Integrating local cultural resources into language teaching is a significant trend in fostering students’core competencies.This study addresses the challenge of effectively implementing China’s educational policy of...Integrating local cultural resources into language teaching is a significant trend in fostering students’core competencies.This study addresses the challenge of effectively implementing China’s educational policy of“Core Competencies for English as a Subject”in middle school classrooms by leveraging the unique revolutionary(“Red”)culture of Tangshan City.The research developed and tested a pedagogical model that utilizes Tangshan’s rich Red Culture heritage-such as the Kailuan Miners’Movement and the Xifengkou Great Wall Resistance relics-as authentic content for English language learning.Employing a mixed-methods approach,including literature review,fieldwork,action research,and case analysis in partner middle schools,the project involved designing thematic teaching resources(e.g.,lesson plans,micro-lectures)and implementing interactive activities like role-playing and project-based learning.Findings indicate that this localized approach significantly enhanced students’engagement,cultural awareness,critical thinking,and language application skills,effectively addressing the four dimensions of English core competencies:language ability,cultural awareness,thinking capacity,and learning ability.The study concludes that the“Local Culture-Integrated Core Competency Model”provides a practical,replicable framework for synergizing values education with language acquisition.It offers valuable insights for educators worldwide seeking to incorporate local history and values into foreign language curricula,promoting deeper contextual learning.展开更多

This study investigates and explores the teaching of higher vocational English courses for non-English majors from the perspective of core competencies.First,it outlines the current research status of core competencie...This study investigates and explores the teaching of higher vocational English courses for non-English majors from the perspective of core competencies.First,it outlines the current research status of core competencies and analyzes the national-level requirements for English core competencies.Subsequently,based on professional training objectives and curriculum standards,a questionnaire on the core competencies of English courses has been designed to understand students’perceptions and experiences regarding the development of their competencies in areas such as workplace communication,cross-cultural exchange,language thinking enhancement,and autonomous learning improvement.The survey results showed that the majority of students had a positive attitude towards the effectiveness of English courses in cultivating the aforementioned core competencies.However,some students also suggest improvements,such as increasing practical opportunities and strengthening cultural exchange.Based on this,the study further explores how to integrate the cultivation of core competencies into classroom teaching,including the use of a combination of formative and summative assessments,the design of teaching content and activities related to the workplace and cross-cultural communication,and the guidance of students to actively explore and apply their knowledge,thereby enhancing their English language application abilities.This study has certain reference value for the optimization of the higher vocational English curriculum system and the reform of teaching methods.展开更多

Background:The backup nurses are created to meet emergencies in the case of inadequate nursing staff and emergency circumstances,and there are no clear definitions of the core competencies for training and evaluation ...Background:The backup nurses are created to meet emergencies in the case of inadequate nursing staff and emergency circumstances,and there are no clear definitions of the core competencies for training and evaluation of backup nurses in the acute care hospitals in China.Methods:This study used a modified Delphi process where an initial list of potential competencies is established following a framework of training need analysis(TNA),literature review,and focus groups.This process generated as a list of 47 core competencies,which is presented to an expert panel(n=20)for consideration in two rounds.Results:As determined by the survey,a combination of 26 core competencies in three specified categories is identified:professional practice ability,critical thinking ability,and interpersonal skills.A total of 154.99 h is required to complete all 26 core competencies,and each item has a corresponding evaluation method.Conclusions:The core competencies provide a scientific basis for the hospital nursing managers to train and evaluate backup nurses,and it may ensure consistency in standards across the country.展开更多

This study empirically explored how the five key input factors in higher education affect the value added in college students’core competencies in the era of artificial intelligence(AI),utilizing data from a 2019 gra...This study empirically explored how the five key input factors in higher education affect the value added in college students’core competencies in the era of artificial intelligence(AI),utilizing data from a 2019 graduate employment sample survey focusing on value-added contributions.The findings were summarized as follows:(1)A convergence phenomenon was observed in developing core competencies within Chinese higher education,where students from regular undergraduate universities,despite having moderate academic advantages,exhibited weaker value-added growth across multiple core competencies.(2)Higher education institutions(HEIs)continued to serve as the primary platform for cultivating students’core competencies,with curriculum delivery being the most significant practical factor in shaping these competencies.Interdisciplinary courses strongly contributed to higher-order core competencies such as innovation and creativity.(3)The contribution of input factors to different core competencies varied significantly across HEIs.Although institutions under the Double First-Class Initiative appeared to have lower net contributions compared to higher vocational colleges,this gap was offset by their students’more advantageous individual endowments and family backgrounds.This study suggests reforms in classified management and evaluation systems,curriculum design,and faculty and teaching to ensure students acquire the higher-order thinking skills and competencies necessary to adapt to emerging technologies and effectively respond to continuous changes.展开更多

Objective： The aim of this project was to train highly professional and specialized nursing students from medical colleges to adapt to bedside clinical care by exploring and discussing various methods of injection an...Objective： The aim of this project was to train highly professional and specialized nursing students from medical colleges to adapt to bedside clinical care by exploring and discussing various methods of injection and IV infusion in animal experimentation to hone the core professional nursing competencies. Methods： Two classes from the 2012 senior graduating nursing class were randomly selected by a computer to conduct the diversified practical teaching methods based on animal experimentation. A hospital environment was simulated by requiring students to perform different types of injections and practical IV infusion techniques. A comprehensive evaluation of the core professional competencies, as well as other integrated competencies, was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the teaching methods. Results： Two-sampled, pairwise u-tests were performed between the scores of the experimental （nursing class 2） and control （nursing class 1） groups. These findings showed that the overall test scores were significantly higher in the experimental group compared to the control group and that the average P-values for the competencies in various categories were 〈0.01, which indicated statistically significant results. Conclusions： Based on the data from this project, diversified teaching methods for basic nursing training founded on animal experimentation can help nursing students perfect their core professional competencies and improve their overall professional standing. The introduction of animal experimentation requires further verification, and an increased acknowledgement of its benefits through the widespread dissemination of this information.展开更多

Introduction:Nurse specialists are being cultivated and trained in China to cope with the international development of nursing discipline.However,an empirical summary and reviews of literature have shown a lack of cor...Introduction:Nurse specialists are being cultivated and trained in China to cope with the international development of nursing discipline.However,an empirical summary and reviews of literature have shown a lack of core competence evaluation standards for emergency nurse specialists(ENSs)in China.ENS training has been conducted in several regions without any effective competence evaluation standards.This paper describes the development and psychometric testing of the Core Competence Evaluation Standards for Emergency Nurse Specialists(CCESENS)in the Chinese context.Methods:Several rigorous research methods were applied.The proposed evaluation process consisted of two phases with seven steps.First,the Core Competence Framework Model for Emergency Nurse Specialist(CCFMENS)was established,and 118 items were generated through a review of literature,theoretical analysis,and expert interviews.Drafts of the dimensions and items were evaluated by two-round Delphi methods.Analysis hierarchy process was used to determine the weight of each dimension.Second,field testing was performed among 138 senior emergency nurses.Internal consistency and correlation analysis were applied to test the reliability and validity of the model.Results:The CCESENS consisted of five first-level dimensions,16 second-level dimensions,and 55 items.Cronbach's a coefficient of overall standards was 0.972,and each dimension ranged from 0.508 to 0.972.Expert content validity index was 0.818,and the correlation coefficients of the five first-level dimensions with the overall standards CCESENS ranged from 0.701 to 0.886(P<0.05).Discussion:The CCESENS demonstrated sound internal consistency reliability,content validity,and construct validity.The proposed standard provides an objective standard and reference for assessing,training,and evaluating core competence of ENS.展开更多

文摘Against the backdrop of artificial intelligence reshaping the educational ecology,primary school mathematics is transforming from knowledge transmission to competency cultivation,and interdisciplinary teaching guided by core competencies has become a core issue of educational reform.Taking“Tessellation”from the Beijing Normal University Edition textbook as the carrier,this paper builds a threefold AI empowerment path of“intelligent scenario creation-dynamic inquiry support-diversified evaluation optimization”based on traditional hands-on practice,so as to realize the coordinated development of mathematical core competencies and digital literacy.Classroom practice verification shows that this path enables students to master the principles of tessellation and carry out interdisciplinary innovative design,effectively breaking through the bottlenecks of limited spatial imagination and fragmented disciplinary integration in traditional teaching,and providing a replicable innovative paradigm for primary school mathematics interdisciplinary teaching.

文摘Under the background of the new era,vocational education has ushered in a strategic opportunity period for high-quality development.As the core position for cultivating technical and skilled talents,the quality of talent cultivation in higher vocational colleges is directly related to industrial upgrading and social development.Student cadres,as the backbone of college student groups,are not only the bridge between teachers and students but also important participants in campus governance and cultural construction.In view of this,this paper analyzes the core competencies of college student leadership teams in the new era,conducts research combined with Nanchong Vocational College of Culture and Tourism,and puts forward strategies for cultivating and enhancing the core competencies of college student leadership teams in the new era,starting from the current problems.

文摘This study empirically explored how the five key input factors in higher education affect the value added in college students’core competencies in the era of artificial intelligence(AI),utilizing data from a 2019 graduate employment sample survey focusing on value-added contributions.The findings were summarized as follows:(1)A convergence phenomenon was observed in developing core competencies within Chinese higher education,where students from regular undergraduate universities,despite having moderate academic advantages,exhibited weaker value-added growth across multiple core competencies.(2)Higher education institutions(HEIs)continued to serve as the primary platform for cultivating students’core competencies,with curriculum delivery being the most significant practical factor in shaping these competencies.Interdisciplinary courses strongly contributed to higher-order core competencies such as innovation and creativity.(3)The contribution of input factors to different core competencies varied significantly across HEIs.Although institutions under the Double First-Class Initiative appeared to have lower net contributions compared to higher vocational colleges,this gap was offset by their students’more advantageous individual endowments and family backgrounds.This study suggests reforms in classified management and evaluation systems,curriculum design,and faculty and teaching to ensure students acquire the higher-order thinking skills and competencies necessary to adapt to emerging technologies and effectively respond to continuous changes.
文摘Within contemporary healthcare systems, professional identity among specialized nurses serves as a pivotal intrinsic factor influencing the development of their core competencies. This review synthesizes existing research, revealing that professional identity positively impacts the development of core competencies through multiple pathways, including psychological drive, behavioral facilitation, teamwork, and career stability. Building on this analysis, this paper proposes systematic enhancement strategies from four dimensions: education and training, organizational environment, cultural development, and individual growth, aiming to provide a reference for nursing practice and professional development.

文摘Objective： The aim of this project was to train highly professional and specialized nursing students from medical colleges to adapt to bedside clinical care by exploring and discussing various methods of injection and IV infusion in animal experimentation to hone the core professional nursing competencies. Methods： Two classes from the 2012 senior graduating nursing class were randomly selected by a computer to conduct the diversified practical teaching methods based on animal experimentation. A hospital environment was simulated by requiring students to perform different types of injections and practical IV infusion techniques. A comprehensive evaluation of the core professional competencies, as well as other integrated competencies, was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the teaching methods. Results： Two-sampled, pairwise u-tests were performed between the scores of the experimental （nursing class 2） and control （nursing class 1） groups. These findings showed that the overall test scores were significantly higher in the experimental group compared to the control group and that the average P-values for the competencies in various categories were 〈0.01, which indicated statistically significant results. Conclusions： Based on the data from this project, diversified teaching methods for basic nursing training founded on animal experimentation can help nursing students perfect their core professional competencies and improve their overall professional standing. The introduction of animal experimentation requires further verification, and an increased acknowledgement of its benefits through the widespread dissemination of this information.
文摘This study aimed to explore university students’perceptions on the possession of core competencies for the 21st century.A crosssectional survey research using a self-report questionnaire involving 40 Likert-type items was used to collect data from 5,042 university students in China who voluntarily participated.Analysis with Rasch rating scale model found the data fitted the Rasch model well.The results showed that Chinese university students considered themselves as having acquired most of the competencies to some extent,especially in Character and Civic Literacy and Interpersonal Communication,but less so in Global and International Perspective and Creativity and Problem Solving.

Strengthening the cultivation of the core competencies of college students will help promote the comprehensive development of college students and equip them with basic qualities and skills that match them. In secondary school Chinese history classes, it is necessary to take the initiative to strengthen the core competence of history subjects, change the previous education mode that only focuses on history and theoretical interpretation and strengthen the basic ability of history subjects;through the cultivation of historical knowledge, students can cultivate their understanding of history and form a correct view of history so that the level and quality of history education in middle schools can be further improved. From the perspective of secondary history education, this paper discusses and explores the issues that should be paid attention to in secondary history education.

文摘Introduction:Nurse specialists are being cultivated and trained in China to cope with the international development of nursing discipline.However,an empirical summary and reviews of literature have shown a lack of core competence evaluation standards for emergency nurse specialists(ENSs)in China.ENS training has been conducted in several regions without any effective competence evaluation standards.This paper describes the development and psychometric testing of the Core Competence Evaluation Standards for Emergency Nurse Specialists(CCESENS)in the Chinese context.Methods:Several rigorous research methods were applied.The proposed evaluation process consisted of two phases with seven steps.First,the Core Competence Framework Model for Emergency Nurse Specialist(CCFMENS)was established,and 118 items were generated through a review of literature,theoretical analysis,and expert interviews.Drafts of the dimensions and items were evaluated by two-round Delphi methods.Analysis hierarchy process was used to determine the weight of each dimension.Second,field testing was performed among 138 senior emergency nurses.Internal consistency and correlation analysis were applied to test the reliability and validity of the model.Results:The CCESENS consisted of five first-level dimensions,16 second-level dimensions,and 55 items.Cronbach's a coefficient of overall standards was 0.972,and each dimension ranged from 0.508 to 0.972.Expert content validity index was 0.818,and the correlation coefficients of the five first-level dimensions with the overall standards CCESENS ranged from 0.701 to 0.886(P<0.05).Discussion:The CCESENS demonstrated sound internal consistency reliability,content validity,and construct validity.The proposed standard provides an objective standard and reference for assessing,training,and evaluating core competence of ENS.
文摘Six representative interpretations about the core competence of the corporate proposed by the researchers both at home and abroad from different perspectives are introduced,which includes"Resource theory","Capacity theory","Integration theory of assets and mechanism","Theory of consumer surplus","Theory of institutions and systems"and"Theory of innovation".It is pointed out that although these interpretations play an active role in enriching the theory of core competence,it still faces the problems to further deepen these interpretations:the first problem is how to give a precise definition;the second is about its extension;the third is on the logical and practical relationship between the production mechanism and its sustainable competitive advantages;the fourth is the problems in the production process and the corresponding management.Both the systematic essence and features of core competence are introduced:the first is the system self-organization process produced within the corporate;the second is the interaction between corporate system and environment;it needs a growing and evolution process.This paper briefly describes the essence of core competence of agricultural high-tech corporate,introduces its five features including systematicness,integration,non-imitation,ductility and non-equilibrium,and finally explains its component parts,mainly including corporate culture system,technological innovation system,human resource system,management capability system,corporate production and marketing system,financial capability system and adaptability system.
