A buckling-restrained steel plate shear wall(BRSPSW)structure with butterfly-shaped links on the lateral sides is introduced to improve the cooperative perfor-mance between the BRSPSW and the boundary frames.A one-span two-story concrete-filled steel tube(CFT)column frame specimen equipped with lateral-side butterfly-shaped linked BRSPSWs(LBL-BRSPSWs)is evaluated under low-cycle reversed loading.A finite element(FE)model is developed and validated based on the test results.This FE model accurately simulates the failure modes and load-dis-placement curves.Parametric analyses are conducted on the butterfly-shaped links.The results show that the interactions between the CFT column frame and LBL-BRSPSWs are sig-nificantly influenced by the width ratio of the butterfly-shaped links,while the taper ratio and aspect ratio have relatively minor influences.Compared with traditional steel shear walls with four-sided connections,LBL-BRSPSWs reduce the additional axial forces and bending moments in the frame columns by 28%to 73%and 17%to 87%,respectively,with only a 9%to 30%decrease in the lateral resistance.The experimental and parametric analysis results indicate that setting butterfly-shaped links on the lateral sides of BRSPSWs can significantly enhance their cooperative performance with the boundary frame.The butterfly-shaped link width ratio has a linear relationship with the lateral-resistance performance of the specimens and the additional internal forces in the frame columns.To ensure that LBL-BRSPSW fails prior to the column frames,the link width ratio should be optimized. 展开更多

Study on the Mechanical Performance of Wet Concrete Joints in Large-Span Composite Steel-Concrete Cable-Stayed Bridges

A steel-concrete composite cable-stayed bridge features integrated steel girders and concrete decks linked by shear connectors to support loads,but stress concentration in wet joints can lead to cracking.In-situ tests were conducted on key sections of steel-concrete composite cable-stayed bridges to analyze the stress-strain evolution of wet joints under environmental factors,constraints,and complex construction processes.The coordinated working performance of the bridge decks was also analyzed.The results indicate that temperature is the key factor affecting the stresses and strains in wet joint concrete.Approximately 7 days after casting the wet joint concrete,the strains at each measurement point of the wet joint are approximately negatively correlated with the temperature change at the measurement point.Different locations within the wet joints have respective impacts,presenting potential weak points.Construction conditions have a certain impact on the stress and strain of the wet joint.The top deck of the steel box girder is not fully bonded to the bottom surface of the wet joints,resulting in a certain strain difference after loading.To further analyze the cooperative working performance of steel box girders and concrete wet joint bridge deck systems,finite element analysis was conducted on composite girder structures.A stiffness calculation method for shear connectors based on numerical simulation was proposed.The results indicate that strain differences can cause interface slip in composite girders.This slip leads to increased deflection of the composite girders and increased tensile stress in the bottom plate of the steel box girders.This study clarifies the stress conditions and factors affecting wet joints during construction,preventing early cracking,and offers precise data for a full bridge finite element model. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Elderly patients with refractory ulcerative colitis(UC)have a poor prognosis,and timely surgical intervention should not be delayed.However,with the advent of biologics,therapy has become more complex,and there are no clear criteria for the timing of surgical conversion.AIM To investigate the risk factors for postoperative complications in elderly patients with UC.METHODS Elderly patients(≥60 years old)with refractory UC who underwent colectomy at Hyogo Medical University between April 2012 and March 2024 were included in this study.Fatal complications included life-threatening complications requiring intensive care unit management and death.The primary outcome was defined by possible risk factors for fatal complications in older patients with refractory UC.RESULTS A total of 191 elderly patients with UC were analyzed in this series.The rate of fatal complications was 18/191(9.4%),and the most common complication was pneumonia due to disuse syndrome.Body mass index(BMI)<17 kg/m^(2)[odds ratio(OR)=4.08,95%confidence interval(95%CI):1.19-13.97,P=0.02]and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status(ECOG-PS)≥3(OR=14.5,95%CI:3.43-61.64,P<0.01)were identified as independent risk factors for fatal complications.CONCLUSION Among the elderly patients with refractory UC,the risk factors for fatal complications were low BMI and ECOG-PS score.Prompt surgical intervention is recommended before the patient loses weight or has difficulty walking.These factors may allow for early surgical decision-making before patients become debilitated. 展开更多

Prognostic value of ECOG performance status and Gleason score in the survival of castration-resistant prostate cancer:a systematic review 被引量:6

Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG)performance status and Gleason score are commonly investigated factors for overall survival(OS)in men with castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC).However,there is a lack of consistency regarding their prognostic or predictive value for OS.Therefore,we performed this meta-analysis to assess the associations of ECOG performance status and Gleason score with OS in CRPC patients and compare the two markers in patients under different treatment regimens or with different chemotherapy histories.A systematic literature review of monotherapy studies in CRPC patients was conducted in the PubMed database until May 2019.The data from 8247 patients in 34 studies,including clinical trials and real-world data,were included in our meta-analysis.Of these,twenty studies reported multivariate results and were included in our main analysis.CRPC patients with higher ECOG performance statuses(≥2)had a significantly increased mortality risk than those with lower ECOG performance statuses(<2),hazard ratio(HR):2.10,95%confidence interval(CI):1.68-2.62,and P<0.001.The synthesized HR of OS stratified by Gleason score was 1.01,with a 95%CI of 0.62-1.67(Gleason score≥8 vs<8).Subgroup analysis showed that there was no significant difference in pooled HRs for patients administered taxane chemotherapy(docetaxel and cabazitaxel)and androgen-targeting therapy(abiraterone acetate and enzalutamide)or for patients with different chemotherapy histories.ECOG performance status was identified as a significant prognostic factor in CRPC patients,while Gleason score showed a weak prognostic value for OS based on the available data in our meta-analysis. 展开更多

Charismatic leadership of cooperative managers has been identified as antecedent. In addition, shareholders' age, education, land size, and duration of membership in the cooperative were investigated to have effect on the shareholder's performance and satisfaction. Charismatic leadership of cooperative managers is the subject of research on the effects of performance and satisfaction of the cooperative shareholders. A field survey was conducted. This study has been applied to Cukobirlik, an agricultural sale cooperative in East Mediterranean of Turkey. The researchers collected data by random questionnaire method. The research data were collected from 155 cooperative shareholders. For the data, exploratory factor, correlation, and regression were analyzed. The results of this analysis show that there is a meaningful relationship between charismatic leaders and the performance and satisfaction of shareholders for these cooperatives. Another result, there is significant relation between land size of cooperative shareholders and the performance and satisfaction of cooperative shareholders. 展开更多

In-network caching has been regarded as a prominent feature of Content-Centric Networking since it is able to reduce the network traffic, alleviate the server bottleneck and decrease the user access latency. However, the CCN default caching scheme results in a high caching redundancy, causing an urgent need for an efficient caching scheme. To address this issue, we propose a novel implicit cooperative caching scheme to efficiently reduce the caching redundancy and improve the cache resources utilization. The simulation results show that our design achieves a higher hit ratio and a shorter cache hit distance in comparison with the other typical caching schemes. 展开更多

Advanced hybrid nanomaterials(nanohybrids)with unique tailored morphologies and compositions have been used for the target-oriented catalysts due to the structural or supportive properties of each moiety and the synergistic properties of the individual components.The rational design and development of nanohybrids by integrating highly porous silica into a nano metal-organic framework(NMOF)are expected to enable unique nanospace engineering in the resulting systems to optimize their utility in the target areas.Herein,we report the design and fabrication of advanced nanohybrids composed of dendritic fibrous nanosilica(DFNS)and DFNS/gold(DFNS/Au)hybrids as the core and zinc-based NMOF(Zn-NMOF)as the shell(DFNS@Zn-NMOF)through a solution-based approach.The combined fibrous morphology of DFNS and micropores of NMOF can be directly employed for nanospace engineering in the resulting multi-compositional and hierarchical systems in a controllable manner.The DFNS/Au dots@Zn-NMOF nanohybrid shows improved catalytic performance in the Knoevenagel condensation reaction,attributed mainly to the cooperative effect stemming from the suitably organized configurations of each component. 展开更多
