[Objective]Under the combined impact of climate change and urbanization,urban rainstorm flood disasters occur frequently,seriously restricting urban safety and sustainable development.Relying on traditional grey infra...[Objective]Under the combined impact of climate change and urbanization,urban rainstorm flood disasters occur frequently,seriously restricting urban safety and sustainable development.Relying on traditional grey infrastructure such as pipe networks for urban stormwater management is not enough to deal with urban rainstorm flood disasters under extreme rainfall events.The integration of green,grey and blue systems(GGB-integrated system)is gradually gaining recognition in the field of global flood prevention.It is necessary to further clarify the connotation,technical and engineering implementation strategies of the GGB-integrated system,to provide support for the resilient city construction.[Methods]Through literature retrieval and analysis,the relevant research and progress related to the layout optimization and joint scheduling optimization of the GGBintegrated system were systematically reviewed.In response to existing limitations and future engineering application requirements,key supporting technologies including the utilization of overground emergency storage spaces,safety protection of underground important infrastructure and multi-departmental collaboration,were proposed.A layout optimization framework and a joint scheduling framework for the GGB-integrated system were also developed.[Results]Current research on layout optimization predominantly focuses on the integration of green system and grey system,with relatively fewer studies incorporating blue system infrastructure into the optimization process.Moreover,these studies tend to be on a smaller scale with simpler scenarios,which do not fully capture the complexity of real-world systems.Additionally,optimization objective tend to prioritize environmental and economic goals,while social and ecological factors are less frequently considered.Current research on joint scheduling optimization is often limited to small-scale plots,with insufficient attention paid to the entire system.There is a deficiency in method for real-time,automated determination of optimal control strategies for combinations of multiple system facilities based on actual rainfall-runoff processes.Additionally,the application of emergency facilities during extreme conditions is not sufficiently addressed.Furthermore,both layout optimization and joint scheduling optimization lack consideration of the mute feed effect of flood and waterlogging in urban,watershed and regional scales.[Conclusion]Future research needs to improve the theoretical framework for layout optimization and joint scheduling optimization of GGB-integrated system.Through the comprehensive application of the Internet of things,artificial intelligence,coupling model development,multi-scale analysis,multi-scenario simulation,and the establishment of multi-departmental collaboration mechanisms,it can enhance the flood resilience of urban areas in response to rainfall events of varying intensities,particularly extreme rainfall events.展开更多

First, the scene changes are detected by the average absolute difference of the brightness histograms between the adjacent frames. Then, the bit allocation and quantization parameters are adjusted, using a certain threshold. In addition, the calculation of the mean absolute difference (MAD) is modified in an alternative way, which makes the rate distortion optimization (RDO) more accurate. Extensive simulation results show that the proposed method, compared with G012, can improve the average peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and moderate the image quality.展开更多

Firstly, a maneuvering model for near-space hypersonic aircraft is given. Then, the aircraft acceleration prediction can be obtained using this model with two neural networks. By using the target acceleration prediction, which is taken into account when calculating the Zero Effort Miss(ZEM), an optimal sliding-mode guidance law is proposed to fulfill the guidance task. An adaptive sliding-mode switch term is designed to deal with actuator saturation and prediction errors. Finally, numerical simulations show that the proposed guidance law can reduce the energy consumption and the terminal acceleration command of the interceptor effectively.展开更多

The system dynamics has a general correlation between system and measurement noise. And the risk-sensitive cost contains a general quadratic term (with cross terms and extra linear terms). The explicit solution of such a problem is presented here using the output feedback control method. This clean and direct derivation enables one to convert such partial observable problems into the equivalent complete observable control problems and use the routine ways to solve them.展开更多

An enhanced least mean square(LMS)error identification algorithm integrated with Kalman filtering is proposed to resolve accuracy degradation induced by nonlinear dynamics and parameter uncertainties in continuous rot...An enhanced least mean square(LMS)error identification algorithm integrated with Kalman filtering is proposed to resolve accuracy degradation induced by nonlinear dynamics and parameter uncertainties in continuous rotary electro-hydraulic servo systems.This enhancement accelerates convergence and improves accuracy compared with traditional LMS.A fifth-order identification mod-el is developed based on valve-controlled hydraulic motors,with parameters identified using Kalman filter state estimation and gradient smoothing.The results indicate that the improved LMS effectively enhances parameter identification.An advanced disturbance rejection controller(ADRC)is de-signed,and its performance is compared with an optimal proportional integral derivative(PID)con-troller through Simulink simulations.The results show that the ADRC fulfills the control specifications and expands the system’s operational bandwidth.展开更多

Therefore, we propose the use of two-dimensional (2D) guidance laws to meet the guidance requirements of 3D space. By analyzing the relationship between the flight-path angle and its projections on OXY and OXZ planes, we obtain the ideal design requirements of the guidance laws. Based on the requirements, we design a 2D suboptimal guidance law used in the horizontal plane; combining the 2D vertical suboptimal guidance law, we create a whole ballistic simulation of six degree-of-freedom. The results are compared with those using other three guidance modes in the case of large windage of the initial azimuth angle. When the proportional navigation guidance (PNG) law is used in the horizontal planes, the landing angle will obviously decrease. With the proposed guidance mode, the large landing angle can be realized and meet the guidance precision requirements. Moreover, the required overload can decrease to meet the control requirement. The effects of the proposed guidance mode are close to that of 3DSGL despite its very simple form.展开更多
The purpose of this paper is to introduce to you, the Western people, nowadays a “widely unknown” Japanese thermodynamicist by the name of Motoyosi Sugita and his study on the thermodynamics of transient phenomena a...The purpose of this paper is to introduce to you, the Western people, nowadays a “widely unknown” Japanese thermodynamicist by the name of Motoyosi Sugita and his study on the thermodynamics of transient phenomena and his theory of life. This is because although he was one of the top theoretical physicists in Japan before, during and after WWII and after WWII he promoted the establishment of the biophysical society of Japan as one of the founding members, he himself and his studies themselves have seemed to be totally forgotten nowadays in spite that his study was absolutely important for the study of life. Therefore, in this paper I would like to present what kind of person he was and what he studied in physics as a review on the physics work of Motoyosi Sugita for the first time. I will follow his past studies to introduce his ideas in theoretical physics as well as in biophysics as follows: He proposed the bright ideas such as the quasi-static change in the broad sense, the virtual heat, and the field of chemical potential etc. in order to establish his own theory of thermodynamics of transient phenomena, as the generalization of the Onsager-Prigogine’s theory of the irreversible processes. By the concept of the field of chemical potential that acquired the nonlinear transport, he was seemingly successful to exceed and go beyond the scope of Onsager and Prigogine. Once he established his thermodynamics, he explored the existence of the 4th law of thermodynamics for the foundation of theory of life. He applied it to broad categories of transient phenomena including life and life being such as the theory of metabolism. He regarded the 4th law of thermodynamics as the maximum principle in transient phenomena. He tried to prove it all life long. Since I have recently found that his maximum principle can be included in more general maximum principle, which was known as the Pontryagin’s maximum principle in the theory of optimal control, I would like to explain such theories produced by Motoyosi Sugita as detailed as possible. And also I have put short history of Motoyosi Sugita’s personal life in order for you to know him well. With the increase of the interest in solar sailing, it is required to provide a basis for future detailed planetary escape mission analysis by drawing together prior work, clarifying and explaining previously anomalie...With the increase of the interest in solar sailing, it is required to provide a basis for future detailed planetary escape mission analysis by drawing together prior work, clarifying and explaining previously anomalies. In this paper, a technique for escaping the Earth by using a solar sail is developed and numerically simulated. The spacecraft is initially in a geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO). Blended solar sail analytical control law, explicitly independent of time, are then presented, which provide near-optimal escape trajectories and maintain a safe minimum altitude and which are suitable as a potential autonomous onboard controller. This control law is investigated from a range of initial conditions and is shown to maintain the optimality previously demonstrated by the use of a single-energy gain control law but without the risk of planetary collision. Finally, it is shown that the blending solar sail analytical control law is suitable for solar sail on-board autonomously control system.展开更多
