The microstructures of solidified samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results reveal that a representative liquid phase separation microstructures are observed in Cu75Cr25 ribbons solidified at a cooling rate of about 104K/s. The liquid phase separation is not restrained when the cooling rate is enhanced to about 107K/s. However, the size of Cr particles solidified from Cr-rich liquid or Cr-rich regions in alloy melts could be refined by increasing the cooling rates. The size of Cr particles increases with increasing Cr contents when the ribbons contain 15% to 35%Cr.展开更多

The results show that the alloy is composed of three phases, where the phase with the largest copper and lowest chromium content forms the matrix, while the other two, much richer in chromium, form a dispersion of isolated particles. At variance with another three-phase Cu-20Ni-20Cr alloy, which forms complex scales containing the oxides of the various components and double oxides plus an irregular region composed of alloy and oxides, the present alloy can form a very irregular but continuous chromia layer at the base of the mixed internal region, producing a gradual decrease of the oxidation rate down to very low values. A larger chromium content needed to form chromia layer for a ternary three-phase alloy is attributed to the limitations to the diffusion of the alloy components in the metal substrate imposed by their multiphase nature.展开更多

During pre-ageing at 873 K, DO22 phases first appear through spinodal decomposition mechanism, and then L12 phases begin to form on the DO22 phase-boundaries through non-classical nucleation mechanism. In either of them, ordering process is obviously faster than atom clustering. At the late stage of re-ageing at 923 K, the elastic strain energy seems to exert stronger effects on microstructure, and DO22 and L12 phases exhibit directional alignment along 〈100〉 direction to a certain extent. When the temperature increases to 1 023 K, the influence of elastic strain energy begins to weaken, and the precipitated phases become randomly distributed in the matrix. The volume fraction of DO22 phase decreases to zero, whereas that of L12 phase first increases and then decreases with the temperature rising from 923 K to 1 123 K. On the whole, the effects of elastic strain energy make the coarsening behavior of both phases deviate from the time-law predictions by LSW diffusion-controlled growth theory.展开更多

The two PM alloys oxidized very slowly and formed only external Cr 2O 3 scales rather than undergoing an internal oxidation of chromium. This result is attributed mainly to a supply of chromium from the small Cr rich particles dispersed within the Cu rich phase. The oxidation kinetics of the two PM Cu Cr alloys approximately followed the parabolic rate law. The scaling rates are of the same order as those measured for pure chromium under the same oxygen pressure, but smaller than those for the alloys of similar composition prepared by normal arc melting techniques, whose compositions were largely non uniform. The results are interpreted in terms of the two phase nature of these alloys.展开更多

The results reveal that chromium content has critical significance to the oxidation resistance of the alloys. The scaling rates of the alloys with less than 21% Cr are higher than those measured for pure titanium, but for the alloys with more than 26% Cr their scaling rate is lowered by 1~2 times, under the same oxidizing conditions. Both an external and an internal oxidation layers were observed. The oxidation resistance enhancement by chromium alloying is contributed to the formation of a continuous and compact chromic oxide interleaf in the scale. Oxidation temperature significantly affects the scaling rates of Ti Cr alloys, and the mass gain is doubled with a temperature change from 650?℃ to 700?℃ or from 700?℃ to 780?℃, for the same exposure duration. TiCr 2 shows no negative influence on the high temperature oxidation resistance of the alloys.展开更多

The alloys are being developed for high texture applications in aggressive environments. The database will aid the design of alloys by enabling the calculation of the composition and proportions of phases present in alloys of different compositions. In order to extend this database, a preliminary assessment of the Cr-Pt-Ru system has been undertaken, using a combination of Pandat and MTDATA software. As a first step, it was necessary to provide thermodynamic models for the three associated binary systems. Owing to a lack of thermodynamic information for these systems, the binary assessments were based on phase diagrams available in the literature. Using recent experimental phase equilibria data for the ternary system, a preliminary assessment of the Cr-Pt-Ru system has been produced. In this preliminary assessment, simplified models were employed for the L12 and sigma phases with a view to extending the descriptions as new experimental information becomes available.展开更多

文摘Simulations are performed on temporal evolution of atom morphology and ordering parameters of Ni-14.5 Cr-16.5 Al alloy during early precipitation process at different temperatures based on microscopic phase-field theory; the relationship between precipitation sequence and mechanism of L12 and D022 structure and precipitation temperature are illuminated. The nonstoichiometric ordered L12 phases appear first with congruent ordering+spinodal decomposition mechanism which is then followed by precipitation of D022 phases at ordering domain boundaries of L12 phases by spinodal decomposition mechanism at 1073 K and 1223 K. The nonstoichiometric L12 phases transform to stoichiometric ordering phases gradually. The incubation period of L12 and D022 phases is shorter at 1073 K than that 1223 K, and growth speed is higher at 1073 K. At 1373 K, L12 and D022 phases appear simultaneously by non-classical nucleation and growth mechanism. After that the particles of D022 phases diminish and disappear gradually; L12 phases grow and single L12 phases are remained at last.

文摘The pseudo-equilibrium phase diagram and continuous cooling transformation diagram of an N-containing 8% Cr roller steel were investigated by using thermodynamic calculation, differential scanning calorimetry,Ⅹ-ray diffraction, expansion method, and so on.Under equilibrium conditions, the main carbonitrides are MX,M7C3,and M23C6 types. The measured Ac1,Ac3,start temperature of martensitic transformation, and M7C3 transformation temperatures are 811,855,324,and 1100 ℃,respectively.Bainite appears at cooling rates ranging from 0.5 to 5 ℃/s and ferrite forms at grain boundaries at a cooling rate lower than 0.5 ℃/s.Finally,the effects of adding N and lowering the C content on workability and mechanical properties of common 8%Cr steel were discussed.

文摘Work has been ongoing in building a thermodynamic database for the prediction of phase equilibria in Pt-based superalloys. In this preliminary assessment, simplified models were employed for the L12 and sigma phases with a view to extending the descriptions as new experimental information becomes available.
文摘Geometrical Close Packed (GCP) phase in Fe Cr Ni alloy was quantitatively isolated and precisely determined when electrolyzed in 10 % H 3PO 4 electrolyte at a low current density of 5 mA/cm 2 and 22 ℃±1 ℃. The transpassive dissolution potential of the alloy matrix under above conditions is about 1 140 mV (SCE), at which GCP phase is in passive state and can be isolated from the alloy.[WT5”HZ〗
