Building on recent experimental advancements, we propose the generation of synthetic gauge fields, and by including exotic vortex phases within spinor Bose-Einstein condensates, employing a combination of a running wave and Laguerre-Gaussian laser fields. We investigate the ground-state characteristics of the SOAMC condensate, revealing the emergence of exotic vortex states with controllable orbital angular momenta. It is shown that the interplay of the SOAMC and conventional spin-linear-momentum coupling induced by the running wave beam leads to the formation of a vortex state exhibiting a phase stripe hosting single multiply quantized singularity. The phase of the ground state will undergo the phase transition corresponding to the breaking of rotational symmetry while preserving the mirror symmetry. Importantly, the observed density distribution of the ground-state wavefunction, exhibiting broken rotational symmetry, can be well characterized by the synthetic magnetic field generated through light interaction with the dressed spin state. Our findings pave the way for further exploration into the rotational properties of stable exotic vortices with higher orbital angular momenta against splitting in the presence of synthetic gauge fields in ultracold quantum gases.展开更多

文摘This study employed a computational fluid dynamics model with an overset mesh technique to investigate the thrust and power of a floating offshore wind turbine(FOWT)under platform floating motion in the wind–rain field. The impact of rainfall on aerodynamic performance was initially examined using a stationary turbine model in both wind and wind–rain conditions.Subsequently, the study compared the FOWT’s performance under various single degree-of-freedom(DOF)motions,including surge, pitch, heave, and yaw. Finally, the combined effects of wind–rain fields and platform motions involving two DOFs on the FOWT’s aerodynamics were analyzed and compared. The results demonstrate that rain negatively impacts the aerodynamic performance of both the stationary turbines and FOWTs.Pitch-dominated motions, whether involving single or multiple DOFs,caused significant fluctuations in the FOWT aerodynamics. The combination of surge and pitch motions created the most challenging operational environment for the FOWT in all tested scenarios. These findings highlighted the need for stronger construction materials and greater ultimate bearing capacity for FOWTs,as well as the importance of optimizing designs to mitigate excessive pitch and surge.

文摘With the continuous upgrading of traditional manufacturing industries and the rapid rise of emerging technology fields, the performance requirements for the permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSMs)have become higher and higher. The importance of fast and accurate electromagnetic thermal coupling analysis of such motors becomes more and more prominent. In view of this, the surfacemounted PMSM(SPMSM)equipped with unequally thick magnetic poles is taken as the main object and its electromagnetic thermal coupling analytical model(ETc AM)is investigated.First, the electromagnetic analytical model(EAM)is studied based on the modified subdomain method. It realizes the fast calculation of key electromagnetic characteristics.Subsequently, the 3D thermal analytical model(TAM)is developed by combining the EAM,the lumped parameter thermal network method(LPTNM),and the partial differential equation of heat flux.It realizes the fast calculation of key thermal characteristics in 3D space.Further, the information transfer channel between EAM and TAM is built with reference to the intrinsic connection between electromagnetic field and temperature field.Thereby, the novel ETcAM is proposed to realize the fast and accurate prediction of electromagnetic and temperature fields.Besides,ETcAM has a lot to commend it.One is that it well accounts for the complex structure, saturation, and heat exchange behavior.Second,it saves a lot of computer resources. It offers boundless possibilities for initial design, scheme evaluation, and optimization of motors. Finally, the validity, accuracy, and practicality of this study are verified by simulation and experiment.

文摘Besides equilibrium behavior, exploring the spin–phonon coupling in multiferroic materials under non-equilibrium conditions is crucial for a deep understanding of the mechanisms as well as their high-frequency applications. Here,by utilizing time-resolved refectance spectroscopy,we demonstrate ultrafast spin–phonon coupling dynamics in multiferroic 0.58BiFeO_(3)-0.42Bi_(0.5)K_(0.5)TiO_(3)(BF-BKT)single crystals. With ultrafast laser pumping, coherent acoustic phonons with low damping are created in BF-BKT.Temperature-dependent results indicate that both the frequency and amplitude of laser-induced coherent phonons are sensitive to the emergence of antiferromagnetic order. Moreover, the spin state change driven by external magnetic felds can enhance the oscillation amplitude of the coherent acoustic phonons even above the magnetic Néel temperature. These fndings experimentally confrm that spin–phonon coupling in multiferroic materials exists not only in the spin-ordered state but also in the spin-disordered state, and not only in the equilibrium state but also in the non-equilibrium state excited by ultrafast lasers, suggesting their promising applications in high-frequency devices.
文摘Magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)induction pumps are contactless pumps able to withstand harsh environments. The rate of fluid flow through the pump directly affects the efficiency and stability of the device. To explore the influence of induction pump settings on the related delivery speed,in this study,a numerical model for coupled electromagnetic and flow field effects is introduced and used to simulate liquid metal lithium flow in the induction pump. The effects of current intensity, frequency, coil turns and coil winding size on the velocity of the working fluid are analyzed. It is shown that the first three parameters have a significant impact, while changes in the coil turns have a negligible influence. The maximum increase in working fluid velocity within the pump for the parameter combination investigated in this paper is approximately 618%.As the frequency is increased from 20 to 60 Hz,the maximum increase in the mean flow rate of the working fluid is approximately 241%.These research findings are intended to support the design and optimization of these devices.

文摘This paper analyzes the sources of heat losses in magnetic fluid bearings, proposes various cou-pling relationships of physical fields, divides the coupled heat transfer surfaces while ensuring the continuity of heat flux density, and analyzes the overall heat dissipation pathways of the bearings.By changing parameters such as input current, rotor speed, and inlet oil flow rate, the study applies a multi-physics field coupling method to investigate the influence of different parameters on the temper-ature field and heat dissipation patterns of the bearings, which is then validated through experi-ments.This research provides a theoretical basis for the optimal design of magnetic fluid bearing sys-tems.

文摘Ultracold atoms endowed with tunable spin-orbital-angular-momentum coupling(SOAMC)represent a promising avenue for delving into exotic quantum phenomena. Our findings pave the way for further exploration into the rotational properties of stable exotic vortices with higher orbital angular momenta against splitting in the presence of synthetic gauge fields in ultracold quantum gases.

文摘Natural fractures(NFs)are common in shale and tight reservoirs, where staged multi-cluster fracturing of horizontal wells is a prevalent technique for reservoir stimulation. While NFs and stress interference are recognized as significant factors affecting hydraulic fracture(HF)propagation, the combined influence of these factors remains poorly understood. To address this knowledge gap,a novel coupled hydromechanical-damage(HMD)model based on the phase field method is developed to investigate the propagation of multi-cluster HFs in fractured reservoirs. The comprehensive energy functional and control functions are established, while incorporating dynamic fluid distribution between multiple perforation clusters and refined changes in rock mechanical parameters during hydraulic fracturing. The HMD coupled multi-cluster HF propagation model investigates various scenarios, including single HF and single NF,reservoir heterogeneity, single HF and NF clusters, and multi-cluster HFs with NF clusters. The results show that the HMD coupling model can accurately capture the impact of approach angle(θ),stress difference and cementation strength on the interaction of HF and NF.The criterion of the open and cross zones is not fixed. The NF angle(a)is not a decisive parameter to discriminate the interaction.According to the relationship between approach angle(θ)and NF angle(a),the contact relationship of HF can be divided into three categories(θ=a,θ<a,andθ>a).The connected NF can increase the complexity of HF by inducing it to form branch fracture, resulting in a fractal dimension of HF as high as2.1280 at angles of±45°.Inter-fracture interference from the heel to the toe of HF shows the phenomenon of no,strong and weak interference.Interestingly, under the influence of NFs,distant HFs from the injection can become dominant fractures. However,as a gradually increases,inter-fracture stress interference becomes the primary factor influencing HF propagation, gradually superseding the dominance of NF induced fractures.

文摘This paper presents a method for measuring stress fields within the framework of coupled data models, aimed at determining stress fields in isotropic material structures exhibiting localized deterioration behavior without relying on constitutive equations in the deteriorated region. This approach contributes to advancing the field of intrinsic equation-free mechanics. The methodology combines measured strain fields with data-model coupling driven algorithms. The gradient and Canny operators are utilized to process the strain field data, enabling the determination of the deterioration region's location.Meanwhile,an adaptive model building method is proposed for constructing coupling driven models. To address the issue of unknown datasets during computation,a dataset updating strategy based on a differential evolutionary algorithm is introduced. The resulting optimal dataset is then used to generate stress field results.Validation against finite element method calculations demonstrates the accuracy of the proposed method in obtaining full-field stresses in specimens with local degradation behavior.

文摘Purpose:We analyzed the structure of a community of authors working in the field of social network analysis(SNA)based on citation indicators:direct citation and bibliographic coupling metrics. We observed patterns at the micro, meso, and macro levels of analysis.Design/methodology/approach:We used bibliometric network analysis, including the“temporal quantities”approach proposed to study temporal networks.Using a two-mode network linking publications with authors and a one-mode network of citations between the works,we constructed and analyzed the networks of citation and bibliographic coupling among authors. We used an iterated saturation data collection approach.Findings:At the macro-level,we observed the global structural features of citations between authors, showing that 80%of authors have not more than 15 citations from other works. At the meso-level,we extracted the groups of authors citing each other and similar to each other according to their citation patterns. We have seen a division of authors in SNA into groups of social scientists and physicists,as well as into other groups of authors from different disciplines. We found some examples of brokerage between different groups that maintained the common identity of the field. At the micro-level,we extracted authors with extremely high values of received citations, who can be considered as the most prominent authors in the field. We examined the temporal properties of the most popular authors.Research limitations:The main challenge in this approach is the resolution of the author’s name(synonyms and homonyms). We faced the author disambiguation,or“multiple personalities”(Harzing,2015)problem.To remain consistent and comparable with our previously published articles,we used the same SNA data collected up to 2018.The analysis and conclusions on the activity, productivity, and visibility of the authors are relative only to the field of SNA.Practical implications:The proposed approach can be utilized for similar objectives and identifying key structures and characteristics in other disciplines. This may potentially inspire the application of network approaches in other research areas, creating more authors collaborating in the field of SNA.Originality/value:We identified and applied an innovative approach and methods to study the structure of scientific communities, which allowed us to get the findings going beyond those obtained with other methods. We used a new approach to temporal network analysis, which is an important addition to the analysis as it provides detailed information on different measures for the authors and pairs of authors over time.

文摘This study presents a new method to solve the difficult problem of precise machining a non-cylinder pinhole of a piston using embedded giant magnetostrictive material (GMM) in the component. We propose the finite element model of GMM smart component in electric, magnetic, and mechanical fields by step computation to optimize the design of GMM smart com-ponent. The proposed model is implemented by using COMSOL multi-physics V3.2a. The effects of the smart component on the deformation and the system resonance frequencies are studied. The results calculated by the model are in excellent agreement (relative errors are below 10%) with the experimental values.
