In the current electric power production mode in China, the use of thermal power technology still occupies a considerable proportion. The main raw material used in thermal power generation is coal, so in the process of its production, there will be a very huge amount of sulfur and nitrate emissions, thus causing very serious pollution to the earth's atmosphere. Therefore, in the future process of production of thermal power plants, more attention should be paid to the use of flue gas desulfurization and denitrification related technologies, and the efficiency of coal resource utilization can also be improved when reducing the pollution of the local natural ecological environment. This move not only improves the economic-related benefits of the whole thermal power plant, but also has certain social benefits, but also is in line with the current energy conservation, environmental protection and sustainable development policies in China, and plays an indelible and important role in the sustainable development and progress of thermal power plants.展开更多

Hence, detecting orthology relations has become an important task in the post-genomic era. Various genomic events, such as duplication and horizontal gene transfer, can cause erroneous assignment of orthology relations. In closely-related species, gene neighborhood information can be used to resolve many ambiguities in orthology inference. Here we present OrthoGNC, a software for accurately predicting pairwise orthology relations based on gene neighborhood conservation. Analyses on simulated and real data reveal the high accuracy of OrthoGNC. In addition to orthol- ogy detection, OrthoGNC can be employed to investigate the conservation of genomic context among potential orthologs detected by other methods.
