Origami mechanisms are extensively employed in various engineering applications due to their exceptional folding performance and deformability.The key to designing origami mechanisms lies in the design of the creases....Origami mechanisms are extensively employed in various engineering applications due to their exceptional folding performance and deformability.The key to designing origami mechanisms lies in the design of the creases.The crease design is often derived from experience and inspiration,so it is crucial to have a systematic approach to crease design.In this paper,a novel synthesis approach based on graph theory is proposed,which effectively addresses the challenge of designing the creases in origami mechanisms.The essence of this method lies in the acquisition of the double symmetrical crease pattern through the directed graph product operation of two subgraphs.The crease pattern can be simplified by employing a technique that eliminates certain creases while preserving the non-isomorphism and symmetry of the pattern.An improved mixed-integer linear programming model is developed to achieve an automatic distribution of the peak_valley creases of the origami.The proposed method ultimately generates 12 unique double symmetrical crease patterns.The new method proposed in this paper,through systematic design,significantly improves the efficiency of mechanism design while opening up broad prospects for exploring new mechanism structures,thereby greatly expanding its application potential in cutting-edge fields such as aerospace engineering and intelligent robots.展开更多

BACKGROUND The auricle,or auricula,defines the visible boundaries of the external ear and is essential in forensic investigations,including facial reconstruction and human remains identification.Beyond its forensic si...BACKGROUND The auricle,or auricula,defines the visible boundaries of the external ear and is essential in forensic investigations,including facial reconstruction and human remains identification.Beyond its forensic significance,auricular morphology attracts interest from various fields,such as medicine and industry.The size of the ears is culturally associated with health and longevity,while surgical techniques for ear reconstruction address both congenital and aesthetic concerns.AIM To determine whether known correlations with various measurements and observations regarding sex and age could also be established through computed tomography(CT).METHODS Computed tomography scans of the head from 342 females and 329 males aged 18 to 97 years(mean=60±19 years)were included in this study.Different auricular lengths,widths and perimeters were measured for both sides.Additionally,the preauricular area was assessed using three-dimensional volume rendering tech-nique images.RESULTS The measured auricular dimensions in centimeters are presented as mean values(right/left)for males(length 16.91±0.51/6.93±0.52;length 22.83±0.35/2.84±0.34;width 13.94±0.32/4.01±0.36;width 23.51±0.34/3.46±0.31;perimeter 17.66±1.25/17.71±1.28)and females(length 16.44±0.5/6.48±0.51;length 22.7±0.32/2.71±0.33;width 13.6±0.32/3.68±0.31;width 23.3±0.3/3.26±0.27;perimeter 16.36±1.2/16.46±1.2).A positive correlation with age was shown in all measurements,with the highest value for perimeter in both,males(r-value:right/left:0.49/0.47)and females(r-value:right/left:0.53/0.53).After confounding factors were excluded,the preauricular vertical line was first seen at 45 years.The mean age for males with preauricular vertical lines was 66.65±10.92 years(95%CI:63.99-69.3),while without vertical lines,it was 44.48±16.15 years(95%CI:41.21-47.74);for females,it was 70.18±12.44 years(95%CI:68.9-71.46)with and 47.87±17.09 years(95%CI:45.96-49.78)without vertical lines.CONCLUSION In this study,we pioneered the use of CT volumetric data to examine human auricle morphology and we achieved a precise 3D(pre-)auricular assessment.Sex-specific positive correlations between ear dimensions and age,as well as the mean age for the appearance of preauricular lines,were identified,providing valuable insights into the capabilities of modern CT devices.展开更多

The results show that ED GE reacts with silk fibroin and forms cross linkages through ether bond. The formation of cross linking was examined by FITR spectroscopy, soluble time in acid solution and changes of amino acids. Handle of treated silk with catalyst WSH is better than that of silk treated with the traditional catalysts such as thiosulfates and thiocyanates. Finishing technique, physical properties of the finished silk fabrics and evaluation of cross linkages are discussed.展开更多

The crease is considered by introducing the residual stresses from ...Wrinkling analysis of a rectangular membrane with a single crease under shearing is performed to understand the wrinkle-crease interaction behaviors. The crease is considered by introducing the residual stresses from creasing and the effective modulus into the baseline configuration with assumed circular cross-sectional crease geometry. The wrinkling analysis of the creased membrane is then performed by using the direct perturb-force (DP) simulation technique which is based on our modified displacement components (MDC) method. Results reveal that the crease may influence the stress transfer path in the membrane and further change the wrinkling direction. The crease appears to improve the bending stiffness of the membrane which has an effective resistance on the wrinkling evolution. The effects of the crease orientation on wrinkle-crease interaction are studied toward the end of this paper. The results show that the wrinkling amplitude, wavelength, and direction increase as the crease orientation increases, and the wrinkling number decreases with the increasing crease orientation. These results will be of great benefit to the analysis and the control of the wrinkles in the membrane structures.展开更多

METHOD: The study was conducted on twenty-eight health...AIM: The hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects of the methanol extract of Brassica oleracea var. capitata(MEB) was evaluated in alloxan-induced diabetic rabbits. METHOD: The study was conducted on twenty-eight healthy white rabbits of either sex. All animals were equally divided into four groups. After confirmation of hyperglycemia, the animals of the treated and standard groups were administered MEB(500 mg·kg-1) and glibenclamide(10 mg·kg-1), respectively for 15 and 30 days. The animals of the normal and diabetic controls received normal saline 1 mL/day equivalent to the volume of doses given to the test and standard animals. Biochemical tests were performed at the end of dosing, i.e. the 16 th and 31 st days. RESULTS: The MEB revealed a decrease of 106.6 mg·dL-1 in fasting blood glucose as compared to diabetic control, which was almost comparable to glibenclamide; both of these changes were highly significant. The decrease in total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein was 94.3 and 96.5 mg·dL-1, respectively, whereas the high-density lipoprotein was increased by 26.7 mg·dL-1, as compared to diabetic control. All of the changes in lipid profile were statistically significant. CONCLUSION: These results suggest the potential of MEB as a hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic agent.展开更多

The animals of the normal and diabetic controls received normal saline 1 mL/day equivalent to the volume of doses given to the test and standard animals. Biochemical tests were performed at the end of dosing, i.e. the 16 th and 31 st days. RESULTS: The MEB revealed a decrease of 106.6 mg·dL-1 in fasting blood glucose as compared to diabetic control, which was almost comparable to glibenclamide; both of these changes were highly significant. The decrease in total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein was 94.3 and 96.5 mg·dL-1, respectively, whereas the high-density lipoprotein was increased by 26.7 mg·dL-1, as compared to diabetic control. All of the changes in lipid profile were statistically significant. CONCLUSION: These results suggest the potential of MEB as a hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic agent.

文摘Effects of digital acupressure on the blood flowin the capillary arterioles of the cerebral pia matercovering the posterior sigmoidal gyrus in domesticdog(Canis familiaris)were observed.The speed ofblood flow was found increased to 185% after con-tinuous digital acupressure for 20 minutes.The in-crease was most prominent 15 minutes after the acu-pressure was completed;the effect subsided in 30minutes.It was also found that in cases of low basalspeed of flow before digital acupressure,the increasein the speed of blood flow after acupressure was morepronounced.

文摘The present study was aimed at the investigation of the ultrastructuralchanges of nucleus centromedianus(CM)of nuclei intralaminares under acupuncture analge-sia.The results of the observations on 18 healthy and adult rats were as follows.1.Thesynapses of the CM belong mainly to the axodendricular synapses and also with some suc-cessive or juxtaposing synapses.2.The presynaptic sac contains a lot of round and clearvesicles,some granular vesicles also spread among clear vesicles in a few synapses.3.Theround clear synaptic vesicles of CM in the electroacupuncture analgesia(EA)group are de-creased significantly than that in the control group.It is suggested that CM plays a role inacupuncture analgesia.
