sine series solutions, relating to different types of impulsive loadings, one involving a single concentrated force and the other a distributed line load, are presented. This study revealed that when a simply supported Euler-Bernoulli beam, resting on a Winkler soil model,is subject to an impact load, the resulting vertical displacements, bending moments and shear forces produced along the span of the beam are considerably affected. In particular, the quantification of this effect is best observed, relative to the corresponding static solution, via an amplification factor. The computed impact amplification factors, for the sub-grade moduli used in this study, were in magnitude greater than 2,thus confirming the multiple-degree-of-freedom nature of the problem.
文摘For the ultimate strength model test evaluation of large ship structures, the distortion model with non-uniform ratio between the main size and the plate thickness size is usually adopted. For the model tests of ship cabin struc tures, it is suggested that the scale range between the plate thickness scale and the main dimension scale should be controlled within 2:1, which can be used as a reference for distortion model design and ultimate strength test of large-scale ship structures.

文摘High-speed railway bridges are subjected to normative limitations concerning maximum permissible deck accelerations. For the design of these structures, the European norm EN 1991-2 introduces the high-speed load model(HSLM)—a set of point loads intended to include the effects of existing high-speed trains.Yet,the evolution of current trains and the recent development of new load models motivate a discussion regarding the limits of validity of the HSLM.For this study,a large number of randomly generated load models of articulated, conventional, and regular trains are tested and compared with the envelope of HSLM effects. For each type of train, two sets of 100,000 load models are considered:one abiding by the limits of the EN 1991-2 and another considering wider limits. This comparison is achieved using both a bridge-independent metric(train signatures)and dynamic analyses on a case study bridge(the Canelas bridge of the Portuguese Railway Network). For the latter,a methodology to decrease the computational cost of moving loads analysis is introduced. Results show that some theoretical load models constructed within the stipulated limits of the norm can lead to effects not covered by the HSLM.This is especially noted in conventional trains, where there is a relation with larger distances between centres of adjacent vehicle bogies.

文摘Expanding photovoltaic(PV)resources in rural-grid areas is an essential means to augment the share of solar energy in the energy landscape, aligning with the“carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”objectives. However, rural power grids often lack digitalization;thus, the load distribution within these areas is not fully known. This hinders the calculation of the available PV capacity and deduction of node voltages. This study proposes a load-distribution modeling approach based on remote-sensing image recognition in pursuit of a scientific framework for developing distributed PV resources in rural grid areas.First, houses in remote-sensing images are accurately recognized using deep-learning techniques based on the YOLOv5 model. The distribution of the houses is then used to estimate the load distribution in the grid area.Next, equally spaced and clustered distribution models are used to adaptively determine the location of the nodes and load power in the distribution lines. Finally,by calculating the connectivity matrix of the nodes,a minimum spanning tree is extracted, the topology of the network is constructed, and the node parameters of the load-distribution model are calculated. The proposed scheme is implemented in a software package and its efficacy is demonstrated by analyzing typical remote-sensing images of rural grid areas. The results underscore the ability of the proposed approach to effectively discern the distribution-line structure and compute the node parameters, thereby offering vital support for determining PV access capability.

文摘The three-dimensional displacements caused by ocean loading effects are significant enough to impact spatial geodetic measurements on sub-daily or longer timescales, particularly in the vertical direction.Currently, most tide models incorporate the distribution of vertical displacement loading tides;however, their accuracy has not been assessed for the equatorial and Indian Ocean regions.Global Positioning System(GPS)observations provide high-precision data on sea-level changes, enabling the assessment of the accuracy and reliability of vertical displacement tide models. However, because the tidal period of the K_(2) constituent is almost identical to the orbital period of GPS constellations, the estimation of the K_(2) tidal constituent from GPS observations is not satisfactory. In this study, the principle of smoothness is employed to correct the systematic error in K_(2) estimates in GPS observations through quadratic fitting.Using the adjusted harmonic constants from 31 GPS stations for the equatorial and Indian Ocean, the accuracy of eight major constituents from five global vertical displacement tide models(FES2014,EOT11a,GOT4.10c,GOT4.8,and NAO.99b)is evaluated for the equatorial and Indian Ocean. The results indicate that the EOT11a and FES2014 models exhibit higher accuracy in the vertical displacement tide models for the equatorial and Indian Ocean, with root sum squares errors of 2.29 mm and 2.34 mm,res-pectively.Furthermore,a brief analysis of the vertical displacement tide distribution characteristics of the eight major constituents for the equatorial and Indian Ocean was conducted using the EOT11a model.

文摘Blades are essential components of wind turbines.Reducing their fatigue loads during operation helps to extend their lifespan, but it is difficult to quickly and accurately calculate the fatigue loads of blades. To solve this problem, this paper innovatively designs a data-driven blade load modeling method based on a deep learning framework through mechanism analysis, feature selection, and model construction. In the mechanism analysis part, the generation mechanism of blade loads and the load theoretical calculationmethod based on material damage theory are analyzed, and four measurable operating state parameters related to blade loads are screened;in the feature extraction part,15 characteristic indicators of each screened parameter are extracted in the time and frequency domain, and feature selection is completed through correlation analysis with blade loads to determine the input parameters of data-driven modeling;in the model construction part,a deep neural network based on feedforward and feedback propagation is designed to construct the nonlinear coupling relationship between the unit operating parameter characteristics and blade loads. The results show that the proposed method mines the wind turbine operating state characteristics highly correlated with the blade load, such as the standard deviation of wind speed. The model built using these characteristics has reasonable calculation and fitting capabilities for the blade load and shows a better fitting level for untrained out-of-sample data than the traditional scheme.Based on the mean absolute percentage error calculation, the modeling accuracy of the two blade loads can reach more than 90%and 80%,respectively,providing a good foundation for the subsequent optimization control to suppress the blade load.
文摘Effects of performing an R-factor analysis of observed variables based on population models comprising R- and Q-factors were investigated. Tests of the multivariate kurtosis of observed variables are proposed as an indicator of possible Q-factor variance in observed variables as a prerequisite for R-factor analysis.

文摘To examine the similarities and differences in the evolution of cavity, wetting and dynamics of a highspeed, oblique water-entry projectile with different positive angles of attack,a comparative analysis has been conducted based on the numerical results of two mathematical models, the rigid-body model and fluid-structure interaction model. In addition, the applicable scope of the above two methods, and the structural response characteristics of the projectile have also been investigated. Our results demonstrate that:(1) The impact loads and angular motion of the projectile of the rigid-body method are more likely to exhibit periodic variations due to the periodic tail slap, its range of positive angles of attack is about α<2°.(2) When the projectile undergone significant wetting,a strong coupling effect is observed among wetting, structural deformation, and projectile motion. With the applied projectile shape,it is observed that, when the projectile bends, the final wetting position is that of Part B(cylinder of body). With the occu rrence of this phenomenon, the projectile ballistics beco me completely unstable.(3) The force exerted on the lower surface of the projectile induced by wetting is the primary reason of the destabilization of the projectile traj ectory and structu ral deformation failure.Bending deformation is most likely to appear at the junction of Part C(cone of body) and Part D(tail). The safe angles of attack of the projectile stability are found to be about α≤2°.

文摘The girder end restraint devices such as bearings and dampers on long span suspension bridge will deteriorate over time. However,it is difficult to achieve the quantitative assessment of the performance of the restraint device through existing detection methods in actual inspections, making it difficult to obtain the impact of changes in the performance of the restraint device on the bridge structure. In this paper,a random vehicle load model is firstly established based on the WIM data of Jiangyin Bridge, and the displacement of girder end under the actual traffic flow is simulated by using finite element dynamic time history analysis. On this basis, according to the performance test data of the bearings and dampers, the performance degradation laws of the above two restraint devices are summarized, and the performance degradation process of the two restraint devices and the effects of different restraint parameters on the bridge structure are simulated. The results show that the performance degradation of the damper will significantly reduce the damping force at low speed, resulting in a significant increase in the cumulative displacement of the girder end;in the presence of longitudinal dampers, the increase in the friction coefficient caused by the deterioration of the bearing sliding plate has little effect on the cumulative displacement, but excessive wear of the bearing sliding plate adversely affects the structural dynamic performance.

文摘Control signaling is mandatory for the operation and management of all types of communication networks, including the Third Generation Partnership Project(3GPP)mobile broadband networks. However, they consume important and scarce network resources such as bandwidth and processing power. There have been several reports of these control signaling turning into signaling storms halting network operations and causing the respective Telecom companies big financial losses. This paper draws its motivation from such real network disaster incidents attributed to signaling storms. In this paper,we present a thorough survey of the causes,of the signaling storm problems in 3GPP-based mobile broadband networks and discuss in detail their possible solutions and countermeasures. We provide relevant analytical models to help quantify the effect of the potential causes and benefits of their corresponding solutions.Another important contribution of this paper is the comparison of the possible causes and solutions/countermeasures,concerning their effect on several important network aspects such as architecture, additional signaling, fidelity, etc.,in the form of a table. This paper presents an update and an extension of our earlier conference publication. To our knowledge,no similar survey study exists on the subject.
文摘Concrete materials are employed extensively in a variety of large-scale structures due to their economic viability and superior mechanical properties.During the service life of concrete structures, they are inevitably subjected to damage from impact loading from natural disasters, such as earthquakes and storms. In recent years, the phasefield model has demonstrated exceptional capability in predicting the stochastic initiation, propagation, and bifurcation of cracks in materials. This study employs a phase-field model to focus on the rate dependency and failure response of concrete under impact deformation.A viscosity coefficient is introduced within the phase-field model to characterize the viscous behavior of dynamic crack propagation in concrete. The rate-dependent cohesive strength is defined within the yield function of concrete, where the rate sensitivity of cohesive strength facilitates the accumulation of the plastic driving force in the phase-field model. This process effectively captures the impact failure response of concrete. The applicability of the model was validated through unit cell experiments and numerical simulations of concrete under impact compression.Furthermore, the mechanical response and damage evolution mechanisms of concrete under impact loading were analyzed. It was observed that crack propagation in concrete initiates at material defects and, with increasing load, eventually develops in a direction perpendicular to the loading axis.

文摘In order to solve the problems of low overload power in MEMS cantilever beams and low sensitivity in traditional MEMS fixed beams,a novel MEMS microwave power detection chip based on the dual-guided fixed beam is designed.A gap between guiding beams and measuring electrodes is designed to accelerate the release of the sacrificial layer, effectively enhanc-ing chip performance.A load sensing model for the MEMS fixed beam microwave power detection chip is proposed, and the mechanical characteristics are analyzed based on the uniform load applied. The overload power and sensitivity are investi-gated using the load sensing model, and experimental results are compared with theoretical results. The detection chip exhibits excellent microwave characteristic in the 9-11 GHz frequency band, with a return loss less than-10 dB.At a signal fre-quency of 10 GHz,the theoretical sensitivity is 13.8 fF/W,closely matching the measured value of 14.3 fF/W,with a relative error of only 3.5%.These results demonstrate that the proposed load sensing model provides significant theoretical support for the design and performance optimization of MEMS microwave power detection chips.
