The eco-economic system can be divided into socioeconomic and ecological sub-systems and their relationship can reveal the interaction state between the two sub-systems and help the local government to establish a coordinated development mode. An index system was constructed to assess the development of the two sub-systems before the evaluation of the degree of coupling and coordination. The principal component regression analysis was adopted to quantitatively assess the influences of natural, economic and social factors on the degree of coupling and coordination of the eco-economic system. Results showed that, from 1983 to 2014, the development trends of both sub-systems were increasing with the ecological sub-system having more fluctuations. The degree of coupling and coordination of the eco-economic system in the study area increased gradually from 1983 to 2014, but experienced five different development stages from the verge of disorder to favorable coordination. The development of the local social and economic conditions was the most important factor influencing the degree of coupling and coordination. The second most important factor was the financial support from the local government. In addition, the environment protection policies also played undeniable roles. Due to the diversity of the influence factors, the government should take comprehensive measures to promote the sustainable development of the eco-economic system.展开更多

The present study constructed the 2023Cross-City Patient Mobility Network in China using one million patient mobility data records obtained from online healthcare platforms. We applied urban network analysis to uncover mobility patterns and used the coupling coordination degree model to assess healthcare supply-demand relationships before and after patient mobility. Explainable machine learning further revealed the impact of supply-demand coupling on patient mobility. The results indicated the following: Patient mobility followed administrative boundaries, although megacities serve areas beyond provincial borders; The scale of healthcare supply and demand displayed a multi-centric spatial pattern with a general decline from east to west, and these characteristics of demand distribution were further solidified by patient mobility;Cities with low supply-demand coupling and undersupply experienced patient outflows, while cities with high coupling and oversupply attracted them. In turn, patient mobility helped balance healthcare supply and demand, optimising the coupling relationship across cities. Thus, this research not only provides a methodological reference for understanding the interaction between patient mobility and healthcare systems but also offers empirical insights for public health policy.展开更多

However, they are experiencing a range of ecological and environmental challenges, including grassland desertification, wetland degradation, and soil erosion, all of which pose significant threats to the environmental sustainability and overall development of the Yellow River Basin. Urbanization can lead to irreversible damage to ecosystems. Therefore, understanding the relationship between urbanization and ecosystems is crucial for fostering sustainable development in the region. With land use and meteorological data in the upper reaches of the Yellow River in Sichuan Province in 2000-2020, and using InVEST model and standardized processing methods, we analyzed the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of urbanization and four ecosystem services: water conservation, carbon storage, habitat quality, and soil retention. Additionally, we employed the GeoDa bivariate spatial autocorrelation analysis model to reveal the spatial correlations and interactions between urbanization and ecosystems. The results reveal a significant spatial mismatch between urbanization and ecosystem services in the upper Yellow River region of Sichuan Province. While the composite urbanization index decreased from 0.0075 to 0.0042 and remained concentrated in county centers, all ecosystem services showed improvement: water conservation increased from 17.38×10^(9) mm to 23.37×10^(9) mm, carbon storage rose from 936.60 Tg to 938.42 Tg, habitat quality improved from 0.875 to 0.879, and soil retention enhanced from 13.56×10^(8) t to 17.59×10^(8) t. However, these ecological gains were mainly driven by restoration in non-urban southern areas, creating a clear spatial disconnection from urban centers and leading to persistently weak and declining coordination between systems. This spatial decoupling underscores the inadequacy of the current urbanization model in promoting regional ecological synergy. We therefore recommend implementing differentiated zoning strategies: promoting compact development coupled with ecological restoration in county centers, strictly protecting core water conservation and carbon sequestration areas in the southern key ecological zones, and enhancing soilwater conservation and ecological restoration in the vulnerable northern belt, so as to establish an ecological security framework compatible with sustainable urbanization.展开更多

文摘Dryland regions face complex interactions between urbanization and ecological changes, where effective coordination is essential for enhancing sustainability and resilience. However, most studies concentrate on the national or provincial scales, with insufficient research on county-level coordination, limiting the ability to provide targeted polifrom a precise perspective. This study addresses this gap by analyzing 39 counties within the Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration(HBOYUA),a typical dryland urban cluster in China. We use daytime and nighttime remote sensing images to track the spatio-temporal evolution of urbanization and ecological conditions from 1992 to 2023.A novel quantitative framework based on an improved coupling coordination degree(CCD)is proposed to assess their coordination relationship. The results reveal that:(1)Urbanization and ecological quality both exhibited fluctuating upward trends, with spatial heterogeneity increasing for urbanization and decreasing for the eco-environment.Regions with better ecological conditions had higher urbanization levels.(2)The overall coordinated level improved from imbalance(0.36)to low-level coordination(0.55),although its spatial distribution remained uneven, with central urban areas showing higher CCD than surrounding counties.(3)Socioeconomic factors exerted greater effects on CCD than natural factors, with GDP and land surface temperature(LST)playing a significant role in interaction analysis.(4)In western arid regions, urbanization did not necessarily harm ecosystems;instead, ecological conditions improved alongside urbanization. This research offers targeted and valuable references for county and city governments in resource allocation and sustainable development. The proposed methodology is also adaptable for urban resilience studies in other regions.

文摘Ending extreme poverty and achieving sustainable development by 2030 poses a significant challenge for de veloping countries. In the past decade,China has pioneered the Targeted Poverty Alleviation(TPA)strategy and implemented a range of anti-poverty programs, aiming to reconcile poverty reduction with environmental restoration. However, the effectiveness of the TPA strategy in facilitating sustainable development in the poor areas of China(PAC)remains unclear.Drawing on a perspective of systems, this study compiles a panel dataset of 832 nationally designated poverty-stricken counties in China from 2013 to 2020 and employ the coupling coordination degree model to examine the coupling and coordination relationships among economic, social, and environmental systems in the PAC.We find that during the TPA period, the socioeconomic level developed rapidly, while the environmental quality was slightly improved in the PAC.The TPA strategy promotes the co ordinated development of social, economic, and ecological systems in the PAC,shifting the relationship between human and environment from imbalance to coordination. Our findings underscore the necessity for the Chinese government to persist in its environmental restoration efforts in the PAC to guarantee a sustained development progress.

文摘Studying the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and coupling coordination relationship of urban and rural resilience is of substantial theoretical and practical significance to improving the ability of urban and rural areas to resist risk and for promoting their coordinated development. This study establishes a comprehensive evaluation index system of urban and rural resilience that encom-passes industrial, social, and ecological subsystems as well as stability, sensitivity, and adaptability. For each of the prefecture-level city in Northeast China,we evaluated its urban and rural resilience and determined the coupling coordination level between them using data spanning 2010,2015,and 2020.The resilience levels of both urban and rural areas in Northeast China are continuously improving. The high-value area of urban resilience is mainly located in the central cities of Northeast China, and prominent in urban agglomeration areas, while rural resilience is predominantly high in the north and low in the south. The high-value area of the coupling coordination degree is mainly distributed in the arc-shaped zone extending from south to north in the eastern part of Northeast China, with the level of coupling coordination increased overall.Non-parametric testing revealed significant differences in urban industrial stability, urban in-dustrial adaptability, rural industrial stability, rural social adaptability, and rural ecological stability among types of cities differing in their coupling coordination development. Our findings provide a reference for enhancing urban and rural resilience and their coordin-ated development path in Northeast China.

文摘The uneven distribution of medical resources has led to increasingly frequent patient mobility;however, the interaction between this phenomenon and the healthcare supply-demand relationship remains underexplored. Thus, this research not only provides a methodological reference for understanding the interaction between patient mobility and healthcare systems but also offers empirical insights for public health policy.

文摘Vegetation ecological quality(VEQ)is not only influenced by meteorological drought(MD)but also exerts a certain degree of regulatory effect on it.Clarifying the relationship between the two is crucial for ecological conservation efforts. However, the interactions between VEQ and MD and its driving mechanisms in karst mountain regions with high surface heterogeneity remain unclear, and the lack of exploration of this interaction under different subregions hinders further progress in ecological conservation. This study took Guizhou Province, characterized by significant surface heterogeneity and extensive karst formations,as a research case.By dividing the region into different landform regions,we quantified the coupling coordination degree(CCD)between VEQ and MD using the coupling coordination degree model to elucidate their interaction and analyzed its driving forces using the Geodetector model. Results indicated that:(1)From 2001 to 2020,the CCD between VEQ and MD in Guizhou remained at a moderate coordination level, with increasing benign interactions, though significant variations in CCD trends were observed across landform regions.MD is the pivotal subsystem that determines CCD changes.(2)The dominant driving factors of CCD vary by landform, with soil moisture, precipitation,or population density as primary influences.Soil moisture has a stronger effect in karst regions, and its interaction with other factors surpasses the effects of individual factors.(3)To achieve benign development between VEQ and MD.In karst regions, attention should be focused on the impact of soil moisture and human activities on CCD.While non-karst regions have favorable vegetation and hydrothermal conditions, improper development can lead to vegetation degradation, and abnormal hydrothermal conditions, which could trigger a decline in CCD.Therefore, regulating human activities in non-karst regions is also crucial. This work serves as a scientific foundation for formulating ecological preservation strategies in Guizhou and other karst mountain regions.

文摘In this paper, the Taixin Integrated Economic Zone in Shanxi Province is taken as the research object, and the coupling coordination degree model and bivariate spatial autocorrelation model are used to judge the coupling coordination and spatial-temporal correlation between urbanization and ecosystem service, and the hotspot analysis is used to judge the spatial-temporal trend of urbanization and ecosystem service. The results show that:(1)The urbanization level from 2000 to 2020 continued to rise, the areas with relatively high urbanization were concentrated in the central part of the study area, and the relatively high terrain areas on both sides of the study area, the urbanization was relatively slow, and the hotspot areas with highly significant and significant urbanization level from 2000 to 2020 were distributed as bands in the central part of the study area and the area was rising, and there was no Cold spot area distribution;between 2000 and 2020,the ecosystem service value in the study area increased by 2.6800×10^(8) yuan.Over these two decades,it exhibited a development trend that first rose and then declined. The woodland and grassland agglomeration areas were located on the two sides of the study area, forming highly significant and significant hotspots.Conversely, the central and northeastern parts of the study area were characterized by concentrated man-made land surfaces and croplands, resulting in the formation of highly significant and significant cold spots.(2)In the central part of the study area where man-made land surface and cultivated land are concentrated, the coupling coordination between urbanization and ecosystem service is in the intermediate dislocation and mild dislocation interval;the woodland and grassland concentration areas on both sides of the study area are ecologically fragile, and the coupling coordination between the two is in the level of less than intermediate dislocation.(3)From 2000 to 2020,urbanization and the value of ecosystem services were both negatively correlated, although the correlation coefficient was low.In the central and northeastern parts, urbanization and ecosystem service exhibited patterns of high-low,high-high,and low-low clustering.Conversely,on both sides of the study area, most of the clusters showed a low-high pattern.

文摘Rural resilience,a core capability for addressing systemic risks and enabling sustainable development,is increasingly vital to promoting urban-rural integrated development and rural revitalization strategies. However, current research lacks exploration of the collaborative mechanisms between rural economic resilience(RER)and rural social resilience(RSR)in ecologically vulnerable areas.Based on the practical context of rural sustainable development in such regions, this study investigates the interaction between RER and RSR from a resilience coordination perspective. In this paper,a rural resilience evaluation framework for collaborative development of economic and social resilience was established.By employing the coupling coordination degree model, obstacle degree model, and equilibrium entropy model, this paper examines the synergies, constraints, and potential of rural resilience subsystems in Jinchang City,Gansu Province,China,in 2020.The results reveal that:1)RER contributes to RSR by stabilizing the economy, enhancing community adaptability, and driving modernization. In turn,RSR strengthens RER by mitigating instability, building social capital, and fostering confidence—together forming a mutually reinforcing coupling mechanism.2)The rural economic and social resilience level in Jinchang City remains generally low with spatially clustered patterns, while the coupling coordination degree is at an intermediate level overall, with 62.59%of villages exhibiting unbalanced development between rural economic and social resilience.3)RER and RSR demonstrate synergistic degradation in ecologically vulnerable areas, where low-level rural economic and social resilience induce integrated systemic deterioration.4)Considering the unbalanced development of rural economic and social resilience in ecologically fragile areas, differentiated coordination pathways are proposed for three village typologies:RER-lagging villages,RSR-lagging villages, and villages where RER and RSR develop synchronously but lack effective coordination. These findings offer spatial governance strategies and practical guidance for enhancing rural resilience and advancing sustainable development in ecologically vulnerable regions.

文摘Agricultural insurance plays a key role in promoting the coordinated development of green agriculture and farmers’income growth, which is crucial for China’s high-quality agricultural development.Using the coupling coordination degree model, this study empirically demonstrates that the development of agricultural insurance significantly promotes the coordinated development of green agriculture and farmers’income growth once a certain threshold is exceeded. This effect is more pronounced in the major grain-producing regions and the central provinces.Expanding the scale of agricultural production and increasing investment in agricultural technology are the key mechanisms through which agricultural insurance supports the dual goals of green agriculture and income growth in China. In conclusion, this study proposes several policy recommendations, which include increasing investment in agricultural insurance infrastructure, strengthening the policy guidance for agricultural insurance, and designing differentiated agricultural insurance policies.

文摘The upper reaches of the Yellow River in Sichuan Province are critical area for water conservation and ecological protection in China. We therefore recommend implementing differentiated zoning strategies: promoting compact development coupled with ecological restoration in county centers, strictly protecting core water conservation and carbon sequestration areas in the southern key ecological zones, and enhancing soilwater conservation and ecological restoration in the vulnerable northern belt, so as to establish an ecological security framework compatible with sustainable urbanization.

文摘The relationship between socioeconomic development and the environment is intimately linked with the level of regional sustainable development.Clarifying the evolution pattern of this relationship during the sustainable development progress is crucial for achieving all of the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs),but less research has focused on this problem. Here,we have utilized statistical and remote sensing data from 290 municipal units in China to analyze the evolution of the coupling coordination degree(CCD)between socioeconomic development and the environment along a progression of sustainable development measured by the SDG Index. The results show that the hotspot areas of CCD are concentrated in coastal regions, gradually decreasing as they move inland.Additionally,as sustainable development progresses, both socioeconomic and environment levels exhibit a nonlinear rise. The coupling coordination between the two demonstrates a pattern of initial increasing, then decreasing, and finally increasing again, which may be related to changes in industrial structure. Our study delves deeply into the patterns of evolution in the relationship between socioeconomic and environments, exploring the challenges and opportunities faced by regions at different stages of sustainable development. The findings can deepen our understanding of sustainable development and provide policy suggestions and theoretical support for achieving SDGs.

文摘Understanding the influencing factors of ecosystem services(ESs)and their relationships is essential for sustainable ecosystem management in degraded alpine ecosystems. There is a lack of integrated multi-model approaches to explore the multidimensional influences on ESs and their relationships in alpine ecosystems.Taking the Daxing'anling forest area,Inner Mongolia(DFAIM)as a case study, this study used the integrated valuation of ecosystem services and trade-offs(InVEST)model to quantify four ESs—soil conservation(SC),water yield(WY),carbon storage(CS),and habitat quality(HQ)—from 2013 to 2018.We adopted root mean square deviation(RMSD)and coupling coordination degree models(CCDM)to analyze their relationships, and integrated three complementary approaches—optimal parameter-based geographical detector model(OPGDM),gradient boosting regression tree model(GBRTM),and quantile regression model(QRM)—to reveal multidimensional influencing factors.Key findings include the following:(1)From 2013 to 2018,WY,SC,and HQ declined while CS increased.WY was primarily influenced by mean annual precipitation(MAP),forest ratio(RF),and soil bulk density(SBD);CS and HQ by RF and population density(PD);and SC by slope(S),RF,and MAP.Mean annual temperature(MAT),gross domestic product(GDP),and road network density(RND)showed increasing negative impacts.(2)Low trade-off intensity(TI<0.15)dominated all ES pairs, with RF,MAP,PD,and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)being the dominant factors. The factor interactions primarily showed two-factor enhancement patterns.(3)The average coupling coordination degree(CCD)of the four ESs was low and declined over time, with low-CCD areas becoming increasingly prevalent.RF,S,SBD,and NDVI positively influenced CCD,while PD,MAT,GDP,and RND had increasing negative impacts, with over 62%of the factor interactions exceeding the individual factor effects. In summary,ES supply generally decreased.Local relationships showed moderate coordination, while overall relationships indicated primary dysfunction.Land use and natural factors primarily shaped these ES and their relationships, while climate and socioeconomic changes diminished ES supply and intensified competition. We recommend enhancing the resilience of natural systems rather than replacing them, establishing climate adaptation monitoring systems, and promoting conservation tillage and cross-departmental coordination mechanisms for collaborative ES optimization. These results provide valuable insights into the sustainable management of alpine ecosystems.

文摘Slope climbing of urban expansion(SCE),as a form of urbanization, has increasingly significant impacts on urban development.Unsustainable slope climbing of urban expansion can harm the natural environment, thereby affecting human production and living conditions.Using a coupled coordination model and the geographically weighted regression(GTWR)model, leveraging night light remote sensing data and ecological environment quality index model, this study investigated the coupling relationship between urban expansion and ecological environment quality and its influencing factors in the Yangtze River Economic Belt of China from 2000 to 2020.The results indicate that from 2000 to 2020,the intensity of urban slope climbing in the Yangtze River Economic Belt showed a fluctuating upward trend, with the slope climbing intensity being most significant in Chongqing Municipality and Kunming of Yunnan Province.Overall, the ecological environment quality exhibited an upward trend, with over 80%of the study area maintaining stable or improved ecological quality. There is a certain spatial correspondence between ecological environment quality and urban slope climbing.Although these two aspects of development demonstrate a high degree of coordination, fluctuations still occur during the development process.Further research on the coupling coordination relationship between the two revealed that population density has a negative impact on coupling coordination in the eastern region, and technology expenditure in eastern coastal cities has shown a negative trend over time.To ensure the continued increase in the proportion of highly coordinated areas in the future, eastern coastal cities in the study region could prioritize ecological civilization construction, strengthen urban construction and development planning, adjust influencing factors, and ensure the coordinated development of urban growth with ecological environment quality.
