The pressure exerted by the work environment demands the utilization of defensive and coping strategies to deal with it. Our study aims to explore the relationship between professional stress factors, stress symptoms, and the consumption of psychoactive substances as a defensive and coping strategy deployed to address psychological distress at work. A qualitative and quantitative study was conducted with a sample of 405 employees from a wiring manufacturing. The main professional stress factors identified were concentration, overload, long working hours, and monotony, which showed a significant correlation with PAS consumption. Women were found to be more affected by stress and tended to consume more sedatives. Among the respondents, 21.98% reported PAS consumption, with tobacco being the most commonly used (M = 2.66), followed by alcohol (M = 1.94), cannabis (M = 1.79), and sedatives (M = 1.45). There was a significant positive correlation between PAS consumption and stress symptoms {tobacco (r = 0.232*), alcohol (r = 0.305**), cannabis (r = 0.389**)}.展开更多

文摘Objective:To investigate the efficacy of a tripartite collaborative nursing intervention in enhancing resilience among families of pediatric leukemia patients. Methods:Based on Walsh’s family resilience theory and collaborative nursing principles, and after reviewing a large amount of literature,a tripartite intervention was constructed, which was led by the nursing team, coordinated by medical social workers, and supported by volunteers.Caregivers of pediatric hematology inpatients at a tertiary-level Class A hospital were selected as research subjects.which were divided into a control group(n=30)and an experimental group(n=30)according to a randomized block design. The control group are treated with standard nursing care, which included health education, counseling, and psychological support from nurses. The experimental group,in addition, was provided with a tripartite collaborative nursing intervention for 3 months. Results:The family resilience level, social support, and family function scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P≤0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of tripartite collaborative nursing intervention improves the resilience of families of children suffered from leukemia.
文摘Work-related stress has become an alarming reality that continues to intensify over the past decades. There was a significant positive correlation between PAS consumption and stress symptoms {tobacco (r = 0.232*), alcohol (r = 0.305**), cannabis (r = 0.389**)}.

文摘Objectives:This study aimed to evaluate attitudes toward caring for terminally ill patients and identify the associated factors among community nurses in Shanghai. Methods:The study was conducted among community nurses using convenience sampling in Shanghai between August and November 2023.The demographic questionnaire, the Frommelt Attitude Toward Care of the Dying Scale-B(FATCOD-B),and the Coping with Death Scale(CDS)were used for data collection.Data analysis was conducted using independent sample t-test,one-way analysis of variance, and multiple linear regression analysis. Results:A total of 1,396 community nurses participated in this study. The overall FATCOD-B score among community nurses was 102.27±10.23,the attitude toward caring for the dying person’s family dimension scored the highest(4.03±0.53),whereas the attitude toward the communication dimension scored the lowest(2.86±0.52).The overall CDS score was 130.78±20.25.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that death coping ability and blended death education accounted for 13.7%of the variance in community nurses’attitudes toward caring for terminally ill patients. Conclusions:Community nurses in Shanghai exhibit moderate attitudes toward caring for terminally ill patients.Nurses with greater death coping ability and those who participated in blended death education tended to have more positive attitudes toward terminally ill patients. These findingsunderscore the potential of blended death education as a practical strategy to enhance hospice care quality in community health service centers.
文摘1|Goalie Phenomenon The goalie phenomenon describes a group of health issues that may become apparent in children who prefer playing as goalkeepers. This preference might not only be about the excitement of the role but also as a coping mechanism for underlying health issues that make continuous running and high physical exertion challenging. The term highlights how certain positions in sports can sometimes obscure or reveal hidden health conditions, particularly among young athletes[1–3].To our knowledge, this is the first paper to formally introduce the term“Goalie phenomenon”in the literature exploring exerciseinduced asthma and sports role preferences in children.
