With the growing integration of renewable energy sources(RESs)and smart interconnected devices, conventional distribution networks have turned to active distribution networks(ADNs)with complex system model and power flow dynamics. The rapid fluctuation of RES power may easily result in frequent voltage violation issues.Taking the flexible RES reactive power as control variables, this paper proposes a two-layer control scheme with Koopman wide neural network(WNN)based model predictive control(MPC)method for optimal voltage regulation and network loss reduction.Based on Koopman operator theory,a data-driven WNN method is presented to fit a high-dimensional linear model of power flow. With the model, voltage and network loss sensitivities are computed analytically, and utilized for ADN partition and control model formulation. In the lower level,a dual-mode adaptive switching MPC strategy is put forward for optimal voltage control and network loss optimization in each individual partition to decide the RES reactive power. The upper level is to calculate the adjustment coefficients of the RES reactive power given in the low level by taking the coupling effects of different partitions into account, and then the final reactive power dispatches of RESs are obtained to realize optimal control of voltage and network loss.Simulation results on two ADNs demonstrate that the proposed strategy can reliably maintain the voltage at each node within the secure range, reduce network power losses, and enhance the overall system security and economic efficiency. 展开更多

The bipartite containment control problem for heterogeneous nonlinear multi-agent systems(HNMASs)within multi-group networks under signed digraphs is investigated, where the first-order and second-order nonlinear dynamic agents belong to distinct groups.Interactions are cooperative-antagonistic within each group and sign-in-degree balanced across the inter-groups.Firstly,a state feedback control protocol is designed to ensure that the trajectories of followers in diverse groups can converge to distinct convex hulls formed by their corresponding leaders, respectively. As an extension, the bipartite control problem with time-variant formation for the multi-agent system(MAS)is also considered, and a corresponding control protocol with formation compensation vectors is given. Finally,in view of Lyapunov stability theory and matrix inequality, the sufficient conditions for realizing the bipartite containment control are obtained, and several simulations are provided to verify the validity of the above methods. 展开更多

The flight envelope of Air Turbo Rocket(ATR)engines is broader compared to conventional aero-engines,and designing a full-envelope controller using traditional methods poses significant challenges due to a burdensome design process. To address this issue, this paper proposes a self-learning neural network controller design method based on Reinforcement Learning(RL).Additionally,a method for predictive compensation and stability rewards is proposed to reduce the system oscillation caused by actuator delay. This approach simplifies the actuator to a firstorder inertial element exhibiting pure delay.A simulation environment for the ATR engineactuator system is first established.Based on this environment,a self-learning neural network controller using a predictive compensator and the Proximal Policy Optimization(PPO)algorithm is then developed.Furthermore, the temporal difference signals from the controller output are integrated into the reward function to enhance system stability. The proposed method is validated through numerical simulations and semi-physical experiments. The numerical simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method increases the system's tolerance to delays from 20 ms to 400 ms.Under an actuator delay of 400 ms,the average steady-state error remains less than0.1%,the overshoot is limited to 1%,and the settling time does not exceed 3 s.Moreover, compared to the traditional method, the proposed method exhibits higher adaptability to model errors and variations in flight conditions. In the conducted semi-physical simulation experiments, the proposed method achieves stable control of a real electric pump. 展开更多

The dense integration of residential distributed photovoltaic(PV)systems into three-phase,four-wire low-voltage(LV)distribution networks results in reverse power flow and three-phase imbalance, leading to voltage violations that hinder the growth of rural distributed PV systems.Traditional voltage droop-based control methods regulate PV power output solely based on local voltage measurements at the point of PV connection.Due to a lack of global coordination and optimization, their efficiency is often subpar. This paper presents a centralized coordinated active/reactive power control strategy for PV inverters in rural LV distribution feeders with high PV penetration. The strategy optimizes residential PV inverter reactive and active power control to enhance voltage quality. It uses sensitivity coefficients derived from the inverse Jacobian matrix to assign adjustment weights to individual PV units and iteratively optimize their power outputs. The control sequence prioritizes reactive power increases;if the coefficients are below average or the inverters reach capacity, active power is curtailed until voltage issues are resolved.A simulation based on a real 37-node rural distribution network shows that the proposed method significantly reduces PV curtailment.Typical daily results indicate a curtailment rate of 1.47%,which is significantly lower than the 15.4%observed with the voltage droop-based control method. The total daily PV power output(measured every 15 min)increases from 5.55 to 6.41 MW,improving PV hosting capacity. 展开更多

With the prevalence of renewable distributed energy resources(DERs)such as photovoltaics(PVs),modern active distribution networks(ADNs)suffer from voltage deviation and power quality issues. However, traditional voltage control methods often face a trade-off between efficiency and effectiveness, and rarely ensure robust voltage safety under typical state perturbations in practical distribution grids. In this paper,a robust model-free voltage regulation approach is proposed which simultaneously takes security and robustness into account. In this context, the voltage control problem is formulated as a constrained Markov decision process(CMDP).A safety-augmented multiagent deep deterministic policy gradient(MADDPG)algorithm is the trained to enable real-time collaborative optimization of ADNs,aiming to maintain nodal voltages within safe operational limits while minimizing total line losses. Moreover,a robust regulation loss is introduced to ensure reliable performance under various state perturbations in practical voltage controls. The proposed regulation algorithm effectively balance efficiency, safety, and robustness, and also demonstrates potential for generalizing these characteristics to other applications.Numerical studies vali-date the robustness of the proposed method under varying state perturbations on the IEEE test cases and the optimal integrated control performance when compared to other benchmarks. 展开更多

Facing the economic challenges of significant frequency regulation wear and tear on thermal power units and short energy storage lifespan in thermal-energy storage combined systems participating in grid primary frequency regulation(PFR),this paper proposes a novel hybrid energy storage system(HESS)control strategy based on Newton-Raphson optimization algorithm(NRBO)-VMD and a fuzzy neural network(FNN)for PFR.In the primary power allocation stage, the high inertia and slow response of thermal power units prevent them from promptly responding to the high-frequency components of PFR signals, leading to increased mechanical stress. To address the distinct response characteristics of thermal units and HESS,an NRBO-VMD based decomposition method for PFR signals is proposed, enabling a flexible system response to grid frequency deviations.Within the HESS,an adaptive coordinated control strategy and a State of Charge(SOC)self-recovery strategy are introduced. These strategies autonomously adjust the virtual inertia and droop coefficients based on the depth of frequency regulation and the real-time SOC.Furthermore,a FNN is constructed to perform secondary refinement of the internal power distribution within the HESS.Finally, simulations under various operational conditions demonstrate that the proposed strategy effectively mitigates frequent power adjustments of the thermal unit during PFR,adaptively achieves optimal power decomposition and distribution, maintains the flywheel energy storage’s SOC within an optimal range, and ensures the long-term stable operation of the HESS. 展开更多

Load frequency control(LFC)is a critical function to balance the power consumption and generation.Thegrid frequency is a crucial indicator for maintaining balance. However, the widely used information and communication infrastructure for LFC increases the risk of being attacked by malicious actors. The dynamic load altering attack(DLAA)is a typical attack that can destabilize the power system, causing the grid frequency to deviate fromits nominal value. Therefore,in this paper,we mathematically analyze the impact of DLAA on the stability of the grid frequency and propose the network parameter regulation(NPR)to mitigate the impact. To begin with, the dynamic LFC model is constructed by highlighting the importance of the network parameter. Then,we model the DLAA and analyze its impact on LFC using the theory of second-order dynamic systems. Finally,we model the NPR and prove its effect in mitigating the DLAA.Besides,we construct a least-effort NPR considering its infrastructure cost and aim to reduce the operation cost. Finally,we carry out extensive simulations to demonstrate the impact of the DLAA and evaluate the mitigation performance of NPR.The proposed cost-benefit NPR approach can not only mitigate the impact of DLAA with 100%and also save 41.18$/MWh in terms of the operation cost. 展开更多

Wireless communication-enabled Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control(CACC)is expected to improve the safety and traffic capacity of vehicle platoons.Existing CACC considers a conventional communication delay with fixed Vehicular Communication Network(VCN)topologies. However, when the network is under attack, the communication delay may be much higher, and the stability of the system may not be guaranteed. This paper proposes a novel communication Delay Aware CACC with Dynamic Network Topologies(DADNT).The main idea is that for various communication delays,in order to maximize the traffic capacity while guaranteeing stability and minimizing the following error, the CACC should dynamically adjust the VCN network topology to achieve the minimum inter-vehicle spacing. To this end,a multi-objective optimization problem is formulated, and a 3-step Divide-And-Conquer sub-optimal solution(3DAC)is proposed.Simulation results show that with 3DAC,the proposed DADNT with CACC can reduce the inter-vehicle spacing by 5%,10%,and 14%,respectively,compared with the traditional CACC with fixed one-vehicle,two-vehicle,and three-vehicle look-ahead network topologies, thereby improving the traffic efficiency. 展开更多

A composite anti-disturbance predictive control strategy employing a Multi-dimensional Taylor Network(MTN)is presented for unmanned systems subject to time-delay and multi-source disturbances.First, the multi-source disturbances are addressed according to their specific characteristics as follows:(A)an MTN data-driven model, which is used for uncertainty description,is designed accompanied with the mechanism model to represent the unmanned systems;(B)an adaptive MTN filter is used to remove the influence of the internal disturbance;(C)an MTN disturbance observer is constructed to estimate and compensate for the influence of the external disturbance;(D)the Extended Kalman Filter(EKF)algorithm is utilized as the learning mechanism for MTNs.Second,to address the time-delay effect,a recursiveτstep-ahead MTN predictive model is designed utilizing recursive technology, aiming to mitigate the impact of time-delay,and the EKF algorithm is employed as its learning mechanism. Then, the MTN predictive control law is designed based on the quadratic performance index.By implementing the proposed composite controller to unmanned systems, simultaneous feedforward compensation and feedback suppression to the multi-source disturbances are conducted. Finally, the convergence of the MTN and the stability of the closed-loop system are established utilizing the Lyapunov theorem. Two exemplary applications of unmanned systems involving unmanned vehicle and rigid spacecraft are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

This paper explores the issue of secure synchronization control in piecewise-homogeneous Markovian jump delay neural networks affected by denial-of-service(DoS)attacks.Initially,a novel memory-based adaptive event-triggered mechanism(MBAETM)is designed based on sequential growth rates, focusing on event-triggered conditions and thresholds.Subsequently, from the perspective of defenders,non-periodic DoS attacks are re-characterized,and a model of irregular DoS attacks with cyclic fluctuations within time series is further introduced to enhance the system's defense capabilities more effectively.Additionally, considering the unified demands of network security and communication efficiency,a resilient memory-based adaptive event-triggered mechanism(RMBAETM)is proposed.A unified Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is then constructed, incorporating a loop functional to thoroughly consider information at trigger moments. The master-slave system achieves synchronization through the application of linear matrix inequality techniques. Finally, the proposed methods'effectiveness and superiority are confirmed through four numerical simulation examples. 展开更多

Core power is a key parameter of nuclear reactor.Traditionally, the proportional-integralderivative(PID)controllers are used to control the core power.Fractional-order PID(FOPID)controller represents the cutting edge in core power control research. In comparing with the integer-order models,fractional-order models describe the variation of core power more accurately, thus provide a comprehensive and realistic depiction for the power and state changes of reactor core. However, current fractional-order controllers cannot adjust their parameters dynamically to response the environmental changes or demands. In this paper,we aim at the stable control and dynamic responsiveness of core power.Based on the strong selflearning ability of artificial neural network(ANN),we propose a composite controller combining the ANN and FOPID controller. The FOPID controller is firstly designed and a back propagation neural network(BPNN)is then utilized to optimize the parameters of FOPID.It is shown by simulation that the composite controller enables the real-time parameter tuning via ANN and retains the advantage of FOPID controller. 展开更多
