Traditionally, bariatric surgeries have been categorized into hypoabsorptive, restrictive, or hybrid approaches. However, these classifications inadequately reflect the complex anatomical and physiological alterations associated with modern surgical methodologies. This paper explores the evolution of metabolic surgeries, emphasizing the integration of physiological concepts into classic procedures to provide more tailored and effective treatment options for obesity and its comorbidities. Finally, the proposal for a new classification based on current metabolic concepts will facilitate communication among patients, doctors, and healthcare professionals. During the Tang Dynasty,incarcerated prisoners enjoyed various rights during their detention,including access to clothing,food,medical care,hygiene,rest,and burial arrangements.Under specific conditions,prisoners were...During the Tang Dynasty,incarcerated prisoners enjoyed various rights during their detention,including access to clothing,food,medical care,hygiene,rest,and burial arrangements.Under specific conditions,prisoners were even granted leave for family events such as funerals or weddings.The Rules for Prison Officials(Yuguanling)detailed the rights and safeguards for prisoners and set clear guidelines on the use of restraints during detention.Additionally,the Statutes on Deciding Cases(Duanyu Lü)outlined explicit penalties for judicial officials who failed to ensure prisoner rights or committed related violations.Interrogation processes adhered to strict procedural and substantive requirements,including direct questioning by judges,the avoidance of cases involving personal connections or conflicts of interest,evidence-based cross-examinations,careful investigation of circumstances,and consistent rulings across similar cases.The Tang legal code imposed comprehensive,detailed,and stringent limits on the application of coercive interrogations,specifying restrictions on tools,methods,subjects,and extent.Any breaches of these restrictions were met with severe punishments.While the concept of“human rights”did not appear in Tang legal and administrative texts,these laws and regulations embody abundant principles of people-centered governance,benevolence,and human rights concepts.Systematic examination of these ideas,values,and principles—when integrated with the Marxist perspective on human rights—can enrich China’s contemporary human rights practice,contribute to articulating China’s unique narrative on human rights,and play a role in constructing a distinctly Chinese discourse on human rights.Such efforts could provide Chinese wisdom and proposals for the advancement of human rights globally.展开更多

Purpose:Citations can be used in evaluative bibliometrics to measure the impact of papers.However,citation analysis can be extended by a multi-dimensional perspective on citation impact which is intended to receive mo...Purpose:Citations can be used in evaluative bibliometrics to measure the impact of papers.However,citation analysis can be extended by a multi-dimensional perspective on citation impact which is intended to receive more specific information about the kind of received impact.Design/methodology/approach:Bornmann,Wray,and Haunschild(2019)introduced citation concept analysis(CCA)for capturing the importance and usefulness certain concepts have in subsequent research.The method is based on the analysis of citances-the contexts of citations in citing papers.This study applies the method by investigating the impact of various concepts introduced in the oeuvre of the world-leading French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu.Findings:We found that the most cited concepts are‘social capital’(with about 34%of the citances in the citing papers),‘cultural capital’,and‘habitus’(both with about 24%).On the other hand,the concepts‘doxa’and‘reflexivity’score only about 1%each.Research limitations:The formulation of search terms for identifying the concepts in the data and the citation context coverage are the most important limitations of the study.Practical implications:The results of this explorative study reflect the historical development of Bourdieu’s thought and its interface with different fields of study.Originality/value:The study demonstrates the high explanatory power of the CCA method.展开更多

For a long time, the independence of the two is more prominent than their organic connection. This research has made preliminary considerations from three aspects. First, it concerns infusing the concept of ecology, contemplating and demonstrating space, as well as reducing the incidence of plant diseases and insect pests of urban green land. Second, the arrangement of flowers and trees for the planning and design of urban green land should comply with the biological attributes of flowers and trees to realize the organic unification of biological and scenic attributes of flowers and trees. Third, the planning and design of urban green land should attach importance to the organic unification of biological and scenic attributes of lawn grass seeds and reduce the difficulty of maintaining lawn. This research attempts to reduce the pressure of maintaining urban green land from the beginning, i.e. the planning and design of urban green land. Engineering problems often involve large spatial scales and long-term lifespans.This makes it exceptionally difficult to measure engineering parameters and predict disasters such as slope instability or tunnel collaps...Engineering problems often involve large spatial scales and long-term lifespans.This makes it exceptionally difficult to measure engineering parameters and predict disasters such as slope instability or tunnel collapses.A key challenge is to calculate large-scale(target lifespan)quantitative indicators from small-scale(short-term)detectable results,thereby enhancing engineering safety and economic efficiency.Many engineering problems exhibit a unidirectional spatio-temporal evolution with either decay or enhancement as their spatial scale or time increases.This phenomenon is called the power law with exponential function.A general approach is required to use this evolution law in the prediction of the unknown from the known.This paper proposes a novel concept to calculate large-scale indicators via variation of small-scale data(called CLIVS for short),to address a general approach through the following five aspects:Firstly,general spatio-temporal evolution laws in engineering are systematically summarized and classified.Then,the core idea and basic concepts of CLIVS,its mathematical formulation and solution procedure are described in detail.Thirdly,the linkage of CLIVS to past famous philosophy schools is explored.Fourthly,the potential applications of CLIVS to rock mechanics and rock engineering are classified according to size effect and time-scale law.Finally,two typical examples of the application of CLIVS to engineering parameter prediction are presented.These demonstrate that the CLIVS provides a novel way and a general approach to accurately predict unknown behaviors based on known local spatial data or short-term indicators.It formulates a unified theoretical framework or universal approach to calculate unmeasurable engineering parameters or predict lifespan with reasonable accuracy from the knowns measurable at the local scale or in the short term.展开更多
Objectives This study aimed to explore and clarify the concept of reflective supervision as a professional self-care strategy to create a positive Intensive Care Unit(ICU)practice environment.Methods Walker and Avant...Objectives This study aimed to explore and clarify the concept of reflective supervision as a professional self-care strategy to create a positive Intensive Care Unit(ICU)practice environment.Methods Walker and Avant’s eight-step concept analysis approach was utilized to identify and define the attributes,antecedents,and consequences of reflective supervision in the ICU.An extensive literature search was conducted across various databases,including Google Scholar,CINAHL,PubMed.Articles published from 2005 to 2025 were identified.We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)2020 statement to indicate the included articles and extract related data based on relevance.Results Forty articles were included in the analysis.The identified attributes included the supervisor-supervisee relationship,effective communication,teamwork,collaborations,reflection,competencies,feedback,continuous support,and autonomous choice.The identified antecedents included participation,supportive supervision,flexibility,open-door policy,training,and motivation.Consequences impacting the success of reflective supervision were identified as promotion of resiliency,autonomy,work-life balance,self-awareness,increased self-esteem,professional development,critical thinking,increased job satisfaction,and enhanced commitment.Conclusions Reflective supervision is a complex professional self-care strategy that enhances ICU practice,by promoting nurses’well-being,self-awareness,therapeutic skills,and professional development.展开更多

With the evolution of next-generation network technologies,the complexity of network management has significantly increased,and the means of network attacks are diversified,bringing new challenges to network traffic c...With the evolution of next-generation network technologies,the complexity of network management has significantly increased,and the means of network attacks are diversified,bringing new challenges to network traffic classification.This paper presents a general AIdriven network traffic classification workflow and elaborates on a traffic data and feature engineering framework.Most importantly,it analyzes the concept and causes of data distribution shifts in ne twork traffic,proposing detection methods and countermeasures.Experimental results on real traffic collected at different time intervals show that application evolution can induce data distribution shifts,which in turn lead to a noticeable degradation in traffic classification performance.Comparative drift detection experiments further confirm that such shifts are more evident over long-term intervals,while short-term traffic remains relatively stable.These findings demonstrate the necessity of incorporating drift-aware mechanisms into AI-driven network traffic classification systems.展开更多

Processes supported by process-aware information systems are subject to continuous and often subtle changes due to evolving operational,organizational,or regulatory factors.These changes,referred to as incremental con...Processes supported by process-aware information systems are subject to continuous and often subtle changes due to evolving operational,organizational,or regulatory factors.These changes,referred to as incremental concept drift,gradually alter the behavior or structure of processes,making their detection and localization a challenging task.Traditional process mining techniques frequently assume process stationarity and are limited in their ability to detect such drift,particularly from a control-flow perspective.The objective of this research is to develop an interpretable and robust framework capable of detecting and localizing incremental concept drift in event logs,with a specific emphasis on the structural evolution of control-flow semantics in processes.We propose DriftXMiner,a control-flow-aware hybrid framework that combines statistical,machine learning,and process model analysis techniques.The approach comprises three key components:(1)Cumulative Drift Scanner that tracks directional statistical deviations to detect early drift signals;(2)a Temporal Clustering and Drift-Aware Forest Ensemble(DAFE)to capture distributional and classification-level changes in process behavior;and(3)Petri net-based process model reconstruction,which enables the precise localization of structural drift using transition deviation metrics and replay fitness scores.Experimental validation on the BPI Challenge 2017 event log demonstrates that DriftXMiner effectively identifies and localizes gradual and incremental process drift over time.The framework achieves a detection accuracy of 92.5%,a localization precision of 90.3%,and an F1-score of 0.91,outperforming competitive baselines such as CUSUM+Histograms and ADWIN+Alpha Miner.Visual analyses further confirm that identified drift points align with transitions in control-flow models and behavioral cluster structures.DriftXMiner offers a novel and interpretable solution for incremental concept drift detection and localization in dynamic,process-aware systems.By integrating statistical signal accumulation,temporal behavior profiling,and structural process mining,the framework enables finegrained drift explanation and supports adaptive process intelligence in evolving environments.Its modular architecture supports extension to streaming data and real-time monitoring contexts.展开更多
In today's connected world,the generation of massive streaming data across diverse domains has become commonplace.In the presence of concept drift,class imbalance,label scarcity,and new class emergence,these chall...In today's connected world,the generation of massive streaming data across diverse domains has become commonplace.In the presence of concept drift,class imbalance,label scarcity,and new class emergence,these challenges jointly degrade representation stability,bias learning toward outdated distributions,and reduce the resilience and reliability of detection in dynamic environments.This paper proposes a streaming classincremental learning(SCIL)framework to address these issues.The SCIL framework integrates an autoencoder(AE)with a multi-layer perceptron for multi-class prediction,employs a dual-loss strategy(classification and reconstruction)for prediction and new class detection,uses corrected pseudo-labels for online training,manages classes with queues,and applies oversampling to handle imbalance.The rationale behind the method's structure is elucidated through ablation studies,and a comprehensive experimental evaluation is performed using both real-world and synthetic datasets that feature class imbalance,incremental classes,and concept drifts.Our results demonstrate that SCIL outperforms strong baselines and state-of-the-art methods.In line with our commitment to Open Science,we make our code and datasets available to the community.展开更多
Many machine learning-based Android malware detection often suffers from concept drift,where models trained on historical data fail to generalize to evolving threats.This paper proposes SCAN(Structural Clustering with...Many machine learning-based Android malware detection often suffers from concept drift,where models trained on historical data fail to generalize to evolving threats.This paper proposes SCAN(Structural Clustering with Adaptive thresholds for iNtelligent Android malware detection),a hybrid intelligent framework designed to mitigate concept drift without retraining.SCAN integrates Gaussian Mixture Models(GMMs)-based clustering with cluster-wise adaptive thresholding and supervised classifiers tailored to each cluster.A key challenge in clusteringbased malware detection is cluster-wise class imbalance,where clusters contain disproportionate distributions of benign and malicious samples.SCAN addresses this issue through adaptive thresholding,which dynamically adjusts the decision boundary of each cluster according to its malicious-to-benign ratio.In the final training stage,four supervised learning algorithms—Random Forest(RF),Support Vector Machine(SVM),k-NN,and XGBoost—are applied within the GMM-defined clusters.We train SCAN on Android applications collected from 2014-2017 and test it with applications from 2018-2023.Experimental results demonstrate that SCAN combined with RF consistently achieves superior performance,with both average accuracy and average F1-score exceeding 91%.These findings confirm SCAN’s robustness to concept drift and highlight its potential as a sustainable and intelligent solution for long-term Android malware detection in the real world.展开更多

文摘During the Tang Dynasty,incarcerated prisoners enjoyed various rights during their detention,including access to clothing,food,medical care,hygiene,rest,and burial arrangements.Under specific conditions,prisoners were even granted leave for family events such as funerals or weddings.The Rules for Prison Officials(Yuguanling)detailed the rights and safeguards for prisoners and set clear guidelines on the use of restraints during detention.Additionally,the Statutes on Deciding Cases(Duanyu Lü)outlined explicit penalties for judicial officials who failed to ensure prisoner rights or committed related violations.Interrogation processes adhered to strict procedural and substantive requirements,including direct questioning by judges,the avoidance of cases involving personal connections or conflicts of interest,evidence-based cross-examinations,careful investigation of circumstances,and consistent rulings across similar cases.The Tang legal code imposed comprehensive,detailed,and stringent limits on the application of coercive interrogations,specifying restrictions on tools,methods,subjects,and extent.Any breaches of these restrictions were met with severe punishments.While the concept of“human rights”did not appear in Tang legal and administrative texts,these laws and regulations embody abundant principles of people-centered governance,benevolence,and human rights concepts.Systematic examination of these ideas,values,and principles—when integrated with the Marxist perspective on human rights—can enrich China’s contemporary human rights practice,contribute to articulating China’s unique narrative on human rights,and play a role in constructing a distinctly Chinese discourse on human rights.Such efforts could provide Chinese wisdom and proposals for the advancement of human rights globally.

文摘With the progressive development of ecological civilization,the importance of environmental protection concepts in the landscape design discipline has become increasingly pronounced.Focusing on postgraduate landscape design teaching,this study analyzes the theoretical logic underpinning the integration of environmental protection concepts with professional education.By incorporating contemporary teaching case studies,the paper systematically investigates the specific application pathways of environmental protection concepts in curriculum design,teaching methods,and evaluation mechanisms.The objective is to offer both theoretical insights and practical guidance to facilitate the ecological transformation of postgraduate landscape design education in China.
文摘Purpose:Citations can be used in evaluative bibliometrics to measure the impact of papers.However,citation analysis can be extended by a multi-dimensional perspective on citation impact which is intended to receive more specific information about the kind of received impact.Design/methodology/approach:Bornmann,Wray,and Haunschild(2019)introduced citation concept analysis(CCA)for capturing the importance and usefulness certain concepts have in subsequent research.The method is based on the analysis of citances-the contexts of citations in citing papers.This study applies the method by investigating the impact of various concepts introduced in the oeuvre of the world-leading French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu.Findings:We found that the most cited concepts are‘social capital’(with about 34%of the citances in the citing papers),‘cultural capital’,and‘habitus’(both with about 24%).On the other hand,the concepts‘doxa’and‘reflexivity’score only about 1%each.Research limitations:The formulation of search terms for identifying the concepts in the data and the citation context coverage are the most important limitations of the study.Practical implications:The results of this explorative study reflect the historical development of Bourdieu’s thought and its interface with different fields of study.Originality/value:The study demonstrates the high explanatory power of the CCA method.

文摘Traditional vernacular dwellings of Miao Nationality in southeast Guizhou Province are reasonable and scientific in many aspects, such as site selection, construction, structure, direction, room layout, harmony between constructions and environment, moderate development of natural resources and so on, which demonstrate the ecological concepts of Miao people respecting the Nature, pursuing the harmonious coexistence between human beings and Nature. This study analyzed the gist of Miao people constructing vernacular dwellings, i.e. natural and harmonious ecological concepts, the principle of planning according to actual conditions, saving cost by utilizing local materials and sustainably developing architectural structure.

文摘The sustainability of the planning and design goals of urban green land and that of its maintenance and management are mutually related and act as an organic whole. For a long time, the independence of the two is more prominent than their organic connection. This research has made preliminary considerations from three aspects. First, it concerns infusing the concept of ecology, contemplating and demonstrating space, as well as reducing the incidence of plant diseases and insect pests of urban green land. Second, the arrangement of flowers and trees for the planning and design of urban green land should comply with the biological attributes of flowers and trees to realize the organic unification of biological and scenic attributes of flowers and trees. Third, the planning and design of urban green land should attach importance to the organic unification of biological and scenic attributes of lawn grass seeds and reduce the difficulty of maintaining lawn. This research attempts to reduce the pressure of maintaining urban green land from the beginning, i.e. the planning and design of urban green land. It also tries to reduce the cost of maintenance and management to the realize planning and design goals of urban green land and the sustainability concerning its maintenance and management and arrive at the mutual unification of the planning and design as well as maintenance and management of urban green land.
文摘The article addresses the problem of the absence of a common language in international communication.Using the example of the UN Security Council session of March 2,2026,dedicated to children in armed conflicts,it analyzes a paradox:all participants speak about the same values but do not hear one another.As a solution,the Philosophical Matrix is proposed-a system of maximally general comparative concepts(the identical,the different,the correlative,the opposite,the orthogonal)that explicates a universal language of thinking,which the author calls the“language of Elohim”.The cultural-historical roots of this language are traced in the first chapter of Genesis,in Heraclitus,in Laozi,and in the Sefer Yetzirah.An analysis of the March 2 speeches allows us to diagnose at which levels of thinking(reason,practical mind,pure mind,wisdom)today’s educators and politicians operate.The conclusion proposes the“Wise School”project as a practical path for returning to the“language of Elohim”through education starting from early childhood.

文摘Engineering problems often involve large spatial scales and long-term lifespans.This makes it exceptionally difficult to measure engineering parameters and predict disasters such as slope instability or tunnel collapses.A key challenge is to calculate large-scale(target lifespan)quantitative indicators from small-scale(short-term)detectable results,thereby enhancing engineering safety and economic efficiency.Many engineering problems exhibit a unidirectional spatio-temporal evolution with either decay or enhancement as their spatial scale or time increases.This phenomenon is called the power law with exponential function.A general approach is required to use this evolution law in the prediction of the unknown from the known.This paper proposes a novel concept to calculate large-scale indicators via variation of small-scale data(called CLIVS for short),to address a general approach through the following five aspects:Firstly,general spatio-temporal evolution laws in engineering are systematically summarized and classified.Then,the core idea and basic concepts of CLIVS,its mathematical formulation and solution procedure are described in detail.Thirdly,the linkage of CLIVS to past famous philosophy schools is explored.Fourthly,the potential applications of CLIVS to rock mechanics and rock engineering are classified according to size effect and time-scale law.Finally,two typical examples of the application of CLIVS to engineering parameter prediction are presented.These demonstrate that the CLIVS provides a novel way and a general approach to accurately predict unknown behaviors based on known local spatial data or short-term indicators.It formulates a unified theoretical framework or universal approach to calculate unmeasurable engineering parameters or predict lifespan with reasonable accuracy from the knowns measurable at the local scale or in the short term.
文摘Objectives This study aimed to explore and clarify the concept of reflective supervision as a professional self-care strategy to create a positive Intensive Care Unit(ICU)practice environment.Methods Walker and Avant’s eight-step concept analysis approach was utilized to identify and define the attributes,antecedents,and consequences of reflective supervision in the ICU.An extensive literature search was conducted across various databases,including Google Scholar,CINAHL,PubMed.Articles published from 2005 to 2025 were identified.We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)2020 statement to indicate the included articles and extract related data based on relevance.Results Forty articles were included in the analysis.The identified attributes included the supervisor-supervisee relationship,effective communication,teamwork,collaborations,reflection,competencies,feedback,continuous support,and autonomous choice.The identified antecedents included participation,supportive supervision,flexibility,open-door policy,training,and motivation.Consequences impacting the success of reflective supervision were identified as promotion of resiliency,autonomy,work-life balance,self-awareness,increased self-esteem,professional development,critical thinking,increased job satisfaction,and enhanced commitment.Conclusions Reflective supervision is a complex professional self-care strategy that enhances ICU practice,by promoting nurses’well-being,self-awareness,therapeutic skills,and professional development.
文摘Against the backdrop of continuous social development and growing public health demands,the efficiency and scientific nature of the emergency care system are of paramount importance.This paper focuses on researching the construction of an emergency care system based on the concept of“linkage”,delving into its theoretical foundations,exploring innovative construction models,and analyzing practical cases.The study indicates that an emergency care system under the“linkage”concept can effectively integrate resources and enhance efficiency,providing new insights for improving the construction of the emergency care system.It aims to promote the development of the emergency care system towards a more scientific,efficient,and collaborative direction.

文摘With the evolution of next-generation network technologies,the complexity of network management has significantly increased,and the means of network attacks are diversified,bringing new challenges to network traffic classification.This paper presents a general AIdriven network traffic classification workflow and elaborates on a traffic data and feature engineering framework.Most importantly,it analyzes the concept and causes of data distribution shifts in ne twork traffic,proposing detection methods and countermeasures.Experimental results on real traffic collected at different time intervals show that application evolution can induce data distribution shifts,which in turn lead to a noticeable degradation in traffic classification performance.Comparative drift detection experiments further confirm that such shifts are more evident over long-term intervals,while short-term traffic remains relatively stable.These findings demonstrate the necessity of incorporating drift-aware mechanisms into AI-driven network traffic classification systems.
文摘The concept of Damage Control Surgery(DCS)emphasizes prioritizing hemorrhage control,preventing hypothermia,correcting coagulopathy,and acidosis in trauma treatment.The application of the DCS concept in trauma treatment at grassroots hospitals faces numerous challenges such as limited resources,high technical difficulty,and insufficient multidisciplinary collaboration.Therefore,DCS strategies need to be adapted to simplified processes to create conditions for subsequent treatment.This paper retrieves relevant literature to discuss the proposal,promotion,and application of the DCS concept,aiming to provide evidence-based basis for optimizing trauma treatment outcomes at grassroots hospitals.
文摘Processes supported by process-aware information systems are subject to continuous and often subtle changes due to evolving operational,organizational,or regulatory factors.These changes,referred to as incremental concept drift,gradually alter the behavior or structure of processes,making their detection and localization a challenging task.Traditional process mining techniques frequently assume process stationarity and are limited in their ability to detect such drift,particularly from a control-flow perspective.The objective of this research is to develop an interpretable and robust framework capable of detecting and localizing incremental concept drift in event logs,with a specific emphasis on the structural evolution of control-flow semantics in processes.We propose DriftXMiner,a control-flow-aware hybrid framework that combines statistical,machine learning,and process model analysis techniques.The approach comprises three key components:(1)Cumulative Drift Scanner that tracks directional statistical deviations to detect early drift signals;(2)a Temporal Clustering and Drift-Aware Forest Ensemble(DAFE)to capture distributional and classification-level changes in process behavior;and(3)Petri net-based process model reconstruction,which enables the precise localization of structural drift using transition deviation metrics and replay fitness scores.Experimental validation on the BPI Challenge 2017 event log demonstrates that DriftXMiner effectively identifies and localizes gradual and incremental process drift over time.The framework achieves a detection accuracy of 92.5%,a localization precision of 90.3%,and an F1-score of 0.91,outperforming competitive baselines such as CUSUM+Histograms and ADWIN+Alpha Miner.Visual analyses further confirm that identified drift points align with transitions in control-flow models and behavioral cluster structures.DriftXMiner offers a novel and interpretable solution for incremental concept drift detection and localization in dynamic,process-aware systems.By integrating statistical signal accumulation,temporal behavior profiling,and structural process mining,the framework enables finegrained drift explanation and supports adaptive process intelligence in evolving environments.Its modular architecture supports extension to streaming data and real-time monitoring contexts.

文摘In today's connected world,the generation of massive streaming data across diverse domains has become commonplace.In the presence of concept drift,class imbalance,label scarcity,and new class emergence,these challenges jointly degrade representation stability,bias learning toward outdated distributions,and reduce the resilience and reliability of detection in dynamic environments.This paper proposes a streaming classincremental learning(SCIL)framework to address these issues.The SCIL framework integrates an autoencoder(AE)with a multi-layer perceptron for multi-class prediction,employs a dual-loss strategy(classification and reconstruction)for prediction and new class detection,uses corrected pseudo-labels for online training,manages classes with queues,and applies oversampling to handle imbalance.The rationale behind the method's structure is elucidated through ablation studies,and a comprehensive experimental evaluation is performed using both real-world and synthetic datasets that feature class imbalance,incremental classes,and concept drifts.Our results demonstrate that SCIL outperforms strong baselines and state-of-the-art methods.In line with our commitment to Open Science,we make our code and datasets available to the community.

文摘Many machine learning-based Android malware detection often suffers from concept drift,where models trained on historical data fail to generalize to evolving threats.This paper proposes SCAN(Structural Clustering with Adaptive thresholds for iNtelligent Android malware detection),a hybrid intelligent framework designed to mitigate concept drift without retraining.SCAN integrates Gaussian Mixture Models(GMMs)-based clustering with cluster-wise adaptive thresholding and supervised classifiers tailored to each cluster.A key challenge in clusteringbased malware detection is cluster-wise class imbalance,where clusters contain disproportionate distributions of benign and malicious samples.SCAN addresses this issue through adaptive thresholding,which dynamically adjusts the decision boundary of each cluster according to its malicious-to-benign ratio.In the final training stage,four supervised learning algorithms—Random Forest(RF),Support Vector Machine(SVM),k-NN,and XGBoost—are applied within the GMM-defined clusters.We train SCAN on Android applications collected from 2014-2017 and test it with applications from 2018-2023.Experimental results demonstrate that SCAN combined with RF consistently achieves superior performance,with both average accuracy and average F1-score exceeding 91%.These findings confirm SCAN’s robustness to concept drift and highlight its potential as a sustainable and intelligent solution for long-term Android malware detection in the real world.
