An acidic mixture of sulfuric and fluosilicic acid(H_(2)SO_(4)+H_(2)SiF_(6))was employed as lixiviant to enhance leaching of lithium from lepidolite.The H_(2)SiF_(6) was obtained as a byproduct of anhydrous hydrofluor...An acidic mixture of sulfuric and fluosilicic acid(H_(2)SO_(4)+H_(2)SiF_(6))was employed as lixiviant to enhance leaching of lithium from lepidolite.The H_(2)SiF_(6) was obtained as a byproduct of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid production,aiming to provide HF molecules.It was found that the HF molecules were the main reaction component and played a key role in strengthening the dissolution of lepidolite.Different factors,including mass ratio of ore/H_(2)SO_(4)/H_(2)SiF_(6),concentrations of H_(2)SO_(4) and H_(2)SiF_(6),leaching temperatures(40−80℃)and time(15−75 min),were investigated.Moreover,an efficient tubular reactor was employed to improve this acid leaching system.Under the optimal conditions(ore/H_(2)SO_(4)/H_(2)SiF_(6) mass ratio of 1:0.8:1.6,80 wt.% H_(2)SO_(4),15 wt.% H_(2)SiF_(6),80℃,15 min),97.9% of Li,96.4% of K,97.6% of Rb,96.7% of Cs and 81.4% of Al(mass fraction)were leached.Additionally,a two-step thermal process was proposed to remove fluorine of leaching slurry.This acid treatment using an acidic mixture of H_(2)SO_(4) and H_(2)SiF_(6) in a continuous tubular reactor shows potential as an alternative process to extract lithium from lepidolite.展开更多
A novel control strategy for a continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR)system,which has the typical characteristic of strongly pronounced nonlinearity,multiple operating points,and a wide operating range,is initiated fro...A novel control strategy for a continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR)system,which has the typical characteristic of strongly pronounced nonlinearity,multiple operating points,and a wide operating range,is initiated from the point of hybrid systems.The proposed scheme makes full use of the modeling power of mixed logical dy- namical(MLD)systems to describe the highly nonlinear dynamics and multiple operating points in a unified framework as a hybrid system,and takes advantage of the good control quality of model predictive control(MPC) to design a controller.Thus,this approach avoids oscillation during switching between sub-systems,helps to relieve shaking in transition,and augments the stability robustness of the whole system,and finally achieves optimal(i.e. fast and smooth)transition between operating points.The simulation results demonstrate that the presented ap- proach has a satisfactory performance.展开更多
A novel method based on the selective pressure of particle size (particle-size cultivation method, PSCM) was developed for the cultivation and operation of aerobic granular sludge in a continuous-flow reactor, and c...A novel method based on the selective pressure of particle size (particle-size cultivation method, PSCM) was developed for the cultivation and operation of aerobic granular sludge in a continuous-flow reactor, and compared with the conventional method based on the selective pressure of settling velocity (settling-velocity cultivation method, SVCM). Results indicated that aerobic granules could be cultivated in continuous operation mode by this developed method within 14 days. Although in the granulation process, under particle-size selective pressure, mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) in the reactor fluctuated greatly and filamentous bacteria dominated the sludge system during the initial operation days, no obvious difference in profile was found between the aerobic granules cultivated by PSCM and SVCM. Moreover, aerobic granules cultivated by PSCM presented larger diameter, lower water content and higher specific rates of nitrification, denitrifieation and phosphorus removal, but lower settling velocity. Under long term operation of more than 30 days, aerobic granules in the continuous-flow reactor could remain stable and obtain good chemical oxygen demand (COD), NH4^+-N, total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) removal. The results indicate that PSCM was dependent on the cultivation and maintenance of the stability of aerobic granules in continuous-flow bioreactors.展开更多

Results showed that the continuous...The direct hydroxylation of benzene to phenol catalyzed by activated carbon-supported Fe (Fe/AC) in acetonitrile using H2O2 as the oxidant was studied in a continuous flow reactor. Results showed that the continuous operation could obtain high phenol yield of 28.1%, coupled with the turnover frequency of 3 h^-1, and high selectivity of 98% under mild condition. The catalyst was characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption, Boehm titration, X-ray photoelectron spectra, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. It was observed that iron may interact with the carboxyl group forming iron-carboxylate like species, which act as the active phase. The apparent activation energy obtained by fitting an Arrhenius model to the experimental data was 13.4 kJ/mol. The reaction order was calculated to be about i, 0.2 for benzene and 0.7 for H202.展开更多

Understanding the residence time distribution(RTD)of a continuous hydrothermal reactor is of great significance to improve product quality and reaction efficiency.In this work,an on-line measurement system is attached...Understanding the residence time distribution(RTD)of a continuous hydrothermal reactor is of great significance to improve product quality and reaction efficiency.In this work,an on-line measurement system is attached to a continuous reactor to investigate the characteristics of RTD.An approach that can accurately fit and describe the experimental measured RTD curve by finding characteristic values is proposed for analysis and comparison.The RTD curves of three experiment groups are measured and the characteristic values are calculated.Results show that increasing total flow rate and extending effective reactor length have inverse effect on average residence time,but they both cause the reactor to approach a plug flow reactor and improve the materials leading.The branch flow rate fraction has no significant effect on RTD characteristics in the scope of the present work except the weak negative correlation with the average residence time.Besides,the natural convection stirring effect can also increase the average residence time,especially when the forced flow is weak.The analysis reveals that it is necessary to consider the matching of natural convection,forced flow and reactor size to control RTD when designing the hydrothermal reactor and working conditions.展开更多

Enough bigger initial exit velocity (u_0) and initial thickness can suppress the shrinkage ofthe flat jet along the width direction and keep the flat jet stabilized. In addition, thetrajectory of the flat jet with an inclination angle is parabolic and must be taking intoconsideration when to determine the striking distance.展开更多
The biochemical methane potentials for typical fruit and vegetable waste (FVW) and food waste (FW) from a northern China city were investigated, which were 0.30, 0.56 m3 CH4/kgVS (volatile solids) with biodegrad...The biochemical methane potentials for typical fruit and vegetable waste (FVW) and food waste (FW) from a northern China city were investigated, which were 0.30, 0.56 m3 CH4/kgVS (volatile solids) with biodegradabilities of 59.3% and 83.6%, respectively. Individual anaerobic digestion testes of FVW and FW were conducted at the organic loading rate (OLR) of 3 kg VS/(m3-day) using a lab-scale continuous stirred-tank reactor at 35°C. FVW could be digested stably with the biogas production rate of 2.17 ma/(m3-day) and methane production yield of 0.42 m3 CH4/kg VS. However, anaerobic digestion process for FW was failed due to acids accumulation. The effects of FVW: FW ratio on co-digestion stability and performance were further investigated at the same OLR. At FVW and FW mixing ratios of 2:1 and 1:1, the performance and operation of the digester were maintained stable, with no accumulation of volatile fatty acids (VFA) and ammonia. Changing the feed to a higher FW content in a ratio of FVW to FW 1:2, resulted in an increase in VFAs concentration to 1100-1200 rag/L, and the methanogenesis was slightly inhibited. At the optimum mixture ratio 1:1 for co-digestion of FVW with FW, the methane production yield was 0.49 m3 CH4/kg VS, and the volatile solids and soluble chemical oxygen demand (sCOD) removal efficiencies were 74.9% and 96.1%, respectively.展开更多

This paper proposes a switching multi-objective model predictive control(MOMPC) algorithm for constrained nonlinear continuous-time process systems.Different cost functions to be minimized in MPC are switched to satis...This paper proposes a switching multi-objective model predictive control(MOMPC) algorithm for constrained nonlinear continuous-time process systems.Different cost functions to be minimized in MPC are switched to satisfy different performance criteria imposed at different sampling times.In order to ensure recursive feasibility of the switching MOMPC and stability of the resulted closed-loop system,the dual-mode control method is used to design the switching MOMPC controller.In this method,a local control law with some free-parameters is constructed using the control Lyapunov function technique to enlarge the terminal state set of MOMPC.The correction term is computed if the states are out of the terminal set and the free-parameters of the local control law are computed if the states are in the terminal set.The recursive feasibility of the MOMPC and stability of the resulted closed-loop system are established in the presence of constraints and arbitrary switches between cost functions.Finally,implementation of the switching MOMPC controller is demonstrated with a chemical process example for the continuous stirred tank reactor.展开更多

Visual process monitoring is important in complex chemical processes.To address the high state separation of industrial data,we propose a new criterion for feature extraction called balanced multiple weighted linear d...Visual process monitoring is important in complex chemical processes.To address the high state separation of industrial data,we propose a new criterion for feature extraction called balanced multiple weighted linear discriminant analysis(BMWLDA).Then,we combine BMWLDA with self-organizing map(SOM)for visual monitoring of industrial operation processes.BMWLDA can extract the discriminative feature vectors from the original industrial data and maximally separate industrial operation states in the space spanned by these discriminative feature vectors.When the discriminative feature vectors are used as the input to SOM,the training result of SOM can differentiate industrial operation states clearly.This function improves the performance of visual monitoring.Continuous stirred tank reactor is used to verify that the class separation performance of BMWLDA is more effective than that of traditional linear discriminant analysis,approximate pairwise accuracy criterion,max–min distance analysis,maximum margin criterion,and local Fisher discriminant analysis.In addition,the method that combines BMWLDA with SOM can effectively perform visual process monitoring in real time.展开更多
Nonlinear model predictive controllers(NMPC)can predict the future behavior of the under-controlled system using a nonlinear predictive model.Here,an array of hyper chaotic diagonal recurrent neural network(HCDRNN)was...Nonlinear model predictive controllers(NMPC)can predict the future behavior of the under-controlled system using a nonlinear predictive model.Here,an array of hyper chaotic diagonal recurrent neural network(HCDRNN)was proposed for modeling and predicting the behavior of the under-controller nonlinear system in a moving forward window.In order to improve the convergence of the parameters of the HCDRNN to improve system’s modeling,the extent of chaos is adjusted using a logistic map in the hidden layer.A novel NMPC based on the HCDRNN array(HCDRNN-NMPC)was proposed that the control signal with the help of an improved gradient descent method was obtained.The controller was used to control a continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR)with hard-nonlinearities and input constraints,in the presence of uncertainties including external disturbance.The results of the simulations show the superior performance of the proposed method in trajectory tracking and disturbance rejection.Parameter convergence and neglectable prediction error of the neural network(NN),guaranteed stability and high tracking performance are the most significant advantages of the proposed scheme.展开更多

Switching control is an important method in process control. Therefore, this paper studies the informative property of a data set in a single-input single-output (SISO) closed-loop system with a switching controller. It is proved that this data set is informative if the controller switches among at least two modes (i.e., feedback laws). Our result does not require any assumption on the way of switch and removes the constraints on the switching manner required in some classical literature. Finally, simulation case studies based on a continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) process are given to validate the results.展开更多

Control of such processes with conventional control methods could lead to unstable, suboptimal, etc., results. On the other hand, the adaptive control is a technique widely used for controlling of nonlinear systems. The approach here is based on the recursive identification of the external linear model as a linear representation of the originally nonlinear system. The controller then reacts to the change of the working point or disturbances which could occur by the change of the parameters, structure, etc. The polynomial synthesis together with the linear quadratic(LQ) approach is employed here for the controller synthesis. These techniques satisfy basic control requirements such as the stability, the reference signal tracking and the disturbance attenuation. Resulted controller could be tuned with the choice of weighting factors in LQ approach. This work investigates the effect of these factors on control results. Proposed methods are tested on the mathematical model of the isothermal continuous stirred-tank reactor and simulated results are also verified on the real model of the continuous stirred tank reactor.展开更多

The optimization framework includes two layers: the first layer, necessary condition of optimally (NCO) tracking controller, calculates the optimal set-point of the process; and the second layer, output neighboring-extremal controller, calculates the input values of the controlled plant. The algorithm design and convergent analysis of output neighboring-extremal controller are discussed emphatically, and in the case of existing parametric uncertainty, the approach is shown to converge to the optimum atmost in two iterations. 文摘The continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR)is one of the typical chemical processes.Aiming at its strong nonlinear characteristics,a quantized kernel least mean square(QKLMS)algorithm is proposed.The QKLMS algorithm is based on a simple online vector quantization technology instead of sparsification,which can compress the input or feature space and suppress the growth of the radial basis function(RBF)structure in the kernel learning algorithm.To verify the effectiveness of the algorithm,it is applied to the model identification of CSTR process to construct a nonlinear mapping relationship between coolant flow rate and product concentration.In additiion,the proposed algorithm is further compared with least squares support vector machine(LS-SVM),echo state network(ESN),extreme learning machine with kernels(KELM),etc.The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has higher identification accuracy and better online learning ability under the same conditions.

文摘A model of the continuous melt transesterification process of bisphenol-A and diphenyl carbonate in a continuous stirred tank reactor to produce polycarbonate is presented. The model is developed by using the molecular species model of polycarbonate melt polycondensation and the modeling method of reactive flash. Liquid phase is treated as perfect mixed flow and the vapor phase is assumed following the ideal gas law. With this model, the continuous melt transesterification process of bisphenol-A and diphenyl carbonate is examined with respect to different orocess parameters.

文摘Understanding the residence time distribution(RTD)of a continuous hydrothermal reactor is of great significance to improve product quality and reaction efficiency.In this work,an on-line measurement system is attached to a continuous reactor to investigate the characteristics of RTD.An approach that can accurately fit and describe the experimental measured RTD curve by finding characteristic values is proposed for analysis and comparison.The RTD curves of three experiment groups are measured and the characteristic values are calculated.Results show that increasing total flow rate and extending effective reactor length have inverse effect on average residence time,but they both cause the reactor to approach a plug flow reactor and improve the materials leading.The branch flow rate fraction has no significant effect on RTD characteristics in the scope of the present work except the weak negative correlation with the average residence time.Besides,the natural convection stirring effect can also increase the average residence time,especially when the forced flow is weak.The analysis reveals that it is necessary to consider the matching of natural convection,forced flow and reactor size to control RTD when designing the hydrothermal reactor and working conditions.
文摘The performance of the flat jet with an inclination angle was investigated bya water model. A mathematical model for the shrinkage and the trajectory of the flat jet with aninclination angle was derived theoretically and verified by experimental data of the water model.The experimental results indicate that the inclination angle (alpha) has no influence on theshrinkage of the flat jet, the shrinkage of the flat jet along the width direction decreases withthe increasing of the initial velocity at the exit (u_0) and the initial thickness of the flat jet(t_0). Enough bigger initial exit velocity (u_0) and initial thickness can suppress the shrinkage ofthe flat jet along the width direction and keep the flat jet stabilized. In addition, thetrajectory of the flat jet with an inclination angle is parabolic and must be taking intoconsideration when to determine the striking distance.

文摘The biochemical methane potentials for typical fruit and vegetable waste (FVW) and food waste (FW) from a northern China city were investigated, which were 0.30, 0.56 m3 CH4/kgVS (volatile solids) with biodegradabilities of 59.3% and 83.6%, respectively. Individual anaerobic digestion testes of FVW and FW were conducted at the organic loading rate (OLR) of 3 kg VS/(m3-day) using a lab-scale continuous stirred-tank reactor at 35°C. FVW could be digested stably with the biogas production rate of 2.17 ma/(m3-day) and methane production yield of 0.42 m3 CH4/kg VS. However, anaerobic digestion process for FW was failed due to acids accumulation. The effects of FVW: FW ratio on co-digestion stability and performance were further investigated at the same OLR. At FVW and FW mixing ratios of 2:1 and 1:1, the performance and operation of the digester were maintained stable, with no accumulation of volatile fatty acids (VFA) and ammonia. Changing the feed to a higher FW content in a ratio of FVW to FW 1:2, resulted in an increase in VFAs concentration to 1100-1200 rag/L, and the methanogenesis was slightly inhibited. At the optimum mixture ratio 1:1 for co-digestion of FVW with FW, the methane production yield was 0.49 m3 CH4/kg VS, and the volatile solids and soluble chemical oxygen demand (sCOD) removal efficiencies were 74.9% and 96.1%, respectively.

文摘CSTR(Continuous stirred tank reactor)is employed in process control and chemical industries to improve response characteristics and system efficiency.It has a highly nonlinear characteristic that includes complexities in its control and design.Dynamic performance is compassionate to change in system parameterswhich need more effort for planning a significant controller for CSTR.The reactor temperature changes in either direction from the defined reference value.It is important to note that the intensity of chemical actions inside the CSTR is dependent on the various levels of temperature,and deviation from reference values may cause degradation of biomass quality.Design and implementation of an appropriate adaptive controller for such a nonlinear system are essential.In this paper,a conventional Proportional Integral Derivative(PID)controller is designed.The conventional techniques to deal with constraints suffer severe limitations like it has fixed controller parameters.Hence,A novel method is applied for computing the PID controller parameters using a swarm algorithm that overcomes the conventional controller’s limitation.In the proposed technique,PID parameters are tuned by Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO).It is not easy to choose the suitable objective function to design a PID controller using PSO to get an optimal response.In this article,a multi-objective function is proposed for PSO based controller design of CSTR.

文摘For the characteristics of the continuous stirred-tank reactor(CSTR) with coil and jacket cooling system,a CSTR temperature dual control solution based on the analysis of the CSTR exothermic reaction control characteristic was proposed for an organic material polymerization production.The control solution has passive fault-tolerant ability for the jacket cooling water cutting off fault and active fault-tolerant potential for the coil cooling water cutting off fault,and it has good control ability,high saving energy and reducing consumption performance.Fault detection and diagnosis and fault-tolerant control strategy are designed for the coil cooling fault to achieve the active fault-tolerant control function.The CSTR temperature dual control,process fault detection and diagnosis and active fault-tolerant control were full integrated into the CSTR temperature fault-tolerant control system,which achieve fault tolerance control of CSTR temperature for any severe malfunction of jacket cooling or coil cooling cutting off,and the security for CSTR exothermic reaction is improved.Finally,the effectiveness of this system was validated by semi-physical simulation experiment.

文摘This paper proposes a switching multi-objective model predictive control(MOMPC) algorithm for constrained nonlinear continuous-time process systems.Different cost functions to be minimized in MPC are switched to satisfy different performance criteria imposed at different sampling times.In order to ensure recursive feasibility of the switching MOMPC and stability of the resulted closed-loop system,the dual-mode control method is used to design the switching MOMPC controller.In this method,a local control law with some free-parameters is constructed using the control Lyapunov function technique to enlarge the terminal state set of MOMPC.The correction term is computed if the states are out of the terminal set and the free-parameters of the local control law are computed if the states are in the terminal set.The recursive feasibility of the MOMPC and stability of the resulted closed-loop system are established in the presence of constraints and arbitrary switches between cost functions.Finally,implementation of the switching MOMPC controller is demonstrated with a chemical process example for the continuous stirred tank reactor.

文摘In this paper, asymmetric Gaussian weighting functions are introduced for the identification of linear parameter varying systems by utilizing an input-output multi-model structure. It is not required to select operating points with uniform spacing and more flexibility is achieved. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach, several weighting functions, including linear, Gaussian and asymmetric Gaussian weighting functions, are evaluated and compared. It is demonstrated through simulations with a continuous stirred tank reactor model that the oroposed aonroach nrovides more satisfactory aonroximation.

文摘Visual process monitoring is important in complex chemical processes.To address the high state separation of industrial data,we propose a new criterion for feature extraction called balanced multiple weighted linear discriminant analysis(BMWLDA).Then,we combine BMWLDA with self-organizing map(SOM)for visual monitoring of industrial operation processes.BMWLDA can extract the discriminative feature vectors from the original industrial data and maximally separate industrial operation states in the space spanned by these discriminative feature vectors.When the discriminative feature vectors are used as the input to SOM,the training result of SOM can differentiate industrial operation states clearly.This function improves the performance of visual monitoring.Continuous stirred tank reactor is used to verify that the class separation performance of BMWLDA is more effective than that of traditional linear discriminant analysis,approximate pairwise accuracy criterion,max–min distance analysis,maximum margin criterion,and local Fisher discriminant analysis.In addition,the method that combines BMWLDA with SOM can effectively perform visual process monitoring in real time.
文摘Nonlinear model predictive controllers(NMPC)can predict the future behavior of the under-controlled system using a nonlinear predictive model.Here,an array of hyper chaotic diagonal recurrent neural network(HCDRNN)was proposed for modeling and predicting the behavior of the under-controller nonlinear system in a moving forward window.In order to improve the convergence of the parameters of the HCDRNN to improve system’s modeling,the extent of chaos is adjusted using a logistic map in the hidden layer.A novel NMPC based on the HCDRNN array(HCDRNN-NMPC)was proposed that the control signal with the help of an improved gradient descent method was obtained.The controller was used to control a continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR)with hard-nonlinearities and input constraints,in the presence of uncertainties including external disturbance.The results of the simulations show the superior performance of the proposed method in trajectory tracking and disturbance rejection.Parameter convergence and neglectable prediction error of the neural network(NN),guaranteed stability and high tracking performance are the most significant advantages of the proposed scheme.
文摘A self-tuning reaching law based sliding mode control(SMC)theory is proposed to stabilize the nonlinear continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR).T-S fuzzy logic is used to build a global fuzzy state-space linear model.Combing the traits of SMC and CSTR,three fuzzy rules can meet the requirements of controlled system.The self-tuning switch control law which can drive the state variables to the sliding surface as soon as possible is designed to ensure the robustness of uncertain fuzzy system.Lyapunov equation is applied to proving the stability of the sliding surface.The simulations show that the proposed approach can achieve desired performance with less chattering problem.

文摘Closed-loop identification is important and necessary to various model-based advanced process control strategies, whose performance depends greatly on the informative property of the data set. Switching control is an important method in process control. Therefore, this paper studies the informative property of a data set in a single-input single-output (SISO) closed-loop system with a switching controller. It is proved that this data set is informative if the controller switches among at least two modes (i.e., feedback laws). Our result does not require any assumption on the way of switch and removes the constraints on the switching manner required in some classical literature. Finally, simulation case studies based on a continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) process are given to validate the results.
文摘Most of the processes in the industry have nonlinear behavior. Control of such processes with conventional control methods could lead to unstable, suboptimal, etc., results. On the other hand, the adaptive control is a technique widely used for controlling of nonlinear systems. The approach here is based on the recursive identification of the external linear model as a linear representation of the originally nonlinear system. The controller then reacts to the change of the working point or disturbances which could occur by the change of the parameters, structure, etc. The polynomial synthesis together with the linear quadratic(LQ) approach is employed here for the controller synthesis. These techniques satisfy basic control requirements such as the stability, the reference signal tracking and the disturbance attenuation. Resulted controller could be tuned with the choice of weighting factors in LQ approach. This work investigates the effect of these factors on control results. Proposed methods are tested on the mathematical model of the isothermal continuous stirred-tank reactor and simulated results are also verified on the real model of the continuous stirred tank reactor.
文摘A new optimizing framework of process operation is proposed to deal with optimizing op- eration of continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR). The optimization framework includes two layers: the first layer, necessary condition of optimally (NCO) tracking controller, calculates the optimal set-point of the process; and the second layer, output neighboring-extremal controller, calculates the input values of the controlled plant. The algorithm design and convergent analysis of output neighboring-extremal controller are discussed emphatically, and in the case of existing parametric uncertainty, the approach is shown to converge to the optimum atmost in two iterations. At last the approach is illustrated by simulation results for a dynamic CSTR.
