In order to enhance the off-peak performance of gas turbine combined cycle(GTCC)units,a novel collaborative power generation system(CPG)was proposed.During off-peak operation periods,the remaining power of the GTCC wa...In order to enhance the off-peak performance of gas turbine combined cycle(GTCC)units,a novel collaborative power generation system(CPG)was proposed.During off-peak operation periods,the remaining power of the GTCC was used to drive the adiabatic compressed air energy storage(ACAES),while the intake air of the GTCC was heated by the compression heat of theACAES.Based on a 67.3MW GTCC,under specific demand load distribution,a CPG system and a benchmark system(BS)were designed,both of which used 9.388% of the GTCC output power to drive the ACAES.The performance of the CPG and the BS without intake air heating was compared.The results show that the load rate of the GTCC in the CPG system during off-peak periods is significantly enhanced,and the average operating efficiency of the GTCC is increased by 1.19 percentage points.However,in the BS system,due to the single collaborativemethod of load shifting,the GTCC operative efficiency is almost increased by 1.00 percentage points under different ambient temperatures.In a roundtrip cycle at an ambient temperature of 288.15K,the systemefficiency of the CPG reaches 0.5010,which is 0.62 percentage points higher than the operative efficiency of 0.4948 in the standalone GTCC;while the system efficiency of the BS is slightly inferior to that of the standalone GTCC.The findings confirm the technical feasibility and performance improvement of the ACAES-GTCC collaborative power generation system.展开更多
Conglomerate rock's complex and heterogeneous microstructure significantly affects its mechanical properties,especially under dynamic loading.However,research on their dynamic behavior and fracture mechanisms is l...Conglomerate rock's complex and heterogeneous microstructure significantly affects its mechanical properties,especially under dynamic loading.However,research on their dynamic behavior and fracture mechanisms is limited.Through uniaxial compression tests and split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)impact tests,the dynamic compressive mechanical properties and fracture mechanisms of conglomerate rock were studied.Nanoindentation and high-resolution X-ray computed tomography were employed to analyze the micro-mechanical behavior and internal structure of the conglomerate rock.Results indicate significant differences in mechanical properties between different gravel particles and cementing materials,with initial fractures primarily distributed at the gravel-cement interfaces.The dynamic mechanical properties of conglomerate rocks exhibit a clear strain rate dependency.Based on the stress−strain curves and failure characteristics,the dynamic compressive mechanical behavior can be categorized into two types using a critical strain rate.The dynamic compressive strength,peak strain,and toughness of conglomerate rock increased with the strain rate,with the strength at 54 s−1 being 2.6 times that at 6 s−1.The dynamic compressive fracture mechanism of conglomerate rock is related to the strain rate and microstructure;at low strain rates,gravel distribution is the key factor,whereas at high strain rates,gravel content becomes critical.展开更多
The penetration of shaped charge jets into targets at high velocities is significantly influenced by the compressibility effect,while at low velocities,the strength effect becomes predominant.In the latter regime,mate...The penetration of shaped charge jets into targets at high velocities is significantly influenced by the compressibility effect,while at low velocities,the strength effect becomes predominant.In the latter regime,material strength dictates the resistance to plastic deformation and flow,a contrast to the shockwave-dominated interactions where compressibility is key.This paper presents a self-consistent compressible penetration theory that considers both the axial penetration and radial crater growth of shaped charge jets into targets.An integrated approach where the axial and radial dynamics are coupled has been proposed,influencing each other through shared physical principles rather than being treated as separate,empirically linked phenomena.The presented theory is rooted in the compressible Bernoulli equation and the linear Rankine-Hugoniot relation.These foundational equations are employed to accurately model the high-pressure shock state and subsequent material flow at the jet-target interface,providing a robust physical basis for the penetration model.Notably,it considers the target material's compressibility,which elevates the pressure at the jet-target interface beyond that observed with incompressible materials.This pressure increase is directly proportional to the target's degree of compressibility.As such,this model of compressible penetration reorients the analytical approach:rather than merely estimating penetration resistance,it determines this value from the target material's specific compressibility and yield strength.This shift from empirical correlations to a physics-based derivation of penetration resistance enhances the model's predictive power,particularly for novel target materials or engagement conditions outside established experimental datasets.This investigation establishes a quantitative link between the material's yield strength and its penetration resistance.The accuracy of this penetration resistance value is paramount,as it significantly influences the predicted crater diameter;indeed,the crater diameter's sensitivity to this resistance underscores the necessity for its precise determination.Ultimately,by integrating the yield strength of the target material,this framework enables the prediction of both the penetration depth and the resultant crater diameter from a shaped charge jet.The theory's validation involved two experimental sets:the first focused on shaped charge jet penetration into 45#steel at varied stand-offs,while the second utilized targets of high-to ultrahigh-strength steel-fiber reactive powder concrete(RPC)with differing strength characteristics.These experimental campaigns were specifically chosen to test the theory against both ductile metallic alloys,where plastic flow is significant,and advanced quasi-brittle cementitious composites,presenting a broad spectrum of material responses and penetration challenges.Resulting hole profiles derived from theoretical calculations demonstrated a strong correspondence with empirical measurements for both material types.展开更多
An in-depth understanding of the behaviours of solid propellants under low-velocity impact loads is crucial for enhancing their safety in applications such as aerospace propulsion.This study investigated the dynamic r...An in-depth understanding of the behaviours of solid propellants under low-velocity impact loads is crucial for enhancing their safety in applications such as aerospace propulsion.This study investigated the dynamic responses of single ammonium perchlorate(AP)/octogen(HMX)particles embedded in a hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)binder under dynamic compression loading via real-time synchrotron-based X-ray phase contrast imaging and a modified split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)system.The compression of the viscoelastic binder and subsequent dynamic fracturing of the AP/HMX particles were captured.During compression,transverse cracks developed within the AP particles,and their propagation led to particle fracturing,resulting in ductile fracturing.Unlike AP,HMX generated numerous short cracks within the internal and edge regions simultaneously,leading to fragmentation and brittle fracturing.Moreover,particle damage reduced the modulus of the sample,shifting its dynamic stress response from nonlinear elasticity to strain softening and further strain hardening as the binder exhibited plastic deformation.A compression simulation incorporating a real particle microscopic structure was established to study the mechanical response of the interface and particles.The simulation results agreed with the experimental observations.These results indicate that the shear stress at the HTPB-AP interface is greater than that at the HTPB-HMX interface,which is a factor influencing the differences in the mesoscale damage mechanisms of the particles.展开更多
High-performance fiber fabrics and composites experienced transverse compression deformation at ultrahigh strain rates near the impact point when subjected to high-velocity impacts,which significantly affected their b...High-performance fiber fabrics and composites experienced transverse compression deformation at ultrahigh strain rates near the impact point when subjected to high-velocity impacts,which significantly affected their ballistic limits.In this paper,a fiber-scale experimental method for characterizing ultrahigh strain-rate transverse compression behavior was proposed.To begin with,in order to measure the extremely low stress and strain in small specimens,the conventional Hopkinson bar was reduced to the hundred-micron scale,thereby achieving wave impedance matching with single fibers.In addition,tangential and normal laser Doppler velocimetry(LDV)methods were employed to realize non-contact,high-precision,and high-speed axial velocity measurements of micron-scale incident and transmission bars,respectively.Meanwhile,a microscopic observation system was used to facilitate the installation of miniature fiber samples.The experimental setup and procedures were introduced,and the system accuracy was verified through sample-free loading tests based on one-dimensional stress wave propagation theory.Dynamic compression experiments on Graphene-UHMWPE fibers were carried out,followed by post-compression microstructural characterization via scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Results demonstrated that successful mechanical characterization was achieved at strain rates exceeding 105,an order of magnitude higher than the previously reported maximum rates.Furthermore,during the loading process,the fibers underwent uniform compression deformation while exhibiting pronounced strain-rate effects.This method offers a novel approach for dynamic mechanical characterization of microscale single fibers,enabling the development of comprehensive strain-ratedependent material models to guide the design of advanced composites and high-performance fibers.展开更多

The accumulation and circulation of carbon and hydrogen contribute to the chemical evolution of ice giant planets.Species separation and diamond precipitation have been reported in carbon-hydrogen systems and have bee...The accumulation and circulation of carbon and hydrogen contribute to the chemical evolution of ice giant planets.Species separation and diamond precipitation have been reported in carbon-hydrogen systems and have been verified by static and shock compression experiments.Nevertheless,the dynamic formation processes underlying these phenomena remain insufficiently understood.In combination with a deep learning model,we demonstrate that diamonds form through a three-step process involving dissociation,species separation,and nucleation processes.Under shock conditions of 125 GPa and 4590 K,hydrocarbons decompose to give hydrogen and low-molecular-weight alkanes(CH_(4) and C_(2)H_(6)),which escape from the carbon chains,resulting in C/H species separation.The remaining carbon atoms without C-H bonds accumulate and nucleate to form diamond crystals.The process of diamond growth is associated with a critical nucleus size at which the dynamic energy barrier plays a key role.These dynamic processes of diamond formation provide insight into the establishment of a model for the evolution of ice giant planets.展开更多
By analyzing core data from an offshore Gulf of Mexico reservoir and developing analytical solutions,it can be demonstrated that laboratory measurements on pore-volume compressibility include artifacts,leading to a mi...By analyzing core data from an offshore Gulf of Mexico reservoir and developing analytical solutions,it can be demonstrated that laboratory measurements on pore-volume compressibility include artifacts,leading to a misinterpretation of porosity and permeability trends.A systematic evaluation of poro-elastic changes in pore volumes(and quantifying any consequent fluid expulsion during reservoir compaction)suggests that poro-elastic relaxation may enhance fluid production rates from deep reservoirs by up to 25%.This value may be inadvertently inflated if the core samples used for pore-volume compressibility measurements suffered from handling damage.Nonetheless,poro-elastic fluid expulsion from the pores in producing reservoirs can provide additional lift and thus may enhance the recovery factor.Therefore,the possible contribution to well performance from poro-elastic production drive mechanisms ought to be carefully evaluated in reserves estimation.Reversely,injection wells may encounter poro-elastic suppression of injectivity due to elastic resistance,which would adversely affect the storage coefficient.By integrating geomechanical reservoir response with traditional fluid production models,reservoir model predictions of production under pressure depletion and injection conditions will be more accurate.The new insights reported here are essential for optimizing well performance,improving reservoir management,and extending the economic life of geological reservoirs.However,caution is warranted regarding pore-volume compressibility measurements.To what degree laboratory measurements of pore-volume compressibility measure true values or mainly record handling damage could not be conclusively settled in the present study.展开更多
Polyurethane foam,when used as a compressible layer in deep soft rock tunnels,offers a feasible solution to reduce the support pressure on the secondary lining.The foam spraying method using sprayed polyurethane mater...Polyurethane foam,when used as a compressible layer in deep soft rock tunnels,offers a feasible solution to reduce the support pressure on the secondary lining.The foam spraying method using sprayed polyurethane material is convenient for engineering applications;however,the compressive behaviour and feasibility of sprayed polyurethane material as a compressible layer remain unclear.To address this gap,this study conducts uniaxial compression tests and scanning electron microscope(SEM)tests to investigate the compressive behaviour of the rigid foams fabricated from a self-developed polyurethane spray material.A peridynamics model for the composite lining with a polyurethane compressible layer is then established.After validating the proposed method by comparison with two tests,a parametric study is carried out to investigate the damage evolution of the composite lining with a polyurethane compressible layer under various combinations of large deformations and compressible layer parameters.The results indicate that the polyurethane compressible layer effectively reduces the radial deformation and damage index of the secondary lining while increasing the damage susceptibility of the primary lining.The thickness of the polyurethane compressible layer significantly influences the prevention effect of large deformation-induced damage to the secondary lining within the density range of 50e100 kg/m^(3).In accordance with the experimental and simulation results,a simple,yet reasonable and convenient approach for determining the key parameters of the polyurethane compressible layer is proposed,along with a classification scheme for the parameters of the polyurethane compressible layer.展开更多
Reliable forecasting of coal seam gas production and gas injectivity(e.g.,CO_(2) or air)requires an accurate understanding of coal’s anisotropic permeability,which governs the directional flow of gas.Although the ani...Reliable forecasting of coal seam gas production and gas injectivity(e.g.,CO_(2) or air)requires an accurate understanding of coal’s anisotropic permeability,which governs the directional flow of gas.Although the anisotropic nature of coal permeability is well recognized,little attention has been paid to how this ratio evolves with changes in effective stress or with the injection of gases that have different affinities to coal.In this work,more than 600 permeability tests were conducted on eight cubic Australian coal samples using He,N_(2) and CO_(2) gases under varying effective stresses,providing a comprehensive dataset that allows the combined effects of effective stress and gas adsorption on permeability anisotropy to be robustly assessed on the same samples.The results demonstrated that all coal samples exhibited evident permeability anisotropy,with ratios ranging from 1.11 to 6.55.For the first time,quantitative relationships between the anisotropy ratio,effective stress,and initial permeability were established for each of the three injection gases,highlighting how gas adsorption and effective stress changes both anisotropic permeability magnitude and ratio.These findings provide new insights into the directional flow behavior of gases in coal seams,with implications for underground compressed air energy storage and CO_(2) sequestration.展开更多
Data compression plays a vital role in datamanagement and information theory by reducing redundancy.However,it lacks built-in security features such as secret keys or password-based access control,leaving sensitive da...Data compression plays a vital role in datamanagement and information theory by reducing redundancy.However,it lacks built-in security features such as secret keys or password-based access control,leaving sensitive data vulnerable to unauthorized access and misuse.With the exponential growth of digital data,robust security measures are essential.Data encryption,a widely used approach,ensures data confidentiality by making it unreadable and unalterable through secret key control.Despite their individual benefits,both require significant computational resources.Additionally,performing them separately for the same data increases complexity and processing time.Recognizing the need for integrated approaches that balance compression ratios and security levels,this research proposes an integrated data compression and encryption algorithm,named IDCE,for enhanced security and efficiency.Thealgorithmoperates on 128-bit block sizes and a 256-bit secret key length.It combines Huffman coding for compression and a Tent map for encryption.Additionally,an iterative Arnold cat map further enhances cryptographic confusion properties.Experimental analysis validates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm,showcasing competitive performance in terms of compression ratio,security,and overall efficiency when compared to prior algorithms in the field.展开更多
This study systematically investigated the coupling effects of confiningpressure and strain rate on the dynamic strength of granite through dynamic triaxial compression tests.A dynamic strength criterion was developed...This study systematically investigated the coupling effects of confiningpressure and strain rate on the dynamic strength of granite through dynamic triaxial compression tests.A dynamic strength criterion was developed to incorporate these coupling effects for further analysis.Moreover,the research thoroughly revealed the underlying mechanism by which these coupling effects influencethe rock strength.The results revealed that both confiningpressure and strain rate significantly enhanced the dynamic strength of rock;however,a mutual inhibition effect emerged under their coupling.Specifically,as the confiningpressure increased,the strengthening effect of strain rate gradually diminished.Conversely,increasing the strain rate weakened the strengthening effect of confiningpressure.The proposed strength criterion successfully predicted rock strength under various confiningpressures(0-225 MPa)and strain rates(10^(-6)-600 s^(-1)).It achieved an average prediction error of only 8.3%,which represents a 65%improvement in accuracy compared to models that consider confiningpressure and strain rate effects independently.At the micro-mechanism level,increasing confiningpressure and strain rate promoted crack propagation in a transgranular(TG)mode,thereby enhancing the overall rock strength.However,under the coupling effects,the interference and interaction of TG cracks weakened the overall strengthening effect.This indicated that the competitive interaction between confiningpressure and strain rate during crack propagation constitutes the intrinsic mechanism underlying their mutual inhibitory effect on rock strength.This study provides a more accurate theoretical basis for understanding the dynamic responses of rocks and contributes valuable insights for disaster prevention and control in deep rock engineering projects.展开更多
Incoherent digital holography has attracted significant attention due to its advantages in threedimensional(3D)imaging under low spatial coherence conditions,such as easy access to light sources and reduced speckle no...Incoherent digital holography has attracted significant attention due to its advantages in threedimensional(3D)imaging under low spatial coherence conditions,such as easy access to light sources and reduced speckle noise.However,interlayer crosstalk during the reconstruction process leads to a substantial reduction in reconstruction fidelity.Furthermore,existing deconvolutionand deep-learning-based reconstruction algorithms face limitations in terms of effectiveness and generalization.To address these challenges,we propose a compressive incoherent digital holography(CIDH)approach for 3D imaging.In CIDH,a point spread hologram sequence with a high signal-to-noise ratio is initially obtained using a customized computergenerated holography method for dual-channel forward data acquisition.For scene reconstruction,a compressed sensing-based two-step iterative shrinkage/thresholding algorithm is employed to achieve high-fidelity 3D scene retrieval.The combined optimization demonstrates exceptional performance in suppressing interlayer crosstalk and enhancing reconstruction fidelity.In simulations,crosstalk was effectively suppressed across 10 depth layers.In experiments,successful suppression was achieved for both a five-layer transmissive object and a two-layer reflective 3D object,resulting in significantly improved reconstruction accuracy.The proposed framework shows great potential for applications in various incoherent source-illuminated and fluorescent 3D imaging.展开更多

The use of compression techniques for these bitstream files is emerging as a key strategy to alleviate the burden on storage resources. Due to the severe resource constraints of space-based electronics and the unique application environment, the simplicity, efficiency and robustness of the decompression circuitry is also a key design consideration. Through comparative analysis current bitstream file compression technologies, this research suggests that the Lempel Ziv Oberhumer (LZO) compression algorithm is more suitable for satellite applications. This paper also delves into the compression process and format of the LZO compression algorithm, as well as the inherent characteristics of configuration bitstream files. We propose an improved algorithm based on LZO for bitstream file compression, which optimises the compression process by refining the format and reducing the offset. Furthermore, a low-cost, robust decompression hardware architecture is proposed based on this method. Experimental results show that the compression speed of the improved LZO algorithm is increased by 3%, the decompression hardware cost is reduced by approximately 60%, and the compression ratio is slightly reduced by 0.47%.展开更多
This study investigates the volumetric behaviors of various soils during freeze-thaw(FT)cycles and subsequent one-dimensional(1D)compression from experimental and theoretical studies.Experimental studies were performe...This study investigates the volumetric behaviors of various soils during freeze-thaw(FT)cycles and subsequent one-dimensional(1D)compression from experimental and theoretical studies.Experimental studies were performed on saturated expansive soil specimens with varying compaction conditions and soil structures under different stress states.Experimental results demonstrate that the specimens expand during freezing and contract during thawing.All specimens converge to the same residual void ratio after seven FT cycles,irrespective of their different initial void ratio,stress state,and soil structure.The compression index of the expansive soil specimens increases with the initial void ratio,whereas their swelling index remains nearly constant.A model extending the disturbed state concept(DSC)is proposed to predict the 1D compression behaviors of FT-impacted soils.The model incorporates a parameter,b,to account for the impacts of FT cycles.Empirical equations have been developed to link the key model parameters(i.e.the normalized yield stress and parameter b)to the soil state parameter(i.e.the normalized void ratio)in order to simplify the prediction approach.The proposed model well predicts the results of the tested expansive soil.In addition,the model’s feasibility for other types of soils,including low-and high-plastic clays,and high-plastic organic soils,has been validated using published data from the literature.The proposed model is simple yet reliable for predicting the compression behaviors of soils subjected to FT cycles.展开更多
Hot deformation with high strain rate has been paid more attention due to its high efficiency and low cost,however,the strain rate dependent dynamic recrystallization(DRX)and texture evolution in hot deformation proce...Hot deformation with high strain rate has been paid more attention due to its high efficiency and low cost,however,the strain rate dependent dynamic recrystallization(DRX)and texture evolution in hot deformation process,which affect the formability of metals,are lack of study.In this work,the DRX behavior and texture evolution of Mg-8Gd-1Er-0.5Zr alloy hot compressed with strain rates of 0.1 s^(−1),1 s^(−1),10 s^(−1) and 50 s^(−1) are studied,and the corresponding dominant mechanisms for DRX and texture weakening are discussed.Results indicated the DRX fraction was 20%and the whole texture intensity was 16.89 MRD when the strain rate was 0.1 s^(−1),but they were 76%and 6.55 MRD,respectively,when the strain rate increased to 50 s^(−1).The increment of DRX fraction is suggested to result from the reduced DRX critical strain and the increased dislocation density as well as velocity,while the weakened whole texture is attributed to the increased DRX grains.At the low strain rate of 0.1 s^(−1),discontinuous DRX(DDRX)was the dominant,but the whole texture was controlled by the deformed grains with the preferred orientation of{0001}⊥CD,because the number of DDRX grains was limited.At the high strain rate of 50 s^(−1),continuous DRX(CDRX)and twin-induced DRX(TDRX)were promoted,and more DRX grains resulted in orientation randomization.The whole texture was mainly weakened by CDRX and TDRX grains,in which CDRX plays a major role.The results of present work are significant for understanding the hot workability of Mg-RE alloys with a high strain rate.展开更多
The lined rock cavern(LRC)compressed air energy storage(CAES)system is currently regarded as one of the most promising methods for large-scale energy storage.However,the safety of LRC under high internal pressure has ...The lined rock cavern(LRC)compressed air energy storage(CAES)system is currently regarded as one of the most promising methods for large-scale energy storage.However,the safety of LRC under high internal pressure has emerged as a critical issue that restricts their development.While scholars have focused on the safety of LRC under multiphysics field coupling,few have noticed the inevitable damage sustained by the primary load-bearing components—the surrounding rock and concrete lining—under high internal pressure,compromising their strength and permeation resistance.This study investigates the impact of damage to the surrounding rock and lining concrete on the stability and airtightness of the CAES cavern.First,a damagepermeability evolution model was established by analyzing cyclic loading and unloading test data on concrete samples.Then,a thermo-hydro-mechanical damage(THM-D)coupling model for the CAES cavern was developed and validated against operational data from the Huntorf plant.The coupling responses of both the surrounding rock and lining were compared and analyzed under three different schemes of the first charging and discharging operation.The results revealed the correlation between the air temperature in the cavern and the injection rate and the uneven damage evolution of the surrounding rock and lining caused by the geostress distribution coupled with the heat transfer process.Through the analysis,a higher air injection rate causes more lining damage and air leakage,posing greater risks to engineering safety and airtightness.However,the reduction of inflation time will weaken this effect to some extent.These findings offer valuable insights into the design,construction,and safe operation of LRC compressed air energy storage systems.展开更多
To meet the increased demand for light-weight and high-performance special-shaped load bearing parts in automotive industry,the short carbon fiber reinforced magnesium matrix composite(C_(sf)/Mg)part with complex conf...To meet the increased demand for light-weight and high-performance special-shaped load bearing parts in automotive industry,the short carbon fiber reinforced magnesium matrix composite(C_(sf)/Mg)part with complex configuration features and abrupt cross-sectional transitions was fabricated by liquid-solid extrusion following vacuum pressure infiltration process(LSEVI).Near-net forming schemes of both the special-shaped fiber preform and composite part were proposed.The effect of process parameters on the forming quality of the composite part was discussed.Meanwhile,the microstructures and compressive properties in different regions of the part were analyzed.The results show that the forward forming scheme provides the special-shaped fiber preform with no surface defects.For the C_(sf)/AZ91D part,its internal microstructures show that the infiltration of liquid magnesium is sufficient and uniform.The compressive strength of the composite part can reach up to 487 MPa,corresponding to~40%increase compared to 335 MPa of the AZ91D alloy.The average compressive strain of composites is less than 10%,which is about 50%of that of the AZ91D alloy.When the fiber orientation is parallel to the shear direction on the shear plane,the load-bearing capacity of the fiber is much higher than that of the fiber perpendicular to the shear direction.This work not only provides a convenient approach to fabricate special-shaped preform with high fiber volume fraction,but also gives a demonstration for the near-net forming of C_(sf)/Mg parts with excellent material isotropy and compressive properties.展开更多
文摘In order to enhance the off-peak performance of gas turbine combined cycle(GTCC)units,a novel collaborative power generation system(CPG)was proposed.During off-peak operation periods,the remaining power of the GTCC was used to drive the adiabatic compressed air energy storage(ACAES),while the intake air of the GTCC was heated by the compression heat of theACAES.Based on a 67.3MW GTCC,under specific demand load distribution,a CPG system and a benchmark system(BS)were designed,both of which used 9.388% of the GTCC output power to drive the ACAES.The performance of the CPG and the BS without intake air heating was compared.The results show that the load rate of the GTCC in the CPG system during off-peak periods is significantly enhanced,and the average operating efficiency of the GTCC is increased by 1.19 percentage points.However,in the BS system,due to the single collaborativemethod of load shifting,the GTCC operative efficiency is almost increased by 1.00 percentage points under different ambient temperatures.In a roundtrip cycle at an ambient temperature of 288.15K,the systemefficiency of the CPG reaches 0.5010,which is 0.62 percentage points higher than the operative efficiency of 0.4948 in the standalone GTCC;while the system efficiency of the BS is slightly inferior to that of the standalone GTCC.The findings confirm the technical feasibility and performance improvement of the ACAES-GTCC collaborative power generation system.

文摘Conglomerate rock's complex and heterogeneous microstructure significantly affects its mechanical properties,especially under dynamic loading.However,research on their dynamic behavior and fracture mechanisms is limited.Through uniaxial compression tests and split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)impact tests,the dynamic compressive mechanical properties and fracture mechanisms of conglomerate rock were studied.Nanoindentation and high-resolution X-ray computed tomography were employed to analyze the micro-mechanical behavior and internal structure of the conglomerate rock.Results indicate significant differences in mechanical properties between different gravel particles and cementing materials,with initial fractures primarily distributed at the gravel-cement interfaces.The dynamic mechanical properties of conglomerate rocks exhibit a clear strain rate dependency.Based on the stress−strain curves and failure characteristics,the dynamic compressive mechanical behavior can be categorized into two types using a critical strain rate.The dynamic compressive strength,peak strain,and toughness of conglomerate rock increased with the strain rate,with the strength at 54 s−1 being 2.6 times that at 6 s−1.The dynamic compressive fracture mechanism of conglomerate rock is related to the strain rate and microstructure;at low strain rates,gravel distribution is the key factor,whereas at high strain rates,gravel content becomes critical.

文摘The penetration of shaped charge jets into targets at high velocities is significantly influenced by the compressibility effect,while at low velocities,the strength effect becomes predominant.In the latter regime,material strength dictates the resistance to plastic deformation and flow,a contrast to the shockwave-dominated interactions where compressibility is key.This paper presents a self-consistent compressible penetration theory that considers both the axial penetration and radial crater growth of shaped charge jets into targets.An integrated approach where the axial and radial dynamics are coupled has been proposed,influencing each other through shared physical principles rather than being treated as separate,empirically linked phenomena.The presented theory is rooted in the compressible Bernoulli equation and the linear Rankine-Hugoniot relation.These foundational equations are employed to accurately model the high-pressure shock state and subsequent material flow at the jet-target interface,providing a robust physical basis for the penetration model.Notably,it considers the target material's compressibility,which elevates the pressure at the jet-target interface beyond that observed with incompressible materials.This pressure increase is directly proportional to the target's degree of compressibility.As such,this model of compressible penetration reorients the analytical approach:rather than merely estimating penetration resistance,it determines this value from the target material's specific compressibility and yield strength.This shift from empirical correlations to a physics-based derivation of penetration resistance enhances the model's predictive power,particularly for novel target materials or engagement conditions outside established experimental datasets.This investigation establishes a quantitative link between the material's yield strength and its penetration resistance.The accuracy of this penetration resistance value is paramount,as it significantly influences the predicted crater diameter;indeed,the crater diameter's sensitivity to this resistance underscores the necessity for its precise determination.Ultimately,by integrating the yield strength of the target material,this framework enables the prediction of both the penetration depth and the resultant crater diameter from a shaped charge jet.The theory's validation involved two experimental sets:the first focused on shaped charge jet penetration into 45#steel at varied stand-offs,while the second utilized targets of high-to ultrahigh-strength steel-fiber reactive powder concrete(RPC)with differing strength characteristics.These experimental campaigns were specifically chosen to test the theory against both ductile metallic alloys,where plastic flow is significant,and advanced quasi-brittle cementitious composites,presenting a broad spectrum of material responses and penetration challenges.Resulting hole profiles derived from theoretical calculations demonstrated a strong correspondence with empirical measurements for both material types.

文摘An in-depth understanding of the behaviours of solid propellants under low-velocity impact loads is crucial for enhancing their safety in applications such as aerospace propulsion.This study investigated the dynamic responses of single ammonium perchlorate(AP)/octogen(HMX)particles embedded in a hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)binder under dynamic compression loading via real-time synchrotron-based X-ray phase contrast imaging and a modified split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)system.The compression of the viscoelastic binder and subsequent dynamic fracturing of the AP/HMX particles were captured.During compression,transverse cracks developed within the AP particles,and their propagation led to particle fracturing,resulting in ductile fracturing.Unlike AP,HMX generated numerous short cracks within the internal and edge regions simultaneously,leading to fragmentation and brittle fracturing.Moreover,particle damage reduced the modulus of the sample,shifting its dynamic stress response from nonlinear elasticity to strain softening and further strain hardening as the binder exhibited plastic deformation.A compression simulation incorporating a real particle microscopic structure was established to study the mechanical response of the interface and particles.The simulation results agreed with the experimental observations.These results indicate that the shear stress at the HTPB-AP interface is greater than that at the HTPB-HMX interface,which is a factor influencing the differences in the mesoscale damage mechanisms of the particles.

文摘High-performance fiber fabrics and composites experienced transverse compression deformation at ultrahigh strain rates near the impact point when subjected to high-velocity impacts,which significantly affected their ballistic limits.In this paper,a fiber-scale experimental method for characterizing ultrahigh strain-rate transverse compression behavior was proposed.To begin with,in order to measure the extremely low stress and strain in small specimens,the conventional Hopkinson bar was reduced to the hundred-micron scale,thereby achieving wave impedance matching with single fibers.In addition,tangential and normal laser Doppler velocimetry(LDV)methods were employed to realize non-contact,high-precision,and high-speed axial velocity measurements of micron-scale incident and transmission bars,respectively.Meanwhile,a microscopic observation system was used to facilitate the installation of miniature fiber samples.The experimental setup and procedures were introduced,and the system accuracy was verified through sample-free loading tests based on one-dimensional stress wave propagation theory.Dynamic compression experiments on Graphene-UHMWPE fibers were carried out,followed by post-compression microstructural characterization via scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Results demonstrated that successful mechanical characterization was achieved at strain rates exceeding 105,an order of magnitude higher than the previously reported maximum rates.Furthermore,during the loading process,the fibers underwent uniform compression deformation while exhibiting pronounced strain-rate effects.This method offers a novel approach for dynamic mechanical characterization of microscale single fibers,enabling the development of comprehensive strain-ratedependent material models to guide the design of advanced composites and high-performance fibers.

文摘Micropillar compression tests were used to investigate the influence of hydrogen on the deformation behavior and hydrogen embrittlement(HE)of nitrogen-alloyed austenitic stainless steel QN_(2)109.Results indicate that the hydrogen increases the dislocation density,reduces the yield stress,and accelerates the formation and intersection of slip bands,with hydrogen-induced cracks initiating at slip band intersections.X-ray diffraction confirms the absence of martensitic transformation,ruling out the role of martensitic transformation in HE.The micropillar compression technique is highly sensitive for characterizing hydrogen-material interactions,owing to the material’s low hydrogen diffusivity and the small size of its hydrogen-affected zone.These findings align with the hydrogen-enhanced localized plasticity mechanism.

文摘We present the first systematic experimental validation of return-current-driven cylindrical implosion scaling in micrometer-sized Cu and Al wires irradiated by J-class femtosecond laser pulses.Employing XFEL-based imaging with sub-micrometer spatial and femtosecond temporal resolution,supported by hydrodynamic and particle-in-cell simulations,we reveal how return current density depends precisely on wire diameter,material properties,and incident laser energy.We identify deviations from simple theoretical predictions due to geometrically influenced electron escape dynamics.These results refine and confirm the scaling laws essential for predictive modeling in high-energy-density physics and inertial fusion research.

文摘The accumulation and circulation of carbon and hydrogen contribute to the chemical evolution of ice giant planets.Species separation and diamond precipitation have been reported in carbon-hydrogen systems and have been verified by static and shock compression experiments.Nevertheless,the dynamic formation processes underlying these phenomena remain insufficiently understood.In combination with a deep learning model,we demonstrate that diamonds form through a three-step process involving dissociation,species separation,and nucleation processes.Under shock conditions of 125 GPa and 4590 K,hydrocarbons decompose to give hydrogen and low-molecular-weight alkanes(CH_(4) and C_(2)H_(6)),which escape from the carbon chains,resulting in C/H species separation.The remaining carbon atoms without C-H bonds accumulate and nucleate to form diamond crystals.The process of diamond growth is associated with a critical nucleus size at which the dynamic energy barrier plays a key role.These dynamic processes of diamond formation provide insight into the establishment of a model for the evolution of ice giant planets.

文摘By analyzing core data from an offshore Gulf of Mexico reservoir and developing analytical solutions,it can be demonstrated that laboratory measurements on pore-volume compressibility include artifacts,leading to a misinterpretation of porosity and permeability trends.A systematic evaluation of poro-elastic changes in pore volumes(and quantifying any consequent fluid expulsion during reservoir compaction)suggests that poro-elastic relaxation may enhance fluid production rates from deep reservoirs by up to 25%.This value may be inadvertently inflated if the core samples used for pore-volume compressibility measurements suffered from handling damage.Nonetheless,poro-elastic fluid expulsion from the pores in producing reservoirs can provide additional lift and thus may enhance the recovery factor.Therefore,the possible contribution to well performance from poro-elastic production drive mechanisms ought to be carefully evaluated in reserves estimation.Reversely,injection wells may encounter poro-elastic suppression of injectivity due to elastic resistance,which would adversely affect the storage coefficient.By integrating geomechanical reservoir response with traditional fluid production models,reservoir model predictions of production under pressure depletion and injection conditions will be more accurate.The new insights reported here are essential for optimizing well performance,improving reservoir management,and extending the economic life of geological reservoirs.However,caution is warranted regarding pore-volume compressibility measurements.To what degree laboratory measurements of pore-volume compressibility measure true values or mainly record handling damage could not be conclusively settled in the present study.

文摘Polyurethane foam,when used as a compressible layer in deep soft rock tunnels,offers a feasible solution to reduce the support pressure on the secondary lining.The foam spraying method using sprayed polyurethane material is convenient for engineering applications;however,the compressive behaviour and feasibility of sprayed polyurethane material as a compressible layer remain unclear.To address this gap,this study conducts uniaxial compression tests and scanning electron microscope(SEM)tests to investigate the compressive behaviour of the rigid foams fabricated from a self-developed polyurethane spray material.A peridynamics model for the composite lining with a polyurethane compressible layer is then established.After validating the proposed method by comparison with two tests,a parametric study is carried out to investigate the damage evolution of the composite lining with a polyurethane compressible layer under various combinations of large deformations and compressible layer parameters.The results indicate that the polyurethane compressible layer effectively reduces the radial deformation and damage index of the secondary lining while increasing the damage susceptibility of the primary lining.The thickness of the polyurethane compressible layer significantly influences the prevention effect of large deformation-induced damage to the secondary lining within the density range of 50e100 kg/m^(3).In accordance with the experimental and simulation results,a simple,yet reasonable and convenient approach for determining the key parameters of the polyurethane compressible layer is proposed,along with a classification scheme for the parameters of the polyurethane compressible layer.

文摘Reliable forecasting of coal seam gas production and gas injectivity(e.g.,CO_(2) or air)requires an accurate understanding of coal’s anisotropic permeability,which governs the directional flow of gas.Although the anisotropic nature of coal permeability is well recognized,little attention has been paid to how this ratio evolves with changes in effective stress or with the injection of gases that have different affinities to coal.In this work,more than 600 permeability tests were conducted on eight cubic Australian coal samples using He,N_(2) and CO_(2) gases under varying effective stresses,providing a comprehensive dataset that allows the combined effects of effective stress and gas adsorption on permeability anisotropy to be robustly assessed on the same samples.The results demonstrated that all coal samples exhibited evident permeability anisotropy,with ratios ranging from 1.11 to 6.55.For the first time,quantitative relationships between the anisotropy ratio,effective stress,and initial permeability were established for each of the three injection gases,highlighting how gas adsorption and effective stress changes both anisotropic permeability magnitude and ratio.These findings provide new insights into the directional flow behavior of gases in coal seams,with implications for underground compressed air energy storage and CO_(2) sequestration.

文摘Data compression plays a vital role in datamanagement and information theory by reducing redundancy.However,it lacks built-in security features such as secret keys or password-based access control,leaving sensitive data vulnerable to unauthorized access and misuse.With the exponential growth of digital data,robust security measures are essential.Data encryption,a widely used approach,ensures data confidentiality by making it unreadable and unalterable through secret key control.Despite their individual benefits,both require significant computational resources.Additionally,performing them separately for the same data increases complexity and processing time.Recognizing the need for integrated approaches that balance compression ratios and security levels,this research proposes an integrated data compression and encryption algorithm,named IDCE,for enhanced security and efficiency.Thealgorithmoperates on 128-bit block sizes and a 256-bit secret key length.It combines Huffman coding for compression and a Tent map for encryption.Additionally,an iterative Arnold cat map further enhances cryptographic confusion properties.Experimental analysis validates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm,showcasing competitive performance in terms of compression ratio,security,and overall efficiency when compared to prior algorithms in the field.

文摘This study systematically investigated the coupling effects of confiningpressure and strain rate on the dynamic strength of granite through dynamic triaxial compression tests.A dynamic strength criterion was developed to incorporate these coupling effects for further analysis.Moreover,the research thoroughly revealed the underlying mechanism by which these coupling effects influencethe rock strength.The results revealed that both confiningpressure and strain rate significantly enhanced the dynamic strength of rock;however,a mutual inhibition effect emerged under their coupling.Specifically,as the confiningpressure increased,the strengthening effect of strain rate gradually diminished.Conversely,increasing the strain rate weakened the strengthening effect of confiningpressure.The proposed strength criterion successfully predicted rock strength under various confiningpressures(0-225 MPa)and strain rates(10^(-6)-600 s^(-1)).It achieved an average prediction error of only 8.3%,which represents a 65%improvement in accuracy compared to models that consider confiningpressure and strain rate effects independently.At the micro-mechanism level,increasing confiningpressure and strain rate promoted crack propagation in a transgranular(TG)mode,thereby enhancing the overall rock strength.However,under the coupling effects,the interference and interaction of TG cracks weakened the overall strengthening effect.This indicated that the competitive interaction between confiningpressure and strain rate during crack propagation constitutes the intrinsic mechanism underlying their mutual inhibitory effect on rock strength.This study provides a more accurate theoretical basis for understanding the dynamic responses of rocks and contributes valuable insights for disaster prevention and control in deep rock engineering projects.

文摘Incoherent digital holography has attracted significant attention due to its advantages in threedimensional(3D)imaging under low spatial coherence conditions,such as easy access to light sources and reduced speckle noise.However,interlayer crosstalk during the reconstruction process leads to a substantial reduction in reconstruction fidelity.Furthermore,existing deconvolutionand deep-learning-based reconstruction algorithms face limitations in terms of effectiveness and generalization.To address these challenges,we propose a compressive incoherent digital holography(CIDH)approach for 3D imaging.In CIDH,a point spread hologram sequence with a high signal-to-noise ratio is initially obtained using a customized computergenerated holography method for dual-channel forward data acquisition.For scene reconstruction,a compressed sensing-based two-step iterative shrinkage/thresholding algorithm is employed to achieve high-fidelity 3D scene retrieval.The combined optimization demonstrates exceptional performance in suppressing interlayer crosstalk and enhancing reconstruction fidelity.In simulations,crosstalk was effectively suppressed across 10 depth layers.In experiments,successful suppression was achieved for both a five-layer transmissive object and a two-layer reflective 3D object,resulting in significantly improved reconstruction accuracy.The proposed framework shows great potential for applications in various incoherent source-illuminated and fluorescent 3D imaging.

文摘With the increase in the quantity and scale of Static Random-Access Memory Field Programmable Gate Arrays (SRAM-based FPGAs) for aerospace application, the volume of FPGA configuration bit files that must be stored has increased dramatically. The use of compression techniques for these bitstream files is emerging as a key strategy to alleviate the burden on storage resources. Due to the severe resource constraints of space-based electronics and the unique application environment, the simplicity, efficiency and robustness of the decompression circuitry is also a key design consideration. Through comparative analysis current bitstream file compression technologies, this research suggests that the Lempel Ziv Oberhumer (LZO) compression algorithm is more suitable for satellite applications. This paper also delves into the compression process and format of the LZO compression algorithm, as well as the inherent characteristics of configuration bitstream files. We propose an improved algorithm based on LZO for bitstream file compression, which optimises the compression process by refining the format and reducing the offset. Furthermore, a low-cost, robust decompression hardware architecture is proposed based on this method. Experimental results show that the compression speed of the improved LZO algorithm is increased by 3%, the decompression hardware cost is reduced by approximately 60%, and the compression ratio is slightly reduced by 0.47%.

文摘This study investigates the volumetric behaviors of various soils during freeze-thaw(FT)cycles and subsequent one-dimensional(1D)compression from experimental and theoretical studies.Experimental studies were performed on saturated expansive soil specimens with varying compaction conditions and soil structures under different stress states.Experimental results demonstrate that the specimens expand during freezing and contract during thawing.All specimens converge to the same residual void ratio after seven FT cycles,irrespective of their different initial void ratio,stress state,and soil structure.The compression index of the expansive soil specimens increases with the initial void ratio,whereas their swelling index remains nearly constant.A model extending the disturbed state concept(DSC)is proposed to predict the 1D compression behaviors of FT-impacted soils.The model incorporates a parameter,b,to account for the impacts of FT cycles.Empirical equations have been developed to link the key model parameters(i.e.the normalized yield stress and parameter b)to the soil state parameter(i.e.the normalized void ratio)in order to simplify the prediction approach.The proposed model well predicts the results of the tested expansive soil.In addition,the model’s feasibility for other types of soils,including low-and high-plastic clays,and high-plastic organic soils,has been validated using published data from the literature.The proposed model is simple yet reliable for predicting the compression behaviors of soils subjected to FT cycles.

文摘Hot deformation with high strain rate has been paid more attention due to its high efficiency and low cost,however,the strain rate dependent dynamic recrystallization(DRX)and texture evolution in hot deformation process,which affect the formability of metals,are lack of study.In this work,the DRX behavior and texture evolution of Mg-8Gd-1Er-0.5Zr alloy hot compressed with strain rates of 0.1 s^(−1),1 s^(−1),10 s^(−1) and 50 s^(−1) are studied,and the corresponding dominant mechanisms for DRX and texture weakening are discussed.Results indicated the DRX fraction was 20%and the whole texture intensity was 16.89 MRD when the strain rate was 0.1 s^(−1),but they were 76%and 6.55 MRD,respectively,when the strain rate increased to 50 s^(−1).The increment of DRX fraction is suggested to result from the reduced DRX critical strain and the increased dislocation density as well as velocity,while the weakened whole texture is attributed to the increased DRX grains.At the low strain rate of 0.1 s^(−1),discontinuous DRX(DDRX)was the dominant,but the whole texture was controlled by the deformed grains with the preferred orientation of{0001}⊥CD,because the number of DDRX grains was limited.At the high strain rate of 50 s^(−1),continuous DRX(CDRX)and twin-induced DRX(TDRX)were promoted,and more DRX grains resulted in orientation randomization.The whole texture was mainly weakened by CDRX and TDRX grains,in which CDRX plays a major role.The results of present work are significant for understanding the hot workability of Mg-RE alloys with a high strain rate.

文摘The lined rock cavern(LRC)compressed air energy storage(CAES)system is currently regarded as one of the most promising methods for large-scale energy storage.However,the safety of LRC under high internal pressure has emerged as a critical issue that restricts their development.While scholars have focused on the safety of LRC under multiphysics field coupling,few have noticed the inevitable damage sustained by the primary load-bearing components—the surrounding rock and concrete lining—under high internal pressure,compromising their strength and permeation resistance.This study investigates the impact of damage to the surrounding rock and lining concrete on the stability and airtightness of the CAES cavern.First,a damagepermeability evolution model was established by analyzing cyclic loading and unloading test data on concrete samples.Then,a thermo-hydro-mechanical damage(THM-D)coupling model for the CAES cavern was developed and validated against operational data from the Huntorf plant.The coupling responses of both the surrounding rock and lining were compared and analyzed under three different schemes of the first charging and discharging operation.The results revealed the correlation between the air temperature in the cavern and the injection rate and the uneven damage evolution of the surrounding rock and lining caused by the geostress distribution coupled with the heat transfer process.Through the analysis,a higher air injection rate causes more lining damage and air leakage,posing greater risks to engineering safety and airtightness.However,the reduction of inflation time will weaken this effect to some extent.These findings offer valuable insights into the design,construction,and safe operation of LRC compressed air energy storage systems.

文摘To meet the increased demand for light-weight and high-performance special-shaped load bearing parts in automotive industry,the short carbon fiber reinforced magnesium matrix composite(C_(sf)/Mg)part with complex configuration features and abrupt cross-sectional transitions was fabricated by liquid-solid extrusion following vacuum pressure infiltration process(LSEVI).Near-net forming schemes of both the special-shaped fiber preform and composite part were proposed.The effect of process parameters on the forming quality of the composite part was discussed.Meanwhile,the microstructures and compressive properties in different regions of the part were analyzed.The results show that the forward forming scheme provides the special-shaped fiber preform with no surface defects.For the C_(sf)/AZ91D part,its internal microstructures show that the infiltration of liquid magnesium is sufficient and uniform.The compressive strength of the composite part can reach up to 487 MPa,corresponding to~40%increase compared to 335 MPa of the AZ91D alloy.The average compressive strain of composites is less than 10%,which is about 50%of that of the AZ91D alloy.When the fiber orientation is parallel to the shear direction on the shear plane,the load-bearing capacity of the fiber is much higher than that of the fiber perpendicular to the shear direction.This work not only provides a convenient approach to fabricate special-shaped preform with high fiber volume fraction,but also gives a demonstration for the near-net forming of C_(sf)/Mg parts with excellent material isotropy and compressive properties.
