Observability is a fundamental property of a partially observed dynamical system,which means whether one can use an input sequence and the corresponding output sequence to determine the initial state.Observability pro... Observability is a fundamental property of a partially observed dynamical system,which means whether one can use an input sequence and the corresponding output sequence to determine the initial state.Observability provides bases for many related problems,such as state estimation,identification,disturbance decoupling,controller synthesis,etc.Until now,fundamental improvement has been obtained in observability of Boolean control networks(BCNs)mainly based on two methods-Edward F.Moore's partition and our observability graph or their equivalent representations found later based on the semitensor product(STP)of matrices(where the STP was proposed by Daizhan Cheng),including necessary and sufficient conditions for different types of observability,extensions to probabilistic Boolean networks(PBNs)and singular BCNs,even to nondeterministic finite-transition systems(NFTSs);and the development(with the help of the STP of matrices)in related topics,such as com-putation of smallest invariant dual subspaces of BNs containing a set of Boolean functions,multiple-experiment observability verification/decomposition in BCNs,disturbance decoupling in BCNs,etc.This paper provides a thorough survey for these topics.The contents of the paper are guided by the above two methods.First,we show that Moore's partition-based method closely relates the following problems:computation of smallest invariant dual subspaces of BNs,multiple-experiment observ-ability verification/decomposition in BCNs,and disturbance decoupling in BCNs.However,this method does not apply to other types of observability or nondeterministic systems.Second,we show that based on our observability graph,four different types of observability have been verified in BCNs,verification results have also been extended to PBNs,singular BCNs,and NFTSs.In addition,Moore's partition also shows similarities between BCNs and linear time-invariant(LTI)control systems,e.g.,smallest invariant dual subspaces of BNs containing a set of Boolean functions in BCNs vs unobservable subspaces of LTI control systems,the forms of quotient systems based on observability decomposition in both types of systems.However,there are essential differences between the two types of systems,e.g.,"all plausible definitions of observability in LTI control systems turn out to be equivalent"(by Walter M.Wonham 1985),but there exist nonequivalent definitions of observability in BCNs;the quotient system based on observability decomposition always exists in an LTI control system,while a quotient system based on multiple-experiment observability decomposition does not always exist in a BCN. 展开更多

Set stabilization is one of the essential problems in engineering systems, and self-triggered control(STC) can save the storage space for interactive information, and can be successfully applied in networked control systems with limited communication resources. In this study, the set stabilization problem and STC design of Boolean control networks are investigated via the semi-tensor product technique. On the one hand, the largest control invariant subset is calculated in terms of the strongly connected components of the state transition graph, by which a graph-theoretical condition for set stabilization is derived. On the other hand, a characteristic function is exploited to determine the triggering mechanism and feasible controls. Based on this, the minimum-time and minimum-triggering open-loop, state-feedback and output-feedback STCs for set stabilization are designed,respectively. As classic applications of self-triggered set stabilization, self-triggered synchronization, self-triggered output tracking and self-triggered output regulation are discussed as well. This paper describes a broad perspective of the application of graph theory to establishment of GPS control networks whereby the GPS network is considered as a connected and directed graph with three components.In this algorithm the gross error detection is undertaken through loops of different spanning trees using the "Loop Law" in which the individual components Δ X, Δ Y and Δ Z sum up to zero.If the sum of the respective vector components ∑X,∑Y and ∑Z in a loop is not zero and if the error is beyond the tolerable limit (ε>w),it indicates the existence of gross errors in one of the baselines in the loop and therefore the baseline must be removed or re_observed.After successful screening of errors by graph theory,network adjustment can be carried out.In this paper,the GPS data from the control network established as reference system for the HP Dam at Baishan county in Liaoning province is presented to illustrate the algorithm. 展开更多

First, the Boolean control network is converted into an output- decomposed form by constructing a set of consistent outputfriendly subspaces, and a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of the consistent output-friendly subspaces is obtained. Secondly, a type of state feedback controllers are designed to solve the Morgan's problem if it is solvable. By solving a set of matrix equations, a necessary and sufficient condition for converting an output-decomposed form to an input-output decomposed form is given, and by verifying the output controllability matrix, the solvability of Morgan's problem is obtained. 展开更多

This paper investigates the optimal output regulation of switched Boolean control networks by using a dynamic programming method.The reference signal studied in this paper is generated by the output trajectory of a switched Boolean network.First,a per-step cost vector is proposed based on the largest control invariant set of the augmented auxiliary system.Then,a novel criterion is derived for determining the solvability of the output regulation.The proposed criterion transforms the solvability of output regulation of switched Boolean control networks into an optimization problem,providing a new perspective for addressing output regulation through optimal control.Based on this,an optimal state feedback control is proposed to enable the output trajectory of the original network to completely track the reference signal.An algorithm is presented to calculate the optimal feedback gain matrix and the optimal value for each state.Compared with existing results,the optimal state feedback control presented in this paper offers a generalized optimization principle and effectively reduces the computational complexity associated with designing state feedback control.Finally,an illustrative example is provided to validate the effectiveness of the results obtained. 展开更多

First, the BCN under consideration is split into a finite number of subsystems with no time delays. Second, the observability of the BCN is verified by testing the observability of the so-called observability constructed path(a special subsystem without time delays) based on graph theory. Public opinion propagation control is one of the hot topics in contemporary social network research. With the rapid dissemination of information over the Internet, the traditional isolation and vaccination strategies can no longer achieve satisfactory results. A positive guidance technology for public opinion diffusion is urgently needed. First, based on the analysis of influence network controllability and public opinion diffusion, a positive guidance technology is proposed and a new model that supports external control is established. Second, in combination with the influence network, a public opinion propagation influence network model is designed and a public opinion control point selection algorithm(POCDNSA) is proposed. Finally, An experiment verified that this algorithm can lead to users receiving the correct guidance quickly and accurately, reducing the impact of false public opinion information; the effect of CELF is no better than that of the POCDNSA algorithm. The main reason is that the former is completely based on the diffusion cascade information contained in the training data, but does not consider the specific situation of the network structure and the diffusion of public opinion information in the closed set. thus, the effectiveness and feasibility of the algorithm is proven. The findings of this article therefore provide useful insights for the implementation of public opinion control. 展开更多

Emotion and executive control are often conceptualized as two distinct modes of human brain functioning.Little,however,is known about how the dynamic organization of large-scale functional brain networks that support flexible emotion processing and executive control,especially their interactions.The amygdala and prefrontal systems have long been thought to play crucial roles in these processes.Recent advances in human neuroimaging studies have begun to delineate functional organization principles among the large-scale brain networks underlying emotion,executive control,and their interactions.Here,we propose a dynamic brain network model to account for interactive competition between emotion and executive control by reviewing recent resting-state and task-related neuroimaging studies using network-based approaches.In this model,dynamic interactions among the executive control network,the salience network,the default mode network,and sensorimotor networks enable dynamic processes of emotion and support flexible executive control of multiple processes;neural oscillations across multiple frequency bands and the locus coeruleus−norepinephrine pathway serve as communicational mechanisms underlying dynamic synergy among large-scale functional brain networks.This model has important implications for understanding how the dynamic organization of complex brain systems and networks empowers flexible cognitive and affective functions. 展开更多

An investigation on the neural networks based active vibration control of flexible redundant manipulators was conducted. The smart links of the manipulator were synthesized with the flexible links to which were attached piezoceramic actuators and strain gauge sensors. A nonlinear adaptive control strategy named neural networks based indirect adaptive control (NNIAC) was employed to improve the dynamic performance of the manipulator. The mathematical model of the 4-layered dynamic recurrent neural networks (DRNN) was introduced. The neuro-identifier and the neuro-controller featuring the DRNN topology were designed off line so as to enhance the initial robustness of the NNIAC. By adjusting the neuro-identifier and the neuro-controller alternatively, the manipulator was controlled on line for achieving the desired dynamic performance. Finally, a planar 3R redundant manipulator with one smart link was utilized as an illustrative example. The simulation results proved the validity of the control strategy. 展开更多

So it is rather difficult to derive a traditional mathematical model which is capable of expressing both its dynamics and steady-state characteristics. A neural network-based adaptive control strategy is proposed in this paper. In this method, two neural networks have been adopted for system identification (NNI) and control (NNC), respectively. Then, the commonly-used specialized learning has been modified, by taking the NNI output as the approximation output of the servo-motor during the weights training to get sensitivity information. Moreover, the rule for choosing the learning rate is given on the basis of the analysis of Lyapunov stability. Finally, an example of applying the proposed control strategy on a servo-motor is presented to show its effectiveness. 展开更多

In this paper, an adaptive backstepping fuzzy cerebellar-model-articulation-control neural-networks control (ABFCNC) system for motion/force control of the mobile-manipulator robot (MMR) is proposed. By applying the ABFCNC in the tracking-position controller, the unknown dynamics and parameter variation problems of the MMR control system are relaxed. In addition, an adaptive robust compensator is proposed to eliminate uncertainties that consist of approximation errors, uncertain disturbances. Based on the tracking position-ABFCNC design, an adaptive robust control strategy is also developed for the nonholonomicconstraint force of the MMR. The design of adaptive-online learning algorithms is obtained by using the Lyapunov stability theorem. Therefore, the proposed method proves that it not only can guarantee the stability and robustness but also the tracking performances of the MMR control system. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed control system are verified by comparative simulation results. 展开更多

Depending on the place that the observer is put in the system, the network control systems with packet dropping are modeled as stochastic systems with the random variables satisfying the Bernoulli random binary distribution. The observer-based controller is designed to stabilize the networked system in the sense of mean square, and the prescribed H∞ disturbance attenuation level is achieved. The controller design problem is formulated as the feasibility of the convex optimization problem, which can be solved by a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. Using fuzzy neural networks to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions, a fuzzy- neural adaptive observer is introduced for state estimation as well as system identification. Under the framework of the backstepping design, fuzzy-neural adaptive output feedback control is constructed recursively. It is proven that the proposed fuzzy adaptive control approach guarantees the global boundedness property for all the signals, driving the tracking error to a small neighbordhood of the origin. When applying Software-Defined Networks(SDN) to WANs,the SDN flexibility enables the cross-domain control to achieve a better control scalability.However,the control consistence is required by all the cross-domain services,to ensure the data plane configured in consensus for different domains.Such consistence process is complicated by potential failure and errors of WANs.In this paper,we propose a consistence layer to actively and passively snapshot the cross-domain control states,to reduce the complexities of service realizations.We implement the layer and evaluate performance in the PlanetLab testbed for the WAN emulation.The testbed conditions are extremely enlarged comparing to the real network.The results show its scalability,reliability and responsiveness in dealing with the control dynamics.In the normalized results,the active and passive snapshots are executed with the mean times of 1.873 s and 105 ms in135 controllers,indicating its readiness to be used in the real network. 展开更多

The next-generation optical network is a service oriented network,which could be delivered by utilizing the generalized multiprotocol label switching(GMPLS) based control plane to realize lots of intelligent features such as rapid provisioning,automated protection and restoration(P&R),efficient resource allocation,and support for different quality of service(QoS) requirements.In this paper,we propose a novel stateful PCE-cloud(SPC)based architecture of GMPLS optical networks for cloud services.The cloud computing technologies(e.g.virtualization and parallel computing) are applied to the construction of SPC for improving the reliability and maximizing resource utilization.The functions of SPC and GMPLS based control plane are expanded according to the features of cloud services for different QoS requirements.The architecture and detailed description of the components of SPC are provided.Different potential cooperation relationships between public stateful PCE cloud(PSPC) and region stateful PCE cloud(RSPC) are investigated.Moreover,we present the policy-enabled and constraint-based routing scheme base on the cooperation of PSPC and RSPC.Simulation results for verifying the performance of routing and control plane reliability are analyzed. 展开更多
